Custom store front for free folio

Hi there
I am actually looking into the DPS Configurator (we got DPS Entreprise license), and have only free folio.
1/ Issue is that the solio appear 0,98$. How can I set it up for free ?
2/ Is it possible to have a the same banner on top than the "entitlement banner/sing in banner" but to use this space for one of our own banner? I f yes how can it do that and delete the "sign in" options on top?

It doesn't work for me, is there a workflow to inspect the storefront like on ipad with Safari? it will be helpfull to find the error... As I tell you I change the background color in the HTML file and it change well, but nothing else...

Adobe DPS: connect custom stores front to external server?

I found this page which has instructions on how to create a custom store front. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/dps-custom-store.html#articlec ontentAdobe_numberedheader_2 My question is, would I be able to host the folio files myself (ie. change the serviceUrl from edge.adobe-dcfs.com to one of my own)? My users would download my custom multi folio viewer app and then connect to my webserver where they could download and view folios hosted by me. Is this possible? Nothing in the API seems to suggest this.

Ok, I figured as much.
If I need to interface with the Adobe Distribution Service, is it possible to do this from an app other than the provided multi-viewer? eg. Can I use the DPS API in my own app?
As I'm sure you've gathered, I'm tring to interface folio files into a larger project.

Enable paywall for free folios

The social sharing feature is great; especially the ability to share to someone without an iPad.
Currently we cannot set a paywall for our magazines because they are free.
To be able to use social sharing to increase our download numbers would be just as useful to us as it is for retail folios. Bigger download numbers = happy advertisers, more advertisers and/or higher ad rates.
Please consider enabling the paywall for free folios.

(1) the app Product ID, which you can ignore
(2) subscription duration Product IDs for a paid app or a single Product ID for a free subscription app
(3) a Product ID for each retail folio
When you're setting up a free subscription app, you don't need to use iTunes to create a Product ID for individual folios, because your folios are free. You just need to set up a free subscription Product ID in iTunes Connect and specify that Product ID in the DPS App Builder. On the Adobe side, you use a different Product ID for different folios you publish, such as com.publisher.publication.2012October and com.publisher.publication.2012November. If you're creating renditions, you use the same Product ID for the different renditions and different Product IDs for different sets of renditions.

We have a free app with a free subscription all set up and working properly, with one issue published so far. We are ready to publish the second issue. The app itself has a Product ID, and our Free Subscription in-app purchase as a different Product ID. I used the same Product ID for the first folio as the Free Subscription Product ID.

To change, you need a physical address and a credit card issued for the U.S.

Change thumbnail image on device rotation in custom store

We have a custom store front that is populated on loading the page.
we use sample code from one of the store building examples.
that code has a methods like getPreviewImageHandler and loadPreviewImage that take a boolean to select either the portrait or landscape image for the store view.
but this method is only called when the page loads.
so if we want to use the portrait image on portrait view pages and the landscape image for the landscape view, we'd need to reload the page on rotation which we dont want to do.
does anyone have any ideas or examples of how we could dynamically swap that image out on device rotation.
The Wired magazine does it beautifully, so it must be possible.
there must be a AJAX solution.
Can anyone help us out please?

You can set a "poster frame" in Quicktime when the file is opened in Quicktime Pro and I believe you can do that as well when using Get Info (not a Mac guy). Otherwise this is entirely arbitrary. Sometimes it's the first frame, sometimes the middle, sometimes one from the 10 minute save chunks AE uses when writing certain clip formats. Still, even if there is a poster frame it doesn't mean that it's actually used anywhere. This stuff simply is not standardized and latest when you open your files on another system all of this may be for nought since the thumbnails would not be in your system's folder view caches. You really should not spend too much time thinking about this and rather use tools that produce persistent thumbnails within their own ecor system like Bridge or video archival database programs.

I have created customized Store Procedure for some logic. Presently i am executing the Store Procedure through the Data Manager Package.
But i need to pass a run time parameter at the time of execution the data manager package. Basically i want pass the Materail Dimension Member at the time of data manager execution .

Hi Krish,
For this, you maintain a script logic and from the script you call the stored procedure alongwith its parameters. Now build a DM on top of the script logic. While running the DM, it should ask the user to select the material members. These members will be automatically passed to the script through %MATERIAL_SET%. In your script, call the stored proc and once of the parameters should be %MATERAIL_SET%.

Not able to execute custome store procs in MS-SQL DB

we are using OIM 11gR2 and implementing OOTB DBUM connector for MS-SQL using ICF for provisioning and reconciliation. And the DB is using WNA for authentication. The issues we are facing is:
1. the OOTB DB comes with in built store procedures. we have to replace those store procedures with custom store procedures for the custom tables built in MS-SQL DB. How do we do that? and we are using ICF framework for the Connector implementation.
2. How do we establish connection to MS-SQL DB which is using WNA? Cos we should not give password while configuring the DB IT Resource.

Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Can I give a client a paid folio for free?

One of our multifolio apps has got interest from one of our other clients, and they would like to show it around various partners and internal staff etc.
We don't want them to have to pay for the folio, but we want to present it as the proper full version (not a developer version in Content Viewer).
We have a Professional DPS license - is there any way of allowing free downloads to certain parties? If not, what would you suggets as the best way to do what we want to do?

You can't do this with a professional license, and even with an enterprise license you'd have to integrate with a custom direct entitlement server and do a bunch of engineering work. Your only real option is to share it and have them look at it in the Adobe Content Viewer.

1.The entire img settings under -sd-basic functions---free goods (i think next to pricing control) all entire settings to be done(i am not with SAP system today so the img path you have to correct it)
Mainly there is one sales area DPP and CPP assignment like pricing procedure assignment is there That has to be done
2.Free goods condition records should be there in VBN1
3.The most important thing your Pricing procedure should have R100 condition type with requirement 55 and alternate base value 28
Without this condition type free will not come in sales order
Free goods are determined by R100 or NRAB condition types
R100 is with requirement 55 and alternate base value 28
NRAB is with requirement 59 and alternate base value 29
Both inclusive and exclusive types are picked by R100
10+1 free (exclusive) for a sales order of 10
9+1 free (inclusive) for a sales order of 10
Both these uses R100
10+1 free (exclusive) for a sales order of 10
There will be two line items in sales order one with TAN for 10 units and another with TANN for 1 unit
9+1 free (inclusive) for a sales order of 10
There will be two line items in sales order one with TAN for 9 units and another with TANN for 1 unit
and
inclusive without item generation is also there
This is picked by condition type NRAB
In this case against a sales order for 10 units say each Rs 10 the total value of that sales order will be 90 for 10 items (there wont be any extra item with tann)
There will be only one line item in the sales order for 10 units and there wont be any TANN but the nett value will be Rs 90
that means 10 % discount spread over the all ordered items without any free item generation
This is inclusive without item generation
While creating condition records in VBN1 we will specify whether it is inclusive or exclusive or inclusive without item generation
Based on this differentiation this will be picked in sales order provide you have maintained both these condition types in your Pricing Procedure with their routines and alternate base values
