Custom Subtype

Dear Expert,
I want to create custom subtype for 185 (personnel ID). My question is can i custom the subtype, i want the subtype to contain only one dropdown list which take value in table xxxx. Can i do that with subtype or should i use a new custom infotype instead?

SPRO > PM>PA --> Personal Data --> Identification --> Maintain Types of Identification
or direct with maintain table V_T591A, here you can copy the sub type from standard. and Here you can create custom IDs as you require for your business needs.
For the drop down list, in the 0185It, you have to go with module pool program for drop down, the modulepool program is MP018500 screen number 2400, for input modules and fetch the values from drop down, you need to write abap coding.

Custom subtype not visible in ESS benefits

Hi Experts,
in erp2005, i created a custom subtype 9B for IT0021 (family members). defined a use case to maintain records through ESS personal information workset. so, a new button with name beneficiaries is seen on portal. however, these beneficiaries are not visible when employee wants to add them in the benefits plans as a beneficiary in certain plans. in the backend system, they are visible however. they can be added to a plan.

Custom Subtypes for IT0021 not appearing in ESS

We are in ECC 6.0 and using custom subtypes like FM01 - FM06 for IT0021 (Family Member/Dependents). Now we are doing ESS implementation and we are not able to display Family details through ESS.
I have maintained the subtypes in table V_T7XSSPERSUBTY.
Our country grouping is 99 and for IT0021 we are using Russian Country screen and completed relevant configurations changes for the same.
Dear Friends, Can anyone guide me what extra changes I need to make for the Custom Subtypes (for IT0021) to appear in ESS.

One thought: There are 2 IMG nodes for Defining possible family members - in addition to V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP.
This is already maintained in our installation, as we are now doing an upgrade.
And all I did for upgrade, was entering data into V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP.
Check out if you need the entries in both the IMG nodes as well. It should not be necessary to code anything to get the subtypes in ESS.
Personnel Management>Personnel Administration>Personal Data>Family>Personal Data>Family Types>Define Possible Family Members.

Infoset Query probelm for Custom Subtypes

Hi Experts.....
         I am new to Infoset Queries...
The problem is an Infoset query is generated for PA infotypes. It is generating output for all the infotypes except for Communication infotype which contains custom Subtypes. Could you plz help me how to get the data from these custom subtypes.(For these subtypes a select query is written).

   We had already created custom fields in the query..... The problem is for some fields it is getting the data. but the select query for all the fields is same(i.e., the where condition is based on pernr & usrty fileds in IT 0105).
   I can't understand why it is taking for some fields & why not for some....

Custom subtype in Infotype 0185

I have created a custom subtype in 0185 under maintain types of identification.
However when I try to access that in PA30, am getting an error ' no values found'
What am I missing ? Please guide
I need to have just two ids in IT0185 - have used the standard 02 for passport and have created one more TP for Travel passport ID.
I have also given infotype entry permissibility in T582L

I know by default the standard function modules of ESS will look for a user id in 0105 with subtype 0001. But 0001 has been used by some other portal pointing the same back end. we cannot use the same user id for ESS.
For ESS, can we use custom subtype for the user ids? Is there any configuration to handle this scenario? How do we link the new portal should validate the user ids in custom subtype.

Of course you can have custom subtypes for 0105 but the issue in your case always in all programmes0105 0001 subtype
is checked so i would recommend not to substitute 0001 with 9001 instead use 9001 for some other purposes
it will be easier.

Thanks for your feedback.
Definitly I dont want to make changes to any of the standard programs. Changing the existing portal is also a major impact in the project.
Is there any configuration option available for ESS to point to the custom subtype 0105? We are in requirement gathering phase,the DEV environment is yet to be ready.

Custom Subtype table for custom Infotype

Hi,
How can I have a customer table Z* as subtype for an infotype? In PM01 I can set a Z table and field in infotype settings, but an error occurs when genarating my infotype.
I would like someting similar to IT 2006 in my custom infotype where I would have a specific Z table as subtype (not a generic one like t591a) so that new entries in that Z table appears as new subtype options.

Hi,
The Subtype Table doesn't contain the Subtype Field.
For Example: PM01 for IT 2006 has Subtype Table T556A, Subtype Field KTART (which is not part of T556A).
KTART is a field in the IT2006 Structure itself.
Subtype Table is used just for the Values of the subtypes, Texts, Time Constraints and Object IDs.
Can you mention what the Structure of Z table is, and what the Subtype Field is.

Update custom IT0105 subtype via ESS change own data service

I created a custom communication subtype in infotype 0105. I would like to add this subtype to the Change Own Data service in ESS, service object name ChangeOwnDataApplication. This service does not appear to allow for the addition of custom subtyhpes from IT0105. Function module HRXSS_COD_SAVE_PERSONAL_DATA seems to limit the subtypes allowed from IT0105 to 0005, CELL, 0010, PAGR and 0020

I Agree to suresh. This service is the most simplest in terms of functionality but has been ruinedbecause of hardcoding done in the function modules used.
This service uses following RFCs

The above doesn't allow the function to read any custom value so if you require to add custom subtypes then you need to deal with them differently.
We have taken following approach.
we made copy of HRXSS_COD_GET_DETAILS and read the custom subtypes.
We made sure that these fields are read and displyed on the standard webdynpro service by modifying it usign NWDI.
For saving the data the standard application calls
HRXSS_COD_MODIFY
HRXSS_COD_SAVE
If you want to save the custom fields then you need to take following route
create copy of above function modules and use instances xss_adapter for respective infotypes if you want to update only 105 or 0032 related fields.
If you have custom fields from infotype 32 and 105 then you may not need to even copy the above function modules.
All cod based RFC has DETAIL_TABLE as import or export parameter. Insert the respective vaules of custom fields(subtypes) that you get from copy of HRXSS_COD_GET_DETAILS.
The above will resolve the issue of adding custom fields (0032) and custom subtypes (0105) to change own data service.
The effort for adding fields is not too high but then unless you understand the details its not simple.
THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS FIELDS CAN BE ADDED ON SCREEN BY CONFIG WE COULD IDENTIFY. IF SOMEONE DOES THEN PLEASE SHARE.

Custom Infotypes and Change History

HR Gurus,
I am being told that with custom infotypes, we can not track change history.
THe scenario I have is that I need to be ableto capture Address Changes (Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State and Zip) and send a Delta for the changed address.
In my unique situation, I have been told that if Address Line 2 is deleted, than the change histiry can not capture the fact that it was deleted and all change history regarding its prior existnace will be deleted if the Address Line2 is removed.
I am not entirely sure=, but I wanted to ask you guys anyway if I woukd be able to track Change history.

Hi Feroz,
Do not believe everything you hear. You can view changed and deleted information from custom infotypes and fields.
First, I am not sure why you need a custom infotype for addresses when IT0006 is available to you. You can more easily create a custom subtype if the supplied ones do not meet your needs.
But for any PA infotype including custom infotypes, you can use the Logged Changes to infotype Data report (RPUAUD00). You have to set up the infotype to be logged in the IMG: Personnel Management --> Personnel Administration --> Tools --> Revision --> Set Up Change Document. In the first section, you list the infotypes you want to track changes for including your custom infotype. In the second step you list the fields you want to track. "*" means any change to any field. And in the third step you indicate whether the information is kept as a long term or short term document.
When you run the report, you can enter the infotype and period you want and the first list will be all changes to that infotype. Select one to view the details and you will see each field listed with the original data and the new data. If a field is deleted, it will appear blank in the new area, but you can still see the old entry in the previous data column.
Also, if an individual deletes a entry in an infotype by using Copy and enters in a new start date, the old record will be delimited, but still be available for viewing. Also, every infotype records who made changes and the date of the change.

Missing Subtypes of the Infotypes !!

When we migrate the system from old version 4.6B to ECC 5.0, some of the customized subtypes of the infotypes(0035 and 0040) are missing in the new version. Only the standard subtypes are displayed.
The spro path for the same is SPRO->Personnel management->Contractual and Corporate Agreements->Company Instructions->Determine Instruction Types
and SPRO->Personnel management->Contractual and Corporate Agreements->Objects on loan->Define Objects on loan.
The view related to this customizing is V_T591S and V_T591A.
Currently we are facing the problem with the above infotype in ECC 5.0.
Any suggestions for the above problem?.

When we check in the old version ie 46b View for infotype 0035 and 0040 , it shows some 36 entries but now in the upgraded version it is showing only 2 and 5 entires respectively .
So we are trying to locate where excatly the issue was, does it get transported during the upgrade or we need to manually mantian it in(ECC 5.0) ... i am also viewing the upgrade log if there is any issue in that also if we can found some SAP note on the same , why this entries are not visible in the upgraded version .
Also The change logs or custom notes against a config change are not there in HR config components in the upgraded version, can you provide some input on this also ?

Compensation Management - Job Evaluation subtypes

We have deleted all standard subtypes (EV01, EV02, EV03) subtypes against the IT Job evaluation and added new ones as per the client requirement, but when we are creating that infotype against the object Job along with the Customized subtypes we get a dropdown which has an entry 'EV01' without any description. We do not want these entries.. Can someone help me to resolve this issue..

Subtype related querry!!!!!!!!!!!

In infotye 0584 I have 2 subtyes, when I select the first subtype (From property) and choose create button, the start date it takes is 01.04.2004 & end date is 31.03.2005 which are grey field that means I cant change them.
Can anyone tell me how to change the start & end date of subtype of a infoptype.
Is it related to time constraint, if please tell me which screen to approach and what are the fields to change??
And moreover I would like to put the start date and end date as the financial year dates for next year..

One way is to create a Module in the PBO of your dynpro (Normaly 2000) and use LOOP AT SCREEN to hide/show the fields depending on the subtype you have entered.

In fact, i added a new attribute for BOR bus2201.
When i wanted to change the status to implemented, i got the following error 'Set required status for all subtypes first'.

Hi Meriem,
Any new attribute should be added to the newly created custom SubType of the Object type BUS2201, but not Object BUS2201 itself.
Revert the BOR BUS2201 to its original state and add the new attribute to your z<subtype>. You will no more get the error.

For an Thailand Employee,
I need to print his Name from PA0182(Alternative Names) and the Adress Details from Pa0006 with a custom subtype 0026(Thailand Address).
The source of Name and Address is different if I want to do the same for a Taiwan PERNR.
Is there a way to dynamically determine the source of Data based on Country Grouping?

Sorry for misreading your question!
In the view T588M, you can choose the infotype 0006 and subtype too it is probably already customized for Thailand!
There is probrably a feature with county grouping!
Just add the country grouping of taiwan to the one of thailand!
