Custom Table Loses Formatting

RoboHelp 9.0.0.228/Server 9
WebHelp Pro
Single Project (upgraded from RH x5 to RH9)
I have created a custom table by using the "Create new style" feature.  I noticed that when the custom table style is renamed, tables already inserted in the topic lose their formatting (new tables inserted do have the custom formatting).   Is this a bug?

I hope Rick will not mind me disagreeing as I did raise a very similar issue with Adobe. I changed the name of a CSS style and expected RoboHelp to do as Rick says, automatically change things for me. It was pointed out that in common with other HTML editors, that was not the way it worked.
I might agree with Adobe's view *IF* RoboHelp were being sold and marketed as a generic HTML editor. The problem is, it's not. It's a Help Authoring Tool. I expect a Help Authoring Tool to have my back.
I suppose if I were to draw a parallel, I'd be seriously asking Adobe if they are now suggesting that by virtue of changing an HTML file name in the application that the tool should ignore any references to the old file name and allow all manner of broken links to result? It's the same difference as I view it.
I agree with your view that *AT MINIMUM* RoboHelp should ask me if I want all former references converted. The best case scenario would be for us to have an option that allows configuring the behavior.
Cheers... Rick

  • Download to Excel after migration to 11g: Table lose formats

    Hi,
    after migration to 11g we make some test.
    Download to excel is not working correct. Calculated column lose the rounding, Table with green line lose the format of the borders.
    Is this a known issue?
    Regards,
    Stefan

    Yes. Refer to ID 1380981.1 and ID 1451127.1
    It depends on which version of OBIEE you're working with though and the Locale set for Excel.
    Please assign points if helpful/correct.

  • How to store long text in Rich Text Format in custom table

    Hi
    I have a requirement to store long text in the RTF in custom table.. Is this possible..
    I am aware of a way to store them as Standard texts (SO10).. But not sure on if we can store them in tables..
    Plz advise
    Thanks
    Geetha

    Not that familiar with RTF, but you could try and create a field of type (x)string in your table and store the data there.

  • How can I place a custom table over an image?

    I have a graphic embedded in the Master Page at the start of every chapter like this.
    I created a borderless Custom Table without the data that I want to place over the image so it looks like the text is typed on the notebook paper. I apparently can't add this to the Master Page, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this on the Body Page either. The table is the same as in my previous question but included here again for reference. While the borders are evident here, I will turn them off when I get this placed. The merged cells are for graphics that will change every Lesson. Appreciating this forum as always. Someday I hope I have enough knowledge to help other people here...
    Thanks,
    Laurie

    Laurie,
    You need to have a text frame over the area that you want your table to appear. On the Master Page, use the graphics tools to draw the text frame (Body not Background type) where you need it. Then on the Body pages insert the table. You may need to play with the positioning of the graphic on the Master Page and perhaps use the Format > Page Layout > Line Layout > Baseline Synchronization option as well as the Table Row Height properties to get things to properly align.

  • Custom Table Currency field with 5 decimals

    Hello,
    I have created a custom table and it has a field for 'US Plan Cost'. The users wanted it with 5 Decimals. I have created a custom domain and custom data element of DEC Type with 5 Decimals.
    Domain: ZCOST: Data Type: DEC, No. of Characters: 11, Decimal Places: 5.
    However When I am trying to create entries in the table though, it's giving me error: Input must be in the format _____,_____,_____,_____~._____
    The entry that I am creating is: 1.23450.
    I dont know what went wrong? Can anybody please help me?
    Thanks Much.

    Are you doing this with SM30?  or from a program?  If a program, be sure your data value is precisely '1.23450'. It sounds like you're inputting something else...
    Or, post code?

  • Problem while downloading file from custom table

    Hi All,
    Im trying to download the file from the custom table where i have stored the uploaded files through apex.
    I have created the download procedure as mentioned in the oracle docs ,
    And given the execute grant for public user.
    and calling that procedure by calling the URL -- #OWNER#.download_my_file?p_file=#ID#
    But im getting the below error
    Forbidden
    You don't have permission to access /pls/apex/owner.download_my_file on this server.
    Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.2.0.2 Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at servername Port number
    Can any one tell whats the problem here.
    Thanks in advance
    regards,
    Arumugam KR

    Your function apex_util.get_blob_file_src under region, the first argument must be the name of page item anywhere in your application that is of type "file browse." So if your form for uploading the blob content is on page 11 and the file browse item is "P11_FILE_NAME" then your query would look like below:
    SELECT FILE_ID
         , FILE_NAME
          , CASE WHEN NVL(dbms_lob.getlength(BLOB_CONTENT),0) = 0
           THEN NULL
            ELSE
                  CASE WHEN attach_mimetype like 'image%'
                THEN '<img src="'||apex_util.get_blob_file_src('P11_FILE_NAME',id)||'" />'
                ELSE
                     '<a href="'||apex_util.get_blob_file_src('P11_FILE_NAME',id)||'">Download</a>'
               end
           END new_img
        FROM TABLE_NAME
    GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC FunctionAs an alternative to using the built-in methods of providing a download link, you can use the APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC function. One advantage of this approach, is the ability to more specifically format the display of the image (with height and width tags). Please note that this approach is only valid if called from a valid Oracle Application Express session. Also, this method requires that the parameters that describe the BLOB to be listed as the format of a valid item within the application. That item is then referenced by the function.>

  • Custom Table Editor: values are not populated to the model

    H,
    I wrote a custom table renderer which uses JComboBox + editor, which seem to work (after editing, the displayed cell reflects the change) but after editing the table manually, the model is not altered when i call table.getModel();
    The editor part is as simple as
      class MPComboBoxEditor extends DefaultCellEditor {
            private final JComboBox box;
            public MPComboBoxEditor(JComboBox b) {
                super(b);
                this.box = b;
        }The renderer:
    public class CellRendererWithMPComboBox extends JLabel implements TableCellRenderer {
        private final Context c;
        private final JTable table;
        private DefaultTableCellRenderer rend = new DefaultTableCellRenderer();
        private JLabel label = new JLabel();
        public CellRendererWithMPComboBox(Context c, JTable table) {
            super();
            this.c = c;
            this.table = table;
         * Set this renderer to the given column
         * @param column
        public void setRendererTo(int column) {
            TableColumn col = table.getColumnModel().getColumn(column);
            col.setCellEditor(new JComboBoxEditor(JComboBox(<some values>)));
            col.setCellRenderer(this);
        @Override
        public Component getTableCellRendererComponent(JTable table, Object value,
                boolean isSelected, boolean hasFocus, int row, int column) {
            if (hasFocus && isSelected) {
                if (isSelected) {
                    setForeground(table.getSelectionForeground());
                    super.setBackground(table.getSelectionBackground());
                } else {
                    setForeground(table.getForeground());
                    setBackground(table.getBackground());
                 label.setText((value == null) ? "" : value.toString());
                return label;
            } else {
                label.setText((value == null) ? "" : value.toString());
                return label;
        }the model simply extends DeafultTableModel to get formatted numbers.
        @Override
        @SuppressWarnings("unchecked")
        public Object getValueAt(int row, int column) {
            Object o = super.getValueAt(row, column);
            Class t = getColumnClass(column);
            if (!t.getName().equals("java.lang.Object")) {
                if (o != null && (t.isAssignableFrom(Double.class) ||
                        t.isAssignableFrom(double.class) ||
                        t.isAssignableFrom(float.class) ||
                        t.isAssignableFrom(Float.class))) {
                    return FormatNumber.formatDezimal(Double.valueOf(o.toString()));
                } else {
                    return o;
            } else {
                return o;
        }Do i need to override some setValueAt method in the editor/renderer or something?
    Thanks one more time!
    Regards,
    Andreas

    I don't see any getModel() in your code extract. If the renderer renders it right after edition, then the value is probably correct in the model.
    Also, remember [this thread|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5396048], where it appeared you were not clear about which model you were looking at.
    Do i need to override some setValueAt method in the editor/renderer or something?No. But have you overridden the model's setValueAt?

  • How do you activate the 'custom' region under 'formats' in 'Language

    Hi,
    To start with, I'm a beginner with Mac and I currently own a MacBook Pro with Lion. For my 'region,' I used to have English (Bahrain), but I accidentally changed it to United States, but it's not what I hoped for. I used to have the Bahraini currency, date-system, time, among other things, and now I have the US system. I tried Arabic and chose Bahrain, but everything is in Arabic. There is no English and then Bahrain. Heck, there is no 'English.' I've tried changing it back, but Bahrain isn't listed in the region. By the way, this is under 'formats' in 'Language & Text' in System Preferences. I noticed the 'custom' option at the very end of the list. However, I can't access it because it's grey. How do I activate this? Maybe custom is the solution to my problem. I can see French, German, etc..., but English isn't listed. I want English (Bahrain).
    Please help! I greatly appreciate it. Thank you, guys.

    Hi Uncle,
    Page 116 of the Pages'09 User Guide: Control Click the date, Edit Date and Time.
    Date and time can also be in a table. Format the table cell.
    The User Guide is well worth a read. Download it from the Help menu in Pages.

  • Problem of custom table model

    Hi,
    i m leaning JTable recently, following is an experimental code which i wrote, it has a custom table model and custom tablecellrenderer, the custom tablecellrender determine the column of # of Years greater or equal than 5 should display color green, less than 5 should display color red, it works well, however, the custom table model should be smart enough to know that the # of Years column contains numbers (which should generally be right aligned and have a particular format), it also should know that the Vegetarian column contains boolean values, which can be represented by check boxes, but it didn't, i don't know why, i have implement a getColumnClass method,
    but it seems not work, have i make any mistakes? Any idea? Thanks

    You need to write your custom TableCellRenderes/Editors for each type. And don't forget to register your custom renderes via myTable.setDefaultRendere().

  • JTable: Custom Table Model (pII)

    As was explained in pI, I'm creating a custom table model to overcome a few pitfalls I came across using the DefaultTableModel class, such as aligning cells, and getting certain columns to return only numeric type data. However, I've come upon a few roadblocks myself.
    How do I create each of the following methods:
    insertRow(int ow, int column)
    remove row(int row)
    addRow(Object[] rowData)Assuming that I decide to allow the user to add a column to the table, how would I create the methodaddColumn(Object columnName, Object[] columnData)And also, as I'm creating a custom table model, would I need to replicate DefaultTableModel's methods that inform the listeners that a change has been made to the table?
    Thanks!

    Thanks!
    I just got this response. Anyways, I found another solution that was, interestingly, from one of your threads written in 2005.
    This is what I did:
    // Letting the JTable know what each column stores and should return by
       // overloading the getColumnClass() method
       public Class getColumnClass(int column)
            if(recordsTable.getColumnName(column) == "Ranking")
              return Integer.class;
         /* Why do I keep ketting an IllegalArgumentException here? *
           * It keeps saying it cannot format given object as a Number */
            else if(recordsTable.getColumnName(column) == "Price () ")
              return Float.class;
         else
           return getValueAt(0, column).getClass();
       }However, another problem has arisen.
    The if method for the int column (Ranking column) works okay, and is even right-aligned. The else if arguments for the Price () column however is returning an IllegalArgumentException. This I just cannot figure out.
    Here's the code:package Practice;
      import java.awt.BorderLayout;
      import java.awt.Frame;
      import java.awt.Menu;
      import java.awt.MenuBar;
      import java.awt.MenuItem;
      import java.awt.MenuShortcut;
      import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;
      import java.awt.event.ActionListener;
      import java.awt.event.KeyEvent; // for MenuItem shortcuts
      import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter;
      import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;
      import java.awt.event.WindowListener;
      import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
      import javax.swing.JScrollPane; // JTable added to it, aiding flexibility
      import javax.swing.JTable; // The personally preferred GUI for this purpose
            // Provides a basic implementation of TableModel
      import javax.swing.table.DefaultTableModel;
              // This class uses Vector to store the rows and columns of data, though
              // programmer will be using LinkedLists
      import java.util.LinkedList;
      // User-defined classes
      import Practice.MusicDatabase;
      public class MusicBank extends Frame implements ActionListener
         MusicDatabase mDBase;
         Frame frame;
         String title = "",      // Frame's title
                file = "";           // pathname of the file to be opened
          // Declaring Menu and MenuItem variables
         Menu recordM; // ...
         // recordM
         MenuItem newRecordR_MI, deleteRecordR_MI;
         // Other irrelevant menus and sub items
        DefaultTableModel recordDetails;
        JTable recordsTable;
        LinkedList musicList;
        public MusicBank()
            musicList = new LinkedList();
            frame = new Frame(title);
            frame.setMenuBar(menuSystem());
            // Should user seek to close window externally
            frame.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter()
                 public void windowClosing(WindowEvent we)
                     frame.dispose();
                     System.exit(0);
         recordDetails = new DefaultTableModel();
         // Creating the relevant columns

  • How do you do custom table cell in IB?

    I want to avoid writing those custom table cells because its really a hassle. I see that in IB there are all the controls I need to make the cell (label, sliders etc) and there is even a table view, but I just cant figure out how to create that cell with all the controls in it and attach that cell to a tableview. They dont seem to integrate well in IB at all! Any one with any ideas?

    I'm a car dealer and I created the bill of sale for my dealership in a Numbers spread sheet. I want to be able to use my iPad mini w retina for customers to sign directly on my iPad then print out the BoS with signatures on it so I can make transactions easier for my customers in case I have to meet them somewhere instead of my office. Then I would have the ability to send them another copy if they happen to lose theirs without digging thru my files to find the hard copy and scan and send it to them.
    Thanks

  • For custom tables should we use UTC for date/time fields

    A general question.
    Can anyone confirm that SAP does seem to be moving towards storing date/time in UTC format?
    We're building custom tables and we're making it a standard to store date/time fields in UTC format.
    Regards,
    Lavaughn

    Hello Lavaughn,
    I can not speak for SAP, but from my personal experience TimeStamps are the state of the art to store time date info in db tables. Even with date/Time fields a conversion to the local timezone is necessary. Of course you can reuse your db definition on dynpros. But since UI and business logic will be divided anyway this is also not really a valid point.

  • Trapping the error records in a custom Table

    Hi,
    I am executing a report program. It is extracting different types of files - Invoice Header, Invoice line items, Customers, Master data attributes, Sales representative, Branch location data. Each file from different tables. In the selection screen we will be having check boxes for each file. The output is stored either on desktop or on application server in a file format.
    Here there are some mandatory fields for each file which should not be blank.
    For example there is one custom field for Sales Invoice header BUILDER which is mandatory. If it is blank then it will be an error record.
    We need to create a custom table with all these mandatory fields.
    Kindly pls help.

    Hi Abdul,
    this is a consulting issue, not an allowed question.

  • Calculated Percentage Columns in Pivot Table loose formating in Excel

    I have a simple report built using pivot table ( OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0)
    1 Metric and 1 dimension using pivot table. and I duplicated the metric column and change it to % column.(Show data as % of column). SO far so good. Below is the snapshot
    http://tinypic.com/r/2s14xa9/7
    Now i download the report in excel and all the % values are messed up . Below is how it looks
    http://tinypic.com/r/bede90/7
    I tried messing with data formats etc..nothing works.. I cannot add a custom column format to the metric column since it will impact the derived % column.
    Is this a bug ?Any pointers ..
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Follow up this SR:
    SR 3-5060435331: Calculated Percentage Columns in Pivot Table loose formating in Excel
    Workaround: (not sure may be give a try)
    also give a try like below one then try to download it may work.
    In that % column -->add the below statement in the Custom CSS section of the column properties:
    mso-number-format:"\@"
    Refer snapshot here:
    http://i53.tinypic.com/a09kqv.jpg
    This will treat the data in the column as text while downloading to excel, hence retaining any leading or trailing spaces.
    Thanks
    Deva
