Custom table Transport Request

Hi,
I have created a ztable and assigned a package and tranport request, then I have created table maintennance generator for the same table but saved the table maintenance generator under $TMP. As the table maitenance generator is not allowing to change the object directory entry, I have deleted the table maintenance generator and then freshly created the TMG for that table, this time I have given the package for TMG and the system haven't prompted any Transport request for my TMG and my TMG got saved(I guess it stored under the table request, but not sure).
My doubt is, does my transport request will have the table and the table maintenace generator in it or not..... if I transport the request will everything goes fine into the other system or not.

Why are you asking this question here ?
Did you check the TR in SE10 ? Was the Function Group you have given in the TMG included in the TR ?
If yes, it should be OK.

Inconsistent custom table transport movement

Hi All,
I have appended new records in two custom tables and moved it from development client to quality client using one transport request. Changes to one custom table are reflected whereas the other did not in quality client. What might have caused this issue?
And if i use a new transport request to correct the issue might create an other problem. Please suggest a fix for the issue at the earliest.

I have generated the TR by manually placing the values in TR. This is a workbench request. The delivery class is "A" and data class is USER. I was able to insert values in table using a maintenance view but was not able to include the table changes into TR.
The other custom table where values were transported properly has delivery class "A" and data class APPL1. I was able to manually maintain and attach values to a TR and it transported perfectly to quality client.

click on change object dirctory entries
tick the check box of R3TR TABL and enter table name
in below further restrictions
enter package as $tmp
then execute
click on ur table name and click on objects menu-->change object directory and enter the package name
and then activate ur table then it will ask TR no
so u can assign a Transport request no now

Transport Req for Customizing Table

Hi All,
Created one Customzing table & a table maintenance generator for that table.
Now my requirement is, whenever the user add/delete/modify any values to the table, Transport request have to be set in Development Client & to be transported to QAS & PRD System.
Please, help how this can be acheived.

Hi Anbalagan,
When you generate the table maintainance generator for this table there is a radiobutton for Recording Routine (at the bottom of the table maintainance generator screen). Select the 'Standard Recording Routine' radiobutton. Now whenever a user tries to use SM30 to add/change/delete values in the table, the system will ask for a Transport request to record the changes. You can then use this Transport request to move the table values to other systems.

I have create a table that can be maintained by sm30 in development system. How can I configure this table, so user can maintain this in development system only and create a customizing transport request to transport all data in this dev table to production.

Shekhar has given you the right answer. With the standard recording routine switched on you will be prompted everytime you save changes via SM30.
Have you re-generated the maintenance dialog since setting this flag?
Or, perhaps the client you are testing in does not have the automatic recording switched on (check in transaction SCC4, should have the setting Automatic recording of changes for your client).

Transport Request for Custom Table??

Hi all,
I got the requriment for Custom Table.
"The table should have attributes such as the table contents can be transported from DEV to QA to PROD. Also the table can be maintained individually in QA or PROD too"
I have understood that I need to have "Delivery Class" as "C". But i want to know what should Transport request type: (Workbanch or Customizing)

If table must be maintained in QA and PRD, you need "Delivery Class" as "A". With "Delivery Class" as "C" you can only maintain table in DEV and transport entrie changes to the other systems.

Prompt for transport request if records are added/modified for custom table

1. How do we prompt user to create a TR whenever he changes a record in my custom table
via SM30? my custom table has a maintenance type of 'C' - customizing already.
2. How do we transport the custom table contents to another client?

Regarding (1) just have a look at a standard maintenance view like V_T001W (SE11 -> menu Utilities -> Table Maintenance Generator ):
Here you can see that the option Standard Recording Routine is chosen which is responsible for prompting for a transport request as soon as records of the table/view are changed.

Create Workbench request only.
Because when u will transport the table from development server to quality that time table records won't transport.
We don't have any TR type to transport table with records.

Including transport request while modifying the custom table

Hello Experts,
I have a scnerio like, I have to insert/modify some records in my custom table. Now we want that these records should come under a transport request, so that we can track which records are for which user.
I am developing a report and including a parameter for transport request in the selection screen. So the report will take TR number directly from selection screen, but how to include it for the records inserted.

I think you did'nt understood my issue. I am not using and transaction. I am creating a report program which inserts new entries into my custom table based on the flat file on my presentation server.
Now I want these entries to be inside a transport request which is there in the selection screen.

How to Create Transport Request For custom table

I have and requirement to create transport request automatically when and record inserted in to the custom table.
Actually FI whe people create or delete some bank account from DEV client the transport request creates automatically and they transport that request to Quality and Production system to delete or create that account from all the systems. but when they delete the account all the informations related to that bank accounts get deleted from all the standered customize tables . to keep the track of that deleted account I have created one z table which is of type customize table. this table is filled automatically when any account get deleted from DEV system. now I want to pass that record to Quality and Production systems using transport request.
how can i create transport request when record get inserted into my ztable automatically.

Hello All,
This is a FAQ and has been answered many times before in the forum.
1. Maintain delivery class 'C' it will start asking for a TR: False. Delivery class has got nothing to do with the TR prompt. It determines how the data is to be transported. A delivery class 'C' will prompt for a customizing request, whereas a delivery 'A' will prompt for a workbench request.
2. For the system to automatically prompt for a TR you have to select the "Standard Recording Routine" in the table maintenance generator. This will prompt you for a TR every time you try to create / modify a record & save it to the DB.
Hope i am clear in my explanation.
If your table is filled automatically through some coding you have to add the entry to the TR programmatically. Table Maintenance View Transport Request

Hello everybody,
I need to use the table maintenance view for a customizing table without prompting for transport request is there a way to do this????, the customizing table is a Z table, the table was defined before like this because of the data in it, thanks in advance.

Hi Julio,
Sure: use SE11 for the Z-table, in menu Utilities->Table Maintenance generator and switch off the recording routine option.

Error in creating Transport Request for a view table

Hello all,
I have an ECC IDES 6.0 system named EC1 and another one which is ECC EhP4 IDES named EA1 which I have just installed.
One of my requesters has a view table named ZVAITM_TBLE in EC1 and she wants it to be transported to EA1.
So I created a workbench transport in SE10 and included the following:
PgmID = R3TR
Obj = VDAT
Object name = ZVAITM_TBLE
But when I press enter, I encountered the following error:
No object definition exists for Customizing object ZVAITM_TBLE
Message no. TK427
Diagnosis
The Customizing object R3TR VDAT ZVAITM_TBLE is not defined in the tables of the Change and Transport System.
This means that you cannot use the Transport Organizer to edit it.
System Response
The function terminates.
Procedure
First check whether the name of the object is correct. Then you (or the system administrator) should check the object definition, to ensure that the object was created correctly (transaction SOBJ).
If the object does not exist, then create it or delete it from the request/task.
I am new to transports so I have no idea how to proceed.
Please advise.

Customizing tables not asking for Customizing Request while saving data

Hi,
I have some customizing tables in my development server (Delivery Class = 'C').
These always used to ask for a Customizing Request whenever data was saved in them.
Suddenly, I have noticed they are no more asking for any Customizing Request. I cross-checked in the Transport Organizer and confirmed that there are no customizing requests of mine which may be already holding any data entries of these tables.
I wonder why this may be happening (believe it to be some basis configuration issue. also asked my basis guy but he has no clue).

My problem is now solved. Let me summarize the problem and the solution now.
-> The customization tables suddenly stopped asking for a request while saving data.
Somehow the settings had been reset, and as Gautham pointed out, it was corrected in the tcode SCC4
-> Most of the tables now worked fine, but still few of them didnt ask for requests
Here, I found out that the developers had chosen "no, or user, recording routine" instead of "standard recording routine". For such tables, when i check in the tcode SE54, menu path Environment -> Maintenance Objects -> Change, I find the Transport category 'No Transport'. Regenerating the maintenance generator choosing "standard recording routine" fixes this and the tables now ask for a customizing request.

How to transport records of custom table in SAP BI?

I creeated a custom table and entered some records there. Now I would like to transport it to production.
When I select the records and press 'transport records' the system doesnt allow me to save it under transport request.
The following error message pops up :
This is customization request but you need workbench one.
But I dont see any workbench requests in this window.

Go to SE09,
Select Create Request
It will ask for selection for type of request.
Select 'Workbench Request' and try with this request.

Instead of using FM 'TR_REQUEST_CHOICE', you can have direct database select on table E070 and E071.
In E070, the field TRFUNCTION determine the customizing and workbench request.
