Custom User Attributes

Hi,
1. How to add custom attributes to the Portal User. Like his SSN or some other info which is more specific to the client project.
2. How to set up a greeting for the logged in user like "Welcome <logged in user>" - "Welcome Portal30" or "Welcome User1". The edit defaults for banner has a greeting which can appear at the desired position, but how to write a pl/sql code to get the user using the api's.
Thanks

1. In the current release, user attributes are not extendable. In the 9iAS V2 timeframe we are moving to an LDAP based model for managing users which will provide this extensibility.
2. In 3.0.8 of the portal (9iAS 1.0.2.1), you can use page templates to define your banner to include data such as the user name. In that case, you define your banner as html in the template and turn off the default banner on the page.

  • How to migrate custom user attributes (UDF) from test environment to production when a sandbox is published

    Hi all,
    I like to migrate custom attributes from test environment to my production environment. I read OIM documentation and i tried to fallow these steps but I cannot export sandbox and import it because all sandboxes are published in the test environment.
    I exported and imported users metadata by deployment manager only. Now, all migrated attributes are in the OIM DB but I do not see these attributes in Administration Console.
    How can i solve this issue? Is it possible to export published sandbox and import it in the other environment?
    Thank you.
    Milan

    In OIM 11g R2 you need to export sandbox before publishing sandbox for custom user fields from DEV or TEST environment.
    Then import exported sandbox in the another environment.
    If you didn't exported custom user fields sandbox from your TEST or DEV in that case you need to create those again in another environment manually. There is no other option for this in OIM 11g R2.

  • Custom User Attributes stored?

    Hi,
    I would like to know which table in Database, user attributes like firstname, lastname, email, custom attributes if any are stored. I know that some of the attributes like islocked, failedlogonattempts are stored in <b>ATTR</b> field of <b>UME_STRINGS</b> and their values stored in <b>VAL</b> field  in the same table.
    Can anyone help me in identifying the table in which attributes stored and how altering the table to add extra custom attributes other than the <b>UME APIs</b>?
    Thanks in advance....
    Regards,
    Ganesh N

    Hi Ganesh
    I'm not sure why you'd want to get to the table(s) directly. Why not use the supported mechanism (APIs) rather than hope SAP never changes the underlying tables?
    Have you tried a SQL trace at the J2EE level?
    Cheers

  • Custom user registration form and custom user attributes.

    I am wondering if anyone out there has any experience creating a custom portal user self registration form. This form would contain some default user attributes that are in the standard form, but it would also need to contain user attributes that are custom to the application we are deploying. Just wondered if anyone has any experience with this or how it might work.
    Thank you,
    Craig

    I know this question has reaped no answers, so I thought I'd toss in a second request for the information. I have found no documentation on how to do this. Has anyone succeeded?
    Thanks!

  • To add custom user attributes in portal user details

    Hi,
    I am looking at the possibility of adding custom user information attributes in User details of Portal User. By default there are few tabs provided ( general, account info, contact info, additional information.....). I am planning to have another extra tab (custom tab with some custom fields ) to be developed and accessible through external application. My data source would be AS database.
    Not necessary that the custom fields to be visible in the UI. but should be manipulated programatically.
    Request inputs on feasibility and also the approach that could be followed.
    TIA,
    -Naresh

  • BPM 11g :: Active Directory custom user attribute binding

    Hello everyone,
    I'm having a special requirement from a customer who needs to make available on BPM an extended AD attribute (from the AD connected to WLS realm). As known, the standard user class does not have the possibility to read from extended User AD attributes but only from the standard ones.
    Does anyone know how to map a “UserExtendedAttribute1” from the AD to a “MyUserMappedAttribute” on BPM?
    Many thanks

  • Custom User Attributes not visible on user profile in OIM 11g

    hi ,
    As I have created a custom attribute in OIM11g. I am not able to view the attribute after I crate a User in OIM.
    Please help me in solving my issue .
    Thanks
    srikanth

    It's a very basic thing. Just try creating an Authorization Policy and you would know how to do it. For your refernce I am also pasting the excerpt from the same Metalink Article
    After creating the UDF, please follow the below steps to make the UDF visible for modification by an admin user:
    1. Navigate to create a new 'Authorization Policy'as below:
    a. Login to UI and click on Administration
    b. On the top left you will see the Authorization Policy tab
    c. Now click on Create Authorization Policy
    2. Please use the below information to create the Authorization Policy
    a. Name: UDF policy
    b. Entity Name: User Management
    c. Permissionsc. Permissions:
    i. Modify User Profile
    ii. View User Profile
    Please make sure that the UDF is selected in the attributes for these permissions.
    d. Data Constraints: All Users
    e. Policy assignment: All Users
    3. Create a user called "useradmin' and add the below 2 roles:
    a. All Users (This is default)
    b. Identity User Administrators (This will provide the administrative tab to this user so that he can administer other users)
    4. Create another end user called 'testuser1' populations the necessary fields.
    5. Now login as 'useradmin'
    6. Search for a user called 'testuser1' and open the user.

  • How to access custom ume user attributes via VC?

    Hi guys,
    I configured a custom user attribute within the ume configuration:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/de/44/0316d50bbe025ce10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm">Adding Custom Attributes to the User Profile</a>
    Now, how can I access this attribute within my VC model (user data)?
    Thanks for your ideas
    Benny

    Hi,
    Regarding adding properties to user data control, i have the following information. But i am not sure, whether it will be helpful to you.
    You can add a personalise property/User mapping property into a user data control.
    Drag a User data component, go to configure and click the + sign at the bottom of User parameters.
    You can add any personalised properties to the user data (with valid data types and allowed values). Then can use the property in any formula.
    When iView is opened in portal, the personalise property of that particular iView is used to change the property value
    Hope it helps.

    Sooraj

  • Oracle OIM Adding Custom Field like manager to user attributes

    Hi,
    I want to add a user custom attribute to the OIM user screen.
    I need the filed to behave like the "manager id" field - I need magnifier glass right to next to the field and I need to open user search to select a value.
    We are able to add user defined field but I can't find how to add the search capabilities.
    Thanks

    1-In the User Attributes page, from the Actions menu, select Create Attribute.
    2-In the Set Attribute Details :
    2.1-Category Name: Custom Attributes.
    2.2-Display Type: List of values(LOVs)
    2.3-
    LOV Type(´search capabilities' )
    2.3.1-System Generated
    2.3.2-Admin Configured
    2.3.3-By Query
    I hope this helps,

  • How to fill customized user information attribute (krb5principalname)???

    Hello,
    we have successfully implemented Kerberos Authentification (SPNego) in SAP Portal
    but now have to fill user attribute krb5principalname in ~500 Users.
    How can this be done?
    Is there any possibility to do this by Database-Script or ABAP or Java-Code?
    Are there any other user mass change solutions out there?
    Thank you very much for your ideas!
    Regards,
    Dominik

    Hello Dominik,
    We have had a similar requirement and did a file with the following code in it.
    [User]
    uid=p00000001
    com.sap.security.core.usermanagement:krb5principalname=************;
    [User]
    uid=p00000002
    com.sap.security.core.usermanagement:krb5principalname=************;
    [User]
    uid=p00000500
    com.sap.security.core.usermanagement:krb5principalname=*************;
    Repeat the above block of the code for all the 500 users and put it in a note pad in the same format.
    Now logon to Portal with "User Administration" role and navigate to User Administration-->Import
    Click the "Overwrite Existing data" checkbox and select the notepad with all the 500 users and click "Upload".
    This only takes a while and will update all the user records. Before uploading the file for all the 500 users, first test the process with 5 users and proceed accordingly.
    I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need any further help in this.
    Regards,
    Gopal.

  • Customized User Profiles not loading for Network Users

    I manage Macs in public computer labs and classrooms at a university. My general set up is as follows:
    Clients are running 10.8.5, OD Masters are running 10.7.5. Open Directory Master to manage client preferences for Login window and screen saver. Clients bind to Active Directory for authentication purposes only. Networked users home directories are stored locally then deleted at log out. Using Deploy Studio to image and restore clients.
    My customized user profiles are stored in /User Templates/Non_Localized.lproj.(I also update English.lproj for any local users that may need to be created for various reasons).
    Recently I have come across a situation where, randomly, my customized user profile does not load at Login, and I am given the out-of-the-box default Apple profile. This is happening in 11 of my 14 labs. I have three labs that seem to not be affected by this.
    On some labs I manage the DHCP, some labs I do not, and rely on our Networking group to supply DHCP and DNS. Because of this setup I have six different DNS server that may be in the mix. Two are Unix boxes, the other four are the Active Directory Domain Control servers. I did create a spreadsheet of all the AD/OD settings for each lab to see if I could find some kind of pattern, but don't see a way to upload it.
    The one thing I do notice is that when I do a mass login using a shell script via Apple Remote Desktop, when the profile fails to build correctly, the user login is quick, much quicker than when the correct profile loads. Almost as if a packet is sent the the OD server, it's rejected, and bam, Apple's default profile loads.
    I have flushed the DNS cache of the local clients using killall --HUP mDNSResponder
    I've got one week to figure this out before classes start, so if you have a clue as to what's going on, I sure would be grateful.
    Here are logs from both the admin's account and the user's account when the default profile fails to build:

  • Issue in mapping custom user profile property with AD field in SharePoint 2013

    Hello,
    I am trying to map a custom user profile property i created "ADSecurityGroups", type - String, Multivalue with the AD propoerty named "memberOf" via powershell.
    UserProfile Service is up and running, and so is the Synchronization Service. User executing the powershell has full control on the User Profile Service and is the farm administrator.
    Following is the code snippet i grabbed from the internet which i am trying to execute.
    Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.Powershell -ErrorAction "SilentlyContinue"
    $url = "http://<servername:port>/" #URL of any site collection that is associated to the user profile service application.
    $spsProperty = "ADSecurityGroups" #Internal name of the SharePoint user profile property
    $fimProperty = "memberOf" #Name of the attribute in FIM/LDAP source
    $connectionName = "UserProfileSyncConnection" #Name of the SharePoint synchronization connection
    $site = Get-SPSite $url
    if ($site)
        Write-Host "Successfully obtained site reference!"
    else
        Write-Host "Failed to obtain site reference"
    $serviceContext = Get-SPServiceContext($site)
    if ($serviceContext)
        Write-Host "Successfully obtained service context!"
    else
        Write-Host "Failed to obtain service context"
    $upManager = new-object Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.UserProfileConfigManager($serviceContext)
    if ($upManager)
        Write-Host "Successfully obtained user profile manager!"
    else
        Write-Host "Failed to obtain user profile manager"
    $synchConnection = $upManager.ConnectionManager[$connectionName]
    if ($synchConnection)
        Write-Host "Successfully obtained synchronization connection!"
    else
        Write-Host "Failed to obtain user synchronization connection!"
    Write-Host "Adding the attribute mapping..."
    $synchConnection.PropertyMapping.AddNewMapping([Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.ProfileType]::User, $spsProperty, $fimProperty)
    Write-Host "Done!"
    The script is failing with the following error -
    new-object : Exception calling ".ctor" with "1" argument(s): "UserProfileApplicationNotAvailableException_Logging ::

    Please let me know if i am missing anything.
    Also advise if this is the correct way to map user profile attribute in SP 2013 ?
    Thanks -
    Girish

  • OIF11g - Help on sending user attributes in HTTP header

    Hello, I have a OIF11g setup configured for both IdP and SP. Upon successfull authentication against LDAP, I need to end some user attributes on the HTTP header to the SP application. I do no have OAM in my setup, so there is no option of Webgate or Policy Manager to do that. As far as I read the config doc, I'm in the impression that we need to write a custom authentication engine to accept user credentials and code to authenticate against LDAP and also add attributes to the response header.
    Before I go down that path, just wanted to confirm if anybody has done this with OIF?
    Thanks,
    Sunil.

    Bernhard:
    Actually the headers are not set to null. I have an intermediate index.jsp page which is the first page that is redirected to by the AM - it is this page which calls my LoginServlet.
    The value appears consistently on this index.jsp page but after it is forwarded to the LoginServlet it starts behaving inconsistently. I check the system.out log in my websphere /logs folder and that tells me that LoginServlet does not consistenly get these values from the header.
    The wierd part is that if I use cookies or attributes, it works perfectly - each time every time. However, only in the case of headers (which is the method i am required to do) it behaves inconsistently.
    ANY feedback/help on this would be really appreciated bern.. thanks..
