I had my favorite actress record my custom voicemail greet (Iphone 6), but in all of the hustle and bustle, I didn't tap the 'save' button. Is there a miracle I can pray for? I assume it never existed in the device, but it DID record. Anybody??? It was recorded on March 25. 2015 around 10:45-ish (in NYCon 45th street), if that matters at all. Not like I can call her up and get her to do it again. Desperation, here, people!!

I went in to voicemail, signed up with my pin and then opened it up clicked on custom greeting pressed record, she said the greeting, I pressed stop. There was a red line when I pressed stop. It was in the voice m ail app. I just forgot, being so nervous and all to press record.

  • How do you save a custom voicemail greeting when upgrading?

Upgrading my iPhone 5s to a 6 plus and need to save my custom voicemail greeting which was recorded by a celebrity. Don't  know the custom voicemail greeting is stored and don't want to lose it.

    Hey Reindeerdad!
If you are just looking to preserve that greeting, you could try www.SaveMyVM.com.  They can create a digital recording of that greeting for you.
However, there is also some third-party software you can install on your mac that gives you the ability to extract voicemail messages from your iPhone.  I'm not sure if it works for greetings, but I think it probably would here is a link: How To: Save Your iPhone's Voicemails For Safekeeping | pinglio
    I hope that helps!

  • My friends iphone 5 will not allow them to change their custom voicemail greeting

My friend has his iphone 5 (Verizon) updated to 7.0.3 and is unable to change his voicemail greeting.
When he tries to record a new one and then hits stop, it doesn't actually record it, because he hits play and it plays back the old one.
We've tried these below without any success:
-Switching the greeting to default and then back to custom
-Doing a hard reset of the phone (holding power and home button simultaneously)
-We've tried to dial *86, but when we call we get "Could not complete your call, please try again"
-We've also tried the following steps below (from Verizon)
    =============
    Visual Voicemail
On iPhone, visual voicemail lets you see a list of your messages and choose which ones to listen to or delete, without having to listen to instructions or prior messages.Note: Visual voicemail may not be available in all countries or regions, or may be an optional service. Contact your carrier for more information. If visual voicemail isn’t available, tap Voicemail and follow the voice prompts to retrieve your messages.
Number of missed calls and unheard voicemail messages appears on the Home screen Phone icon.
    Setting Up Voicemail
The first time you tap Voicemail, iPhone prompts you to create a voicemail password and record your voicemail greeting.
    Change your greeting:
1 Tap Voicemail, tap Greeting, then tap Custom.
2 Tap Record when you’re ready to start.
3 When you finish, tap Stop. To review, tap Play. To rerecord, repeat steps 2 and 3.
    4 Tap Save.

    Any thoughts? Thanks.

hahaha he really is my friend (he's an older guy that's technologically inept). I'm tech-savy (hence why he asked me), but I was unable to get this working. Thanks for the advice, I've told him to go into a Verizon store.

  • Issue with Custom Voicemail Greeting

I change my voicemail's custom greeting everyday to reflect the day and date, however I've recently noticed (maybe since 2.0.1 update) that when I press the record button it doesn't respond and I have to "reboot" my iPhone to record a new greeting.
I never had a problem with version 1 of the iPhone in this regards and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the two last updates. I heard that the visual voicemail works via EDGE, so I turned off 3G and the WiFi connection to no avail.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Thanks

    anyone?

  • Can the iPhone 4 with iOS5, have more than one custom voicemail greeting?

Is it possible to put more than one custom greeting on the iPhone 4 with iOS 5?  I sometimes would like certain people to know where I am or what I'm doing so they may take the opportunity to join me without me answering the phone each time it rings when I'm hosting a seminar or teaching a class. I would like to record a couple of responses that I could pick from, but don't know if that is possible.  Thanks!

iPhone and carriers do not natively support this. You have to use a third party application from the App Store to take advantage of this feature, which is possible via an application such as YouMail. It's free in the app store. I'm sure there are others like that available as well.

  • Custom voicemail recording doesn't work

my iphone is two weeks old. i recorded a custom voicemail greeting when i first got it and now want to re-record. the keypad for the voicemail is no longer sensitive and the voicemial has now gone to the default mode. resetting has not helped. any suggestions??

    J,
There definitely are problems with Custom Page sizes. I don't have enough specifics to formulate what I would consider good feedback to Apple, something that they could easily act on.
I can tell you that if you set your System Preferences > International > Formats > Measurement Units: US and Set your Pages > Preferences... > Rulers > Ruler Units: Inches, you can create the size you want and it will stay selected and not pop back to the default. Here's what I have:
Again, I know that there's a problem. If you wish, you can use the setup I outlined and get the job done and later take up the cause of fixing whatever is going on with the CM units.
To Fruhulda, you noted that 9 cm by 6 cm is a size that fails as J described - and I confirmed here. However to get a successful size I found that I could use 3.53" X 2.35" (8.97CM X 5.97CM), a very close compromise. There clearly are problems with measurement units in Page Setup.
    Regards,
    Jerry

  • Resetting Voicemail Greeting

I accidentally saved my initial attempt at a 'Custom' voicemail greeting, and now I am unable to record another. Does anyone know how to clear a current custom greeting so that I can simply record a new one? Currently, tapping the 'record' button, does not do anything.
    Thanks.

Why don't you just dial your iPhone number from a regular and when the current recording comes on hit *. You should then enter your password. You can do all the things regarding recorded messages from a regular phone and therefore avoid any possible glitches related to any cell phone.
The recording is from AT&T and not from your cell phone.
I have done it this way for the last 8 years and have had no problems.

  • How can I set up a default (pre-recorded) voicemail greeting on iphone 4s?

How can I set up a default (pre-recorded) voicemail greeting on iphone 4s?i dont want a custom one with my voice i want the pre-recorded where a lady says my number . how do i get that?

Voicemail is a cell phone carrier function.  Contact your carrier to see if they have this option.  If not, i'm sure you can download a sound file from the internet with a greeting and add your name.  Then play it back on you PC while holding your iPhone near the speaker when recording the greeting to voicemail.

  • Want to UPLOAD recorded voicemail greeting file from my computer.

Hi. First post here.  I've been a Uverse customer (TV, internet, and voice) for a few weeks now. I started a thread on dslreports.com on this topic. Thought I would raise it here for potentially broader Uverse audience. There is a pretty cool feature on the Uversecentral web pages for managing your voicemail in which you can hear your current voicemail greeting as a WAV file played on your computer's speakers. I want the inverse. I want to ability to UPLOAD an audio file of my custom greetings (WAV, mp3, whatever they will accept)  from my computer and have it become my greeting.  In other words,  I do NOT want to use the telephone as the recording device.  And I do not want to re-record my custom greeting files. This idea came about while listening to a favorite weekend radio show. Some lucky caller to the radio show who wins the little contest gets to have the famous announcer on the show studio-record (and presumably delivered electronically) the winners home answering machine greeting.  There are also professional recording services available for recording greetings of which I might wish to take advantage. It makes sense to me that AT&T would have the ability to allow customers to upload to their own voicemailbox greeting that has been recorded and edited using the superior tools available for computer audio editing.  If they can give me a WAV file, they should be able to take one in return. I could keep a library of my desired greetings on my computer and upload the one I want from my hotel room, wherever I am in the world.  That would be particularly useful when I am  out of the country.  Adding whatever sounds I want (some of my own music compositions, for example) to my greeting would be a snap with the ability to manage my greetings on my own computer. If there is already a way to do this, someone let me know. Otherwise,  anybody else interested in this capability?

I just started researching the ability to upload a mobile voicmail message via computer and found this thread.  It looks like there hasn't been any activity in years.  If the thread is monitored I was wondering if there was any update?  This should be straight-forward functionality to implement, though I understand the investment may be based on the actual demand for the service.  Any update from other users or AT&T personnel monitoring the forum would be great.  Probably like many who have requested this service, I have different outgoing messages I would like to use depending on circumstances and do not want to re-record, or hold the phone up to a speaker to make the recording each time.  Being able to upload a file would be a perfect solution.  In fact, allowing me to upload a number of them and then select which one I want to use via my phone would be idea.

  • On iPhone 5s, since updating to 8.02, when accessing the phone's voicemail greeting section, the greeting, voicemail and dial pad freezes up. Requires restart of device to regain access to phone app. Greeting section can not be accessed.

    Hello -
I've never had any issues at all with my iPhone 5s. After I ran the IOS 8.02 update, everything seemed fine. Yesterday afternoon (about 8 hours after the update), I went to update my voicemail greeting. So I can open the phone app just fine, use the phone with calls, listen to voicemails, etc., but as soon as I tap the GREETING within the voicemail section, everything in the phone app freezes up. Shutting down and restarting the app does not help. I have to restart the entire iPhone to regain access to the phone app. Interestingly, I can receive a call during this 'freeze' by tapping the ANSWER button during the incoming call. Just can not make outgoing calls, listen to voicemails, etc.
During this freeze, a message occasionally appears stating that the greeting server can not be reached.
    Beyond that, no ideas.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you.

I am having this issue too.  Have you happened to find a solution?
I can transfer them via airdrop to the computer, but that takes a heck of a long time.

  • Change voicemail greeting wav file name

I know nothing about unity and was wondering the following:
We have a user that set up her voicemail greeting on a phone that had someone elses name, the greeting file has the previous person's name, but the new persons message.
Is it possible to keep the greeting, rename it and use if for the new person, or does it have to be redone?
Also, how do I determine if someone has any voicemail messages that can be saved?

Just look at the subscriber greeting and download the file via the media bar, if you need to use it for other subscriber using the media bar you can upload the file.
