Customer bounced/NSF check

How do I void a customer's bounced check that has been deposited with this scenario...
The check was deposited 8/28 and then my bank debited my account 9/2 because the check was insufficient.
I try to cancel the deposit but the date goes back to the original deposit date, I want to reflect a 9/2 cancel date.

There are only two options to cancel a check: the creation date or posting date. In other words: the original date or current date. You have to decide which one would be more close to what you need.

Customer NSF checks

One of our customers recently converted from Sage BusinessWorks (BW) to SAP Business One. In most areas, the functionality improvement has been substantial. However, the processing of customer NSF (non-sufficient funds) checks has been disappointing. I've reviewed some of the other threads about returned checks on the Community Network, but none seems to offer a good overall solution to the problem. I'm hoping someone might suggest another approach.
In BW, if a customer's check bounces because of non-sufficient funds, the user goes into the AR section, enters the customer code and the customer check number, and can void it. This reopens the invoice(s) paid with the check to the original date (so that the aging is correct), debits the AR account, and credits cash to match the bank statement.
There is no need to undo an entire bank deposit, create another invoice which mis-state revenues, and the bank reconciliation is still valid. It's all very easy in BW, but not so in SAP Business One, especially if bank deposits contain more than single customer checks.
Has anyone else struggled with this, and perhaps found a better solution?

I do not take credit for this - it is a solution from Vision33 - the company we use for our implementation and who up keeps our SAP Business One. We are pretty happy with the services we receive from them.
Tips and Tricks: How to Record NSF Checks
In SAP Business One, there are two options for recording NSF checks.
Option 1:
     · Open the deposit form, right-click, and select Cancel. This will reverse the deposit
          process, credit the bank account, and debit the checks clearing account.
     · Now you can cancel the Incoming Payment that applies to this check. This will credit
          the checks clearing account, debit the customer, and reopen the invoice.
     · When the customer sends a new check, simply create a new incoming payment
          based on the original invoice.
Option 2:
     · This option applies when canceling the deposit is not an option because there are
          multiple checks in the same deposit.
     · Create a new incoming payment; this time, it will be a payment on account, and the
          check amount will be negative.
     · Deposit the check into the bank account. This transaction will reverse the original
          deposit transaction, credit the bank account, and debit the checks clearing account.
     · When the customer sends a new check, create a new incoming payment and apply
          the negative incoming payment you created earlier.
I have personally used Option 2 and do not have a problem when we received the repayment. You can always reference the invoice number on the Journal Entry under Ref 1, 2 or 3.

Customer payment: voided check. still in clear items

Gurus...
We paid a customer with two checks sent out last month. The checks were returned to us and we voided and stop-paid them. However it's still showing in the system as "paid" in the customer detail. that is in FBl5n its in cleared items.
So now we have wired the money to them but I have nothing to apply it against
When we void a check shouldn't there be a method to reopen the other documents that were paid by this. kind of original invoice reopening.
How can I force this to happen for the current situation? do i need to take care in some other way?
Please explain how to go about now.

In SAP, you can void the check but not reversing the payment or reverse the payment and void the check at once. In this case, I guess that you just voided the check (FCH9) but not reversing the payment. You should have used FCH8 to void and reverse the payment at the same time.
For now, reverse the old payment using FBRA (reset and reverse function)

checking some automatic check like 0750 I see in SolMan there are some tabs like Green, Red, Recommendation (0705)
checking the Customer specific auth Checks I found out only some of them.... I would be interested to know if it is possible to configure "something" in order to have the tab Recommendation (9XXX) for Customer specific auth Checks .

Hi,
I still test and no quit sure if I am doing the right process...what I have done:
use st13 to create my own alerts > 9000.
use st14 for creating the report on target system... I check on the target system and by viewing data of the generated report there is a list of users because security specification > 9000.
export report to SolMan ... successfully
on SolMan ... what are the steps that I have to do?..I am not quit sure ... I go to session workbench ...here there are already some info of the previous check that I did days before ...... I click on the option collect data (ST13, ST14)..I delete the old number and introduce the new GUI Number and click on collect button... the rest of the fields are filled in ... and no additional message appear..
one of the existing entries on the left side is Customer specific Auth check ...it is in red..
being on the collect data (ST13, ST14) entry I just click on save + next open check an the focus/cursor jump automatically to the last entry check session consistency I do not identify any change in the entry Customer specific Auth check which still red and not showing the expected list ( what I see in target system)

hi,
you can go to transaction PM01 and edit the PS structure. go to the entry help check tab and press the search help button on that. Assign the Z table with the key fields referencing the field for which you are putting on the F4 help.
Generally it maps automatically.

Error for customer specific Authorization check (User Exit)

Dear Experts,
I am facing a problem in PM.
I have created a maintenace plan for calibration via t code IP42 and mentioned the order type PM05. Scheduling is done for the order. I got the order number.
I have released the order and got the inspection lot number.
While entering the results recording through t code QE17, the reluts are out of the specified range, i have given the valuation Rejected, immediately system is giving an error message as below:
"Error for customer specific Authorization check (User Exit)"
Though there is no user exit activated in the system, this message is coming and not allowing the result recoring for rejection.
If I'm entering the result recording within the specified range, then valuation is Accepted and its allowing to save.
I have checked the following user exits:
QQMA0002: QM: Authorization Check for Entry into Notif. Transaction
QQMA0026: PM/SM: Auth. check when accessing notification transaction.
The above 2 User Exits are not active.
I have also checked a note 429066. But it says incase of any dump for that user exit only its applicable and more over the current version of the system is ECC 6.0 packae 15, where as that note is applicable upto 4.6C.
Please some one help me on this issue.

I have cheked with my technical team, There is no hotpacks updated recently. This is the implementaion project I'm in, so performing the cycle for the first time.
Any how I got it solved, in T code QE17, after entering the Inspection lot in next screen goto menu path Settings - User settings - Defects recording mention the reprt type and tick on Reprt type Changable.
At the time of result recording if the valuation is Rejected then it ask for defects recording close that window if not rwequired then save, the error message no longer apperaing now.

How can I stop a task sequence if a custom HTA preflight check fails?

In our currently deployment method, we launch an HTA program before initiating the OSD process. This is only when run from the RAP menu, not via PXE. When a user initiates OSD through that menu, they get a message prompting them to close Outlook, and
a countdown of 5 mins, then OSD starts. They also have the ability to click on an 'OK' button to proceed on their own.
I've created a new script which checks WMI if Outlook and/or OCS are open, and if the machine is running on battery, spit out a "Failed" response and stop the HTA. I've also added a "recheck" button to re-do the check, and an 'OK
button if people jsut want to continue.
I'm curious if there is a way to prevent the task sequence from continuing if any of those conditions arent met. Currently it just pops up and says "Failed, Cannot conitue", but if they close the window, the task sequence thinks the program
has run, and the OSD migration starts. I'd like to be able and get the script to cancel the OSD process if a check fails.
Has anyone had success with this, using WINXP? I'd use the MS pre-flight check but it's only for WIN7.

Where we r customizing for Payroll Checks

Hi,
I made changes to the Program assigned to F110(Automatic Payment Run). I want make sure that these changes not effected the Payroll Checks. can anyone guide me where we are assigning the Program and Layout for the Payroll Checks. I want to give the Technical Details about this to My Manager. I know these changes won't effect to the Payroll Checks.
Please Guide me.

What program did you change? for Payroll checks, the Program used is RFFOUS_C and the Custom Layout set if any is assigned on the selection screen under 'Output Control'.. otherwise ist is the std F110_PRENUM_CHK. More often than not we will be using custom layout sets...

Credit control field not visible in customer master after checking Spro

Hello Gurus,
I have configured Automatic Credit Control In IMG.
I have checked all the necessary spets required for the avtivation of Automatic Credit Control.
But I am facing in problem and will appreciate all your help for this problem.
In Customer master> Sales area data> Billing Document--> delivery and payment terms. Within delivery and payment terms the feild for credit control area is not visible.
I have checked in spro>financial accounting> Ac rec & Ac payable>customer account>master data>preparation for creating customer master> define account groups with screen laypouts (customers).
Within Define account groups with screen laypouts (customers)>account group 001(soldtoparty)details>field status>sales data>billing-->Hedging and credit contr. area I have tried it with optional as well as reuired entry and still the credit control field is not visible in customer master.
Pls provide me the steps as well as solutions for the problem.

Add customer button to check status screen

hi everyone
i'm quite new in developing srm and need your help.
my customer wants me to put a new customer button on the check status web screen at item level which is supposed to work like the print button.
so if i want to integrate this customer button do i have to modify the screen and html template? as far as i know there is no customer exit for this?!

<b>The addition of a new button for a new process means modification to standard screens, HTML templates used in the relevant Internet (Web) Services and the releavnt source code.
Addition of button can only be done through ITS Template change.Please look in the Internet services say - BBP_BID_INV (for Bid Invitations) Or for service - BBPSC01 (shopping cart) for the exact template in whcih you want to add the button</b>
<b>You have to define a new button in the screen and in the template. Then assign to it an OK_CODE and manage it in the PBO of the screen.</b>
There is no BADI which can do this as this is not a SAP funtionality. You need to do a little bit of research on this to get the job done.
<b>As a start step, You can use the BADIs - BBP_CUF_BADI and BBP_CUF_BADI_2 to change the display from customer-defined fields to the SAP standard screen. This BAdI enables you to control whether the fields can be edited, and how they are displayed.</b>
MODIFY_SCREEN method will Show/hide field display and restrict edit options.

Customer master maintenace checking

Hi All Expert,
I want add the following checking to the Customer Master Maintenance,
1. Customer Group and each User ID can create / Modify / View some group of customer
2. Customer group will add to the single role for each UserID
3. When create Customer master using XD01, check the user 's single role authorization objects KNA1-BEGRU, if not same, cannot save.
4. For XD02/XD03, if user's single role authorization object not same, cannot view the customer master.
Please tell me which Enhancement or User Exit I can apply the above checking?

Use this user exit for your requirements for XD01.

For XD02/XD03 use Authorization objects. Consult with your basis consultant about Authorization Objects.

Add custom fields in check status

Hi Gurus,
Please help me out in this. My requirement is I need to add two custiom fields in the check status (bbpsc04) and based on the values entered in the custom fields I need to search for the shopping carts.
Please let me know how to add two fields in the check status and fetch the data based on the values entered in the custom fields.

Hi Andy,
first you need to make the customer fields for the shopping cart (header or item level) I assume that's already done.
Now to add the customer fields to the <u>extended</u> search you need to do the following:
1. Define the customer field in include:
a. SC HEADER INCL_EEW_PD_SEARCH_HDR_CSF_SC
OR
b. SC ITEM INCL_EEW_PD_SEARCH_ITM_CSF_SC
you have to set fields XINPUT and XDISPLAY to 'X' in table ET_FIELDS for the fields you want to use in BADI BBP_CUF_BADI_2 in method MODIFY_SCREEN. The fields defined this way are displayed if you choose the 'Extended search' link.
Refer to note 672960 - "User-defined fields 2" For more detailed instructions.

NSF Check - How to reverse a deposit due to a bad check?

We received a check from a business partner and made deposit against an invoice. Two weeks later we got notice of insufficent funds from our bank. We contacted the customer and they have given a credit card number for us to process re-process the payment.
What is the best process to handel this transaction? Do we have to "cancell" the incomming payment/ deposit? Do I have to duplicate the original invoice?

There are two steps in reversing the check which got returned...
1. Cancel the Deposit. Before your select cancel on the deposit make sure the Posting Period of the original deposit is the same as current. If the deposit was made in the previous month then you need to change the posting period.
2. Then Open the Incoming Payment associated with this and cancel the Incoming Payment.
Your Invoice will not be available for processing through Credit Card
