Customer groups & customer hierarchies.

hi all ,
can any one pl guide me what excatly customer groups & customer hierarchies are all about .
could you  pl help out in config .
In which buiness scenario do we require customer groups & customer hierarchies.
Regards .
jerry .

Hi jerry
Customer groups
We use customer groups to group several customers into 1group . For example , if we have a customer groups wholesales buyers and retail buyers and we want to segregate the customers who are wholesale buyers and who are retail buyers then through Customer group it is possible
Even if you want to give a additional discount to the wholesale buyers and not to retail groups then you can maintain a key combination of customer groups to the access sequence and assign it to the  discount condition type. Now when you maintain VK11 , you can maintain discount to wholesale buyers .
Customer hierarchies
These are basically used for reporting purposes

    Hi All,
I have never done customer Hierarchies in SAP I need to do for one of my clinets. Can someone has some write up including screenshots regarding the basics, config to be done, master data and transaction data , condition records etc to be maintained.

    hi,
All the customizing is in SD/Master Data/Business Partner/Customers/Customers hierarchy
    1) Define hierarchy type: just put and ID and a name to the new hierarchy.
    2) Set partner determination: if you want to user the hierarchy in price determination, then, in the orders, at the header level, you have to have a Partner Procedure with a partner function for each level. In the partner procedure, in each partner function you must indicate the source partner function. With this information, in the order, you obtain the business partner for each partner function.
    3) Assign account groups: you indicate which accounts groups are allowed for being part or your hierarchy.
    4) Assign sales areas: simple you indicate which sales areas are allowed in your hierarchy. (Here you can customize common sales areas, just for not having to build de hierarchy in all the different sales areas).
    5) Assigning hierarchy type for pricing: you indicate which classes of documents uses hierarchy in pricing determination.
It is possible to maintain so called customer hierarchies. This might be useful when for example you create a condition discount for a customer that is part of such a hierarchy structure. All sub nodes in the hierarchy below that customer, will thus receive the same discount.
Customer hierarchy setup, firstly decide the hierarchy type to be used.
    The standard is type A.
You can also assign a partner function to the customer so that the higher level customer in the hierarchy is copied into a sales order as a partner function - but you don't need that right?
Next assign your customer account group to the hierarchy type. And enter the combinations that will be allowed for creating the hierarchy.
You want to assign a ship-to to a payer. So enter the ship to account group and enter the payer account group as the higher level.
You must also make an entry for permitted sales area assignments. So if you want to a hierarchy for customers in the same sales area then enter the sales area and enter the same one as the higher level sales area.
All these settings can be found in the IMG. Under SD - master data - business partners - customers - customer hierarchy
You use for example customer hierarchy when you have an company like Unilever and you agree both on a discount. Unilever does have different locations / businesses and you have to maintain the discount for all customers. If you use a customer hierarchy you can maintain the discount for the partner in the top of the hierarchy and in this way it will be valid for all customers in the hierarchy.
Customer hierarchies are available in Sales and Distribution, so that you can create flexible hierarchies to reflect the structure of customer organizations. If your customer base includes multi-level buying groups, cooperatives, or chains of retail outlets, for example, you can create hierarchies to reflect the structure of these groups. Use customer hierarchies during sales order processing and billing for determining pricing and running statistics.
 A customer hierarchy consists of nodes.
 To create a customer hierarchy:
    1. Create master records for each node.
    2. Assign the nodes to each other.
    3. Assign the customer master records to the relevant nodes.
 Hierarchy nodes are only valid for a certain period of time. They may also be moved. If a node is moved, the system automatically reassigns all related nodes and customer master records.
With customer hierarchies, you can assign price or rebate agreements to a higher level node. The agreements are then valid for customer’s at all subordinate levels to this node. You can create pricing condition records for each node indicated as relevant for pricing. If one or more nodes in the hierarchy path of a sales order contain pricing information, the system takes them into account automatically during pricing.
    'How to check'
All the customizing is in SD/Master Data/Business Partner/Customers/Customers hierarchy
    try_this_link_too
*on your Q about 'how many nodes/customer', answer is they can be till infinity, you decide the nodes as per business requirements.

  • Reg: Custom Hierarchies in Designer

    Hi,
I am working on BOXI 3.0, Using Designer client tool i have created universe by using the BI query connection. Using same BI query to customize the hierarchy level. In designer have the option for  custom hierarchy "Hierarchies". I have customized the hierarchy structure and using the universe in to Web Intelligence. In custom hierarchy have no relationship between the objects. So, the data would displayed not properly by using the query filter in Webi. It shows like separate fields based on the filter. There is no relationship.
I need help for creating custom hierarchy in designer, how to create ?
    Please help me for this.
    Regards
    Prakash T

    Hi Prakash,
Procedure for creating Custom Hierarchies is the same as Default Hierarchy. In custom hierarchy you can combine objects from different classes which is unlikely for default hierarchy which are generally trend based.
Hierarchies are used to drill data based on different hierarchy levels like Region
    i.e. Continent->Country-> State->City
if you donu2019t have relationship between objects, means table are not joined on common fields then WEBI will create Cartesian product for the object from 2 different in tables involved in the query. Even the data generated by the query is grouped on the objects involved in the query
Definition of hierarchy says u201CA hierarchy is an ordered series of related dimensions.u201D
Please elaborate more on statement u201CIn custom hierarchy has no relationship between the objectsu201D and. u201CIt shows like separate fields based on the filter. There is no relationshipu201D
If you are combining different objects from different classes in to the hierarchy, check the General Drill option under u201Cpreferences->WEB Intelligence Document.
    1) Prompt if drill requires additional data and
    2) Synchronize drill on report blocks.
if you are using multiple hierarchies altogether then whenever WEBI faces situation like which hierarchy to follow it will prompt user which hierarchy to use to drill down.
    Thanksu2026

  • Replicating ERP Customer Hierarchies to CRM

    Hi,
I makes the steps for the transfer of customer hierarchies in the CRM. During the initial load of the object DNL_BUPA_KNVH, I get an ok status in Monitor Objects. However, the table CRM_KNVH_TEMP is empty. Unable to pass the next step BPH_DNL.
Is there a solution to this problem?
    Regards,
    Yves

    Hi,
Check the filters in R3AC1 for DNL_BUPA_KNVH. and before going into BPH_DNL you need to do the following. Maintain the below config and go again to BPH_DNL it will work !!!
Go to SPRO path CRM->Master Data->Business Partner->account hierarchy->Data Exchange of ERP Customer Hierarchy Type to CRM Hiearchy Category->Assign ERP Customer Hierarchy Type to CRM Hierarchy Category and assign R/3 Hierarchy type to CRM Group hierarchy.

  • Sd: Customer Hierarchies

    Hi experts,
how i can process a customer hierarchies in a standard sales flow??
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
Customer hierarchies start with partner determination in configuration.
You have to define the partner functions with their corresponding hiearachy when you are defining the partners.
For ex, define a PF say ZA and a hierarchy Z1. Link Z1 to ZA. Also link ZA to the account group Z001
Now define another PF say ZB and hierarchy Z2. Link Z2 to ZB. Link ZB to acct group Z002
Now when defining partner function, you have to define that Z2 is the child hierarchy of Z1.
Once this is done, the configuration part is done. Link these partner functions to the Partner determination procedures of say Customer master and Sales document header.
Now create some customer masters for accct groups Z001 adn Z002.
In VDH1N, you can mention that for the customer of Z001, the customer Z002 can be the child partner.
Now when you create the sales order, you can see the child partner automatically updated in the order. If there are multiple Z002 customers, linked to Z001 customer, then it will give you a popup where you can select which child partner is relevant for the transaction.
Hope this helps you. If you have any clarifcations pls lemme know.
Pls reward if this helps you

  • Free goods secquence with customer hierarchie and product hierarchie

    Hi  guru's,
I'm currently working with a secquency for free goods with customer hierarchie ans product hierarchie, but is giving me a lot of problems of dums ,  I think that SAP standard doesn't allow it because the customicing is diferent than the secquence for pricing that has 2 more fields open: V_T682Z-FSTST and V_T682Z-MBWRT that could allow me to set the levels of the hierarchie. Despite it works with the same table T682Z.
Has anybody had the same problem as me? Can you help me please.
    Marta Gallego

Maintain your entries in " Determine Item Category For Free Goods Item"
For the combination of Order Type-ItemCatgrp(ERLA)-Usage(Free)-Item Category(Tan)
Lets see if it works for you.

  • Customer hierarchie HIENR01 not filled in price analyse

    Hello,
I created a new price condition for the customer hierarchie and I also tried it with the sap standard condition type HI01.
Both are not working, because the field customer (hiearchie 1-7) is not filled. I can only see an exclamation mark in the price analyse for the condition.
Does anybody know what I forgot???
    Thanks
    Nicole

    Solved this task myself.
The characteristics I had to use in table sales_cfgs_value for FM SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE were:
    EXPRESS_ORDER - Y/N
    PDF_PROOF - Y/N
    POS1_ID_W - TOP/BOTTOM
    POS1_NR_OF_COLOURS_KB - 1
    POS1_PRINT_CODE - P1
    POS1_USE_W - Y
    REPEAT_ORDER - Y
    ITEM_COLOR_NUMBER - 17
    COLOR_XX_QTY - 100
Now the FM is returning the startup price, the variable costs and the manipulation costs.

  • Extracting Custom Hierarchies, with additional filters to restrict data.

I am currently working on extracting custom hierarchies from SAP R/3.
I read a article related to it at
[http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50cbb737-b36f-2c10-c78b-b63d116ce313?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true]  authored by Nilesh Ramesh Ahir.
My requirement is slightly different though. Since the extraction takes long time, I need to add few fields to selection screen in data source to restrict the data.
P.S: I tried enhancing the extract structure ROHIEROS, but it cannot be enhanced.
So please guide me on this.

    Hello Prakash,
Please check the function module RSSH_HIERARCHY_TRANSFER and see if it helps.

  • Customer hierarchies in TCA

In this project, we are moving from many divisional legacy systems to Oracle R12.  We are modelling a scenario where a customer has a head office but divisions in several countries.  An example could be Wal*Mart.  Wal*Mart has a head office in Bentonville but we sell to Wal*Mart Canada, Wal*Mart USA and others.  Sometimes when reporting sales, we would like to separate the information by country but still be able to consolidate sales at the parent-level.
One option is to have the head office as a parent party with Wal*Mart Canada, Wal*Mart USA being child parties under it.  Please note most if not all demand will be for the divisions and not the head office.  Standard EBS reports e.g. the Orders Detail Report only provides sales by one customer or a selection of customers.  Ideally, we should be able to show consolidated sales if we report at the head office party level.  However, this means writing a brand new OBIEE report respecting the parent-child hierarchical relationships between the head office and its divisions.
The other option is to have just one party for Wal*Mart with an account for each division.  If we'd like to report by country, there are standard reports that could be run by Ship-To country.  If consolidated sales is needed, we request information for the Wal*Mart party without specifically filtering by a particular destination.
We would like your thoughts as to which option is better in the long-term.  It is important as our approach now will determine the future roadmap.
    Thanks,
    Sanjib

    Hi Vikram,
Before you create a CRM account hierarchy from an ERP customer hierarchy, you first have to:
1.Perform an initial load of the necessary Customizing settings from SAP ECC to SAP CRM.
Use the initial load in CRM (transaction R3AS) in CRM Middleware and the Customizing object DNL_CUST_THIT.
    2. Map the ERP customer hierarchy categories to the CRM account hierarchies.
For more information about mapping, see in the Implementation Guide (IMG) Customer Relationship Management - Master Data- Business Partner - Account Hierarchy - Data Exchange of ERP Customer Hierarchies with SAP CRM - Assign ERP Customer Hierarchy Type to CRM Hierarchy Category.
    3. Download the ERP table KNVH (customer hierarchies) to SAP CRM.
Use the initial load in SAP CRM (transaction R3AS) with the business object DNL_BUPA_KNVH. A copy of the ERP table KNVH is replicated to SAP CRM to create the account hierarchy from it.

  • Migration of customer Hierarchies

    Hello
I am trying to create customer hierarchies within version 46c but cannot get the BAPI
'BAPI_CUSTOMER_HIERARCHIE_INS' to insert the customer to the hierarchie nodes.
It will work fine manually using VDH1N - I tried to use the record function in LSMW using VDH1N and VDH1 (this one created the link if there was only 1 relationship).
I have approximately 2000 customers to link to the hierarchy nodes.
anyone got any ideas.  or is there another way to do it?
    cheers
    Nick

I am running the BAPI through the se37 in test mode and with the additional fileds you mention ... why i think that it is the type is that i get no errors in the return structure and the hierachy is not updated / inserted. I have debugged the BAPI and in 2 places but have not found any clues.
Although I have 5 years data migration and abap experience .. this is the first time i have tried to create hierarchies!  I will get the config guys to check the type again.
thanks for you help so far.

  • Help - Installation Groups with Hierarchies

    Hi experts ,
I created Installation Grouping with Hierarchies Set-up (Please find the attached Doc)
Using UTILIT85 Variant to derive Primary Installation billing relevant consumption , & Billing of primary is happening perfectly fine but When I am performing Billing of 2nd level Secondary installation (Which also have 3rd level Secondary installations)  3rd level installations consumption is not deducting from this 2nd level Secondary installation .
If I check DBERCHV table for Primary Bill Doc then there is -ve consumption line present for this installation , But during billing system is not deducting this consumption from Secondary meters consumption .
Please tell where I am doing wrong or what step I am skipping .
Please find the attachment with more clarity (What exactly I am doing)

  • Loading Customized Hierarchies in BPC 10.0

    Good day!
Has anyone tried combining the InfoObject Hierarchy of 0COSTCENTER (Cost Center) and 0PROFIT_CTR (Profit Center) into one hierarchy in BW?
I am asking this in order to execute a single load for Master Data Hierarchies of a dimension COST_PROFIT_CTR in BPC 10.0.
If yes, how were you able to load the hierarchy successfully?
    Hoping for your reply.
    Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for your reply, Bishwajit.
I created two transformations connected to a customized InfoObject. When I opened the Hierarchy of the said InfoObject, I saw two separate hierarchies - one for Cost Center and one for Profit Center.
What is the best approach to create a "merged" custom hierarchy in BW if this is the scenario?
There are Profit Centers which have the same ID as Cost Centers. However, in their respective hierarchies in R/3, there are instances wherein the parent of the base member of a Profit Center is different from the parent of the base member of the same Cost Center.
    Thank you.

  • Creating custom hierarchical data provider

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a custom dataprovider for a 3rd party
chart control. As far as I can tell, it works just like any
Flex-provided hierarchical dataprovider control. My problem doesn't
have to do with the control directly, as I haven't yet even tried
to interface my dataprovider with their control (that's why I'm
posting here). I'm having a lot of troubling figuring out how to
    implement IHierarchicalData and IHierarchicalCollectionView (or
figuring out what to extend and override to give me the
functionality). The documentation doesn't seem to be detailed
    enough to help me .
I can't use a normal XML dataprovider because the XML I have
contains child elements that are data, so I can't just use the
hierarchy of the XML itself. I need to process the XML in some way
using code that actually understands its structure. I intend to
process this into a class that implements IHierarchicalData. The
documentation is really vague on what the results of a call to
getChildren() returns (and how the calling code then breaks the
children apart so it can call getData() on each), but I was able to
figure that out by looking at the source for the chart control I'm
using (it appears to expect an ArrayCollection... why isn't the
IHierarchicalData interface typed as such?). My biggest problem is
understanding the IHierarchicalCollectionView. It has methods to
add and remove child nodes, but I don't see how it's possible for
it to do that. It only has a reference to an IHierarchicalData,
which provides no methods to perform those operations. When I wrap
my IHierarchicalData in the default HierarchicalCollectionView
object (which is just what the chart does, as far as I can tell)
and use methods like addChild(), I get a null reference error, as
mentioned in this stack trace snippet:
Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null
    object reference.
    at mx.collections::HierarchicalCollectionView/addChild()
I believe I need the HierarchicalCollectionView (or to extend
a class that implements the IHierarchicalCollectionView interface
or implement it myself) because I need to use its functions to
modify my tree structure so that when I change the data, the chart
will update. Is this a correct assumption? If so, how do I use
those functions on the HierarhicalCollectionView? What is it doing
internally? I don't understand how it can be manipulating the tree
in a type-safe manner having only an IHierarchicalData reference to
work with, and if it's doing it in a non-typesafe manner, I need to
know what methods it's calling on my tree or node objects, which
don't appear to be documented in the docs for
    IHierarchicalCollectionView.
If I'm totally off-base in the best way to accomplish my
goal, please let me know. I'd also appreciate any information you
could give me, such as info on the hierarchy interfaces that goes
beyond the docs. Some source code for HierarchicalCollectionView
would be super helpful (only for reverse engineering; it should
really be documented somewhere), but I haven't been able to find
    any. Isn't it open source?
Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

SAP Note 746227 has addressed this issue. I will close this question.

  • Conceptual question on Products and Customer Hierarchies

I am wondering why it was first necessary to create Business Partner Hierarchies and Product Category Hierarchies in a different framework than Org Management.
I understand Org Management, but I donu2019t see the need to recreate, for example, your customeru2019s hierarchy in BP hierarchy builder if you can do all in Org Management.
The only current advantage I see is the fact that you can link conditions to Product Groups, and to different nodes in the BP hierarchy.
But why was this not originally done as an enhancement to Org Management?

By same I meant exactly the same. And that snippet-
providing Child extends Parent - won't compileI know the snippet won't compile.
Ah, I see. Child is less general than parent,
therefore the one on the left is NOT more general,
    therefore it's incorrect. Makes sense.
Inheritance is so screwy. Polymorphism is much easier
to understand when a class implements an interface
than when it extends another class, in my opinion.
I wish there was a way to state the declaration in a
sentence type structure, as I find those easy to
    understand.
    Maybe in the case of
    Parent p = new Child();one could say
something like, "a new specialization of Parent is
Child, p."How about "A parent, specifically a child, called p". (throws ClumsyClassnameException)
    How about the old examples?
    class Animal {}
    class Dog extends Animal {}
Animal rover = new Dog();"I need an animal, called Rover. Specifically, I need a Dog"
