Customer returns quality inspection query
Dear gurus,
Could anybody help me our with customer returns quality inspection.
I have maintained following settings:
1) Material Master: QM View: Inspection type: 06
2) Maintained all the master data e.g MIC, Sampling Procedure, Inspection plan for FG material
From the above settings whenever there is return order takes place and PGR the material don't go to Quality Inspection storage location. It is moving to returns goods storage location. But inspection lot is generating and above all after result recording and UD it does not showing in final stock.
Can anyone help me out with above issue.

I have check the config setting of movement type 651 for Returns there Inspection origin is 06

hi,
Actually i got stuck in customer return senario , when i make a return order with refence to desire sales order and do the PGR it throw me an error "Status of inspection lot 060000000115 / partial lot 000000 does not allow good issue"
Note :- (Ii checked the threatof forum "SD-QM: Sales Return Inspection lot status Error and change config with inspection type 05 instead of 06 , make new sales order and return then it work , then when we use inspection type 06 )

Both 05 & 06 lot origin we can use for customer return depending on our business process requirement.
Return process describes how the system creates an inspection lot automatically when goods are returned from a customer. When a customer return is received, the goods can be posted to one of several destinations:
Blocked stock returns (not valuated and not part of unrestricted-use stock; inspection lot origin 06)
If you make a posting to blocked stock returns, the system creates an inspection lot that is not stock relevant.
Warehouse (for example, to inspection stock, blocked stock or unrestricted-use stock; inspection lot origin 05).

Customer return inspection lot
Hi,
Actually I got an problem in customer return quality scenario , when i do an PGR there are two inspection lot is created one is with reference to material document number and another is with delivery and sales order number .
Please tell me why the two inspection lot is generating
( Note :- i am not able to activate inspection type 06 because our client want to inspection lot stock tab in usages decision, so i activated inspection type 05 , and inspection lot stock tab is came in lot refer to material document not in lot of delivery and sales order number )
Please explain briefly if it is fine, or correction required

I got the issue
1) Please let me know what is the movement type you are using
2) The reason why 2 lots are created is this
a) One inspeciton lot is created because of movement type - which is actualy giving you the inspection stock posting tab
b) Another one is getting created based on the assignement of inspecion type in delivery type in the config
Please remove the inspection type for the delivery type and then do the test
This will clear the issue

Here is my Question
For Delivery inspection i am using inspection type 10 meaning when ever there is goods issue during delivery inspection lot is created ,RR and UD post stock to Unrestricted if pass and unblocked stock if fail or rework or change to another customer and COA is printed if UD is pas
is my understanding is correct
For Customer return i maitanin inspection type 06 , Meaning when ever there is customer return , GR is done in IM and inspection lot is created,RR and UD and post the stock to unrestricted and Blocked stock if fails
is my understading is correct in the above scenario
Also where this Customer info record is used and related with inspection
From my understanding Customer info record is used to link sales organization and customer to the material in Quality inspection
so that by means of the Quality inspection indicator in Custm info record can control the inspection lot creation before delivery or after delivery and what is customer indicator
Please can some give me a clear picture of the above , sorry to ask so many questions in one thread

Let me make you clear
1) Customer info record stores data related to material / customer. You can decide whether the inspection has to be before delivery, after delivery or at the customer place.
2)Inspection lot 10 is created when you save the delivery to a particular customer. Inspection 10 doesnt have stock posting tab. If you have selected in Customer info record inspection before delivery then only after you give the ud for the lot it will allow for PGI. You cannot stock posting to any stock as in 01 or 04.
neither you can change the customer.
3) For customer return inspection 06 inspection type will not give stock posting tab. It is a stock irrelevant inspection type. You can 05 inspection for the same. it helps in stock posting

Issue of Quality Inspection for consignment return delivery
Hello,
I am doing a returns delivery(from a Sales Order) from a Customer Consignment.
I am getting a error when I do a Post Goods Receipt(PGI). QM is active for that material.
The error I am getting is
"Change the inspection stock of material XXX in QM only"
Procedure says
"Check both the QM inspection setup data and the movement type for material XXX in the quality management view of the material master"
The movement type used in the returns delivery is 655(GD returns for QI).
What is the solution for this error. Do I need to change/add new Inspection type based on the Movement type?
Please let me know ASAP.

It looks the material master is set-up inspection type with 06 - returns from customer. Also the movement type 655 moves the goods into QI stock. In this case, the Quality personnel needs to change the inspection stock type using transaction code QA32. They will change the usage decision on the customer returns.
Once the change the inspection type is changed, you can do the post goods receipt.

Quality inspected stock for the sales return material
Hi,
For the very first time I'm working on Reworking order type. There was a material from customer return. My client want to reprocess it. So for the testing purpose in quality, I activated inspection type 06 (Inspection for returns from customer) for the material and transferred it to QI. Then I created a manual inspection lot and made defects recording and usage decision as Rejected. Now my question is where will the stock go after usage decision?

655 is for returns direct to QI stck. lot may be either 05 or 06 type.
if u want than as i already suggest you assign 05 type against return order type in Configuration (SPRO).
Quality management-> Quality Inspection -> Quality Inspection -> Inspection lot Creation> Inspection at shipping-->Define inspection lot origin to delivery type.

Customer return Material posting in quality
Hello Friends,
I assigned inspection type 06 to FERT material in material master. When material returns from customer, system creates inspection lot. But for this inspection lot, quantity posting is not possible, Because there is no tab "Inspection lot stock" in usage decision.
How to get that tab so i can post the stock from quality to FG unrestricted stock.

Inspection lot 06 is non stock relevant, please read SAP online help:

You can process the materials as non-stock-relevant goods.
If a material is not stock relevant, the system does not valuate and track the quantity of goods. All inspection lots with the following inspection lot origins are not stock relevant:

suppose some customer X has returned some 100 goods from 1000 he purchased and then these goods has to be transferred to different storage location because there quality check happens and after 72 hours or so then the tested goods will be transferred to goods for un restricted use and
how to do this configuration in SAP r/3.

If its so,
Goto Material Master
Goto Quality Management Tab Page
Activate the "Post to insp. Stock"
Your requirement should be fulfilled.

Create multple inspection lots at customer returns
Hi all,
at my comany we've the following problem. Customer returns should be posted to insp stock and an inspection lot must be created. When a customer has multiple return from the same batch it should create multiple inspection lots. We use insp 05 for this. But we also use 05 for the receipt of externally produced materials. This should only create one inspection lot. Therefor it's not possible to set the indicator in the inspection setup in the maerial master.
We had a look at inspection type 06, but this is not stock relevant. What is the best way to set this up?

If the Z inspection type is assigned to the delivery type as proposed, the Z inspection type still has an 05 inspection origin. It is the origin that SAP links to material movements not the inspection type. As delivered most inspection types match one to one the origin, i.e. an 05 inspection type to an 05 origin. An 04 inspection type to an 04 origin, etc..
When a movement is used that is linked to the 05 inspection orgin and an inspection is called for, the system looks at the material master and attempts to assign an inspection type with an 05 orign. In this case, they'll be two inspection types active with an 05 oriign. The standard 05 and the Z05.
Now it might work if the Z05 is assigned to the delivery type for returns and the 05 inspection type is marked as preferred. Hopefully the Z05 will get used for the deliveries and the 05 for all others But I'm not 100% sure the system will behave exactly that way. I 've never tested that scenario specifically.

Inspection type for customer return of returnable package material
Hi Guys,
I send the returnable package to the customer , while reciving that material to my stock (when the customer return to me ) i want to create outbound delivery with out order refference .
I want system to create inspection lot after doing PGR of the outbound delivery .
The inspection lot sould have the option of result recording and stock posting when i do usage decission
This requirement not met by inspection type 06 , i want to create new inspection type to met above mentioned all requirement .
please provide the steps to be performed to met the same.

The 06 - Inspection type is not stock relevant and also it is not possible to change because it is SAP std.
1. If you want inspection for Customer with stock, active 05 - Inspection type in Material Master, and move the stock from customer return to QI by using MB1B with Movement type 457 Stock transfer returns to QI. After that system will create the Inspection lot in 05 Inspection type.
2. If don't want stock for inspection and directly post to Unrestricted using MB1B with movement type 453 Transfer posting to returns from customer to Unrest.
3. Customer return to Blocked stock using MB1B with mvt type 459 Stock transfer returns to blocked
Case2.
Inspection type 05 is a stock relevant inspection type.
To use 05 you must assign the 05 inspection type to the delivery item in configuration.
Follow this path.
Tcode vov6 - there will be schedule line category DN.
go to details of DN.In Business data, check which movement type is assigned here.
I think in your case it will be 651.
Change it to 655 and try now.

What could i do to post it directly in my own stock but int the quality insp. from customer consignment stock.
