Customer system voice mail operator Prompts in CUE V3

Hello,
Is there a way to modify the system voice mail operatator prompts wave files (which are played if the caller does not hang up after leaving a voice mail for a subscriber).
Thanks!

A great way to diagnose this issue without deleting voicemail boxes is to issue the following command.
show voicemail usage
If you get the following output you know you have exceeded the license. This way you don't have to delete vm boxes to figure out if you're hitting this issue.
***Voicemail disabled: There are more mailboxes in the system than allowed by t
he current license count***

I can record voice memos fine using the built-in iPhone 4 mic.  And my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone Era) works fine when I leave messages on voice mail systems etc. when calling on the iPhone 4, so it appears my headset mic is fine.  I can also use voice activated dialing, although it fails miserably interpreting numbers.  However, I cannot record voice memos with my Bluetooth mic.   I just get barely audible static.  Any suggestions?   Thanks.

Hello, did you ever get an answer to your question? I just picked up a Jawbone Era and using on an iPhone 4s running 5.0.1. Seems to work fine on regular calls, but not on the built in Voice memos application. It worked fine on my older Jawbone Icon, but haven't tested on the 4s or iOS 5.
    Thanks!

  • Why can't a customer change the length of time before voice-mail picks up??

I spent nearly half an hour on the phone yesterday with tech support attempting to lengthen the amount of time that elapses before voice mail answers from 30 to 40 seconds.  This use to be the easiest of settings to modify, even from first generation mobile phones.  Heck, you didn't even have to call tech support for such a simple change - just accomplish it from phone settings.  I was informed by Verizon tech support that now all Verizon phones have a standard 30 second time to pick up and IT CAN NOT BE CHANGED!!!  Ridiculous!  I use my phone for business and each time a miss a call it represents a potential lost customer.  Give me the extra freakin 10 seconds to answer please - come on Verizon!!!

Controlled by your carrier, so contact them.

  • My visual voice mail is not working..i have done all the steps that I have seen on here to do. When I call the voice mail it says that there is not a box set up and I need to contact my system administrator.

I have had voice mail set up on my phone for 10 years. When I did the last iOS update before 7 I guess it wiped out my voice mail. Can I not set it up myself? I haven't changed my message in years.

  • Voice mail always engaged

    Hi All,
We have a UC520 and the system is giving us an engaged tone when ever we dial voice mail from both our external and internal numbers. I have been going over and over the config and can not understand why we are getting an engaged signal when ever we ring voice mail. Below is the show run off the UC520, hopefully someone can spot some errors in it to suggest why it does not work as im close to hitting it with a large hammer

I don't know if you have a specific subnets permitted in the CUPS ACL
This is dangerous and incorrect guidence. The Incoming ACL allows the addresses defined to bypass authentication. In other words, I could impersonate your CEO if I wanted to. There are only two common use cases where doing this is appropriate: 1) the CUxAC server IP; or 2) older versions of CCX where CAD didn't support DIGEST authentication.
As for the original question: your English is difficult to understand. Is the following problem statement accurate?
When 5412 on CM2 leaves a voicemail for 5411 on CM2, the MWI is lit for 5411 but Jabber does not reflect the waiting message?
If this is accurate, is the message also shown in the Web Inbox? https:///inbox
The serverIP should be the CUC server defined in the voicemail profile on CUPS for the user who owns 5411.

  • Unity Express voice mail timing issue.

    Hi,
I have installed one uc520 at one of our customer. i configured voice mail but there is one issue with the voice mail timing. Suppose i retrive the voice mail the voice mail prompt is giving the wrong time. Suppose I send a voice mail to a subscriber at 3pm, the voice mail prompt is saying 'message send at 4 pm'.
I checked both cme and cue clock settings and both are showing the correct time.
Can anybody help me on this issue
    Regards
    Thejas

Are the calls to CUE getting dropped when you dial from an IP Phone at site 1 (callmanager) ?
How is the CME router setup in Callmanager ? Is it added as a regular H323 gateway or a H225 trunk ? Either ways, make sure the gateway registers with the correct IP that is used in Callmanager.
So if CME has a wan ip (a.a.a.a) and a lan ip (b.b.b.b), if you add b.b.b.b as the CME gateway's ip address in Callmanager, then you need to bind the H323 ip address as follows.
    interface fa0/0
    ip add b.b.b.b
    h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr b.b.b.b
Most likely the CME gateway is sending calls to Callmanager using ip address a.a.a.a which is the wan ip, through which it has the default route to Callmanager.
    Hope that makes sense!

  • Fast busy, esp when accessing Voice Mail on FiOS Digital Voice

When we have new messages and call into voice mail and enter passcode, the voicemail guy starts talking and all of the sudden we get the dreaded fast busy.  So then we have to hang up and try again, then get the old "I'm sorry, that account is in use".  So then we have to wait about ten minutes and try again, and this is getting very frustrating.  I called in a trouble ticket for it and nobody seems to have a clue.  In fact, while I was on the phone with tech support I got the fast busy about ten minutes into the call and didn't receive a call back, so I had to call it in all over again!  We just got FiOS back in May.  Before that we had T-Mobile @Home for our home phone, and it was rock solid and trouble-free!  So I expected a fiber optic Verizon home phone to be at least as reliable as a Linksys router with a T-Mobile SIM card in it - but boy was I wrong!  And now that TMO has stopped selling @Home I can't switch back.  Also, the Verizon voicemail is very frustrating to begin with.  The TMO voicemail system lets you listen to your message, then press 7 to delete it after you've heard it.  The VZ voicemail forces you to press 3 to delete the message while it's still playing. Otherwise, after all your messages are done playing, you have to go back and play them over again, deleting them while they are still playing.  I just cannot figure out whey they would design a voicemail system so cumbersome and frustrating.  Not to mention, TMO gave you the option of bypassing the password security when accessing from your home phone.  VZ makes you put the password in every time.  Help!  I'm sure there is someone on these boards that is way smarter than anyone I can get on the phone.  Thanks!

We have been getting the exact same thing for almost a year now... since switching to FiOS Digital Voice in May of last year!  Every time I call in to report it they 'escalate' the issue but it never gets resolved.  The problem seems to be in the initial connection.  Most of the time it works fine but, several times a month, after I call to get messages and it starts to play the new message it goes dead and I get the busy signal.  I get the same message when I call back:  “I’m sorry – that account is in use at this time.  Please try again later!”  I have even called in with my cell phone and get the same message!  I HAVE EVEN used the Internet to see if I could get my messages and, when I hit Play, I get a pop-up saying: “Your Voice Mail box is currently in being accessed; please try again later.  If the problem continues, please contact our Customer Support Center at 1-888-553-1555. We apologize for any inconvenience.”  This is obviously a software bug that Verizon has no clue on how to troubleshoot OR fix!!!  I wonder how many people have the problem and just don’t bother reporting it because of the hassle?  When it first started happening they destroyed my entire mailbox and I had to re-enter the complete mailbox setup again – 3 times!!!  NEVER let them talk you into that!!!  It’s their problem and they need to fix it!!!!!!!  I wish I could go back to the ‘normal’ voicemail we originally had… they want hundred$ to switch back because I’d be breaking my #$@%^&* contract!  Good luck if you have Verizon………

  • Voice mail as last stop for hunt group

    Hello:
We have no ACD ability, so I have a hunt group set up with 3 extensions (one each as second line on each of 3 phones). If no one is available on any of the hunt extensions, I want it to go to a shared voice mail box.
Can anyone help me know if this is do-able and how (nothing I've tried has worked!). Using CM 6.1/Unity 5.0
    Thank you,
    Linda

    Hi Linda,
This is most possible :) I'm going to add a touch to the great info from Tere (+5 points for this Tere)
In this example we are going to do what you are trying to do as well as Light the MWI Lamp on the phones within the Line Group when a Message is left for the group.
Lets say the Hunt Pilot number is 5000 and one of the second line DN's on the Line Group member phones is 2355. Set the Hunt Pilot to Forward (CFNA) to the Unity Pilot #.
If you don't use a Routing Rule as nicely suggested by Tere you can Create a mailbox for 2355 with 5000 as an Alternate Extension. When the call routes through to Unity via the Hunt Pilot No Answer Unity should see the CLID of 5000 which will then be connected to the Mailbox on 2355. This will take care of one of the Line Group Member phones but we want to light the Lamp on the second and third phone as well :)
    Try setting the the DN's of the other two Line Group members as Alternate MWI's (in Unity) as well;
Setting Up Alternate MWIs for Extensions on the Same Phone System
Cisco Unity can activate alternate MWIs for extensions on the same phone system. Note that depending on the phones and phone systems, some additional phone system programming may be necessary. Refer to the installation guide for the phone system.
To enable alternate MWIs for extensions on the same phone system, do the following procedure for each subscriber who needs alternate MWIs.
To Set Up Alternate MWIs for Extensions on the Same Phone System
Step 1 In the Cisco Unity Administrator, go to the applicable Subscribers > Subscribers > Messages page.
Step 2 Confirm that the Use MWI for Message Notification check box is checked.
Step 3 Click the Add button located beneath the MWI Extensions table to add a row to the table. By default, the first row in the table contains an "X" to indicate the primary extension assigned to a subscriber. If you want one more extension and do not need to activate the MWI on the primary extension, you can also modify the first row.
Step 4 Enter the applicable extension in the Extension field of the table. MWIs are automatically enabled for all rows in the table. When entering characters in the MWI Extensions table, consider the following:
•Enter digits 0 through 9. Do not use spaces, dashes, or parentheses.
    •Enter , (comma) to insert a one-second pause.
•Enter # and * to correspond to the # and * keys on the phone.
Step 5 Click the Save icon.
Step 6 Repeat Step 3 through Step 5 as necessary.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/401/integration/guide/c50acu4x.html#wp1808513
    Then tweak the Message Lamp Setting in CCM for the second Line appearances;
For the second Line Setting on (each phone)-
Line Settings for this Device - Changes affect only this device
Message Waiting Lamp Policy - Light and Prompt
The RED Message Lamp will then work for these Second lines on each phone.
    Hope this helps!

  • Voice mail from PSTN

    Hello,
I have unity connection 8.6 .2 and our corporate users need to access their voice mail when they are not in the office (from PSTN) so how i can achieve that.
I know only 2 steps please correct me if the below 2 steps are wrong and complete the rest of the steps
I will create a hunt pilot DN (DID) with unity connection answering ports.
call will reach to unity connection by direct routing rule configured for dialed in number (DID )
    thanks

    Dear's
you"ll are experts i may not understanding what actually you'll are trying to explain. Please bare with me to get success.
I will write in bullets my understanding please correct and also
when a pstn user dial a number 23232980
VG (MGCP) receives the calls and the call is send to CUCM to DN 980
In my case 980 is Hunt pilot the call will hit to Unity connection
By creating forwarding rule " sends call to"  conversation sign in  with equal operator & dialled in 980 routing rule conditions.
user will be prompted for the username and password.
Please write in Bullets for the below comment.
And, as Terry mentioned, you need to add appropriate translations to convert your DID to the Hunt Pilot number.
    I didn't understood below paragraph.
An alternate option is to add 'Alternate extensions' for the user. In this case, apart from adding the alternate extensions, you do not have to do any other changes on Unity Connection. Callers can still dial the existing hunt pilot to reach unity connection. no need to create a new hunt pilot. just ensure you have appropriate translation patterns to convert your DID to the existing hunt pilot number.
    Thanks

  • Jabber voice mail for some users.

    Dears,
J4W voicemail works perfect with default config.xml file for some of the users and for some of the users it shows the attached when clicked on voicemail tab. I have create 2 no's of sevice profile, the voice mail credential set  for both service profile is Unified CM IM and presence.
I can understand the prompt as it is asking for voicemail password for that reason i have to create a custom config.xml file and i have to upload in TFTP server, But my concern is why it is working for some of the users without config.xml file and for some users it is prompting for username and password.
    Thanks

    Dears,
the profile are different, but if i put the the other users working profile also it is not working.
The voice mail server is showing not connected in jabber,
    Any hints.
    Thanks

  • Changing To New AT&T Data Plan, Breaks Voice Mail

Sorry, but I'm posting this in several iPhone Hardware Discussions, since I think it applies to all versions of iPhones.
I'm also sorry if this has been posted before, but I'm not looking for help or answers, I'm providing them.
I have been on the $30 per month unlimited data plan with AT&T. Today I decided to change to one of the lower cost, lower monthly data rate plans. I called up AT&T and they made the change.
What I didn't realize is that making this change broke my voice mail. Well, more specifically, it broke the voice mail on all 5 phones in our Family Plan.
By breaking voice mail I mean that people can no longer leave you voice mail messages. If they call you, they will get the standard message that this person does not have a voice mail box and you cannot leave them a message.
Unfortunately, you don't realize it's broke. Since no one can leave you a voice mail, you don't get any voice mail notifications. AT&T doesn't send you a message stating that they just broke your voice mail. Your voice mail is broke and you don't know it.
It was my wife who figured it out. She had several missed call notifications, but no voice mail notifications, which seemed odd. When she clicked on the voice mail icon, she was prompted to Set Up Your Voice Mail. There was no list of her existing voice mail messages. Just a button to click to start the set up process. Which she did. She was asked to enter her PIN and record an outgoing message, even though she had done this the first time she set up her voice mail. She entered both her PIN and outgoing prompt. But when she clicked Save she got an error message stating that she could not set up voice mail. Her voice mail needed to be set up, but it wouldn't let her. There was no suggestion in the prompt telling her what to do or why it was suddenly broken.
So, I called AT&T. The person I spoke said I needed to power down the phone, which I did. After powering the phone back up, voice mail was still broke. I was then transferred to AT&T tech support. That person told me power down the phone. Which I did, but with some skepticism. After powering the phone back up I was told to go back into voice mail, which was still asking me to set up my voice mail. I followed the prompts and entered my PIN and recorded my greeting. This time it worked. Not only did I get voice working again, but I could see all the old voice mails I had. Unfortunately, I cannot get any voice mail messages during the several hours it was broken because none could be recorded.
Technical support person did fix the problem. However, I had to contact all family members and we had to go through this same procedure (power off, wait, power on, re-enter a new PIN and greeting) for each and every phone. This took somewhere close to an hour of my time.
The AT&T technical support person explained to me that since I changed my data plan (from unlimited to 200 MB) new "configuration" data needed to be sent to the phone. To get this data to your phone, you have to turn the phone off so they can send the data. Then you have to renter all your voice mail data.
    Incredible.
So, as I said, I'm not looking for help or answers. But I thought posting what I went through might be helpful to anyone else who might change their data plan.
Changing data plans = Broken voice mail .... Which requires a long phone call to technical support and reentering your voice mail data.
    Sheesh.

I've been a cell phone user since the early days of analog cellular. Back in the days of brick phones, of which I was a user.
I've been a customer of of Cellular One, Ameritech, Verizon, T Mobile, Cingular and AT&T.
I've never experienced loosing my voice mail as I did today.
I considered my voice mail broken since I could not access my visual voice mail on my phone, I could not reset my voice mail on my phone (following the prompts on my phone) and no one could leave me a voice mail message if they called me. I called AT&T customer support and they could not get my voice mail working. I'm not sure what more could be broken, but I would classify my voice mail as broken.
You may find it acceptable to have your voice mail broken (or perhaps cut off) if you change your data plan, but I don't think that's acceptable.
I don't see how I made a major change to my account. I didn't make any changes to the types of data I can send or receive. The only change I made was to opt for a lower cost plan that delivers all the same data. That change resulted in all 5 members of my family plan to loose their voice mail.
You may be correct that all this needed was for it to be reset. But, I can't reset it. The customer service person could not reset it. It took the tech support person to be able to reset it. All of which was about an hour on the phone.
I don't think this experience should be typical. Maybe it isn't. Maybe for some strange reason, in my circumstance something more went wrong. But, that's not what AT&T told me. They told me what I experienced is typical.
So, I thought I would post this for people that might experience this issue, or think about changing their data plan so that they would know what to do.
But, perhaps I was wrong in using this Discussion site to post what I thought might be helpful.
I'm sorry. I will (as I told a previous poster) delete this post. As soon I as I figure out how.

  • I want to turn off my voice mail

could someone give me a hint how to do this?

You can call Customer service and see if you can remove voice mail from your account.
You can also use conditional call forwarding to forward the call to another number, say your home phone, that does not have a voice mail system set up.

  • IPhone 5- unable to change time to pick up of voice mail

I strongly urge Verizon and Apple to come up with a method that enables people with the Verizon iPhone5 to change the default time for voicemail to pick up. Thirty seconds is way too long for someone like me who uses my phone for business.
I have spent a great deal of time on the phone with helpful Verizon customer service reps, who were unable to find a fix.
I have read that many other people are frustrated with this issue.
Please resolve this issue for this otherwise great product!
    Thank you!
