Customer Training videos

I'm ready to begin the training for two of my recent customers.
I notice that the customer training videos are old and fuzzy and have the old old BC admin interface.
Are there other resources you can point me to?  These current videos would be confusing and out of date.

Hi,
I would recommend the videos referenced within the admin "in-help" section.
Our directly to the source via BC Gurus training videos below.

Hope this helps!

  • Partner Plan training videos

    Hi!
We are seriously considering being a premium BC partner. A few questions though:
    1. Will BC allow us to use the training videos to make it available for our clients?
    2. If so, are those videos rebrandable?
    3. I've seen the site bcgurus.com, and it is very helpful indeed. Upon further browsing, I found out that there is a membership payment involved. My question is, is the premium membership for bcgurus.com included with the premium partner membership?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

    Hi there.
    1. There are some documetation and videos for BC/about BC you can use. These are general stuff though, since you can tailor build a site for people these are not nessairly that useful if your building custom sites for clients.
    2. There is white label stuff, much of it is out dated and new documents have been rolling out.
    3. BC gurus is 3rd party. It is not run by BC so anything you pay for there is not assoicated with Adobe BC itself, it is not run by Adobe.

  • Help Desk Knowledge Base & Training Video Screen Recording

Spiceworks has a knowledge base feature: http://community.spiceworks.com/help/Knowledge_Base_Overview
Although, I do not think it has the ability to host videos currently. You could host your videos on YouTube and link to them.
I have not started using the Spiceworks KB yet, as mine is in MediaWiki, which you may want to take a look at as well.

My company asked me to start thinking about the feasibility of implementing a knowledge base system for our internal technical support staff, and also one for our customers. With the customer's kb, they also want to have me create training videos on all of the different software packages we support.I have looked at using wordpress for a knowledge base, but it I would like something more designed at being a knowledge base rather than having to add in functionality. I have also looked at moodle which seems good for the courses with training videos, but seems also to not have a great knowledge base function. I could be missing something blatant as I only briefly played around in these systems.So....
Does anyone have any suggestions on a knowledge base system?
Also, any suggestions on screen recording software? Specifically those with tools...

  • Continuous stock training video for customers

I thought there used to be a training video in the customer space for continuous stock. When I click on my old link, it takes me to 'Maintain Price Lists'. Does anybody know if there is a training video that covers the topic and can give me a link?

  • Is it possible to record the output of a Windows Laptop in iMove to create training videos?

I have been asked by my company to look at creating some training videos of the software we make. The software itself runs on a windows platform. So I am looking for a way to capture the video from my work windows 7 laptop and import this into iMovie.
    Thanks
    Paul

I think you would be better off using a program like Camtasia on the Windows PC and doing a "screen capture" right there in the PC itself. Camtasia has some editing capabilities as well. It might save some time trying to transfer the video to the Mac as well. Just some ideas.

  • Why is a redirect not happening in a custom train model

    Dear All,
I followed a post by Jobinesh here regarding supplying your custom train model in this post http://jobinesh.blogspot.com/2010/04/custom-model.html
Now, I am extending the ProcessMenuModel and to create my navigation.
I created a wildcard control flow to each of my page but I had set a redirect option also in each of my taskflow
    view.
    <control-flow-rule id="__22">

  • How can I create a custom sized video in PP cs6?

How can I create a custom sized video in PP cs6? I have read references to the "desktop" setting but cannot find it. I am trying to find the right settings for a 1080 px x 486 px video (which I need to qualify for hi res on Vimeo).  I need to output a 450 x 1000 px video for
my website. Ideally, I'd like the sequence settings as well as the output settings. I am using still shots- no actual video.

What are the exact properties of the still images, particularly the pixel dimensions and pixel aspect ratio (PAR).* The letterboxing (black bars top & bottom) is most likely a result of a mismatch in these settings. If this is the case, then the easiest fix is to make sure not only the dimensions but the PAR match.
Say for instance your source images are 1000x1000 with a PAR of 1.0 (square pixels) and your sequence is set also set to 1000x1000 but with the PAR set to D1/DV NTSC (0.9091), the result would be letterboxing as seen here:
*if you're not sure about the PAR of your source images, right click on one of them in the Project panel and select Properties.

  • Question about F10 mapping in Tom W. training video

I started going through Tom's FCE4 HD training video yesterday and there's a part about mapping the F10 key so that it will insert a clip into the timeline. It appears the video was an earlier version of OS X because my system doesn't do the expose action on F10, mine toggles the sound on/off. Also the icon in the video where he makes a change to the key doesn't exist anymore. What I have in system preferences is something called expose/spaces so I looked there since the one he was using also had expose. But changing the F10 to be Option F10 there didn't seem to have any effect.
I've only had the Mac a week so I'm not familiar with how all these key mappings work and are assigned but I will be quick learner.
Thanks for any help if someone can tell me where I need to make this setting change.
    Gil

You have one of the new aluminum keyboards which are similar to laptop keyboards. The DVD was made before those keyboards were widely used. There was a mention I thought about using laptop keyboards. Go to the Keyboard section in System Preferences and in the keyboard panel there is a check box you have to click on. That will activate the F keys for application use. To raise and lower the audio or do other keyboard functions assigned to them by the OS, you have to hold down the function key, which is marked FN.

  • Training videos

Does anyone have the recording repository of training videos similar to the "16Scripting.wmv" given in this link?

I don't see anyway to filter the results.  Try opening the page without any parameters:

If that doesn't help, try another browser where there might not be a cookie present.

  • How to review training videos?

    Hello,
I'm reviewing a coworker's training videos and am new to this.  What criteria should I use in reviewing a demonstration-based training video?
I think in order to provide  effective feedback, I need a list of elements that make good training videos.    Would anyone know a website or book that explains what makes a good training  video GREAT?
Also, is there a section on this site that can provide feedback on training  videos?
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
It might help if we knew what the subject of your co-workers training videos is. I'm guessing from what you've said that you're talking about a video training course where the presenter narrates a screencast (a recording of their screen), to explain the software. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.
I've been looking at video training courses for Photoshop Elements and Photoshop for three or four years now - I even produced one a few years back - so I know what it's like from both the student and the teacher's point of view. In four years, this is the best Photoshop Elements video training course I've seen by far.
You asked what criteria you should use in reviewing - here are some of the guidelines I lay down on that page:
    1) A great training course has to use screencast video - You could follow a text guide, but why not just go and buy a manual or an 'X for dummies' guide if you're going to do that - video is the best way to illustrate and communicate training advice for products as complicated as Adobe Photoshop.
    2) A great training course should cover all angles - This is a balance. The training course must be complete without being comprehensive. It should be complete, so that no major section of the product is missed out - there's nothing more frustrating than finding out at the end that the trainer isn't going to address what you're interested in. But the training almost certainly shouldn't be comprehensive. Taking Photoshop Elements as an example, if the trainer explicitly mentions every single mode that every single tool can be used in, every keyboard shortcut, every menu item, every dialog ... you get the point ... the training will end up causing A) information overload, and B) boredom! The training should provide good coverage of the program (good breadth), with an appropriate level of detail (fair depth).
    3) In the same vein, some of the Photoshop Elements training I've watched has been agonizingly boring! The training should be broken down into sections of a sensible size, and each one should leave you begging for more. The training should be fun! And the trainer should communicate in a way that makes the training easily understandable - people will benefit from and enjoy the training a lot more if the instructions and descriptions are clear and easy to follow.
    4) As in any presentation, think about the target audience. Is it meant to be an 'absolute beginners Photoshop Elements training course', or should the title be 'Advanced Photoshop Elements training for guru-grand-masters'? Is it just for those using Windows, or just for those using Mac? Try to review the training with a target audience in mind, so you can assess whether it meets their needs. Like me, you might even want to buy or sample other video training courses to see how they compare.
    5) Finally, good training doesn't always have to be free, but it shouldn't cost the earth either. The Photoshop Elements training I review here costs $49.95. That's a reasonable price for what is a really excellent training resource. But asking someone to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars for training is rarely appropriate, perhaps with the exception of a face-to-face training course. Make great content, and then over-deliver on all your promises to the consumer, at a price that they simply can't get over - then let them rave about it to all their friends. =)
One more good tip: I mentioned training books above - visit your local bookshop or library and grab a training book on the product (so for example I might do an Amazon search for 'PSE8 for dummies', see what's about, then pop to Waterstones to flick through a copy) - see what topics THEY cover. See the level of detail they give. If you had to honestly recommend a product to someone, would it be the book or the training course? It's a nice easy metric to judge how valuable the training really is.
You asked about a section on the site where people can provide feedback on training videos - I actually have a section for that on my site. You can post and discuss Photoshop Elements training reviews here, and Photoshop training reviews here. I'd love to hear about any resources that you think are worth mentioning.
I hope that helps. All the best, Rob.
PS. Just a tip: In general, don't cross-post the same question over several different forum areas. =)

  • Audio included in training videos ?

Do the training videos have sound or is something wrong with
    my setup

They have sound...it seems like an automated voice though. I
wonder if it needs some type of text to speech config. I installed
the new voices that came with Captivate 4...it might be using
    those.
Also, I can't view them at work so there could possibly be
some type of restriction through a firewall that is blocking it.

  • Trouble viewing training videos

I have just installed my dreamweaver disc and when I go to look at training videos they will not play.  I have rececieve a msg which states my computer is not connected to the internet, however I can look at internet sites elsewise.  Is there a setting in dreamweaver that I need to change?

Why do you need Dreamweaver to watch videos?  The easiest way is to go to this link and watch anything you want:
    <http://tv.adobe.com/>
It reminds me of "Inspiration Browser" that was supposed to work with PSE10 and 11 but never did so now it is abandoned completely.
