Customise Menu Images

Hi,
On my MENU I have 15 buttons which lead to 15 tracks on my DVD. When each button is selected is it possible to change the entire background image?
Thanks,
Tom

Yes...using layered menus will do the trick. Look in the manual under pg. 297

I believe you will need css knowledge regardless of which
    method you use.
The spry widget will get automatically inserted onto your
    page, but you will
need to edit the associated css file to customise the way it
    looks :-)

  • "Type mismatch" error in IE7/8 when using custom Actions Menu Image

    Hi all,
in APEX 4.2: when using a custom image in the "Actions Menu Image" attribute in an interactive report, I get a "Type mismatch" error in IE7/8 when refreshing the report through PPR (filtering, sorting, paginating etc.). When I leave the "Actions Menu Image" field empty, everything works fine. The error doesn't seem to happen in IE9 (unless using compatibility mode), or in any non-IE browser.
I've been able to reproduce the issue in an application on apex.oracle.com:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=69347:1
Some debugging seems to indicate that the following line in widget.interactiveReport.js is the culprit:
lTemp.parentNode.replaceChild($x('apexir_WORKSHEET'), lTemp);Does anybody know if this is a known issue, or if there is some workaround?
    Thanks,
    Tobias

    Hi,
Great solution Paul! It cost me a while before I found out the Action Menu Image was causing my interactive reports to stop refreshing in IE10 and not other browsers. Your solution works great, I've implemented it with a few minor adjustments:
    - Put the css in report template (for some reason it didn't work in our own application stylesheet)
    - replace  'url("/c/action_dropdown.gif")' with 'url("&APP_IMAGE_PREFIX./<path_to_image>")'
    - place one dynamic action on page 0: after refresh of '#apexir_DATA_PANEL' , set event scope to "Dynamic".
    - Let the Dynamic action also fire on page load.
    - To make sure the dynamic action only works for pages with an interactive report add condition of type 'Exists' with expression:
    select 1
    from   dual
    where  :APP_PAGE_ID in (select page_id
                                            from   apex_application_page_ir
                                            where  application_id = :APP_ID

    Hi,
I've been struggling while trying to create original menu images. I've placed .png images on my page and chose the page they should link out to and I've also added states to each object but when I preview, they don't link out or show any of the states. What am I doing wrong?

Could you publish your Muse file to Business Catalyst as a trial site and share the URL so we may check what exactly is preventing the link to work as expected.

  • Customised menu slide and customised quiz feedback slide

    Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction as to how I can use Advanced Actions/Variables to produce two things, a menu slide that shows a tick when a section is complete, and a single quiz feedback slide that shows a summary of questions with correct/incorrect.
    Customised Menu Slide
I'm trying to build a menu so that a learner can go into any unit in any order. When they finish the slides in that unit, they are returned to the Menu slide and a tick appears against that unit. There is an example below to give you the idea.
    Quiz Feedback Slide
I'm also trying to build a quiz feedback slide to let learners know which questions they have gotten wrong in a quiz. I don't want to use the Quiz Review function as that shows me the questions and wrong answers. I would just like a summary slide, as in the example below.
For the course menu, I'm using some helpful posts from Lilybiri and trying to adjust her tutorial on customized course menu at http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/855/cpsid_85530.html to show the ticks instead of hiding the unit links. I'm not sure where to start with the quiz feedback slide.
I'm hoping that someone with a bit more experience of advanced actions/variables will be able to step in here and let me know if i'm going in the right direction with this.
    many thanks in advance,
    Loraine

Hey Lilybiri, sorry to revive this thread, but I would like to do this but with question pools? Can that be done? If yes, how...?
My issue with a little more detail: We are replacing the ageing, proprietary content creation solution of our LMS supplier with Captivate. The main purpose of our LMS is not providing learning-courses but testing our users with quizzes.
We are required (strictly governmentally regulated business) to train and quiz our employees on certain topics. So the main functionality used of Captivate, Version 6 btw, is the quizzing functionality. We went for Captivate because it's got the question pool ability which by the newest prescription we are required to deploy in our 2013 line of employee certification tests/quizzes.
After passing a quiz, the old solution gave a very nice overview of the answers given and the correctness of those (see screenshot attached). I'd like to replicate this to a certain degree with Captivate. Notice the screenshot by the way, the old solution got partial scoring which Captivate can also do, unfortunately not when using question pools. Anyway, not the issue here, the issue is the result slide. I have been asked to implement a result slide, similar to the old solution, where all the answers are listed and also a hint if the answer given was correct or wrong (as partially correct does not apply anymore, now that we are using question pools) because the user has then jump to that slide and review and discuss it with the teacher/test supervisor of that day.
We have a total of ~60 questions in 6 pools. 25 get picked, at least 3 out of every pool, smallest pool has 6 questions. So how can I track a) which question has been picked and displayed to the user b) as which slide number/at which position and c) which answer was given, in this highly shuffled, dynamically created environment? It's not like I can make a result slide with 60 lines and mark each line as either unseen, correct or wrong and maintain 60x3 variables during the quiz. Any ideas?
Of course, the user could just review the whole quiz and quickly skip all questions answered correctly and discuss the ones the user failed. But this somehow doesn't seem right and unprofessional, especially since the old solution could do that since years. At least a hint which questions the user got wrong would be the minimum expected...
    Thanks in advance.

  • ZLauncher - a customisable menu like launcher

ZLauncher - a customisable menu like launcher
    Description
ZLauncher is a menu like launcher, to edit configuration files and launch applications and custom commands.
I wanted to replace the default openbox menu with a nice looking 2-D menu,
allowing easy icon selection, text and command editing.
For example: I use it to start & edit application, project, configuration files.
    Features
        * Fast (written in vala)
        * Lightweight (depends only on gtk3)
        * Customisable (every color can be changed)
    Installation
       AUR Package, git version:
       https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/zlauncher-git
    Homepage
       For more info, screenshots visit:
       https://github.com/zeromancer/zlauncher

    1. Right now:
It is already possible to use keyboard navigation only.
Where is a little info icon at the down, right corner that listens all keyboard shortcuts (or alternatively you can look at the screenshot section on the github page)
    2. Your proposal:
bash like auto completion - is something that gnome do / gmrun / kupfer / or other applications like that already do
    3. I agree that it could be useful to define own shortcuts for each entry
I have created a feature request for custom shortcuts,

  • Problems with customising menu template backgrounds

    Hi.
I am experiencing problems with changing the background of the included disc menu templates in PE9. I can change the background image to anything i like on the computer and all seems to work OK but when i burn the project to disc (PAL_Dolby DVD) the custom background image has gone and been replace with the default template imagine.
Anyone got any ideas whats going on!
    Thanks

This issue showed up with PrE 9. I do not recall reading of it with earlier versions.
I do not know if the PSD files have some corruption, or if some change in PrE 9's code "did the deed," but many have filed a Bug Report, and I ask that you please do, as well. It should be an easy fix for Adobe (but I am not a coder, or software engineer, and could be wrong).
    Good luck to us all,

  • Sony dn1050 hdmi handshake, menu image disapears

I've just bought a SONY DN1050 and I have the following problem:
    - I connect it through a brand new hdmi 1m long cable to a Panasonic TX55AS802 TV
    - Switch ON the TV
    - Switch ON the receiver
    - The receiver's menu appears in the screen in the HDMI 1 port
    - After a few seconds or after a few clicks in the menu, the image fully dissapears from the screen
    I've checked the following:
    - Another HDMI cable
    - Both cables works fine with a PS3 and the same TV
    - Factory reset the TV
    - Factory reset the receiver
    - Disconnect all speakers and leave only the HDMI cable to the TV
Any idea why the image just disapears or what can I do? Is the unit faulty?
    Thanks

  • How to Customise Menu Clock...?

Hello all, an "age old question" if you may...
How do I or how can I customise the Menu Bar Clock to show the Date too besides the now "default" Day and Time?
...and I don't want to "resort" to using a Shareware or something...
    Thanks and cheers

Just for information, this technique may cause unwanted, duplicate, and/or sometimes truncated date/time entries in some windows. One example that I can cite is in System Preferences>.mac>Sync window where I am presented with "Last Sync: 11/14/05 Nov 14, 2005"
    ;~)

  • I'm getting an Internal Muxer Error when trying to build a DVD project with still menu images

It originally happened with moving menu content and a help search said it was due to the loop point on a menu being after the end point of the asset but this was not the case.
I've now changed all the menu content to static images and the error is still occurring.

If you want a still image for your DVD menu, click on the Menu in the Outline, then look at the Inspector. Is the Duration set to 0? If not then change it to zero. Also look below that to "At End" and make sure that is set to Still.
Also make sure the image that you imported was a RGB image in either JPEG, TIFF, PNG, or PICT format (PNG would be your best choice), and that the image is SD resolution (i.e., 720x480 for NTSC).

  • User Menu Image disappear when update the system menu

    Hi all,
We created an user menu after the system menu Sales A/R, with an image as an icon.
And also we changed some of the system menu description.
But the problem is when you change some information from the Admistration menu, the system menu is updated and all the changes we made in the systems menu description and the image of our user menu, disappear.
The system menu description return to the oficial description and our image isn't showed after the system menu update.
    Thanks,
    Fran.

    Dear Francislaine,
There is a very good example which might be helpful in this context; given by SAP which is installed while installing SDK. The sample project is stored in the followng default folder :
    C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One SDK\Samples\COM UI DI\VB.NET\UIDIBasicApp
In th above sample project the basic need for adding images to the menu has been addressed.
PS: Would it be possible to change the system menu description before adding the image to the custom menu?

  • Forms 10g  menu image

    Hii,
I am using forms 10g in which i am having a image showing my application information. I want this image to be displayed all the time. Is there ant thing such as menu can be having image.
One solution i have that is i am using a form in full size which is having image and i am displaying this form with no close allowed property.
But when i am opening a another form and i clicks on the form with image the form i have opened hides behind this form with image. How can i handle this situation.
    please help

There is a solution in MetaLink. See Subject: "Drop Downs Don't Work With Dual Monitors (Extended Desktop)".
    Symptoms
When Forms application is dragged from a monitor to another in a dual monitor system, the drop down lists stops working
    Cause
This issue was caused both by the lack of Multi-screen Setup Support in Java versions prior to JDK1.2 and by Bug 2772796 - Apps6: Drop Down Menus Invisible When Using Dual Or Multiple Monitor Setup
The bug is fixed in Forms 10.1.2.2 and beyond. It allowed the bounds to be calculated fine across the now available displays.
    Solution
If using Forms version 9.0.4.3 then you can apply Patch 2772796 on top of it.
If using Forms 10.1.2.0.2 then upgrade to Forms version 10.1.2.2 or beyond.
Note: If using Oracle Applications 11i, please consult the solution rather in the Note 430179.1 - Drop Down Menus Invisible When Using Dual Or Multiple Monitors

  • Converting menu images from PAL to NTSC

I have to prepare an NTSC version of a PAL dvd project.
I am firstly converting all the material, prior to building the dvd. One question though - I have used a lot of stills as menu backgrounds that were extracted from my PAL videos via the export still image function of FCP HD. They are obviously PAL format. What is the easiest way to rescale them to fit the NTSC frame, and not have any distortion? And what is the correct format to import them in - 640x480 or 720x480? This project is intended to be watched on TV not computer screens so I assume the latter.
    jake
    g4 dual 1 ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)
      Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Just feed them as they are to iDVD.
iMovie HD exports stills from PAL projects as 784x576 and from NTSC as 720x528 so the aspect ratios are almost the same.
iDVD will scale them internally as needed.

How are you going to convert the actual PAL video to NTSC? With JES Deinterlacer?

    Hi Beau:
That particular graphic will be hard to work with because
    it's "tilt" will
require a lot of screen space.
{IMHO, it's a bit crude and "comic bookish" for the look you
    have otherwise
    designed).
    With a more right-angled image, you can insert a 3 row x 3
    column table (9
cells) in that container, and slice your image into four
    square corner
images, and small tiling background images for the top, sides
    & bottom.
The center cell will contain only your content and will
    expand as needed.

For example: how can we replace the expand and collapse icons (not the icon against the node) on the Tree component to a different icon from that provided on in the Theme.
Some forumns suggests to set custom style property against the component item. That works for most situations. However I cannot see how we can overwrite the expand and collapse icons generated by the Tree control using style sheet.

Yes...using layered menus will do the trick. Look in the manual under pg. 297
