Customising icons

Hi guys,
We are customising icons to reflect the preferences for this particular customer and have created new images respecting the file sizes and file names of the original files. The custom performance status icons come through fine but the revised Initiative icons do not display.
We have followed the procedure in the customising guide using File Store for all the revised images but while the performance icons come through the initiative ones don't. We have stopped and restated JPIP several times, cleared browser caches several times and restarted the whole machine but still no joy. Any ideas? Is there somewhere else the original icons could be cached? What is the trigger for the change to be pushed through - the JPIP restart or the machine restart? Switching between the default icon sets works straight away but replacing icon set 5 with our new icons took a kick for it to apply on screen.
Also which screens use the larger larger Print icons? We have tried using the Print link at the top of the screen, and Operational reviews but appear to just use the standard (smaller) icons.
There are also images for Initiatives print_budget_red.png and print_schedule_red.png that shows the the icon with the word description (over/behind). When are these used? Again I've tried the Print link and Operational Reviews but they don't appear!

Hi Colin,
You are talking about the performance icons, right? The perfomance icons for Initiatives are exactly the same as for the scorecard, so the files you replaced should be used in both screens.
After loading the new images to the filestore, you should check if the files were successfully loaded. For this, you can try to access them directly from the browser, eg.:
http://localhost:50000/strategy/files/red.png
The icon you see there is the one that should be used for both the initiatives and scorecard.

Replace grouped window task icon from java coffee cup with customised icon

I have an application that a child JFrame instance can be triggered from the main JFrame instance. In that case, these JFrames are collapsed under one group icon on my task bar in windows, which is the java coffee cup icon with tooltip of Java(TM) Platform. When i expand the list, each individual JFrame still has the right personised icon. Can anyone suggest how do I customised the group icon to be my own icon and have personised tooltip? Customise icon bar?

I've spent loads of time - mostly frustrating - trying to learn how to use InDesignb after being a Pagemaker user for years. I've resolved many questions, but still have some outstanding - I'll probably group them on separate 'threads'. So first:
I've found the customise menus - but they are just a choice of which bits to do or not do from predetermined InDesign menus & panels. Confusingly some items are on more than one.
Is there a way to customise the icon bars (or whatever they are called top and left side). They include lots of things I don't use, but I'd like to include others - eg group/ungroup, show hidden characters/or not, relink, send to back/front, spell check, textwrap ignore, etc. These and others were just a click away on PageMaker (right click,Control panel, etc), but seem to need several clicks to get at now. Something like the drag & drop icons (onto or off) on Word 'customise' would be helpful.
Is there an icon to show if an object has been resized proprtinally? - PageMaker had 2 rectangles (disproportionate), or 2 squares (in proportion) on the Control Panel when an illustration was selected. I find the InDesign resizing & cropping very confusing to handle.
I have put most of the 'panels' on the right side list but often just to get at the one thing which is not already on the top panel, which takes several clicks.

Sorry, I think I was unclear. Yes, you can edit the control panel menus from the Edit > Menus command, but that only affects the menus, not the buttons. Perhaps you haven't yet discovered the panel menus... they are little buttons with a triangle and some horizontal lines that open a "flyout" menu for each panel.
Open the control panel menu ( the button is on the far right end) and choose Customize... to see what can be turned off and on. Most of the buttons are clustered into groups that are on or off as a group, and most are fairly intuitive. The ones that look like a family tree or flowchart are for choosing the content or container for a selected object, or for moving through a group to selct individual objects. If a button is active, there should also be a tool tip if you hover over it. Help is not too complete on this, unfortunately.
You can choose what is displayed (up to what will fit on the panel -- some things may be hidden on narrower screens even if selected), but not the positioning. If there is room, the control panel will display many controls for both character and paragraph level adjustments in either mode.

NOT SHOWING CUSTOMISED ICONS OF PICS AND MUSIC FILES IN FINDER

ACTUALLY WHEN I M OPENIN FILES IN FINDER THEN ICONS ARE NOT SHOWIN PICS AND ARTWORKS BUT ITS JST SHOWIN PREVIEW ICON AS IN APPLICATION FOLDER.

i did wht u said but its not working. right now i hve saved two file on my desktop but its jst showing as a preview icon. but on clickin them its gettin opened. but at the same time if i m opting for quick review by pressin spacebar key then its displayin "loading".

Icon CHANGE in Node Renaming for JTree

HI all ,
In JTree, V can rename a DefaultMutableTreeNode , by pressing F2 or triple click .
By using the DefaultTreeCellRenderer ,
I applied icons also by -- tree.setCellRenderer(myCellRenderer);
But at the time of renaming , or when v press F2 ,
the icon is changed to default settings ( leafIcon / openIcon / closedIcon ).
How can I apply other Icons to nodes at the time of node renaming ?

I am renaming the leaf nodes and MyTreeCellRenderer class override the method
public Component getTreeCellRendererComponent(JTree tree, Object value, boolean sel, boolean expanded, boolean leaf, int row, boolean hasFocus)
and set a different icon to the leaf nodes.
And when i am renaming a leaf node , the default ( leafIcon ) icon will come only to the renaming node at the time of renaming . When i hit the enter key . the default leafIcon will disappear and my customised icon will come .........
My question is that at the time of renaming ........ How v can getback the customised icon ?

New Runtime Icon

I am looking at adding a customised icon to replace the
standard Authorware Runtime Icon. I have searched on this forum and
there are 2 threads that suggest MicroAngelo. I have checked it out
and had a look around it, and still cant fingure out how to use the
new icon with Authorware.
Can someone please tell me how this is done, and if there are
any better icon creating software out there??
One final thing, is there a certain size icon that can and
cant be used. As MicroAngelo allows up to 256x256 and as little as
16x16. Does Authorware prefer a certain icon size?

Problem While Using SET PF-STATUS

Hi friends,
Here im doing a ALV interactive report , in which two buttons are placed DISPLAY and CHANGE by using SET PF-STATUS ,when ever the user select a record on output and clicks on those button it ill navigate to corresponding transaction, all works fine but here im using Customised application toolbar in which im placing Two Customised Buttons(DISPLAY,CHANGE),standard functions like SORT,PRINT,SEARCH,TOTAL,SUBTOTAL... in the STATUS defined for my program.
The problem is when Bulk data there in output TOTALSigma) not working and displays a message and another one is SUBTOTAL icon to be displayed after total is done in standard reports but here with Total icon the Subtotal icon is displaying in output.
i need to get the SUBTOTAL icon only after the TOTAL is done,
One Solution for this is we can Copy the Staus of Standard program into our customised Status in SE41 tcode, but im not able to get any Status of STANDARD program along with my Customised icons(DISPLAY and CHANGE)..
i hope i information provoded for the issue is enough to resolve the problem
if not let met know for further clarifications needed.

Hi Niranjan,
First copy standard status using program SAPLKKBL and status STANDARD_FULLSCREEN into your customized program and add your two buttons and code accordingly. It works.

If you have any commercially advertised/available antivirus software installed on your Mac, completely uninstall this per the instructions on the AV developer's website.
Antivirus software can slow down the normal operation of OS X and can negatively affect OS X performance and operation.
Do you have apps like MacKeeper or any other maintenance apps like CleanMyMac 1 or 2, TuneUpMyMac or anything like these apps, installed on your Mac? These types of apps, while they appear to be helpful, can do too good a job of data "cleanup" causing the potential to do serious data corruption or data deletion and render a perfectly running OS completely dead and useless leaving you with a frozen, non-functional Mac.
Plus, these type of apps aren't really necessary. They really aren't.
There are manual methods to clear off unnecessary data off of your Mac that are safer and you have complete control over your Mac and not just leave a piece of auto cleaning software in charge of clearing off data off of your Mac.
Their potential of causing OS X issues outweighs the implied good and benefits these types of hard drive or memory "cleaning" apps are written to do.
Plus, the software companies that write these apps make it hard to easily uninstall these apps if something DOES go wrong and these apps work in a way where you have no recovery or revert function to return your Mac back to its former, working state in the event something does go wrong.
It is best to never, EVER download and install these types of apps.
The risk to your system and data is too great a risk!
Search the web to learn how to correctly and properly uninstall these kinds of apps.
They all uninstall differently.

How can I avoid losing my customised desktop icon arrangement?

I have a lot of folder icons on my desktop arranged in a specific way. Recently when I shut down and then re-boot I find all the desktop icons have been re-arranged. This is a real pain! How can I prevent this from happeining?
I've been using Mac computers for many years and have never had this problem.

Using the Microsoft help icon (?) in a customised tab integrated in the help menu

I am using the Visual Studio and customizing it for my company. I want to use their help icon in a tab in the help menu which is personalized and integrated with the Visual studio build. I am unable to find the image (?) used. Can anyone help me in locating
the image and how to reference it so that I can use it for my integrated menu.

The real issue is that which VS version you were using.
For the VS2010, it has the VS2010ImageLibrary.zip. This file is typically installed in … \Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\VS2010ImageLibrary\1033\.
Please Extract All for this zip file, and then follow the directions to extract the images.
You could get the help image here:
...\VS2010ImageLibrary\_Common Elements\Objects
But like VS2013, as James's suggestion, you would download it by yourself.

Customising the icons on overview page of ESS

Hi ,
I have a requirement for ESS in portal that i have to change the icons available in Overview page of ESS.
Say for example for near Wrking time we have a icon clock icon where i found this under the path spro->personal management->Define Resource-> and for the resource EMPLOYEE_WORKTIME_PIC i found the value for Object name: calendar_clock.gif.
Now i would like to know where this gif file is stored in portal so that i will replace my custom icon into that place.
Please let me know the path where this file is stored in the portal.

The icons are not stored in portal content. Its stored in the J2EE server path of the software components like:-..pcui_gp~xssutils/Components/com.sap.xss.ser.xssmenu.vc.areagroup.VcXssMenuAreaGroup/
You need to copy and past your icon there.

on N97 mini it is possible to put shortcut for internet bookmark on the home screen. However, I don't know, how it is possible to change the icon which is automatically set to the sheet of paper with the globe? Is this possible at all?

Hi, not unless you can get someone to build you a custom theme, but try installing and saving Opera mini as a shortcut and it will give you 90% of what you want

The icons on my iPad 2 keep shaking and then it reboots continuously - NOT CUSTOMISATION

This started on saturday night (it's now tuesday) and I don't know what to do!
I took it into the store and they said they couldn't help, but advised me to do a factory reset, so I did and if anything, it made it worse.
The icons on the home screen keep shaking and jerking around, and when they stop shaking, my ipad goes black, then the apple logo appears, then it goes black again, and this continues for hours. (It's been doing that since sunday night)
At the apple store, they said they could send it off to be repaired for £250! I might as well buy a new tablet! Besides all that, I've only had my iPad 2 for two years, and after spending £400 on a brand new one, I expected it to last longer.
I'm really disappointed.
Please help?

You will need to force the iPad into recover mode then restore as new. You may need to try this several times for it to "stick" so don't give up.
Follw these instructions.
