what is work bench request,
How we differentiate betwwen customising request and work bench request while releasing in se09,

Hi,
Customising request is the request generated when you do any configuration changes.Ex.creating new sales off.and assigning it to Sales area.
The flow is you define and assign in DEV Server and later on move it to QAS and then PRD,i.e.,DEV->QAS-->PRD.
When you drill down the request,it will show all the details of changes,you can easily find wheather it is Functional or Tec.
Workbench request is concernd to ABAP

Product Category - Customisation Request

Hi All,
We have maintained chineese language descriptions for some of the product category ID's in our development server.(TCode used is COMM_HIERARCHY).
At this stage there was no customisation request created for the above changes.Could some one give an idea to capture the above process in the form of customisation request as we need to move the same to Quality and Production.

Product Categories have GUIDs associated and these GUIDs are system dependent. So it is not advisable to have them in a Transport request. Thats why when you creating them it wont prompt for request. You would need to recreate them.

Table of customisation requests

Hi all , when we create customisation request, in which table it get stored?
In any project there are many requests , so when I want to release or transport it to Development or Production client then is there any option to transport it in bulk like when w upload master data through LSMW ?

you have to prepare this before your start with customizing.
you need to create one transport manually and add all your consultants to this transport.
and then you communicate to all consultants that they should add to this transport when they create transport request for the project.
Then you can easily transport it in one go.
But after the fact, you can combine the various transports into one transport, but in this case I dont see much benefit compared to the individual transport.

Regarding customizing request

Hi,
I did some modification to existing Org chart in PPOME tcode.
it was asking for customizing request.i have given wrong customizing request.
now i want to remove the that customizing request and i want to assign it some other request.
my question is if i delete the current customizing request number will it going to delete the original record.
if it won't delete then if the refresh the org chart will it going to ask the customizing request again .
Please can any one confirm this for deleting the customizing request.

goto that custmising request.
click on the objects present in that request.
Delete the object from that request - Right click on the the object & clicl on delete.
goto the object again & edit something. it will again prompt for the transport request.
assign a correct customising request.

Customizing Request while Hiring an employee using PA40

Hi All
1.
I am hiring an employee using Hiring Action (PA40) , once i enter the data in Infotype 0000 (Actions) & Infotype 0001 (Org Assignment) while saving it is asking for a Customizing Request .
Pls let me know why is it asking for the request & how to avoid it .

The customising request can be controlled by us. You can access the table T77S0 directly and search for group TRSP and Sem. abbr CORR. If you want to control using the navigation path from IMG>Personnel Management>Organisation Management>Transport>Setup Transport connection.
Having X is value abbreviation column does not generate the Customising Request
Mr Mohan had just put the same how ever.

STRANGE!!! Script in a Workbench Request.

Hi All,
Generally i am told:
1. All Client Dependent objects (Table Entries) ask for customizing request.
2. All Client Independent objects (Cross-Client table entries) ask for Workbench Request.
The SAP Script which is a client dependent object, but when i was saving my script it asked for a Workbench Request.
Could any one please let me know why this happens.

You have mentioned the answer inthe question itself. Customising requests are for Client dependent Table Entries. Since Script is not a table entry but a R/3 object it will be saved in the Workbench Request.

CUP - field mapping from request to SU01

Hi,
I have configured field mapping in order for all my fields to provision to SU01 when a user is created in the system. However I am struggling with the accounting number which is a standard delivered field in CUP -> Customisation -> Request Form Screen. Should all fields used from the Request Form Screen not provision automatically?
I tried to add Accounting Number in CUP -> Field Mapping -> Provisioning but with no success. When I add a record I pick up the accounting number under 'AC field' list but not under the 'Application field' list. I am however unsure if this step is required. I thought that all fields on the Request Form Screen should provision automatically and only custom fields should be mapped in CUP -> Field Mapping -> Provisioning.
Any advise would be highly appreciated.

Does anyone know whether the fields used from CUP -> Customization -> Request Form Customization on a CUP request is automatically provisioned to SU01? Or should the provisioning of these fields be set up somewhere in configuration.

Request sending client to client with in single server

hi
i have created one request, how do i transport this request from one client to another client within the same server
i have created already 200 and 300 clients, now my question is , how to transport this customises request from 200 to 300 client in the same server..

hi i have defined a logical filepath for my report from where it will read the files ....
can i include this file path in to my TR...which i have created using transaction FILE if so how should i include..

When you log into the FILE transaction it says cross client table.. So that means it is a customising change..
You need to create a customising request and include the change in that request. this is to move it from one system to another.
that is dev to quality for eg.
but to get it in all clients in dev you dont have to do anyting. since it is cross client you will get it by creating in one client itself.

I have program which change data in tables by the user .
when the user save his change i want a popup like in sm30 that will ask him to create change request.
his there any fm that will do this or something else??

If an Object needs to be transported from one server to the other then we need a Workbench Request/Customising requests depending on the requirement ie configuration or ABAP related developments.
If I am not wrong you intend to generate a number so that you can keep track of changes that were done and not to move from one server to another server.
In such a case just explore if you can generate an external number range and generate one NUMBER each for every change in the table using some wraper program and storing it in a table.
For generating a number you can use
CALL FUNCTION 'NUMBER_GET_NEXT.
Just an idea,not sure how far it is feasible

EEWB customozing request

Hello all ,
We created EEWB project(activity enhanchment) with 2 request - customizing and workbench.Customising request is empty.
As a result of EEWB project new TAB page with additional fields created in Activity.Than we change Layout for those additional fields.
We transport all this to QAS. I can see EEWB structure in dictionary, and new tab page in activity - but this Tab page is empty - there are no fields on it.
Any ideas?

At first I also think that layout request is a problem, but this request transpored correctly.
Finally I solved the problem : I just miss definition in trn EEWC.

No, it should be under Cusotmizing request.
This is because of the following diff:
In workbench request .... it can be programs(repository objects) and cross client data (ie not specific to one client).
Changes to client-specific Customizing objects are recorded in Customizing requests.

Issue Regarding transport request

Can any body let me know
whether the table entries trasnported to Quality Sytem should be in Workbench Request OR Customization request.
Which is the best practise to transport entries in a table which were done using SPRO in enhanceing the customer master data screen by creating a subscren .

the entries will come under the customising request and the table definition(ZTABLE) will come uner the workbench request.

Transport Request for Analysis Authorization

Hello Everyone,
When a trasport request is created for any BI analysis authorization ( including the Z*), the type of trasport request created
is workbench request. What is the reason behind this because when any Customised Role / Profile is included in transport request this will be customised request unlike analysis authorization.

The difference is In BI, the AA authorizations are independent. Any objects that are independent of the client will be captured in the workbench type of transport request, when they are required in the other client. Hence you can see the Workbech type request for transporting changed Repository objects and changed system settings from cross-client tables. However, customizing requests involve changes recorded to client-specific Customizing objects .
The Analysis authorizations are always captured in a Workbench type of transport request by default due to the above design.
You can still transport both the PFCG role, and AA in a single transport request, you can do the same by following the steps mentioned in the below Wiki:

Transport request recommended transport sequence

I have created a new Document Type in SAP DMS and would like to transport through the system. I am due to transport Roles, Customizing requests and Workbench requests.
Can you please advise on what the recommended sequence of transporting is? Is it Workbench requests first then Customising requests second then Roles last?

Hi Keith,
There are two types of requests, one is released and secone one is modified. You can select both of them.
There is no sequence for transporting. You can transport in any sequence as per your desire. For transporting the requests you need authorization for t-code scc1. scc1 is used to transport from one client to another. Also workbech and customizing there is no sequesnce. Better trabsport workbench first.
