Customising the home tab

I'm using ADF 11.1.1.6 and JHeadstart 11.1.1.4 and I want to add content to the JHS-generated home tab, specifically a dashboard with some tables, a graph, and a URL data control.
Should I let JHS generate the home tab, manually add the dashboard and content in Jdev, and then customise the Velocity homepage template in some way to retain the dashboard?
Or should I stop the generation of the home tab (as mentioned in Application home page question and build my own tab? With this approach I suppose I'd need to create another tab from one of the same application modules that I've used for other tabs.
In either case, is there a way to use the JHS generator to specify and produce the content within a dashboard? The graph example in the tutorial relies upon using an overflow area which doesn't seem appropriate when I don't need the associated table.
It mentions in the JHS tutorial, "+Note that you can easily customize this home page+"... but then doesn't give me any clues as to how...
Thanks,
David

David,
Just switch off generation of the home page as explained in the post your refrerred to.
You don;t need to create another tab, the home tab is still generated, only the content will no longer be generated.
JHS might help with generating dashboard content, but that all depends on the type of content you want to place in the dashboard.
For example, you could create a dashboard page which contains 4 task flows as regions, those task flows can be generated using JHeadstart, and then you just drag and drop onto you af:panelDashBoard - showDetailItem.

  • Viewing the "News" on the Home tab - Question

    Hello all!
Does anyone know what iView to add to the Home tab so that it displays the News items added in Content Management > Explorer > News ?
    Regards,
    Glenn

    Hi Glenn,
You can create e new iView 'Km-Navigation'. In the iView-properties, you have to change the 'path to initially displayed folder' to /documents/News. Use 'NewsBrowser' as LayoutSet.
But would suggest, that you create your own iView (e.g. by copying the existing one) and that you also copy the xml-forms-project. Please find more info on this here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/8f/fe743c74fa6449e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
To be able to create new News, you can use the same iView and use 'NewsExplorer' as 'LayoutSet'. You could also create another folder to store your news to avoid any problems with other people using the same iView e.g. for testing purposes.
    Hope this helps
    Kind regards

  • How can i stretch pictures in picture library webpart and remove the home tab that comes with the site

    Hello people
how can i stretch images to fit into my picture library webpart?
also how can i remove the Home tab that comes with change the look.

    Hi,
    Let’s verify the following:
Whether you use the picture  library web part or Image Viewer web part or Picture Library Slideshow Web Part.
I think you should custom the web part to stretch images to fit into your web part. There is no OOTB method to achieve it.
Whether the home tab is your library name.
To remove the Home tab, edit the web part->Appearance->”Chrome” choose none.

  • New Window from "FILE- NEW-WINDOW" duplicates all the currently open tabs in the new window. I want new window with just the "Home" tab please?

    Running Firefox 3.6.13 on 64Bit Win7.
I like to group tabs on a topic in a window, and when the tabs get to be too many, or a new topic, I do FILE->NEW-WINDOW and expect a new window with just one default (Home) tab. Instead I get a new window with ALL the tabs of the first window.
I have checked all the Options I could find. Nothing helped. I CAN make a new Window with just one tab if I right-click a link and say "Open in NEW Window".

A new window should only open with the home page(s).<br />
If you see differently then you need to check your extensions.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • BOBJ 4.1 SP2 Launchpad does not show 'Home' tab in the portal running in IE10

We have installed BOBJ 4.1 SP2 and running SAP portal on IE (Internet Explorer) 10.
When we open the launchpad in the portal, it does not open the "Home" tab and instead just shows the menu bar in the 'Documents Tab'.
This works perfectly fine in IE 9.
But when I open the Launch Pad separately in IE 10, I see the Home tab with no issues.
Has Anyone seen this behavior and if so what is the resolution.

  • Oracle 11g OMS: Database Instance Home Tab:  Page Refreshed Timezone Issue

Hi all...I've searched the forums and search engines for specific information on this issue, but have not seen a viable solution so far. We have Oracle 11g Grid Control 11.1.0.1
installed on a Solaris V490 using Solaris 10, with an Oracle 11.2.0.1 database.
The Database instance Home tab for all 50+ databases shows the date and time of the 'Page Refreshed' in GMT. The OS and the Agent software both are configured
with the TZ set to US/Eastern. All other page displays e.g. Performance, Availability for Data Guard Standby etc. all show the refreshed time in EDT, it is ONLY
the Home tab for the instance that has the GMT format.
I have not seen any threads or other information that describes specifically how to correct this or even to change it. There are many related posts about the Agent
end.properties, the OS /etc/timezone configuration parameters, the TZ environment variable etc. but in my case they are all set properly.
Does anyone have any additional ideas or suggestions or knowledge about how , or even whether, this can be resolved?
    Thanks!
    DPH

sqlplus ... Connected to an idle instance. That means the database you're trying to connect with is offline, thus the:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not availableNo big surprise there, instance (that you're trying to connect with) is offline.
First, make sure the service OracleServiceXE for the database is running, see the services applet, Start/Run/services.msc and if it does not show "Started" hit the Start button with the OracleServiceXE selected.
sqlplus sys/admin@XE as sysdbaThat connection attempt uses sqlnet to the XE tnsalias. If you're on the database host the ...@XE part is not needed, better to use:
    $ sqlplus /nolog
    connect /as sysdba;
    ... Connected. #if its running
    -- or use:
    $ sqlplus
    ... username: sys as sysdba
    ... password ...
    Connected.
    -- also try
    $ sqlplus system
    ... password: ....
    Connected.
    select name from v$database;
...That also assumes the environment/registry entries have been configured correctly.
tnsping XE ... Attempting to contact [tnsalias connect details] ... OK (10 msec)That tells you the listener is running. It does not mean anything more than your listener is running at the host and port specified for your tnsalias are correct. It does not attempt an actual database connection. So if the database is offline but the listener is running a tnsping will not identify that particuler "problem".
lsnrctl status ... Endpoints Summary ... PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=chilakamarthy)(PORT=1521)))...That bit of info also verifies the listener is running. Again, check your services.msc applet make sure the service shows Started.

  • Wrong paths in WGM Home tab.  How to correct?

I'm having some trouble with creating home directories on my server. The create button is not working and there are a couple of bad paths in the WGM Home tab. How can I delete these entries in the Home tab and make sure that only valid paths are in there. I am unable to delete a couple, the minus button is greyed out.
Just to provide a little further info, I had DNS running on this server (I think incorrectly) and one of the paths that I cannot delete is a path listing the server with it's DNS name /Network/Servers/ns.eocserver.local/Users/<user>.
The path should be /Network/Servers/eocserver.local/Users/<user>. How do I clean up these entries?

Here's another interesting aspect to my predicament. If I log into terminal, instead of showing:
    eocserver:~ administrator$
for my terminal prompt i get the following:
    ns:~ admin$
My server is called "eocserver" and not "ns" and my DNS is now shut down.
Another curious thing is that now any new accounts that are created load on the client eMacs within a second compared to at least 30 seconds before this all happened. Not sure why that is but that part is awesome. Since the day this server was set up clients have had to wait for at least 30 seconds for their accounts to load on the client machines.
It's like something went wrong and as a result the login process for clients is way better. This is rather disconcerting and I'd like to clean it up but I don't want the lag to return.

  • Desktop App HOME Tab Problem

Have updated to the latest version of CC desktop and when I am on the HOME tab the "Activity Stream" section that used to list all the updates I have done now just shows a constantly rotating blue circle but never loads the list of changes.  If I go to the APPS tab it does list my Apps.  Any ideas why I might now have a rotating circle instead of a list of my updates?
    Howard

Here is what I did to fix the problem.  Going on the premise that the problem occurred because I updated Acrobat Pro through the Adobe Updater and not the CC Desktop App....I deleted Acrobat Pro from the computer and deleted the desktop APP..  I redownloaded the Desktop App and then redowloaded Acrobat Pro through that.  Now I make sure top do absolutely nothing in terms of updating unless it comes through the CC Desktop App and all is well.  You would think they would program the Desktop App to override the updater messages otr at least be able to tell that something has been updated through the Updater but apparently that isn't the case.

  • Wrong number of policy violations in Home tab

We deleted manually entries in the mgmt_current_violation table. On the detail tab of policy violations, theses entries are gone. But on the Home tab the number of policy violations is still the old one.

    Andy,
thanks for your reply. To answer your questions
    > I'm assuming that read rights have been granted.
in fact read rights have been granted
    > For the GWChecks, please confirm that it was a Contents check/fix.
    yes, it was
    > Do you have regular GWChecks on Contents?
Yes, we do process weekly contents checks every Sunday at 1:00 AM on the PO since we introduced GW in 2002.
Today I found time to check some things out. I retracted the proxy rights on the computer of the affected user and reassigned them. I tried this several times with and without restarting the GW-Client as well as on my computer and on the computer of the affected user.
The next thing I tried was assigning the proxy rights from another PC. I did not just grant read rights but any rights available and was successful: I saw any item in the mailbox and even the mailbox properties told me the number of items. For testing purpose I retracted the proxy rights and reassigned them again as I exactly did before and surprisingly did not succeed. I tried this several times even with reduced (means just read) rights without any success.
Next step was to analyze the rules on the account of the affected user. She has a long rule which finally says that mails received from or sent to special addresses should be marked 'private'.
Finally I reassigned the rights again from another computer I hadn't used before and granted any rights available again. This method again was successful.
The problem is that I don't know why... :-)
Anyway - thanks again and a happy new year!

  • CreativeCloud Home Tab Does Not Load

My application manager was just updated to Creative Cloud.
When I login the Home tab just has a endless spinning wheel. All other tabs work.
Any idea how to fix this? I already tired a uninstall and reinstall plus the I deleted the opm.db file.
Also, I own disc copies of my Adobe products. Do I even need creative cloud for anything?

This is how i get around the problem, quit out of Adobe Cloud manager and manually launch the app from the utilities folder/Adobe Creative cloud/ACC/Creative cloud.
Seems to work, however every time you restart your computer you need to go through the same process. Adobe don't seem to have a proper fix for this problem yet.
