Customizable folder-layout (Settings)

Hi All,
I have searched for posts, that could belong to my use case, but I couldnt find some.
Use Case: I want an option, so that all portal users could chnage their own folder layout - that is no problem (Details--> presentation).
But in the presentation iView there are two options (1st) Settings for all users (2nd) Settings for you. I think that the 1st-option should only be shown for admin-users, not for normal users. But the normal user, who has permissions to open the details-dialog has also the permission to change the layout set portal wide. In my mind it is dangerous. My question: Can I change the permission, so that the normal portaluser has only read-permissions for the portalwide-layout set and write-permissions for his own behaviour.

the default behavior is mentioned in <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/4a/5a899fd6a7364dad14fd5f503f7085/frameset.htm">SAP Help</a>:
<i>All users can personalize the presentation of folders in the Details dialog box. Choose Settings -> Presentation to do this. You can select one of more layout profiles that are graphically depicted using thumbnails.
If you are assigned to the service permission Layout, you can define the folder display not only for your user, but also for all users. However, the other users can override this setting
</i>
So, you need to make sure that the "standard users" have not the service permission "Layout" or "Full Control" (default!)

It's a challenge when syncing a device for the first time to go through all the apps and apply them back to the same folders as on your other iphone.
I've seen suggestions of taking pictures of the correct layout, then manually applying it to the new device. Big time waister.

I'm afraid there is no short workaround. One thing that you could do if you were REALLY desperate is reset your device to factory settings and then restore it from your other device's backup, but that is rather risky and you probably don't want to take your chances just for folder layouts. I would just do it manually.

Change of page layout settings in bsp

HI Gurus,
i am working on customizing a weblayout for objective settings&appraisals(ecc6.0).
I have defined the classes and methods in bsp applications.
I need to customize the page layout and split the frame work of the layout into header and details part.
I am not able to find the web layout settings(where should the web layout settings changed.

Harry,
Short answer: No - either a shape or some other media - when placed using the Document Setup options, the color shape is placed in the background of all other objects (it becomes the page color) anything placed on the page in the normal Edit Mode will be on top of the background and not hidden.
See attached images - I placed a shape on part of the document to show the original and added color - if you stretch the shape to cover the page, the entire page will take on the color of the shape:

Hello,
Add a parameter for layout on selection-screen (p_varmm LIKE disvariant-variant).
As you are in backgroud mode, ALV will be printed with this layout (assuming you call correctly the MF ALV_LIST or REUSE_ALV_GRID)

New users not showing up while trying to set folder permission settings

Server 2012
This is a new virtual domain server and file server in a starwind cluster, I just started migrating users last week.
This last weekend (two days ago) the cluster crashed while doing windows updates on this server. I have been unable to get it to download any updates since without crashing, not sure if that is related to this issue somehow.
I added some new users today and got them all logged in and their data transferred over. good. But then I went to this shared folder that everyone has a mapped drive too and tried to add them in the security tab of a sub folder but their accounts will not show
up when I search for them. Any account I added previously to last weekend show up, students, mine, etc.
even if I select the exact OU the accounts are located in, even if I type their whole name and domain. In AD the accounts are there.
If I log into the backup domain controller Their accounts show up there while in a folder security settings tab. They are listed in active directory on both domain controllers.
I have exhausted myself on Google search.
What the heck did I break?
Maybe I should run
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Not sure if I will lose any data doing that or what the repercussions would be..

If the DC is having USN rollback issue, we can resolve it by demote then re-promote or restore the DC using a supported method such as using System State backup to restore.

Customize Local Layout in SAP R/3 Web GUI?

We are using IC WebClient with a link to R/3 4.6c for order entry. The users want to be able to have the same control in the R/3 Web GUI that they do in the native R/3 GUI (eg. automatic tabbing at end of field). In native R/3, this is controlled via the 'Customize Local Layout' icon on the toolbar, but this icon does not exist in the Web GUI. Does anyone know if this kind of control is available with the R/3 Web GUI?

Per OSS - "Differently from SAPGUI, Web UI is built in a navigator envinronment (Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Safari...). Thus the requested functionality depends on the browser, not on any SAP setting.
To my knowledge, this feature is not available in Internet Explorer, butyou can always write a simple Java routine that does the job. I found an article that you can use to start your investigation. Please, check it here:

Why does FireFox change layout/settings during upgrades without asking ?

Just upgraded to Firefox 18 (windows 7 desktop). Why does Firefox change layouts/settings without asking the user if he wants it or not???
I am getting sick of those changes. I want to have at the google main page the options (as before) to search in all languages, or pages from a certain language or pages in a certain language (of course depening of the google address; f.i. at google.de for german languages, google.fr for french languages etc).
In the latest Firefox 17 it was working as I wanted and described before: when I visited www.google.de/firefox of www.google.fr/firefox. Now those 3 options (under the search bar) are gone and I do not want to operate by clicking on the advanced search button. Those things should be visible under the search bar again.
Also my STARTPAGE was GONE/DELETED after the update !!! Grrrrr.... Updating is OK but mozilla should not change user configured items !!!!!!!
The above described problem has nothing to do with the google website.

By the way, do Firefox and IE use the same proxy settings? You can view Firefox's here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > "Network" mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default is "Use system proxy settings".

Folder Display Settings Not Saving

Searched forums with no luck, anyone run into this problem?
I have a user who likes to set up folders in his GroupWise 2012 client (on Windows XP) to show To and From columns as the first two columns in his folder view. When he changes a folder and saves the changes in the Properties/Display/Custom Settings, everything looks fine. The next day when he gets into his client and goes to the folder he changed, the changes (adding the To/From columns) are gone. The really strange thing is they are only gone "most of the time", at other times the changes stick and do not have to be redone. User has found nothing consistent about why changes are sometimes forgotten and other times remembered.

When saving the changes, instead of taking the default name of <Folder
Custom Settings> try changing the name to something like <Folder Custom
Settings2>. While I haven't seen this with the 2012 client, I have
seen it with GW8 and earlier and usually saving the display settings
with a different name would get the changes to "stick."
Also if this is just the 2012 client and not 2012 SP1, you could try
upgrading to the SP1 client.

By default, the sub-folders created followo a across-down pattern.

Is it possible to override the default layout, so that the folders are displayed as

I created a SAP transaction iView for PO create.

I have a problem with frequent changes in report layout setting. When users trying to create a user specific layout in the window "Default" is set, out of "User specific" & "default" checkbox defaultly, so users saving the layouts. so it's overwritting on existing layout. we are ossing the old data. how to restrict end users to create new one with out changing the existing one.How to change that default check in "Default" check box to user specific defaultly. where i have to do settings for this. Hi,
This is more a training issue. The layout settings are meant so that user as per his requirement can set his own layout in reporting.
Conduct a training session and guide them how they can use there user specific layout.
This will resolve your issue.

How to Email POWL Reports / Apply Web Dynpro ALV Table Layout Settings

Hi all,
we want to be able to automatically extract POWL reports and email them to users in a batch job.
We can refresh a POWL report using FM POWL_QUERY_REFRESH, and access the raw report data using method CL_POWL_QUERY_ACCESSOR=>GET_CACHED_RESULTS.
However this merely gives us a table of raw data. No view layout (ie. Web Dynpro ALV table layout) settings have been applied, so there is no hiding or arranging of columns, row sorting, calculations or filters.
Ideally we would like to be able to specify a query and view layout. The batch job would then refresh and extract the data, and format the data according to the view layout before sending it on as an attachment in an email.
Does anyone know how to determine and apply Web Dynpro ALV table layout settings to format table data outside of the Web Dynpro environment ?

Approval Service is not listed in Folder's settings option

CM Version : 6.0.2.4.7
For the repository in question, I have activated StateManagement and Properties CM services. Even after that I do not see the option 'Approval' in Folder's Settings.
Hence I am not able to enable the approval service for a Folder. Any help is appreciated.

This should be the case...
Three steps:
- Check all prerequisities of the document mentioned above (if you have not already done so).
- If the problem persists, check error log as well as knowledge_managament log.
- If there are relevant entries, report. If not, open an OSS message.
At the moment, I think more can't be done / advised?!

How to change a folder layout set using KM api?

Hello,
I'm developing a program using KM api that creates different folders with properties, permissions, ... I want to use a different layout set depending on the folder that i am browsing, but these folders are created dinamically, so I cant set a different layouts set for each one manually (Details > Display > ...).
Does anybody know how I could do it using KM api? I mean, that every time I create a folder using KM api I should assaing dinamically the default layout set for this folder. I searched in the api and examples and I didn't find anything.
