Customization: datasource for 0SR_FIDS1(SRM)

Dear Experts,
There is no standard datasource available for SRM DSO(0SR_FIDS1).
Along with the DSO,standard infosource is also available in BI system.
Extract structure is provided in the blow link. click on datasource(left side)-->Data sources in Global spend analysis based on FI data.

Hi,
As suggested by the SAP, there are no DataSources delivered by default. The Data Source will be generated once after the special ledger is created in Source (R/3).

The following step can help you..
1. create a info source and assign the data source -
2. select data source as PC File ( give any name tech & desc)
3. create a info source structure by include all individual info objects / har. keyfig
    those are available in your file
4. you can always take the reference of the info objects from the cube/ODS as to
    make info source staructure easy
5. map the corresponding info objects in the trasfer structure
6. save and activate the info source
7. go to your info provider cube/ODS and right click - select - create update rules
    select the name of the file data source name as given above
8. map them as defult one-to-one mapping until other wise you have some require
    ment in data manipulation through update rules.
9. save and activate.
10. come to the info source - create a info package - select source as .CSV file
     and preview it before you actually load.
11. as far as date is concern in your falt file..select the entire column of the date
     then goto-format column-select 'customize' then put format as 000000 (six
     zeros ) for 0calmonth.
12. when you lookat the date at infoprovider it shows like 20070508 but
      when you execute in a query it displays its text as 08-May-2007

Customization step for classic to extended classic

Currently I have implemented classic scenario in SRM 7.0 with ECC in back-end. Now I am planing to implement extended classic scenario. In the same time we are planning to continue the classic scenario for some product category. In breif: Purchase order will be either in SRM or ECC base on product category. Please guide me let me the necessary customization setting for implementing the abover scenario.

SPRO: Business Add-Ins->Control Extended Classic Scenario (here you can control if you need PO in SRM or ERP)

DataSource for FAGLFLEXT and BSEG, or New Table in ECC6?

need to create an extractor to have all the information of FAGLFLEXT, because we need to keep the ledger information and the split of the information. However, we need to add 13 fields contained in BSEG.
Therefore we thought to reads the line items table FAGLFLEXA, and then enhace it throught BSEG table.
However, since we are using ECC6 and BI7. It is not support the creation of DataSources for FAGLFLEXA throught FAGLBW03.
Is it an option to incorporate all fields into FAGLFLEXT.
Can we creat a new table group based on FAGLFLEXT, and then adding the coding block extensions to that table -
how does new g/l and the new table group work in parallel? Which is the procedure to do it?
Documentation says we can create a new table group based on FAGLFLEXT --- its the how does it work in conjuction part...for example...the new g/l handles document splitting and one other thing georg referenced last night...will the split documents go into our new table group?
BSEG does not have the document splitter information that we need (it's incomplete data). It's missing profit centers on many items, it's missing the proper split of transactions.

Client situation: Our client is implementing ECC 6 and is using the "New-GL" features. Because of business requirements, the coding block has been extended (not insignificantly - 18 extra fields at the moment) to accommodate legal, regulatory and management reporting. The reporting solution includes standard ECC reporting (e.g. report writer, report painter reports) as well as feeds to BW (BI 7).
The Challenge: Our understanding is that adding all of the coding block extensions to the New-GL tables (ie. FAGLFLEXA and FAGLFLEXT) may lead to performance degradation in the ECC system. However, we still need to accommodate the requirement to report by the additional dimensions that are not currently included in the New-GL, so our challenge has been to find a solution that minimizes performance issues, while still allowing us to have all the necessary dimensions with which to do the required reporting.
What we would like to know: How have you handled this in similar situations?
Have you added to the New-GL tables? How many fields? Performance issues encountered?
Have you created additional table group(s) based on the New-GL and then modified that structure to have the new fields? How does the additional table group work co-incident with New-GL (e.g. does the additional table group receive document splitting information?)?
Have you created custom extractors for BW? On what basis (we understand that FAGFLEXA cannot be created as a datasource to feed BW)?

Query on components to be used for SAP SRM Installation

We have a requirement for SRM Server.. I need some help on what installation objects should I download. This is on AIX and DB2
for "EHP1 FOR SAP SRM 7.0 -> based on SAP NetWeaver 7.02"

No. If its transactions across multiple databases you should use different datasources.

Using a View as the DataSource for a Matrix

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a view as the datasource for a matrix? For example, I have created a view named 'VW1' with 4 columns (1 being ItemCode). Here is the code that tries to set this view as the datasource for a matrix:

dbDataSource = sboForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Add(tableName);

This last line of this code hangs but if I put a try around it, the GetLastError does not return anything. Is it because views cannot be used as datasources or is there something else I am missing?

You can use a view as a matrix datasource if you use UserDataSources instead of DBDataSources.

Can a web service be used as the datasource for a View Object?

Has anyone used a web service as the datasource for a View Object?
I am trying to do the same thing as "Publishing BC4J Components as a Web Service" example, except I want to recreate the View Objects on the client so that I can iterate through them and display them on a web page.
I probably have two choices:
1. Use the web service as the datasource.
2. Use a file as the datasource with no data and then populate the View Objects from the XML from the Web Service.
Please advise.

You can adapt the examples provided in the BC4J Toy Store demo for how to build a programmatically-populated view object to create a view object that fetches its data from a web service.
The methods that you need to override are the same for any kind of programmatically-populated view object.

You can not copy the standard datasource to any other source system it will not allow you to do that.
But if you want to copy you can copy it to PC FILE source system.
It will allow you to copy there.
Right click in Datasource->Copy-> Give Target datasource name -
> intarget Source system tab -
>Give Source system for File.

Reg. CIN related excise capture for a SRM PO and goods receipt in R/3.

We are on SRM 4.0 and have extended classic scenario.
For Country India Roll out, we want to capture excise manually in R/3 once an SRM Goods confirmation from an SRM PO is posted to R/3 system as a goods receipt.
We also tried manually capturing the excise for a goods receipt in R/3
created from a SRM goods confirmation BUT
"BUT in R/3 ECC system, Even if we capture the Excise manually, it is not getting offset during invoice posting."
Can you assist us in how can we do this from R/3 itself.
I mean to say if for a SRM PO we do goods confirmation in SRM and once that is replicated to R/3 system, now if we capture the excise manually in R/3 ECC system then as of now it is not getting offset during invoice posting, how to resolve this issue, request you to kindly assist and detail us on how we can successfully capture excise and do invoicing correctly for a SRM PO (Extended Classic Scenario) and SRM confirmation in R/3 system itself.

Vendor Sub range functionlity is mainly used for alternative Partner data control likes multiple currencies, purchasing data, FOB,Min order values and partners data.
In your case you have maintained different locations for a vendor using the vendor sub range. Based on the line item vice system received the locations in MIGO. Any have your order will send to single main vendor. VSR allow different purchasing and partner data controls not different vendor. Once you have chose the VSR code in PO item vice FOB locations changed.

I doubt that Oracle 7 DB is not supported. You may consider raising a SR with support.

MDM catalogs to be used for PM-SRM scenario

Hello All,
We are in a situation where we are using the SRM-MDM scenario for regular shopping carts. And also would like to leverage these MDM catalogs for purchases made in ECC Plant Maintenance "work Orders" for non-stock ECC material numbers maintained in ECC.
These material numbers in ECC will have a Manufacturing Part Nmber (MPN) in the material master data.
Since we had some difficulty connecting these SRM-MDM catalogs directly to the ECC work order we would like to bring these requisitions generated by "Work Orders" and push them to SRM. (Standard SAP)
Once these Requisitions come into SRM as SC.. the system automatically approves this SC (Which is standard SAP) but in this process we would like to know if there is a way the system can automatically make a call to MDM based on the Manufacturing Part Number (MPN) and bring in the price and the vendor details back to the SC automatically.
Currently we are using SRM 6.0 and MDM 2.0 in our landscape..
Any suggestions will be appreciated and rewarded..

Step 1. Select Source systems under Modelling in the left panel. In the right panel, right-click Source systems and select Createu2026.
Step 2. Select the FileSystem, manual meta data, data using file inte option, and then click to continue.
Step 3. Enter a name and a description for the source system, and then click to create the source system.
Now create an application component
Step 1. Select InfoSources under Modelling in the left panel. In the right panel, right-click InfoSources and select Create application componentu2026.
Step 2. Enter a name and a description for the application component, and then click to continue. (BW automatically adds a prefix of "Z" to the technical names of application components, unlike the naming system used for other BW objects.If u give the name as AC_DEMO it will be saved as ZAC_DEMO in the system.
Now create infosource
Step 1.Select InfoSources under Modelling in the left panel. Right-click the newly created Application Component , and then select Create InfoSourceu2026.
Step 2. Select the option Master data/texts/hierarchies, and then click to continue.
Step 3. Enter your infoobject name, and then click to continue.
Now you will be asked
Infosource(name) assigned to Appln component(name)?
Click continue
Now go back to workbench and see the Infoobject listed under the Application component name (under Infosource)
Right click the infoobject name and select Assign Datasource
Enter the Infoobject name as Infosource name and the source system name and continue
Now you ll get datasource assignment confirmations for Infosource_ATTR and Infosource_TEXT for master data and text.
Click yes and continue
Now you ll be taken to the Infosource(master data) change screen
Source system name will be given
Below that u need to give the datasource name u2026.._ATTR
Click Activate.
Now Click the tab transfer rules
Copy the communication str infoobject names to an excel sheet
For ex if your infoobj are IO_MATNUM and IO_MATNAME (material number and material name) copy and paste as
IO_MATNUM      IO_MATNAME
MAT001     TEA
MAT002     COFFEE
MAT003     SUGAR
GIVE YOUR DATA IN THE EXCEL. AND CLICK File Save As CSV(comma delimited) and save to ur system. Give file name as something like infosourcename_ATTR.csv
Now back to the Infosourcechange screen
Source system name will be given
Below that u need to give the datasource name u2026.._TEXT
And activate
Now Click the tab transfer rules
Copy the communication str infoobject names to an excel sheet
GIVE YOUR DATA IN THE EXCEL. AND CLICK File Save As CSV(comma delimited) and save to ur system. Give file name as something like infosourcename_TEXT.csv
Now create Infoobject to load data
Go to Infosourceu2014Appln Componentu2014InfoObju2014SourceSystemu2014rightclick->create Infopackage

Hi Ranjan,
Solution Manager is not mandatory for SRM 7 implementation.
Only thing is Solution Manager contains best pratices for Project implementation e.g AS is process , to be process, blue print etc.
It is just a guilde. All things might not be required for your project.
We did it without solution Manager except that we used it for generating installation key & for maintainance opt.
