Customization of no results found for reports

Hi All,
Is there a way we can customize the no results. Now it shows the filters as well which I do not want to show as they should be hidden
No Results
The specified criteria didn't result in any data. This is often caused by applying filters that are too restrictive or that contain incorrect values. Please check your Request Filters and try again. The filters currently being applied are shown below.
The above message is OK but filter conditions should not be visible

No data found for Report

Hi, I am new to Apex so please be clear with your answers. We use a report based on a view when I access the report in the application I receive "no data found" error. If test the query in SQL commands it works fine. If I check the view in object browser I see data. I am perplexed as to why I receive a no data found error on the front end. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your quick response! Sometimes as a tech we look for the hard answer vs the easy one. One of the binding variables(P0:PLANS) was misspelled after correcting the issue we were able to see the report.

Show "No Applicable Data Found" for Report 0SD_C01_Q22

Hi Gurus,
I just activated BI Content Report, 0SD_C01_Q22 and it's relevant InfoSource, DataSource and so on. The data from R3 were loaded into the infoCube successfully.
However, it shows "No Applicable Data Found" when I executed the query.
I have tried to create a new query based on the same InfoCube but has NO limitation parameter. However the result was the same.
Can anyone consult out?

I have tested it with a really simple report that has no selection condition. But the result is the same.
Also, I have checked the data in infoprovider with LISTCUBE but the data are definitely available.
By the way, I test it with an account hazing profiles as SAP_ALL and S_A.SYSTEM. The super user account should have enough authorization.
So my friends, anymore ideas? Pls help out....

I realize that this thread is a little old and you have probably resolved the problem already.
I had the same issue and after a couple hours of debugging, figured out what was causing the issue for me - hopefully it can save some other some time too.
The short answer (if you have not implemented the BADI):
The search is looking for agents (users) that are configured for a specific task (as Sagar mentioned the SAP standard one is TS00500118). So if you have not implemented the BADI then check that you have maintained agents on the task ot set it as a general one (transaction PFTC).
Longer answer (if you implemented the BADI):
If you have implemented the BADI then you must make sure you implement both methods that it provides. The search help instantiates the BADI via a helper class and queries which task it should be looking for agents for. If you do not have any custom workflows, then just return the SAP standard task in the "GET_TASK_ID_OF_PERFORM_INV" - same as the standard. This will then return search results - assuming you have maintained the task.

No results found after extending VO

Hi all,
I extended a VO. Added 3 fields,tables and joins. It got compiled successfully. I transferred them into $JAVA_TOP in Bin format from myclasses.
I imported the jpx using JPX IMPORTR.
It gave: Imported document : /oracle/apps/icx/por/wf/server/customizations/site/0/ReqLinesNotificationsVO
Ques 1) Shouldn't it give the VOEx?
Ques 2) Where shoud I run the command. As of now I transffered the jpx to PO-TOP and have ran the command in DB_TIER PO_TOP
java oracle.jrad.tools.xml.importer.JPXImporter $PO_TOP/XXW.jpx followed by other credentials.
Then when I went to the front end and did a transaction I got No results found for that Rn where the VO was extended.
Note: I have still not mapped the new added fields using personalization.

it's working now. The problem was with the VO query. The tables in teh original VO had _all (org specific tables) and I used without that. That was the problem.

FPN: No ESID found error while invoking BEx iviews for Reports.

We have a federated portal network [FPN] setup. We are EP 7 SP15 for both Consumer portal and BI producer portal.
The content is delivered to users via RRA Remote Role Assignment ] in consumer portal for BI portal roles from Producer bi portal.
The problem is when we are trying to access BEx iviews for Reports i get the error: Internal error No esid found.
The BEx iview for Queries are running fine but the problem is for BEx iviews for Reports in consumer portal.
All reports are running fine in producer BI portal.
Consumer portal AD UME and producer portal is ABAP UME.
Please help to fix this.

I also wanted to point out that we are not experiencing this issue in our Dev enviornment, and all content was transported to Q. Only in Q are we getting this issue.

I can't search for books or authors on my iphone 6. It says no results found every time. Is there some setting I may have wrong? I have been using my kindle app instead.

I can't search for book or authors in ibooks. When I search an author or book and click on it a message that says not results found comes up. Even if I try to look up something popular like Dracula or Twilight. Is there some setting I should have clicked? It won't find or download any books at all anymore. This started about a month ago. I see that you are having issues with your connection to the iBooks Store. Here is an article with some troubleshooting steps that will be relevant to your issue, even though the article was written for issues with the iTunes Store:

Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.

Formatting issues with reports when no results found

Hi,
I have dashboard where in I have two reports, one displays images based on the claculation of fact and targets for the current week and the other report which displays just the fact data for the previous six weeks. We are displaying the KPI labels only for the first report and placed both the reports in the same section horizontally, to make it easy for comparision.
The problem araises when there is no data found for the first report, then the KPI labels will also not be displayed.
If we display the lables for the second report also, then it could be redundant.
Both the reports shuold have a single title.
Is there any way to design such a layout!!
Any immediate help would be appreciated.

One thing you might do is this. Don't display the Title View in your reports. You can do this either by deleting the views from the Compound Layout or, within Edit Dashboard, by selecting only the view that contains the report. (Obviously, if your report has several view, you would need to choose the first route.)
Instead of the Title View, do this: In the Dashboard section which contains both reports, click on the "Rename" button. Type the name of that best illustrates both reports, check the "Display Section Heading" checkbox and click "OK."
Next, click the "Rename" button again and this time go in to the formatting section to format as required. (Note: After you check the checkbox, if you don't click "OK" right after, the check mark won't stick. So click "OK" and then go back in to do any formatting you wish.)
This method allows the user to collapse the section and still see what the section is about. This is good practice when you have several reports in one dashboard page. Even collapsing all the sections, you can see what is "inside" and expand the appropriate section.

Moreover does your X-server or vnc server on HP work fine.
In the past with HP version 11.0 there was always problem with HP x-server. just check that your x-server is runinig will ex. x-clock.

BEA-381826 suggest that there is any issue with your public key in known_host file, can you cross verify it again. Also can you check if known_host file has appropriate permissions and I am assuming it is in /OSB_DOMAIN/osb/transports/sftp folder.
Hostname,IP algorithm publickey are the hostname, ip, and public key of SFTP server.
As per troubleshooting guidelines
The Key not found for IP, host error message indicates that the known_hosts file does not contain an entry that corresponds to the specified IP-host combination. If the entry exists, then try with another algorithm key; for example, if the earlier attempt was with an RSA key, try again with a DSA key.

Query Best Practice for Reports

I am new to Apex and I am wondering what is the best practice for store your sql quries for reports. I am a believer of storing all sql behind pacakge functions or procedures. And it looks like the only options for report pages are to use a direct SQL query, or a function that returns a query as a string. Yes the function method counts as putting the code in Oracle but not really. It is still getting compiled and parsed on the Apex side. It would be nice if Apex could handle a cursor but I have read that it doesn't directly. You have to have a function that returns a cursor and then create a pipelined function that calls the cursor function. That is kind of silly. Is there some other way to do this?

Hi Jeff,
I'm not necessarily a believer in packaging queries. I'm a little more pragmatic in that I believe it may make sense in environments where you have a client environment that just expects a result set that is then manipulated by the client for the purposes of presentation, pagination etc. Apex has a different architecture in that the client is purely an HTML presentation layer (browser) and the presentation, pagination etc is formulated in the database along with the data using the Oracle web toolkit, which is a set of internal packages that produce HTML. Note that handling and manipulating ref cursors inside PL/SQL is not a joy, they were mainly designed to be passed out to external clients. (Often to shield programmers who don't or won't even try to understand relational concepts)
This means that when you create a report based on a query, the Apex engine will manipulate that base query, depending on the display requirements and pagination requirements of your report, before it submits that query to the database for execution. To get an idea of how this manipulation occurs, you can run your report in debug mode and check the actual query that is submitted to the database. If the query is presented as an already executed ref cursor, then the Apex engine can't execute in the way that it does. As you have already found out, the only way of using packaged queries returning ref cursors is by the use of a pipelined function, so that the Apex engine can treat the result as a normal query.
This is the architecture of Apex, and I suspect that re-engineering the Apex engine to handle ref cursors natively, as opposed to using a pipelining trick, would be a considerable change. I hope this at least helps to explain why ref cursors and Apex don't mix. I personally don't see the purpose of having an abstraction layer of packaged queries below an abstraction layer of an API such as Apex. SQL is a perfectly good API.

No Administrator found for the task (solution in FAQ not applicable sadly)

Hi All,
I have had to build a custom work item inbox due to complex client requirements, one of which being that all tasks are declared as "General tasks", so that all users can select and work them.
Work item execution is performed using the function module SWL_WI_DISPATCH (I've also tested using SAP_WAPI_EXECUTE_WORKITEM), which sometimes returns the error 'No administrator found for the task'.
I followed the standard instructions for this error message, refreshing the org assignments, transaction SWU_OBUF etc, and this did not help the issue.
The error seems to occur within the function module RH_WI_AGENT_EXECUTE_CHECK, however according to our configuration I can see no reason why users shouldn't be allowed to execute the work item, if the org assignment has been stable for several months, all tasks are generic, and the work item status is READY. There is no rule for determining agent beyond them being "General task"s.
Does anyone have any ideas? According to the data in SWWWIHEAD I can't see any reason why execution should be failing for these work items.

The new extended eMail notification do allow a feature, which is named "Forward by eMail" (in the general settings of SWNCONFIG). And the result is, that a work item can be executed by another user-id, who is not the actual receiver of the work item.
If you looked at report RSWNWIEX you'll find out that exactly the proposed solution is in use there, having a very usuable example already in place: (check lines 155 and following)
