Customize dimension of a document

Hello all,
I need to customize dimention of a document, for example create a document 20x20 cm or something else.
With the previous version of Pages I remember it was possible.
Is there anyone that can give me a help ?

Hi All,
I am trying to upload the translation for one of the page at responsibility level.
I am getting following warning when running the below command.

The same is working fine if the translation is for some attribute at site or function level.
Did anyone faced this kind of issue.

I am sure you would have verified the responsibility id in the target instance is 51688(may be source instance your resp id is 51688 and in target it is different).

Find out dimension of eps document

hi there,
is it possible to determine the dimension of an eps document?
after spending hours searching the net, i have just found the imagero EPSReader class which claims to be able to do so, but we are rather looking for a cost-free solution.
or are there any other possibilies? any workarounds? ideas?

I tried to display the dimensions of eps document...
if %ImageData and %%HiResBoundingBox are present I am able to find out width, height and resolution... But I dont think these two are available in all eps documents.. if they are not available how can we get those details...

Changing ppi changes pixel dimensions but not document size?

I have an image that is W=4.375 H=6.124 at 355 ppi the pixel dimensions area under Img > Image Size indicates it is W=1553 px H=2174
When I change the resolution to 72 px it is only changing the pixel dimensions and not the document size. I'm confuesed.
1. What is the difference between pixel dimensions and document size?
2. Is the document the same physical size regardless if I make it 200 ppi, 150 ppi or 72?

Let me see if I understand all of this:
- If I change the resolution the print dimension will stay the same, though what is it actually doing to the image if I increase the resolution, though it still is the same print dimension? I am guessing you can not just add pixels to a given size image and expect it to print better.
- If I change the dimensions, the resolution will change because there will be either more pixels for a smaller area or fewer pixels for a larger area, depending on how I size it.

Customization for Profit Center Document

Can you please advice what is the customization I do need to make for Activating Profit Center Document for a particular Company Code.Since One Co Code A has a Profit Center Document posted but the same is not created for another Company Code B
Both the Co Codes are in different Controlling Area.So i maintained the Controlling Area B in 3KEH but still no luck so please advice what is the customization i need to do further.

WebADI - customize the macro in document template

Hi Kenneth,
Oracle WebADI uses standard functions of Excel to execute its functionalities. You can customize that but it will have the following limitations :-
1. You wont be able to re-download the template again as you have edited the macro after downloading the template.
2. You have to ensure you are not overwriting a seed excel function being used by the Oracle code for example:-
function for change in values of a cell.
In a nutshell, the recommendation will be to avoid it. Rather than doing all this, you can just create a custom PL/SQL procedure to run before the actual upload of the data.

I have the requirement that under Sales Document types, I need to remove a Blocked status of a document type and add this type as Valid document.
I followed the below path:
SPRO-> Sales & Distribution -> Sales -> Sales Documents -> Define & Assign Reason for Blocking.
But, I could not make out where and what to do?

Customize Web-Client nterface (Documents tab)

Hi - has anybody manage to customize the Primavera web-client interface to add custom screens.
In particular, we would like to customize the 'Documents' tab and integrate Primavera with our content management system (EMC Documentum) to store and retrieve documents.
I am unable to find any decent guide on how to actually modify Primavera user interface, if such a thing is possible/supported. There is plenty of information about using the SDK/WebServices for accessing Primavera project data, but we need to go the other way - access third-party system from within Primavera.
I know we can use SharePoint or Oracle Content Management for this, but we need to use EMC Documentum.
Any tips/useful info/ideas highly appreciated,

You can't customize the interface, but you could use a custom portlet and point it to your existing document management system, or create your own site that does what you need.

Can I customize dimensions of saved video PE11?

I've been trying to do this for some time but not found a way. I often download video clips from the web and many of these are pixel dimensions 1200 x 720 (although not always, but the principle is the same). I often want to edit these to upload to my Dropbox so that friends can view them, but the various standard frame sizes for Playback to Computer or Burn to DVD don't scale down in proportion (unless I've missed the right ones).   This results in considerable distortion.
Perhaps one could crop the entire video, I don't know, I've never tried that -- wouldn't it degrade the whole thing badly?
Is there any way to downscale, say, to something like 720 x 405?   Doesn't have to that, particularly, but something to reduce the size so that people can download it quickly?

OK, so at last I've had a chance to look at this, and spent the last couple of hours finding out (or trying to get to grips with it).   I made notes as I went, and I'll just copy / paste them here, maybe with one or two corrections.
Downloading clips from the web to edit and forward to friends is a somewhat laborious process with me (and almost certainly must degrade the quality, but for most everyday purposes I don't mind so long as it's not very noticeable -- although that is *not* the case if I'm really working on something I want to look as good as possible) -- here, I'm really talking about those video clips I want to download from the web, perhaps edit a little bit, and forward to friends who missed the original.   I don't own the copyright on them and so wont be putting eg on You Tube and suchlike.
So the problem I've been having is really only about the downloads.
The 'laborious' process is that I use LiteCam t www.litecam.net/ (in my case it has /en for the UK after it)
I can record using preset fps buttons from 10 - 100 fps, but usually use 25fps, probably because that's the way my own videos come out of my Canon DSLR. But I suppose if I wanted a high quality recording, I'd use 50 or 60fps. I've not done that. (Although many of the web clips I want are in 30fps and also of course NTSC. I have to make this PAL in my output.)
There are several options under 'Video Recording' for LiteCam (one can also record Games direct from the monitor, but I'm not into that):
Microsoft MPEG-4 Video, MS Video 1, Intel (2 sub-types), Cinepak Codec by Radius (whatever that is) and so on ...

I've only been using LiteCam for a few months and as far as I know, it always* records in .avi, with which I don't think PE11 is compatible, or at least I find it gets the audio, but not the video (there was some discussion of this on the Forum a while back, I recall).   *Yes, .avi is invariable with LiteCam.
So that means I use the LiteCam facility to convert to MPEG-4, although actually now I think of it, I've often used another bit of software I have, Any Video Converter.   http://www.anvsoft.com/
This converts formats into a wide range of other formats, including for Apps, phones &c, but when I've used it, I convert to MPEG-II, and this works with PE11.
But LiteCam converts it into MP4 (I'm still not sure if MP4 is the same as MPEG-II, although I've read it up twice!)   Incidentally when I did this just now to confirm what I'm writing about, PE11 gave a pop-up message to say it was activating some component, but I didn't see what the component was. This was after importing the MP4 converted video.
The problem I often have with this is that it puts the video and audio sightly out of synch -- often unusably so. So I must find a better way, ie rather than this laborious method.
Now to the nub of the problem. Trying this just now, I recorded with LiteCam a short clip, sizing the recordable area frame to exactly cover the size of the clip on my monitor.
PE11 'Properties' tells me that the px dimensions are 956 x 552
I could actually stick with that, but suppose I want to reduce the size to make it easier for people to download it when I send it to them?
Here's an example of a clip I downloaded, PE11 tells me it's an MPEG Movie, Image Size 720 x 404, Frame Rate 29.97, Average data rate 119 KB/second
Following up your suggestion, I've had a look at the Export Settings dialog box.   I've seen it before, but never used it. Thinking about it, it's quite a revelation.
And by the way, I thought I'd see what Steve Grisetti has to say about it in his Muvipix Guide to PE11. While there I read his very useful note (p 246 - 247) on exporting JPEGs for web use or printing (as distinct from using in videos).   I did a comparision with a Freeze Frame against a JPEG made using Steve's instructions, and there's a huge difference, which I'd not really noticed before.
But I digress.
Here I must make an embarrassing confession. I did not realise that right at the side of the panel, on the far right, one can slide it down to reveal more options. Up to this moment, I thought the only ones for the 'Computer' option were Flash Video, MPEG and AVCHD. Oh dear! (But really, Adobe, why don't they put a little visible ARROW for people like me -- but perhaps there are no people like me ... Moving quickly on ...) Anyway I spent 15 minutes trying to follow Steve's directions and not getting anywhere until I re-read them for the n'th time.
And I could have saved myself endless time had I known there was a "Use for email and playback on Windows PC", ie a Windows Media option.   I really must read things more carefully. Problem with the early 21st century -- information overload, which can mean (for some of us) a tendency to skim things quickly for the bare essentials: can be a huge mistake.
I must do some more work on this, but, ATR, I think you've helped me to solve this little problem, so many thanks again.   But I'd still like a much more direct method of screengrabbing videos on the fly in a way that doesn't mean having to convert them for PE11, with the loss of quality, and above all the occasional synch problems.

Dimension of Pages document too large to display

I'm working on a large banner for a client (3 meters wide, 1.5 meters high) and Pages doesn't seem to be able to display the whole document when I choose fit page. Have I run into a limitation of the app? Is it a bug? Any workaround?

The smallest scale is 25%, which translates to 750x 375mm or roughly 2125 x 1063 pixels, viewable on larger iMacs. Works on mine in both Pages '09 and Pages 5.
What version of Pages are you using?
Have you tried scaling the banner?

Authorization to Customize Tcode FBS1 Parked Documents

We created a Z version of transaction code FBS1 reason was to activate the park document option. Problem is that we moved the new tcode into production the next step was to assign the tcode to the various single roles in accounting. however I am seeing two issues,
1- If user has access to FBS1 they can also access ZFBS1 without the tcode being added to their role. user does not have SAP ALL. And When I run a report of executable tcode by this same user new tcode does not comes up. Not sure if after I take out the access of FBS1 it will get fixed. Not sure where to look in security to see if there are any other tcodes like this, where user have access when they are assign to their role.
2- It appears that ZFBS1 behaves different when user have access to FBVO, if user has access to FBVO then ZFBS1 does not park it posts automatically.

Sol: Please check S_TCODE in the role whether it contains any value as "Z*". If not let me know.

Sol: ZFBS1 cotains the same program as FBS1 and thus checking same objects. These objects are same as checked for FBV0. Though you are restricting values in for ZFBS1, but it is providing other authorizations from the values assigned for FBV0.
Please let me know your further concerns.

UCM JSP - customize error page for document checkout?

I have written some JSP pages to integrate UCM (aka Stellent Content Server) into a custom application.
The bulk of UCM functionality is handled with idcserver.ServerBean.
If someone tries to check out a document that is already checked out, or tries to check in a document that hasn't been checked out, they are redirected from our custom application to a UCM error page.
I DO NOT want this to happen.
I would like to handle any check in or check out errors with my own custom error handling page.
I tried using the following in our JSP check out form:
<%@ page errorPage="myError.jsp" session="true" %>
However, UCM cheerfully ignores this and keeps redirecting right to its own page.
Any thoughts on how I can avoid UCM's error page and substitute my own?

Customize edit form in document library

I have a document library with several content types. There are some columns that I don't want all users to see (or edit) when they edit or upload documents, so I need to change the default edit form. For new documents I've modified the DIP, so that works
fine.
However, if I change the default edit page I lose the option to change content types. I don't mind having a different edit form for each content type (if someone can explain to me how to do it), but on upload they have to be able to choose which content
type to use.
I've currently got a copy of the default edit form where I've changed the <dataformwebpart> to <listformwebpart> so that I get the option to choose content types. But I can't figure out how to change which columns to display for each content
type.. Help?

What do you mean "I don't want all users to see (or edit) when they edit or upload documents"?
Do you mean these columns are automatically populated, which you don't want all users to see in the form page, but show them in library view?
You can consider to hide these columns for each content type from that particular library.
