Customize email body from BPM-Alerts

Hello,
I configured some monitoring for background jobs in BPM (Transaction: DSWP).
Now the emails are looking like this (obfuscated the real data):
Solution number: xxxxxxx
Solution name: xxxxxxxx
Process: xxxxxx
Process step: xxxxxxxxx
System: xxx
Monitoring type: Background Job
Job identifier: SAP_REORG_JOBSTATIST
Alert level/date/time/message:
Red 16.01.2010 00:16:09 Job SAP_REORG_JOBSTATISTIC with schedule date 15.01.2010; not yet started
My question now is, whether it's possible to change the layout of these mails.
e.g. add some custom text or remove for example the "Solution number".

it is not possible yet but with the new ST-SER release 701_2010_1. Anyone know how to customize email subject generated by Alerts from BPM

I'm generating Alerts from BPM. However, the Alerts generated this way has subject title with - Process and an id number like this 'Process 000000126930'.
I want to create custom subject line / email title.
I tried by creating and using container variables in the Alert category for the title and it did not work.
Any ideas on how to do this.

Hi Parimala,
You can use the external definition Mail strcuture (Mail.xsd) provided by SAP for XI. You can map your structure with the Mail structure where you can create any subject line and any content as well, depending upon your interface configuration.
Pls find the attached, Mail.xsd. Customize the subject, to, from etc. fields and populate the content branch element to send any message via the email.

Sending email Notifications from BPM 11.1.1.5+FP

Hi all,
We're trying to send an email notifications from our process but we need to send HTML mails, not just plain text...
Any help would be appreciated.

1. Configure the UMS Email Driver in Enterprise manager
2. onfigure the SOA Suite Workflow Notification properties
3. Restart the soa server
4. On the BPM Process, drag the mail notification from the notification category.
5. update the mail notification properties such as to address, title, and content etc.

I am having a requirement where-in I want to read the incoming email from a particular From Address and get the email body. Is there any class/function module which is designed for the same?
I know there are classes/FMs to send email but is there a one to receive?

I'm not getting email notifications from My Alerts

I have added a handful of artists to the My Alerts feature on iTunes and never get alerts about new releases. I just happened to find some new albums for artists I have in my alerts list. Why am I not getting them? My email is up to date in my iTunes account, newest iTunes version etc....

You will need to resubscribe to the threads you previously subscribed to if you want to remain subscribed. The old subscriptions were lost during the transition to the current system. You will not automatically be subscribed to a thread you create; instead, use the Subscribe link at the top of the page to subscribe.

How to customize email notifications sent by Cisco Prime.

We have been receiving email alerts for any unresponsive devices in Cisco Prime. I was able to find the option to customize the subject for such email alert under Admin-Network-Notification and Action settings, however I am not able to locate the option to change the email body.
The email body for such alerts has lot of unrequired information which I would like to remove.
Can someone provide me the options on how to get rid of such information in the email body.

To customize the e-mail subject:
Step 1 Select Admin > Network > Notification and Action Settings > Fault - Email subject customization.
The available and selected lists of the subject attributes for e-mail are displayed.
To customize the e-mail subject, you can add and remove subjects from the current e-mail subjects list. By default, following list of e-mail subject attributes are displayed in the Selected Subjects for E-Mail box.
•Event ID
•Device Name
•Time
•Severity
•Event Name
•Status
To add a subject:
a. Select the subject attribute from Available Subjects for E-Mail.
b. Click Add.
The selected subject attribute is added to the Selected Subjects for E-Mail list.
You can add a subject attribute only from the Available Subjects list to the Selected Subjects list. You cannot add a subject attribute from the Selected subject list to the Available Subject list.
To remove a subject attribute:
a. Select the subject attribute from Selected Subjects for E-Mail.
b. Click Remove.
The selected subject attribute is removed from the Selected list and added to the Available subjects for E-Mail list.
You can remove a subject attribute only from the Selected Subjects list and not from the Available Subjects list.
Step 2 Click Up or Down to rearrange the order of the selected e-mail subject attributes.
Step 3 Click Apply to save the customized e-mail subject attributes.
Note: Other than this you will not be able to customize any thing, User-defined fied option will not work.

I'm raising an alert from BPM by using Container operation and Control steps.
The below details are appearing in the Email. Is there any way to change these standard steps... ?
From:     WF-BATCH at K.local
To:         SAPSupport at k.com
Subject: Process 000000021589
Alert ID:   ##00010##
I want to change the
- Subject name with my own subject line.
- From address should be changed to it.helpdesk at k.com instead of WF-BATCH at k.com
- I checked in some of the threads, looks like there is limitation in terms of characters in the Email body(127 characters)? Is there anything I can do to extend the email body?

Recipients list is fine. I can change. How about the Sender Email address?
Ex: WF-BATCH.. Since the errors are generated from BPM, the sender userid will be always WF-BATCH.
I want to change this user id into my custom user id.. is it possible?
2. Also I enabled Dynamic Text in alert category which is used to get the dynamic text from mapping.. Hence i cannot use Short and Long texts tab in Alert Category to generate the subject line.
Hence Subject line is coming with process ID, looks like I cannot change?

Using Standard Container Variables in Email Alerts from BPM

Dear All
While creating alert categories from ALRTCATDEF we have a Long Text Tab where we can use Container Variables like SXMS_MSG_GUID ,SXMS_RULE_NAME, SXMS_ERROR_CAT , SXMS_ERROR_CODE etc create the mail contents. We can also display the message passed by the BPM by using the variable
ALERTDYNAMIC_SHORTTEXT , ALERTDYNAMIC_LONGTEXT .
In my case when I call the alert category from the BPM , the message passed by the BPM is displayed through the ALERTDYNAMIC_LONGTEXT in the alert inbox , but I am not able to utilize the other container variables (like SXMS_MSG_GUID ,SXMS_RULE_NAME, SXMS_ERROR_CAT ) for displaying the messageid ,error category etc. Using these variables for alerts invoked from BPM results in Blank Values for all the container variables.
If the alert is not invoked from BPM these variables are getting populated.
My question is is there a way by which we can utilize these variables for Alerts thrown from BPM.

BPM Alerts not sending email notifications

Hello Experts,
I've successfully configured BPM within SolMan and alerts are being generated but I'm not receiving any email notifications. In the setup of Business Process Monitoring, "Contacts" have been maintained within the Solution Directory as well as the notifications section of the monitoring type with a sender and a valid recipient address . Both yellow and red alerts are being generated but no email notifications are being sent. Thresholds have also been maintained.
Researching other threads regarding this same issue points to tcode RZ20->SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors ->All Monitoring Contexts->BPM->Activate Maintanance Function-> and assiging Central auto reaction methods to MTE Class BPMRoot Context and the other BPM_APPMON_* MTE classes. Is there something that I am missing in order to have these alerts send email notifications when the alert threshold is reached?
I also defined the new Central Auto Reaction method and maintained the parameters properly which calls FM DSWP_BPM_SEND_ALERT. Please assist as I have exhausted all options. Please provide a step by step guide to setup alert notifications if possible.

Error 500 in Email body sent by BPM Task

Hi All,
We are sending an email notification with task payload whenever a task is created by configuring Notification properties associated with a task in BPM 11g.
The emails are going fine for individual emails but when we are sending the email to a DL (Group emails) an Error 500--Internal Server
is coming in email body.. the task payload is not rendered.
What may be the reason and what is the solution?

Message in Alert from BPM

Hello
I have control step that sends Alert. The messasage contains BPM containers as &varilable&.
Alert catergory has been defined in ALRTCATDEF with Workflow type but I don't see a message from BPM in Alert Inbox.
What do I need to add into my alert category in order the message is to be displayed in Alert Inbox?

I have the same problem as Denis. I created an alert category with dynamic text. As alert classification I have set WEBFLOW (this type wasn't part of the standard classifications, so i created it). In my BPM I trigger the alert within a control step. The alert is thrown, I can see it in the alert inbox, but without description an without long text. As short text I see the name of the category and the string "(Die auslösende Anwendung hat Sie als Empfänger bestimmt)".
Can anybody help to fix my problem?
