How to Customize Error message in JXL

Hi All,
I want to customize error message in JXL. I.e. When we apply number validation to a cell and if you enter invalid data MS-Excel shows error message saying that "The value you entered is not valid". But I want to customize this message to "Data should be a decimal number". Can anyone help me how to acheive it. Thanks in Advance.

And, I found a way to achieve my requirement in a declarative way.
I just created an entity validator on EmployeeEO.
- Rule_Type: Key Exists
- Rule Definition:
- Validation Target Type: Entity Object
- Association Name : <Select Assiociation created > "EmpDeptFK"
- Failure Handling:
- Error Message: "Invalid Deparment ID {0} Entered. Please enter a valid Department ID."
- Message Token for "0": Department ID
And It fulfilled my requirement.

E-Recruitment error message :Page cannot be displayed

While testing the E rec BSP pages from SE80 I am getting the error message:
Page cannot be displayed.
What I have done is as follows:
Step 1:defined the context in table V77RCF_CONTEXT
Step 2:defined the element of container sequence in table V77RCF_CS_ITEMC by copyin the data from table V77RCF_CS_ITEM
Step3. defined the container sequence in table V77RCF_CS_SEQC and defined the element.
Step 4.defined link for start pages in table V77RCF_SP_LINKC while copying the data from table V77RCF_SP_LINK
Step 5.Define Start page groups in table V77RCF_SP_GROUPC while copying the enteries from V77RCF_SP_GROUP
Step 6;Defined Start pages in table V77RCF_SP_ASIDC while copying enteries from table V77RCF_SP_ASID
Step 8:I generated the url using the program RCF_GENERATE_URLS using Https protocol
Apart from above setting I have also made entries in the following customer tables:
T77RCF_SP_ID(C) - Startpages
T77RCF_SP_ID(C)T - Startpages texttable
T77RCF_SP_GROUP(C) - Startpage groups (the blocks with a number of links)
T77RCF_SP_GROUPT/GRPCT - Startpage groups texttable

But still I am getting the error message that the page cannot be displayed

Error message: Page Anchor not found: 188 when exporting to ePub

I have been working on exporting a book from InDesign CC 2014 to reflowable ePub format. The book is about 250 pages long with numerous photographs, all of which are anchored objects. I am now able to export a good-looking ePub file, but I keep getting just this one error message, Page Anchor not found: 188, followed by the pathname for the file. I don't see a problem at page 188, but I'm not very experienced with InDesign. I have done several searches, and I'm not sure exactly what a "page anchor" is. Can anyone help me figure this out? Can I just ignore this error. Thanks.

I had similar problems which were resolved when I anchored images only within text with styles that would not be included in the TOC, and also made sure there were no blank paragraphs (unnecessary hard returns) with a style that would be included in the TOC. Hope that helps.

Customize error message for type conversion

I try to customize the error message if the value can't be converted to double, but i keep getting the default.
I have this in my properties file
javax.faces.validator.DoubleRangeValidator.TYPE=Not a valid number.
I can change the other properties like minimum and maximum, but not type. Can someone help me figure this out?

Hi,
You are on the right track of customising the error messages, however I will have it tested and let you know the results on the JSP's. "Unknown Type of..." error occurs when the webconnector is unable to resolve the URL. This can be like, the file may not be present etc. One way is to provide the fullname of the file along with the URL and check if the app server is able to hit the page. Incase you still experience the error then we can investigate further on this by looking at the KXS and KJS log files.

Error message "Page header or footer longer than a page"

Hi
Our application call crystal report to generate/display crystal report in PDF format. We have a dev system to test this, all looking good, however when we moved to production server, the attached error message is displayed when running crystal report.
Invoking method GENERATEREPORT returned error Page Header plus Page Footer is too large for the page.
Error in File C:\DOCUME~1\SERV
IC1.LIM\LOCALS1\Temp\temp coq new xxxx.rpt:
Page header or footer longer than a page.
Same report doesnu2019t get this error message if running it from crystal report developer.
Not all crystal reports got this error, but some of reports display strange view in PDF, the content of report are reduced in a paper size like label size, not A4 size. I have checked the default printer on the server, it points to a normal window printer, not a label printer. I have checked all possible settings on production server and compared with dev server, all looks same to me
I suspect the label printing size is used somehow when the report is previewed in pdf format, not normal A4 size although I have selected a normal window printer as a default printer on the window,what else should i check?
Could you please shed some light on this?

I found the issue is from label printer that is setup on the production server. After I removed the label printer from the server, then error message is gone, all report running fine.
This label printer is not the default window printer, it is a network printer but is configured as a printer using local port on the server.
I think for some reasons, crystal report alway picks up the label printer page size, not the normla page size, I am not sure why and how crystal report do this, it should pick up the default printer, which is a normal printer.
There is no error when I run report within CR. The error happens only when I try to generate crystal report from our application.
I do have logo in page header/footer, subreports in report footer, but I don't think they cause the problem, because I can run same report without any problem in dev system.
Any idea what I should check next?

Customize Error Message Display- Worklist Application

Hi,
Is there a way to make the error display message customizable in worklist application?
Currently, when the request was successfully processed, we get "Your request was processed successfully". Is there a way to customize this? Getting input from server and update the error message.

Error message: Pages quit unexpectedly

Have tried deleting Pages and reinstalling. But it still throws up the same error message.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
          DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

Customize Error Messages Validators

I have a validator for my inputText:

I just want to show the hintMinum message when typing in the input and when press enter, but i also see two other messages like this:
Error: Hay muy pocos caracteres.
Introduzca 3 o más caracteres, no menos.-->(MessageDetailMinimum)
Por favor digite más de 3 dígitos -->(hintminum message)
The first time i use the validator i set the message:"Introduzca 3 o más caracteres, no menos". Even though i set the MessageDetailMinum in blank the validator stills gets with this message i put in it. I also want to delete the message:"Hay mys pocos caracteres". How can i customize this??

1. profileErrorMessageForEach property file can be overwritten in your module to update the customized error messages.
2. For displaying error messages beside textbox, you can follow the approach below.

The above example displays error message beside the email textbox, if the value is empty. The errorCode property is OOTB and set in the formhandler. You can also customize the errorCode property while adding a droplet exception in formhandler.

Customize Error message.

I have a tabular form which is produced using some PL/SQL. Now my problem is that I have a piece of PL/SQL in one of my packages which adds up the totals in the columns and rows and brings back an error message stating where the totals do not add up.
However when it brings back the error it keeps on saying in the error dialog box that "1 error has occured." and then the messages that my PL/SQL brings back.
Is there a way to remove the part in the error message which says the standard "1 error has occured.

You need to have a page validation that loops through the records, adds the values and then checks the result. If you set the page validation type to "Function Returning Error Text" then if there is an error return a string otherwise return NULL. Something like:

Customize Error Message in OAM

In the user creation/modification procedure, when a user tries to create/modify a user with already existing cn, OAM throws an error message, "The Operation Failed, User entry already exists". Is it possible to customize this error message to my own message. If possible, anyone pls let me know how it can be done..??

Customize Error Message: Exceeded configured maximum number of...

I realize the "Exceeded Configured Maximum..." error message results from a certain threshold being passed. But would anyone know where I would start to customize that message to add some more user-friendly information, such as "Use more specific criteria to filter the results".
I assume it is housed in java file but didn't know if any one has tried to customzie this message?

Missing Fonts Error Message-Pages 2.0.1

I created a brochure with Pages (2.0.1) - No problems. I reopened the brochure and saw an error message stating that there were "missing fonts." I have one Admin account and one User account. I installed the application under the User account and created the brochure under the User account. I have not moved or added any fonts - Only have fonts that came with the OS and that were installed by Pages. Please help! This is VERY annoying. Can not find help under OS or Pages help topics.

I had this problem a while back. Sometimes the package info gets confused and you end up with a font that doesn't exist. It tends to happen when converting files from Word but it can happen within Pages. Selecting all the document and changing the font wont correct it however there is a way to solve this:
Open script editor and enter the following script:
tell application "Pages"
tell front document
set aRef to a reference to (every character of body text whose font name is "ENTER MISSING FONT NAME")
set font name of aRef to "ENTER NEW CHOSEN FONT"
end tell
end tell
Ensure Pages is open and the document is open. Compile the script and run it. Now wait as it takes a while for the script to run and there is no indication it is running. When the script editor is done close the doc and reopen it.
Ensure that you enter the precise name of the font that Pages says is missing and the new one you want to replace it with. If it's misspelt it wont work.
Also this only works on Pages 2, not on Pages 1.
