Customize Hierarchy from Infoview

Dear all,
I've to set customize Hierarchy at report level. I already set Hierarchy at universe and select all Hierarchy objects at report level.
So all the selected Hierarchy objects are available in "Drill by" menu in a report. But i want to keep only those objects in "Drill by" menu which has some special data (like, Country not equal NULL). So i must take decision dynamically that which objects should be in "Drill by" list after analyzing data.
So is it possible to take decision from InfoView/Report level that which would be my Hierarchy? Or is it possible to overwrite the Hierarchy(set at Universe level) at report level after analyzing data?

Hi,
please check if the flow you created is BI 7 or BI 3.x you can see this by look for a small square behind the datasource name.
Since you are able to look in PSA i expect it to be BI7 flow which (no square in above mentioned place) means you need to check your infopackage to see if it is loading to PSA only or also to infoobject. If its loading only to PSA you either need to create a DTP and run that aswell or change the setting in the IP

Can not schedule from InfoView

Hi,
I have a newly installed BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 with SP2 installation and I have loaded my first Crystal report into a folder for testing. This is not the first installation of this type I have done and I followed a set of install instructions that have been used for other successful installations.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I attempt to schedule my Crystal report from within InfoView it correctly shows me the schedule options page, but does not allow me to move off the 'Instance Title' tab. When the schedule page is first shown there is an error icon in my browser (IE8) in the bottom left hand corner which when clicked on shows 11 or 12 'Object expected' error messages for schedule.aspx.
If I try to schedule the report through the CMC i don't get this problem.
I can view the report without any problems from InfoView.
Looking at the event log on the server I only get a few warnings relating to a missing yui folder (same as on some of my other installations and I have a call open with SAP on this subject).
The installation is entirely using IIS and no TomCat or java interface was selected during the install process.
Any ideas what is going wrong on this server that's stopping me from scheduling reports?
If no ideas, then any suggestions as to where I can look to get more information on this error?

Looking at the www log at the time I request a schedule I can see that there are a number of 404.0 errors recorded. These relate to the following requested files:
/PlatformServices/js/callback.js.ashx
/PlatformServices/js/utils.js.ashx
/PlatformServices/js/_iframehelper.js.ashx
/PlatformServices/js/_singlePageActionSetSingleActionUtils.js.ashx
The /PlatformServices/js/ fodler exists and the configured user has permissions to access and read from that folder. The xxx.js files exist in the folder, but they do not exist as xxx.js.ashx extensions. I think that the ashx extension is an indication of a script but Idon't know if this is how it should be called. Is it likely that my problem is caused because of this naming convention?

Error while loading the Hierarchy from R/3 to BI.

Dear all ,
I am trying to load a hierarchy FROM R/3 to BI . When I am executing the Info package its showing an below Error.
Hierarchy object is u201CWBS elementu201D
The level of the node ID 01494179 does not suit the lev. of the higher lev. node
The level of the node ID 01494178 does not suit the lev. of the higher lev. node
The level of the node ID 01493822 does not suit the lev. of the higher lev. node
Could you please let me know what would be the reasonu2026u2026?

looks like there is some inconsistency in hierchy data you are tring to laod.
Check hierarchy in r3 if its ok, if yes try deleting complete hierarchy and reloading it.
You may also chose to adjust it manually

Numbering nodes when loading hierarchy from a flat file.

Hi All,
I want to load a hierarchy from a flat file. When we number the nodes, do they have to be in a sequence or can I give them any number I want? I want to make the GL account number as the node number since it makes it easy to generate the node number that way. The way I see it, the important thing is the parent node number; so this approach should be fine. Please correct me if I am wrong.

   You need to have a running sequence numbers for Node Id field in the flat file. The file structure is as

The Parentid will calculated by the system automatically.
when you prepare you file csv please ensure that you have 8 characters for the Node ID " 00000003" other wise you will get error.
And if you want to add GL Account number to your hierarchy then you need to add GL A/c Number as external characteristics in hierarchy and add it to your flat file .

Hello Anne,
we are facing the same issue. We have a customer hierarchy in ECC that has been structured as a general hierarchy, rather than the normal KNVH. We want to map that somehow to CRM.
Initial solution outlines:
1) create a custom program that converts the general hierarchy to a normal customer hierarchy in KNVH, then use the standard program to download that to CRM account hierarchies
2) create a custom program to map the general hierarchy to CRM (to some structure)
Can you please tell how you covered your need?

Logon failed error when launching Web Intelligence from InfoView

After changing the Web Intelligence preferences in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 Java InfoView to launch the desktop or rich client option, I get a "logon failed" error message. However, when I launch Web Intelligence Rich Client from 'Start > Programs >...' directly, the same logon information is successful. The logon is set to use Enterprise authentication which is the same logon information used to launch InfoView and Web Intelligence.
Why does the logon fail when I launch Web Intelligence from InfoView?

I deleted the report completely and rebuilt it from scratch, and also added names for the data table and data set generated within the project and finally, success!

Unable to Export report from InfoView

Hello, I have a remote user who is trying to export a report from InfoView to an Excel file and when she does she gets the following error..
Your request was refused because you do not have the right 'Right To Download' on report 'frs://Input/a_005/014/000/3589/83453a9daf64d2.rpt'. Please ask your system administrator to grant you this right.
I suspect it may be a problem with the activex plugin but i'm not sure. Does anyone know where I can find the plugin so I can ask her to reinstall or does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hi Rod,
You might want to check the users rights in the CMC first.
There are a couple of rights which might be denied to the user
'Download files associated with the report'
'Export the report's data'
To check these you will need to look at the user security for the folder in which the report is located. The rights are assigned under content, Crystal Reports.

As you would for any other infoobject
Activate the business content hierarchy datasources on R3 for cost centre and profit centre
Go into BW - replicate the metadata
Then just connect via transformations or transfer rules the datasources to yoru infosources or master data objects
Create an infopackage per hierarchy!!!!! - press the button available hirachies from OLTP - click the one you want on the left - fire it off
Then repeat new infopackages for all hierachies

Dynamic parameter selection from infoview not storing the sql password

We are having the problem of dynamic parameter selection from infoview not storing the sql password as it does for the actual report. We are using Crystal Reports XI Release 2 version 11.5.3.438 (Not sure of SP level, asked in separate thread).
To be more specific.
We have created a report that dynamically populates the parameters of the report by pulling the records from the Informix sql database and allowing selection from there.
In the Central Management Console for the report object we have set as follows:
Process - Database:
Use original database logon information from the report - the sql username and pw etc
Use same database logon as when report is run
Process - Parameters
In selecting a default selection there is the option to put in the sql password, however, this does not stick and clears after update.
As such the end result is that every time this report is run from infoview and a user chooses a parameter (there are 5), crystal goes through some timeout for about a minute or so and then requests the sql password, if a user then selects the next parameter, the same timeout and password dialog appears.
We need the crystal report to handle to the sql password for fetching the parameters as well as for the database section of running the report, however, the parameters insists on the end user always putting the password in.
This is 100% replicatable on our system.
Any way that we can fix this?
Will an update fix this issue? If so could you please advise which one?

How do I create a BW hierarchy from an R/3 profit center hierarchy?

I am trying to create a profit center hierarchy in BW using a profit center hierarchy from R/3. I know there is a way to do this, I just can't find the way.

Hi Aaron,
you have to activate the specific datasource 0PROFIT_CTR_0106_HIER in R/3 transaction RSA5. After doing this, replicate your source system in BW anf then assign the datasource to 0PROFIT_CTR infosource, create an infopackage and finally load your hierarchies !

How to kill/stop a report from InfoView/CMC ?

I have CRS2008 v1 environment running reports against Sybase database. Users run reports from Infoview. I would like to know what the best way to kill or stop a report that has been triggered from Infoview? Kill the spid from sybase or is there a way to kill it from Crystal?

I want to kill reports run by users if they affect the system performance due to large volume. In that case the stored procedure that the report uses to select data might run for longer periods and I want to able to kill that process. So the question is which is better ?
1. Kill the spid for that report stored procedure in Sybase
2. Stop/delete the report instance from crystal if it is possible.

Issue in uploading Hierarchy from BW to SEM BCS

We are getting the following error while trying to upload the hierarchy from BW to SEM BCS.FYI , Hierarchy is loaded into BW but it still throws an error.
Error is : No hierarchies for InfoObject 0PROFIT_CTR available in BW.

I am loading from BW (0PROFIT_CTR) hierarchy to SEM BCS.
I am loading thru "Load from data stream".
Following are the steps :
1.Selected data type "Consolidation unit"
2.Selected characteristic "Profit Center"
3.In the settings tab,
a) I also maintained "source data basis" with the Infoobject cataloag & I used the same.
b) selected "0profit_ctr" infoobject.
c)also selected the check boxes "load master data" & "load hierarchy".
4)In the mapping tab, selected all the necessary fields and mapped correctly.
5)In the selection tab,maintained controlling area = 1000 .
6)after the steps 1to 5, executed the method.
It gives an error "No hierarchy exists in BW for profit center ".
Can you tell me, do we need to do any other steps before executing the method.

Error while viewing CR from Infoview

Hi,
I have developed Crystal Reports using OLE DB connection. I have published the report on BOE server.
But when I try to view it from InfoView, it is displaying error message like u2018Entered information in either incomplete or incorrectu2019
I believe I have entered the correct information.
I am using Crystal Reports 12.2.0.290, MS SQL Server 2008 and Business Objects XI 3.1 version.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Actually I am using Add Command feature where I have written a query. I have added the Command to the Repository and set the Data source Location to the Repository.
Now when I run the report, it is displaying the Parameter screen. I enter the parameter and when I click on Ok, it displays error message like "Failed to open connection."
I am running the Crystal Report from the Info view portal.
No, I am running CR Designer from a different computer.

Data changing when saved as excel from infoview

I have a report which has got average calculated using the formuls sum(revenue)/(ColumnNumber()-2).
When this report is saved as excel to my computer from infoview, the sum is displayed in the place of average. But the average is displayed fine in infoview.
Could anyone help on this?

As far as I know links don't work properly in Excel exproted report.

How to load hierarchy from file into InfoObject with compounding Attr & LN

I have created an InfoObject called YCOSTC0 which has a compounding attribute 0CO_AREA. and Text is Lanugage dependent, hence the key is YCOSTC0, 0CO_AREA and LANGUAGE, now when i load hierarchy from flat file as mentioned below, it creates duplicate blank rows in master data table, becuase the flat file contains only the YCOSTC0 Info Object and this data gets loaded into 0CO_AREA column in master data table which is the first column. how can i load hierarchies from flat file into an InfoObject that has a compounding attribute and Language dependent. please provide me a sample file structure with data.
