Well, if you really meant modification by saying "customization" (European semantics) - then, there is no special Enhancement guide as it is available for E-Sales, but the concepts are pretty much same (at 10,000 foot level). Both are STRUTS based, Java Web applications with SAP CRM as the backend system. The comparison stops there. However, that is the only document we have. So, here is the link to the "customization" guide.

Customize appraisal notifications from the Self-Service HRMS

I have a requirement to customize some appraisal notifications from the Self-Service HRMS. I copied the HRSSA workflow, renamed it and changes some of the messages. I then went to AMS (Approval Management System) and changed the mandatory item WORKFLOW_ITEM_TYPE to have value of my customized workflow, but it still uses the seeded workflow HRSSA when I ran through the HR Appraisal process. Can anyone advises what more needed to be done?

We downloaded the .gif file from $OA_MEDIA for gross salary self service form and we override the image and uploaded into same position. We logged out login the application. But its not showing any effect. Its showing older Oracle logo only.

Steps to Customize the Self-Service HRMS Gross Salary form(urgent)

Hi,
We are using 11i(11.5.10.2) with oracle 9i as database. We Implemented HRMS(AE) localization. When we open the Gross salary Self-Service form on the top right its coming oracle Logo. Instead of that i want to change into Client Logo.
As per my knowledge i installed J Developer and configured to our test instance to customize that form. can any body guide me from end to end process to customize this form.

Self Service Time Customization

Hi Friends
I have a requirement to include an option button / listbox to show where the consultant worked. That is either onsite or offsite in Self Service Time Application. We are in 11.5.10 version.
We dont have any descriptive flexfields in this HTML based application.
How can i do this. ? Please suggest me

OTL Timecard selfservice pages are not true OA pages and are based out of LDT layout files. There are wrapper classes over OA beans and a custom rendering engine to render the timecards. There are still some references to AK and hence the corresponding changes. We can directly use LOV OA regions on 11.5.10+ instances along with the LDT changes, but I still won't suggest that.

I am developing a customized Self-Service application. And I have configured the Application Properties as given in help.sap.com.
But when I try to deploy and run the application, I get this error.
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

The issue was with the ERP version. The client was using mySAP ERP 2004. I assumed that it was ERP 2005.

Customize Self Service Page in OIM 11g

Hi All,
How can i add some functionality of Profile tab in to another custom tab like(i have to add resource tab(Self Service Page-->My Profile-->Resource) in to a custom tab) because i have to hide Profile tab and add Proxy and Resource tab of Profile tab in to another custom tab so that user can see only these two tab instead of whole profile tab .
please give me any idea how to do it.

OIM 11g UDF of UI type Lookup not reflected in Self Service Profile Page

I created one UDF of type lookup in admin console. published the sandbox. Then I logged in self service console and created a new sandbox. I wanted to make udf visible in self service page so I started customizing the create user page. But the newly created udf is not visible under userVO.
Steps to re-produce the issue:
1. create a new sandbox in admin console. create a new udf of type lookup. publish the sandbox.
2. login to self service console. create a new sandbox and start customizing. go to create user page. click on customize. select source and select the panel to add the udf. select data component catalog, select userVO. Under this userVO, my newly created UDF is not visible.I cant find my new lookup type udf. I can see the udf created in usr table in DB.
Please let me know if anybody have faced similar issue and its resolution.

can you check whether remaining custom UDFs are appearing?
Is it a problem just with Lookup UDF type?
Also, this sandboxes are very error prone. So you need to make sure only 1 person is working during 1 specific work with sandbox

ISE Self Service Portal Customisation.

I have been hacking around with the Self Service portal on the ISE. I have it working nearly as I wish it too, having edited self_registration.html to my satisfaction.
The issue is, I get details in the OUPUT of the self_registration_result.html screen pop that I do not wish to display. The screen outputs all the details previously input, even though I only want to show the username and password. The contents of self_registration_result.html do not even reference the other variables. Specifically, I wish to exclude the email address.
See below. No mention of the outputting of the email address.

Self registered guest sponsor approval flow
ISE 1.2 - needs some customization and coding to make the user process nicer
Custom self registration page:
Use the first and last name to create the account as the email address will be that of the sponsor
Use one of the optional fields (titled as email address of the requester)
Normal email address required would be that of the sponsor (person receiving the email with creds to forward along),
The success page would state that the credentials are being sent to the sponsor and once approved will receive via email back from them.
Its self registration with approval and the flow is through email (no status page on sponsor portal)
Make sure restrict the email domain that can be entered to that of the company only (otherwise there is a break down as guest can put their own). See this guide entry.
Additionally, you can modify the email template to send the correct data to employees:
Dear Sponsor,
A guest with email address $OPTION1$ requested an account
If you authorize this request, username is $USERNAME$ and password is $PASSWORD$
Risk is the sponsor knows the credentials of their approved guest

Here is the flow that was done for a turkish bank with partner middleware - Ozgur Guler (ozgguler) SE
1) Guest connects to guestWLAN and opens a browser. He is redirected to ISE guest portal.
2)      When he clicks “Self registration” , he goes to a middleware’s web service that is just looking like ISE portal. Our partner NetSec developed this middleware.
3)      He enters his name,surname, year of birth,national ID number, mobile number, sponsor’s mail, etc.
4)      The middleware firstly checks the validity of the guest from a government web service. It checks name, surname, year of birth and ID number validity.
5)      If they are valid, the middleware sends an email to sponsor to get an approval.
6)      If sponsor clicks the link in mail, it is approved and middleware creates a username on ISE using our current API (they will shift to Guest API when it is available)
7)      After creating the user, the middleware sends a command to SMS gateway to send credentials to the guest.
8)      Guest logins.

Using Webservices in the Self Service UI

WHat is the best practice to show new fields in Self Service UI pages with out changing existing UI elements? We created new proxies for Siebel WSDL and want to show new fields in the UI. We don't want to create new view object and link with AM to show in UI. We are prefering to update the existing VO and use related AM module to fecth the new fields to display in the customization .
Is it the right approach for customization?

Thats is what exactly should be done to display new fileds, rather then creating new view objects, add an attribute in existing view object and do bindings of new UI fields to newly created attribute in view object.

Time estimation for HR Self Service implementation

Hi All,
What will be the best time estimation for implementing Self Service HR with moderate number of customizations (Generally custom workflow or workflow customizations) with 2 CRPs, one UAT and all AIM documentation.
We have HRMS and Payroll already in place since more than an year.

Realistically it would take an experienced application person who could do the personalizations about 3 months in an existing implementation. This would include testing, training etc. Perhaps 2 or 3 weeks for an experienced person to customize the various workflows.
If you have never done this application before, triple the time as you figure things out.

SAP IdM - Self Service password reset

Hi All
Has anyone configured the Self-service password reset option yet?
I have a question that the documentation doesn't answer. We plan on using the IdM on our SAP landscape which would involve at least 9 seperate systems, meaning the Dev, QA and Prod systems for BW 3.5, CRM 2007 & ECC.
My question is if we have a user that has access to all these systems, but only needs to reset their password in 1 of them. How does the Self-service password reset option know which system that user's id is locked in or would it be resetting the password in every one of the systems?

That's right. Users would have to repeat the same process if they want to change the password for say 2 systems out of the 9. Its a quick and easy way to get it up and running without much customization.
But if you want to eliminate this repetition, the ideal way would be to customize the UI (some thig like this which comes as part of RDS)

Payslip does not appear on the Self Service Page

Hi all ,
I would like the system to display the Payslip of an employee on his self-service page so that when the user logs in he or she can view his/her Payslip.
When i click on the Function Payslip it says ERROR on Page.
I have Run International HRMS Global.And as the organisation is in Africa it doesn't have any specific localisation.
So can anyone assist me on how can i customize the JSP page so that the Payslip appears on the Self-Service page of an employee.

Self Service applications are developed based on the Oracle Framework withe JDeveloper.

Please advise of the Self-Service Account registration UIs details (code name, where, ets) or direct technical documentation.
Is that the workflow UMX Registration Workflow (UMXREGWF)?
