Customize standard PDF layout for PO Report

Hi,
I need to customize the layout of standard PO report in R12 instance.
Navigation Path:Purchasing Vision Operations (USA) -->Buyer Work Center -->Orders
Under view : My open orders,click on a specific PO number.
At the detail level,on the top right side Actions seleceted as 'View PDF' and then click on GO button.
The PO report output opened in a PDF format.Here I need to do some modifications for the customization report.
So could you please tell me where do I start from.The changes that I did should be shown in the PDF PO report Output.
One more query is : How can I indentify this PDF PO report output belongs to which concurrent program?

Your buyer work center form basically points to standard PO functionality and bring all info in 1 page for buyer. Please check PO Output for Communication process for details.
One more query is : How can I indentify this PDF PO report output belongs to which concurrent program?
Ans : I believe "PO Output for Communication" ( it's a request in POXPOPDF module) which generate the PDF, its a Java concurrent program.*

It is very strange that I cannot get the layout connected to the database as I have followed the same steps for all layouts. It all works fine until I get to the invoice stage and then I cannot make the connection.
(I dont need to worry about the sales invoice as this was provided at installation point by our vendor)

As standard there is no option to save workshop papers in PDF format.
However, have a look at [OSS Note 208271|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=208271] (Sending e-mail from notification print control) which works for orders too.
You can also misuse the SAPScript program to call a SmartForm

Standard Crystal Layout for General Ledger Report, Development Limitations

Hi Guys,
I have experienced some development limitations in the standard crystal general ledger layout for "General Ledger report" in SAP.
So if we are running standard "General Ledger" report we have a lot of columns but we unable to get these columns in the standard crystal layout because PLD_Items (XML source file) doesn't contain all of them. For example, I need to add a "Project" into existing standard crystal layout and I can't do that.
Do you have guys, any ideas how to change PLD_Items source or it's impossible?
Any help will be appreciated.

Default Layout for a report running in background

Dear Friends,
I have created a layout for report ME2L and set as default layout (for every user)....
Foreground execution picked the DEFAULT layout but when am trying to execute the same report in background, default layout is not picked but the STANDARD layout is shown in the spool
Could you please suggest me how can i use same report layout for foreground as well as background

If you wnat to download excel in back ground
You have to download in application server only.
EX:
DATA : v_filepath(80)     VALUE '/data/sapdata/inc/error_log/pme_br/',

OPEN DATASET v_filepath FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE.
    IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
     LOOP AT i_errors_bat.
     CONCATENATE i_errors_bat-plant c_coma
                             i_errors_bat-zzvendor c_coma
                       INTO v_string.
        TRANSFER v_string TO v_filepath.
      ENDLOOP.
   CLOSE DATASET v_filepath.
Note : you can download in presentation server also.
but it requires lot of authorizations and have to use
FTP commands.
Reason is Apllication server in back ground has to
recognize the from which system request came.
Better go for OPEN DATA sets.
Don't forget to reward if useful.....

Editing new crystal layouts for financial reports in 8.8

After upgrading to 8.8 PL10 I decided to investigate the new financial layouts for Crystal. When I opened the layout however I couldn't make much sense of how it is structured or even functions, it seems to reference a PLD table that I couldn't find under tables, views, or stored procedures. Any advice on how to better manipulate this report would be great.
They are all structured similarly so lets use the new balance sheet as a reference.

Here are my findings ...
- The new Crystal Reports Layouts base deeply on the "old" PLD Layouts.
- The table "PLD__ITEMS" is an XML-file with the data of the report.
- If you want to show same additional fields of PLD__ITEMS on the report, it is not enough to drag the field on the report. You also have to format the field and add additional info to the CSS-Class like: FileName="OINV";FieldNum="CardName";
The workflow I used to edit the new CR Layouts:
1. Edit the old PLD Layout as needed
2. Use the Crystal Reports Converter to get a CR from the PLD [Download|/docs/DOC-8768#section16 [original link is broken]]
(The PDF included gives some basic hints about the structure of the CR Layout)
3. Edit the SAP CR with the informations of the converted CR (from PLD)

How to use standard pdf forms for HR

We just upgraded our system from 4.6C to ECC6.0. We just did technical upgrade. IF we want to use SAP provided pdf forms for any HR applications like w-2's or something else.. what do we need.. Can we use them with out ADS ? and without a Java server?

Hello,
you need a Java server and need ADS configured. To do this is not easy for me as a application developer, but it is easy for the basis guys. Ask one to make this ready for you. Esitmated time is like 3-5 days. ADS is free for printing (replaces SAPscripts and Smartforms by Adobe forms).
For HR forms I recommend create your custom ones, because you can develop it very quickly and it will meet any specific requirements of your business. This way you will spare much time and psychic sanity searching and changing SAP HR standard (my 2 yrs experience).

Now I have to find out a list of sap standard pdf formular which is already there for module SD and MM like for purchase order, bill of delivery, shipping document etc.
I don't know how can I find it. Can someone tell me that?

Do you mean "sap script / smartform" used by standard modules ?
Try the transaction NACE.
Proide the application ..e.g. V1 for Sales, V3 for Billing and click the "output types".
Select the output type.. e.g "AN00" for quotation and click "processing routines" .
You will get the standard forms and the print program.

PDF Template for XML Report

We are trying to create a PDF Template for an XML Publisher Report using Adobe Acrobat Profession Version. The PDF Template works fine for one employee but when the start and end body tags are inserted in the template, the concurrent process to submit this reports completes in warning.

I think this is do which how i am creating the PDF Template. When i am not inserting the repearting group tootips then the PDF Template works abosoultey fine for one employee

Is there any SAP standard B1 layouts created in Crystal Reports (invoice, sales order, etc) ?
PLD sucks so it will be wonderfull if SAP could deploy standard layouts in Crystal formart.

I am attempting to create a Global Layout for the "Export Embargo Report for BP" .
However, while attempting to save the same , the "user-specific" checkbox is turned on and grayed out.

However, even if I save the layout as a default one ( Default checkbox set) , it will be applicable only for my id.. I am looking to create a layout, which everyone will be able to access the layout as well..

Global ALV Layouts for Costing report

For T code S_P99_41000111 ie Analyse / compare material cost estimate , I want to create a global ALV layout .
When I am trying to create the layout option for user specific layout comes with tick greyed out .System does not allow to remove the tick so that I can create global layout .
With this option I cannot create a Global layout .
Can anybody help me with this so that I can create global layout .
I checked with security team & they gave me SAP_ALL authrisation but still it does not work .
Is it that SAP has allowed only user specific layouts for this T code S_P99_41000111 ie Analyse / compare material cost estimate .
Or is this authorisation issue .

Have you already tried configuration transaction OKN0? There is a
field called 'shared' in Layout Visibility. Do an F1 over this field for more info.

Chinese Character in PDF format for Oracle Reports 11g

Hello Everyone,
Currently we have a Report that need to be display chinese character in PDF format.
We followed the steps specified in the "Oralce Fusion Middleware Publishing Reports to the Web with Oracle Reports Services"
documentation but things doesn't work. We also installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 and Asian Font Pack 9 on the server side
and even on the client/user/development side and followed the steps in the documentation, but no effect at all. Or we even
tried "Arial Unicode MS", same thing no effect.
For sure, we may miss something during PDF aliasing or PDF subsetting setup.
Anyone out there who has the same experience and able to resolve the issue that currently using the Oralce Fusion Middleware Reports 11g?
Doesn't matter if it does not related to chinese character, as long as it relates to this issue like japanese or arabic characters in PDF.
If its ok, kindly provide the steps how you do it.

I am now facing exactly the same problem as user449955 (Eric's). Dear Eric, how about your situation? If you have resolved this problem, may I ask for your solution?
In my case, using either font aliasing or font subsetting doesn't work at all (displaying "garbage" characters instead of Chinese characters). The setting in my uifont.ali is as follows:
If using font aliasing:
[PDF]
.....ZHT16HKSCS = "MSungStd-Light-Acro"
If using font subsetting (the REPORTS_PATH already includes "C:\Windows\Fonts"):
[PDF:Subset]
"Courier New" = "mingliu.ttc,2"
For both cases, the report server's NLS_LANG already set to "TRADITIONAL CHINESE_HONG KONG.ZHT16HKSCS" (I am in fact located at Hong Kong). For font aliasing, the client side already has Asian Adobe Reader with Asian font pack installed.
By the way, I noticed that the WebLogic EM is configuring/updating the uifont.ali file at "<instance home>\config\FRComponent\frcommon\tools\common" directory, but the Oracle Reports 11g's documentation sometimes advise to refer to another uifont.ali file located at "<instance home>\config\FRComponent\frcommon\guicommon\tk\admin" directory. Which one of the uifont.ali files is the one used by the Oracle Reporting Service?
My report server's platform is Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit) and the Reports version is 11.1.1.3.

Conditional pdf Output for a report

Hi, depending on the value for one particular filed in my XML, I need to generate the pdf output.
For eg.. If Reqd = 'N', I don't want the XML publisher to generate the pdf output else if the value is 'Y', it should generate the output.
In my current implmenetation, The pdf report is getting generated for all cases.. i need to put the above mentioned check to restrict it .
If you have an idea on how to acheive it, please let me know.

Hi,
The first thing you'll need to do is to create a form field before any content in your rtf file.
The form field shall contains the following code in the Add help text:
<?if:REQD='N'?>Restricted content..<?end if?>
<?if:REQD='Y'?>The next form field shall be placed in the bottom of your file, containing:
