Customize standard report using BI Publisher.

Hi,
There is one standard concurrent program 'Send Separate Remittance Advices’ whose executable type is 'Java Concurrent program'.
I want to customize the standard report and implement in BI Publisher tool that allows specific output formats to be designed.
How to do this using BI publisher tool?
If some new query or fields required for custom report then how to add the query or fields as the standard program executable type is 'Java Concurrent program'.
Please help me out in this.

Hi,
I am working on Send Separate Remittance Advice program in R12.
As per our requirement we need to add some new field in Send Separate Remittance Advice program.
So I have extended the XML in 'iby_fd_extract_ext_pub' package.
The extended XML is working fine if I'll run the Send Separate Remittance Advice program automatically through payment process request.
If Send Separate Remittance Advice program run manually by selecting Payment Instruction Id and Remittance Advice format then whatever extension I have done to add new field is not appearing in XML.
Please suggest me how to resolve this issue.

Excel Output for Standard Reports using XML Publisher

Hi All,
Customer wants to get Excel Output for the existing Standard/Custom Reports using XML Publisher. I followed the following procedure.
1. Changed the output to XML for Concurrent program ( Trial Balance - Detail )
2. Used the Existing seeded Template
3. Ran the Report using EXCEL as the output.
When I clicked on View Output, I am not able to see the Excel output. I am seeing the HTML tags in the output window. Verified that Viewer Options existed for Excel as follows:
File Format=Excel, Mime Type=application/vnd.ms-excel.
When I ran the report with PDF output. I can see the PDF output.
Ran the HTML output with new Viewer Option ( File Format=HTML, Mime Type=application/vnd.ms-excel) then I can see the output in Browser in the Excel format. I did this test after going through the Metalink Note: Note:316752.1
My question is.. Do I need always choose the HTML ouput in the options window to trigger the Viewer option for HTML. Customer may not like this idea. He would like to choose the Excel Output and see the output in Excel format either in the Browser or Microsoft Excel.
Can someone in this situation before help me out.

Questions rephrase:
1. Is the output is same for HTML and Excel options ?
2. Why the output is viewable with HTML option and not with Excel option ?
Customer has XML Publisher Version 5.0.1 and in the process of applying 5.6.1

Moving standard reports to XML Publisher

Customer wants to use XML Publisher features for the Standard reports. He would like to attach custom templates for the PL/SQL standard reports. If I understand correctly we can get XML output for reports written in Oracle Reports(OR) by setting format as XML.
I assume we can't do the same for reports written in PL/SQL report. What is the best and faster way to get the XML output for the PL/SQL report.
Pl. Advise.

The only thing I can tell you is to change your PL/SQL to output XML tags instead of (I'm assuming) text. Which will not be the easiest of things espcially when you have to nest your tags.
We have only used XMLP on standard Oracle Reports. Good Luck.

Not getting Euro Symbol in PDF Report using XML Publisher

Hi,
We have developed an Oracle Report from Report Builder 6i and also a Template in RTF Format.
We are using XML Publisher to display our XML Output in PDF Format to Users..
There is a Field called Comments on Customer Transaction Form, where user can enter any characters and that we are querying in Report and displaying on the PDF Output.
Currently, the user entered a Euro Character on the comments section and that was not visible to user on PDF Report and replaced by a Question Mark as below:
"3% price reduction ?89.91, 20% marine"
When i am Querying to the Database, i am able to see the Euro Symbol, but when i checked the XML generated on the Unix Box for the Report. I found as below:
"3% price reduction \342\202\25489.91, 20% marine"
So, the Euro Symbol on the database is replaced by " \342\202\254" in the XML Output and ? in the PDF Outbut.
Please help ASAP.

How to see the transaction value of sub-contracting for particular period?
In MBLB we can see the over all stock value at vendor side. If I refer it in MB51 (For particular period movement type as 541 and Specila stock as u201Cou201D it shows the local currency value is zero....)

How to submit "active users" standard report using shell scripting

Hi Bhaskar,
You can achieve this by shell scripting either by scripting via CONCSUB utility (invoked from OS) or you can use the FND_SUBMIT package (through PL/SQL package), and in the script itself you can create the outputs or any hardcode messages to a file, and then mail the output to your desired mail address.
If you use mail or mailx command using the OS utility then you can even send mail to external users which should not necessarily be a registered EBS users.
Google, Forum Search and metalink will provide you loads of articles on how to use CONCSUB and FND_SUBMIT packages.

How to create a brand new report using xml publisher(BI Publisher)

Hello Friends,
I worked on Oracle apps Bi Publisher earlier and used to customize the oracle reports(run the concurrent program to get the xml output ) and then use the xml output in the rtf document to get the bi publisher report. But now I'm working on Oracle Retail and I dont have Report Builder or the apps environment.
I have to develop a BI publisher report with the rtf document I downloaded the plug in for the word so that it can access the BI Publisher Enterprise...
Please let me know if we can generate xml out put using this BI Publisher Enterprise... if so let me know how
your timely response would do a world of good to me

Thank you very much for the reply but I'm not into OBIEE... I want the required query to be processed and the output to be shown in xml layout to load into RTF document. The rest I can manage.. but please let me know how to get the .xml output with out using the report builder or the apps environment(concurrent prg submission)..

Update Column on The Database After Printing a Report Using BI Publisher

I need to update a flag on the database to say that a report has been printed. As the report is generated from the branch, I can't work out when and where to run my update process.
Any help would be appreciated.

Seems to be an issue of the RTF file containing reserved characters used in the XML file used to submit to Bi Publisher from APEX..

PDF Report Using XML Publisher

Is there anyway to only print a field on the last page of a PDF report I know I can use
<?start@last-page:body?> <?end body?> in an RFT report but I don't see anything in the documentation for pdf's to have one field just print on the last page....
For example i have a purchase order report that I copied for a tif file converted it to a pdf and put the place holders on it, but when the po goes to two pages the total is on both. I would like just to see the total on the last page. I'm using pdf's because these templates are already done and all I have to do is put the place holders on them.
Is this possible with a pdf or only rtf's or is this issue resolved in the new release of xml publisher I'm currently using 5.6.1.

We do not have such support for the PDF templates nor immediate plans to add this and other RTF functionality, sorry.
You could continue to use the PDF as preprinted stationary or even scan the PDF and use it as a watermark image on an RTF template.

Emailing SAP standard report using output device ZPDF1

I have two questions regarding the ability to email a standard SAP report.
The user community has been using the action box in tran QM02 to create a corrective action (8D) report. The action box triggers FM QM06_FM_TASK_REQUEST_8DREPORT and QM06_REQUEST_8D_REPORT_STEP2. This process not only creates the report but creates a task in the notification that the report has been generated. The process pops up the PRINT options box to choose various setting including output device. They will then print the report, scan this hardcopy report and email it to the vendor.
We recently showed them a more streamlined process to emailing the report. When the PRINT popup appears, they fill in the output device with ZPDF1 and hit enter. This brings in an email address line that can be filled with the vendors email. By specifying the ZPDF1 output device, the report is generated as a PDF attachment and sent along to the vendor via email.
The two questions I have are:
1. Is there any way to bring over the print parameters needed for the popup screen and eliminate this screen from appearing?
The subject line on the email is populated with the system and spool number even if the title line is filled in on the print popup. Also, the email body has is created with generic text.
2. How can the email subject and body information be changed?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to email a standard SAP report to an external email address(not A SAP User) ie through MS Outlook directly from the transaction report without saving the report. My requirement is to shedule reports and email automatically without user intervention. The reports I'm refering to is any report for ex. ME2L that do not have message determination functions.

Copy package to customize standard report

Hi all,
I have a standard tcode that displays an ALV. I need to add fields to the ALV. My research suggests that the package contains no reference to user exits...and the included BAdI has no change parameters that will allow me to add code to effect the standard ALV display. So...I believe I will need to create an entirely new implementation of this tcode in order to display my additional fields. Does this mean that I will need to copy the package in which the function group for this tcode resides to the customer namespace...where I can make changes to the code and screen to include my fields? Maybe I should be asking what is the smallest peice of code I need to redefine in the customer namespace in order to make the necessary changes? Also...what is the easiest way to copy the necessary code to the customer namespace?

Yes u need to include those function groups.
Copying a module program can be done through download option on ur menu bar of se51.Download it to ur PC. Then u can upload the same to ur custom program.

1>change the setting in table properties to fit table cell as per contents.
2>or create a table and inside that create one more inner table and add your fields.

How to expand layout in standard report GLRTBD.rdf

I customize standard report GLRTBD.rdf . I want to expand layout for add new 6 columns .
when run report in concurrent I got error

I would guess that you have increased the report width beyond the number of characters specified by the print style in the application. If the report started as 'landscape', then try using 'landwide'.
