Customize SUP Reboot countdown time for a particular collection of computers

SCCM 2007 SP2 R3.  We deploy to a clinical environment, and while many workstations can be updated and rebooted at any time (generally our maintenance windows run from 1800 - 0600 and we have a 60-minute reboot countdown set at the Site Server on the
agent) we have a special subset of wireless computers on roll-around medicine carts that need to be treated differently, including a 120-minute countdown.
IS there a way to set the reboot countdown for SUP for the computers in these collections to a different time than the default, or, any way to do this outside of the Site Server controlling things via the agent?
Thanks.

First, note that there is no reboot countdown specific to just updates; there is just a single reboot countdown for any reboot initiated by ConfigMgr.
I don't remember when they added it (R2 I think), but you can override this value on a collection by collection basis. Simply open the properties dialog of the desired collection and it's on one of the tabs (sorry, don't have a 2007 console in front of me
to tell you the exact place).

  • Best way to implement a countdown timer for a turn based LCCS game

    Hello,
I am trying to build a turn based game and sketching out the high level map, so I can focus my efforts towards the direction I should be digging.
One thing I have not seen much in the sample apps is how a turn based game is best handled.
For example, a countdown timer. Should it be a shared property? Or a Baton which is supposed to manage workflows and has a timeout property?
Or, should I forget those two, and time this on the server, although if it would become popular keeping track of all the times in the rooms would cost an arm and leg. Would love to hear some best practices on this.

    good idea.
Which one or all of them?

  • How to caluculate total transaction time for a particular service in OSB?

    Hi All,
We are using osb 11g in our project. As a part of performance testing we need to caluculate the total time taken for one transaction i.e at the time of invocation of that particular service till completion of that service. Also We need to caluculate the total time taken in intermediatory service callout if at all it is been used.Is there any out of box functionality provided by osb for caluculating the total time taken for each transaction?
Since we are using routing and service callouts in our message, log action will not help us.
Any pointers on the same would be of great help.
    Regards,
    Roopa Marella

You can turn on monitoring for OSB proxy services. This out of the box gives you average execution time for the proxy service.

  • Countdown timer for Captivate 5

Hey! I'm trying to find two types of countdown timers. One that would display during a slide and the other that can span a few slides (i.e. you have 5 minutes to do the questions on these 3 slides). Anyone know of any widgets like this? I saw the following timer, but it seems to be for Captivate 4 - http://forums.adobe.com/click.jspa?searchID=5036774&objectType=2&objectID=2505616
I guess for the first timer, I could simply have the user look at the countdown timer at the bottom of the screen....
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hello,
I'm preparing a blog post on the default widgets that come with CP5, but lack of time... Hope to make it this week.
Anyway there is an interesting widget 'Timer' included. You can set a maximum, let it count up or count down, put it in analog or digital mode etc.
If you put the widget on a master slide the counter will restart for each slide. If you put it on a slide and set it to display for the rest of the project, it will continue timing. As you can hide any object on a later slide using an action or an advanced action, this is the way to go if you want a timer for a sequence of slides. I blogged about Hiding objects, here is the link:
    Playing Hide-and-Seek
You can also create a custom timer by using the system variable cpInfoElapsedTimeMS. Tried to explain that workflow in another blog post (was for a Quiz, but is also possible for any other slide):

  • Countdown Timer for Fileserv pauses when viewing other tabs, resumes when returned to tab. Is there any way to make the timer keep going?

Hi, when I use Fileserv to download files, it has a countdown timer like many file-hosting services. However if I go view other tabs while the timer is going, it gets paused until I come back to the tab and then it resumes.
For example, I download a file and the timer starts from 30 seconds, at the 25 second mark I view a different tab (lets say to check my email), and after about 40 seconds or so I come back to the Fileserv tab and it's just counting down from 25 seconds.
This didn't happen before when I was on 3.6.
Is there anyway to keep the timer going? As 30 seconds is precious enough to check an email or blog while I wait.

Maybe it keeps working if you tear off that tab and open it in its own window.

  • How to find the Response time for a particular Transaction

    Hello Experts,
Am implementing a BAdI to achieve some customer enhancement for XD01 Transaction . I need to confirm to customer that after the implementation and before implementation what is the response time of the system
    Response time BEFORE BAdI Implementation
    Response time AFTER BAdI Implementation
    Where can i get this.
    Help me in this regard
    Best Regards
    SRiNi

    Hello,
Within STAD, enter the time range that the user was executing the transaction within as well as the user name. The time field indicates the time when the transaction would have ended. STAD adds some extra time on using your time interval. Depending on how long the transaction ran, you can set the length you want it to display. This means that if it is set to 10, STAD will display statistical records from transactions that ended within that 10 minute period.
The selection screen also gives you a few options for display mode.
    - Show all statistic records, sorted by star
This shows you all of the transaction steps, but they are not grouped in any way.
-Show all records, grouped by business transaction
This shows the transaction steps grouped by transaction ID (shown in the record as Trans. ID). The times are not cumulative. They are the times for each individual step.
    -Show Business Transaction Tots
This shows the transaction steps grouped by transaction ID. However, instead of just listing them you can drill from the top level down. The top level will show you the overall response time, and as you drill down, you can get to the overall response time.
Note that you also need to add the user into the selection criteria. Everything else you can leave alone in this case.
Once you have the records displayed, you can double click them to get a detailed record. This will show you the following:
    - Breakdown of response time (wait for work process, processing time, load time, generating time, roll time, DB time, enqueue time). This makes STAD a great place to start for performance analysis as you will then know whether you will need to look at SQL, processing, or any other component of response time first.
    - Stats on the data selected within the execution
    - Memory utilization of the transaction
    - RFCs executed (including the calling time and remote execution time - very useful with performance analysis of interfaces)
    - Much more.
As this chain of comments has previously indicated, you are best off using STAD if you want an accurate indication of response time. The ST12 (combines SE30 ABAP trace and ST05 SQL trace) trace times are less accurate that the values you get from ST12. I am not discounting the value of ST12 by any means. This is a very powerful tool to help you tune your transactions.
I hope this information is helpful!

  • INSANELY SUPER SLOW conversion times for MP4 to Quicktime Movie..HELP!!!!!!

    Hi folks...
    I am frustrated.
I am a student in a Film Editing class.
I have an assignment where I have to take a classic film and create a movie trailer for it using the original film and editing in FinalCut Pro.
I started off by using Handbrake to change the original DVD of the film into an MPEG-4. This took about 3 hours, which was long....but Handbrake did a very good job and the conversion was completed.
So, I have a high quality MPEG-4 of the movie.
However, as many people know, you cannot import an MPEG-4 file into FinalCut.
You have to first convert the MPEG-4 to a Quicktime Movie (a.k.a. "mov file")
HERE IS WHERE THE PROBLEM HAS STARTED
I have been trying for almost two weeks to convert one movie- the 1979 movie "Alien"- over from MPEG-4 to Quicktime.mov, as I keep running into problems.
Right now, at home, my computer (a PowerMac G4) is converting the file using MPEG Streamclips...
At the current rate it is going (I timed it and used a calculator)...it will take approximately 80 HOURS (!!!!) for MPEG Streamclips to convert this film from MPEG-4 to Quicktime MOV.
I literally started the conversion at 8 o clock last night. I went to sleep. This morning I was getting ready to go to my job. The file was still only 10% COMPLETE...(THIS IS INSANE)...
I got upset with this, as my professor in the editing class says he may dock me points for a late assignment.
So, I PURCHASED Quicktime Pro for Windows.
I have downloaded it onto this PC I am using.
In almost 2 hours, it has only gone from "8% completed" to "9% completed"... there is no way this will be done in any less than 48 hours. NOTE- I am not using a 3rd party, free, unpredictable sortware...I am using the official Quicktime 7 PRO that I bought straight from APPLE....and it is THIS SLOW.
This is absolutely crazy. IS THIS NORMAL? People running their computers 24 hours a day for 3 to 4 DAYS to convert a film from MPEG-4 to Quicktime Movie?
What can I possibly do to make this go faster? I was afraid I was going to crash this PC (the fan has been running loudly on high non-stop since I started this...I know this will take more than 8 hours at this rate, so I shut it off)
What are tips/shortcuts that anyone can give to help with this.
I dont think I should have to go to the United States Government to the Pentagon (or to Steve Jobs's house!) to get a computer with enough RAM and computing power to change an MP4 to a Quicktime movie.
I have even used the newest and most powerful G5 computers here at the university, running OS 10.5 with Quicktime Pro as the converter....and still seen extremely slow conversions (as in, it will take 48 hours of continuous computing to complete this)
Is this normal? Does everyone actually do this when they need to convert a film?
Or, are there shortcuts, slight drops in quality, or special shortcuts I can take?? What do KNOWEDGEABLE people do to convert an MPEG-4 file to a Quicktime Movie?
3-4 hours is long, but reasonable.... 80 HOURS IS INSANE......
.....Please HELP out a struggling film student!!! Thanks and God Bless

I restarted the conversion, only this time I am seeking to convert the MEPG-4 over to "Apple DV/DVC PRO- NTSC format"
An instructor here at the school gave that as a suggestion...
Now, at the current rate of THIS conversion, it will STILL TAKE about 40 hours of continuous processing to convert this film. THe computer will need to run 24 hours a day for almost 2 days to convert this.
The instructor told me he thinks the ludicrous time frames needed have something to do with the fact that I am converting this film from MPEG-4. He thinks that this could be what is causing it to be this slow.
I am just not used to this type of thing....I have never used a computer to do ANYTHING that takes 40 to 80 hours to complete.
I think that director Ridley Scott likely filmed the actual movie itself much faster than this conversion is taking (!!!)

  • Question about countdown timer for final cut 5.1

I know someone just asked for one in fce but is there one for 5.1. I need to count down 30 mins. for one thing and 30 sec for another. is there a good template? thanks in advance.

Seems to me you could put a timecode generator filter in a slug over your video, then use a luma key to super it... then run it backwards ie.. -100% speed. You can crop it too so you don't have to see the frames go by, just seconds and minutes...

  • Super long render times for easy stuff.

    Hi there,
I'm new to the Final Cut Express HD (3.51) world and it seems like rendering takes unusually long.
I have the horsepower to handle it (new MacBook Pro 15 inch with 2GB RAM and LaCie external FW800 drive), but it just really bogs down when I change any of the parameters of the effects I have going on (feathered crop, motion, motion blur, etc.). And, this IS only a slideshow of pictures I'm working on here.
Anyway, any advice or help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

you can also try reducing you resolution settings to 50% in your timeline settings, while you're working on your moves/pans. Although, not as pretty, this will definitely quicken the pace. Depending on how familiar you are with the images, you can reduce even more, (33-25%). Once you feel like you've nailed your Ken Burns, kick the reso. back up to 100%, render, and take a look.

  • UCCX - Can I get a report on hold time for one call

Hello, is it possible to report on the hold time for one particular call? We have a customer claiming they were on hold far longer than the agent claims. We are running UCCX 8.5, with CUCM 8.6.
    Thanks,

  • Easiest way to create a countdown timer

I need to make a countdown timer for a wedding webpage that I'm, but having trouble finding a good code for it. Anyone know a simple way to do this? don't need anything real complicated, just simple numbers that count down will work

    Hi,
You can download the files to any location on your computer. Then open dreamweaver, open the HTML page within the downloaded files. Open in code + design view. Go back to the downloaded file outside dreamweaver. Copy the css and java script files to the respective website root folders on your computer. Open the index.html or any html page where you want the counter to appear. Now, the first html page you opened in dreamweaver which was from the downloaded file, check how the css and java script files are placed on the html page. do the same in your html page. then check how the counter information is placed inside the <body></body> tags.
Save your work. launch the offline page on the browser and see if the counter works.
    All the best.

    c) The compiled SWF file version of this Application's blueprint. (file: timer_module.swf).
What i need to confirm is: ........................................................ see the next post of mine. (for Problems  need to be Resolved)

    Problems to Resolve:
Problem#1) - Countdown Timer to the designated Date for Live-Broadcast-Event yet to take place.
    Problem#2) - Detect End of Live Stream on FLVPlayback with FLVPlayback.isLive = true;
    Problem#1 Description:
I need to pinpoint the Logical TimeSync Exception, i am still unable to figure out. That is I'm using a webservice in my Application to Synchronize the Time with the actual ET (eastern time) with accomodation of auto-adjustment for EDT GMT-4 (eastern daylight time) & EST GMT-5 (eastern standard time), times. I am using the zipcode: "10012" to pass it to the Web Service in urlRequest object, to retrieve the Current ET eastern time according to EDT & EST time settings for Manhattan/Brooklyn areas or others within  New York, NY 10012.
Currently the Web Service is returning accurate date/time based on local EDT GMT-4 daylight time.
Is there some defined set of dates for EDT & EST times for New York region that I can check for to ensure the correct Dates/Times for Eastern Time in New York area ??? I am using NY zipcodes because i am sure to get correct ET values.
The Major Problem Part: is I need to correct the time by 2 seconds or approx. 2 secs, some millisecs.
When I retrieve the Time Value from WebService, it lags behind for 2 seconds as compared to DateObj i create using computer's local time, on my Windows XP Service Pack 2 with Automatic Updates turned-on. And I'm sure about my Windows will be having latest updates for Time Management already installed. I also added the 2 secs. to the TimeSync(ed) Date to make correction to this Date obj.
I call my custom fucntion addSeconds(dateObj:Date, secs:int) to add 2 seconds to the Date by Converting Seconds to Milliseconds.
Please comb through the as code in files attached and Help Me Out !!!
    Problem#2 Description:
Secondly I need to Detect the End of Stream state while using FLVPlayback component, an rtmp:// live Stream from FLASH MEDIA SERVER.
I need to Play a YuMe Post-Roll Ad when Steam Finishes/Ends.
Live Broadcast Stream Event starts every night on Wednesdays & Saturdays exactly  at 10:59 PM EDT GMT-4.
Live Events only Streams/Broadcasts the stream for 50secs. exactly. When [playback stopped] it plays a PostRoll Ad and after the CountdownTimer again comes back to life. The Next upcoming Event is calculated & the Countdown begins until Next Event's time/date is reached.
Here is the  code on the frame 1 on the MainTimeline: (rest of the params like source, volume, skinAutoHide are Set using Property Inspector for FLVPlayback instance on Stage)
//myStream instance of FLVPlayback is on the Stage
    myStream.isLive = true;// Frame 1 Actions in the FLA
    myStream.addEventListener(VideoEvent.COMPLETE, onEndOfStream);
