Customize the load order of symbols

Hey everyone!
I have a question that after search the forum could not find an answer to. So I decided to make a new post
I am working on a rather large edge animation, and so far it all looks and renders real nice. What it is is a web banner with a pretty cool background, and part of the background my friend took into after effects for me and added some animation to it. Then he rendered it out as a jpeg sequence and I imported the sequence as a symbol. I then used the time line to hide and show each image according to the after effects frame rate so in the broswer it looks like an "animated" jpeg But it is really just being cycled by the "hide" and "show" element functions.
This effect looks very nice, and doesn't take too long to load, however one problem I do have is that when a user loads the banner the website will first load the images before loading the background. Which isn't a big deal for fast connections, but for slow connections it takes roughtly 8 to 10 seconds to load the images and then the background loads behind them.
So my question is there any way to change the order which the symbols load? I want to make it so that the background loads first and then the symbol holding the jpeg sequence loads infront of it. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Thank you so much for any help!

Oh, I also wanted to add that I am aware that edge animate uses the $(document).ready(function() to delay the loading of certain events. However that seems to render the code as soon as a symbol is recognized by the broser, instead of after all images (the background and other small elements) are loaded.
Do anyone know of anything equivelant to the "$(window).load(function()" that will work in edge animate? Thanks for your help!

Hi.
Im looking a way for customize the load of the incidents choice menus (Support Group, Impact, Urgency...) immediate (ON CLICK).
Ej1: Select a classification category for the incident and load the support group associated to this category immediate or filter only the support groups associated to the classification category immediate . (ON EVENT CLICK IN
THE CHOICE MENU classification category)
Ej2: Select a support group and filter only the users to asign (Assign to...) from this support group.
What tool i can use?
What is the most easy way?
Thanks.

Ok. The idea is not to use pop-ups. I want to filter only the support group for printers in the "dropdown-combobox" - "Support Group" when i select "printers"classification category for example.
Its possible? Why you say that is hard to develop in #C ? ?
Im reading that you wrote this
i don't want to understate what you're taking on here.
Custom controls are HARD development. this is not the fluffy "configuration" that you get editing XML and doing powershell. These
are the real deal.
you're going to need more then a small amount of C# and .Net knowledge, and you're going to have to know enough of the SDK to pull your "options" class back to populate this list. ISTRONGLY recommend
you get someone familiar with C#, XAML and the SCSM SDK to architect this.
:S AAAAAAAAA!!

• Dashboard Builder - sequencing the load order of content linked swfs?

Hi,
I don't think this is possible but wanted to throw it out there and see if anybody has some cunning tips on this subject...
We have an InfoView Dashboard that houses 5 Xcelsius modules (swfs). There is a Header Sidebar (swf) that initialises and passes parms to 4 chart modules (swfs) using content linking. Everything works fine and as the selections in the header change, new parms are sent to the swfs which in turn change correctly.
The issue we have is that the business would like everything to initialise with a starting view that contains data. This is not currently done because we cannot guarantee the order that the swfs load in and the 4 chart modules are dependant on the header. The user has to press refresh at the start to trigger the experience once the header has fully loaded.
I'm going to play around with it and will report back with my findings but if anybody has a technique for ensuring child modules are loaded automatically on load AFTER the parent module has gotten its data back and passed the content linked parms, please let me know. Or if there is a way to order (or daisychain) the loading of modules please share this.
Cheers,
Lee

Hi Tracy thanks for your replies. I found somebody to help me on getacoder.com - this code works perfectly.
The flex code:
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
public function FromSwf1(value:String):void
swfLoader.source = value;
public function FromSwf2(value:String):void
swfTeacher.source = value;
]]>
</mx:Script>
The AS3 code:
var flexApp = root.parent.parent['parentApplication'];
btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, CallFlexFunction);
//stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, reportKeyDown);
function CallFlexFunction(e:MouseEvent) {
flexApp.FromSwf1("assets/ninos/alphabet.swf");
btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, CallFlexFunction2);
//stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, reportKeyDown);
function CallFlexFunction2(e:MouseEvent) {
flexApp.FromSwf2("assets/ninos/clase_de_ninos.swf");

• Can the load order of subforms be changed?

I have a form with two subforms. Subform A is a datasheet which has a Form_Current event which is suppose to call a subroutine in the main form, which in turn tries to change a control in Subform B.
However, on startup, Subform B has not loaded and an error occurs ("You entered an expression that has an invalid reference to the property Form/Report").
Is there a way that I can force Subform B to load before Subform A?
b.hata

Not that I know of. Trying to change this default behavior is a recipe for disaster.
You COULD have an error handler in that function that ignores the specific error because not there yet. Or you could re-think the whole thing and perhaps trigger it from the main form.
On rare occasion, and I am reluctant to even mention it, I would tick a 1 msec timer and upon Form_Timer do my thing. This event is pretty much guaranteed to happen AFTER everything is loaded and is settling down.
-Tom. Microsoft Access MVP
I have had situations in the past where things were working fine and then after some changes, I would get errors similar to my current database development problem. Somehow the order of subform loading would change. There must be something in
Access that determines the order in which subforms (and parent form) gets loaded. I can't imagine it should matter to Access what the order would be. I was hoping there was some way I could change it.
re: error handlers... I typically don't like to do much in error handlers. I much prefer to prevent errors from happening in the first place, such as setting an "Initialization Flag" during Form_Open and testing it in "Form_Current".
re: timer... I wouldn't want to use Form_Timer as it is not full proof.

• Controlling the load order of swfs in a HTML document

Hi all I have a document containing multiple swfs. Is there
anyway I can control which swf loads first etc. Obvisouly it would
start from which ever one is higher in the HTML document.
However I would like to control what loads first, also can
this be done with the images in the document?
Any help is much appreciated.

In your web.xml, under the servlet tag, make A.jsp be loaded the first, at your web app 's startup:
<jsp-file>A.jsp</jsp-file>
<load-on-startup>0</load-on-startup>
...

• Why did Apple OS loose the ability to adjust load order of login items

In OS X.3.9 I was able to adjust the load order of log in items.
I can't do this in OS X.4.11. I would like to adjust two items Mozy and Yahoo! Widgets so that they load last. Although all my log in items including them load they hesitate while Mozy and Yahoo widgets load. I would like to make Yahoo widgets load very last and Mozy next to last.

Another approach which might work would be to delete some, most, or all of your current set of login items and replace them with a single Automator workflow, one set up to open individual applications in a predetermined order.
The workflow would be comprised solely of separate *Launch Application* actions (from Automator's Finder library) and might look like this:
1) *Launch Application* -- click the popup button and select the first application you'd like to open.
2) *Launch Application* -- select the next application you'd like to open.
3) *Launch Application* -- 3rd app.
4) *Launch Application* -- etc, etc, until you reach the last application, which could be Yahoo! Widgets.
From Automator's File menu select Save As > File Format: Application, and add the saved Automator applet to your login items.
Good luck.

• Customize Internal Sales Order workflow to interface to AR

Hi,
I would like to generate AR transactions for our internal sales orders created from internal requisitions. I tried by adding a ship-bill-workflow, but the interface-to-AR activity does not get started. This gives me the impression that the internal order ignores the workflow that I have defined for this transaction type, and uses something else instead.
I am wondering now how could I customize the internal order workflow? Has anyone ever done that? Which workflow shall we customize to get what we need? Or has anyone any other ideas?
Thanks in advance,
David.

Hi David,
Assuming you are using Order Organizer did you check which work is being invoked at the Order Line Level from Tools -> Workflow Status at Line level.
Thanks.

• SWF Load order.

Hello all,
I have a group of FC outputs that I have used to create a virtual tour of my client's showroom here:
electronic-lifestyle.com
But the SWF files I have linked in the FXP are loading from back to front. The last Page is loading first and the first loads last creating some issues. I have one more pass I need to maker to fix some glitches with the vertical scroll bar and several other points but I need to know if I can adjust the order in which the SWF files load into the page. I would prefer they load when called for but if that is not possible I would like to load from the first page to the last.
On an associated thought, is it possible to create a progress bar in FC or Flash that will give the viewer some feed back on the SWF files loading in. Right now the area is blank until they arrive.
I have a feeling that this level of control is something achieved in Flash Builder, not in FC. That is fine, I am planning on importing the file into FB to enable deep linking anyway but since there is no round trip function I figured I would get all of the FC work finished first, then go into FB and make whatever changes need to happen there.
It is starting to seem silly that the two programs were separated to begin with. It seems a natural evolution that Catalyst and Builder be joined into the same application sometime in the near future. Once the round trip issue is taken care of, why not just work toward combining the two apps?
Anyway, if someone could give me a pointer on the load order issue that would be wonderful.
Thanks,
Brett

• Not allowed to move load order of Control panels in System Preferences Tige

I post here because System refuses to let me post in Tiger forum depite my being a forum member since purchasing my G4-500 new just a few months after coming out.
The problem is associated with my PowerBook17" bought new March a year ago. I currently am running 10.4.6 Tiger.
On my G4-500 using Panther 3.9 I am allowed to drag and drop the load order of extension and control panel in System > Accounts > Startup items, at will.
If I try the same thing on my PowerBook 17" It want let me Drag or if I do get it appear to drag what it does instead is remove from the list.
Suggestions?

How do I mark one portion of my question as being answered ( the part so named in the subject line.) and one part as not part about not being able to get into sub category so far as adding a question.
You can use the Helpful buttons without using Solved. Solved will result in your thread being marked as answered, Helpful won't. It is possible to mark a question answered without marking any posts as helpful or solved. You would do this if you found the solution somewhere other that the thread with the question. It is good form to post what the solution is so that others can benefit. You can go back & "unmark" a question as answered, but I'm not sure if there is a time limit from the time you originally marked it answered.

• Java Load Order

Hi All,
We are trying to override existing OOTB method through our custom component but system is calling the OOTB method only. Below are the ways we tried to call our custom component method, request you to advice us where we are making mistake.
Problem statement:
There is a method public void abc() in class SomeHandler. This is OOTB class provided by Oracle. This is getting used in service XYZ with action as 3:abc::4:null
We created a custom service handler CustomSomeHandler and overwritten this method. We also increased the load order of this custom service handler to 200.
We tried below approaches, but nothing is working.
1) Approach 1
public class CustomSomeHandler extends ServiceHandler {
public void abc(){
2) Approach 2
public class CustomSomeHandler extends SomeHandler{
public void abc(){
}

When you define a service handler, there is no loadOrder... there is searchOrder. Therefore, you need to set it a number that is lower than the method you're trying to override.
Also, make sure you're merging your configuration table to the ServiceHandlers table...

• Parent-Child Apps and Classloading...Wrong load order?

Ah, everyone's favourite two oracle topics slammed into one. I've been using Oracle's parent-child application deployment for some time, to reasonable success in Oracle App Server 9.0.4. Though screwing about with the classloaders in this way usually fills me with dread, the benefits of developing child apps in isolation from the parent are excellent.
In general I have always deployed in the following way:
server.xml
<application name="msip-app" path="../applications/msip-app.ear" parent="default" start="true" />
<application name="msip-services" path="../applications/msip-services.ear" parent="msip-app" start="true" />
default-web-site.xml
<web-app application="msip-app" name="msip-web" load-on-startup="true" root="/msip" />
<web-app application="msip-services" name="msip-services" load-on-startup="true" root="/msip-ws" />
orion-application.xml (parent app)
<library path="./msip-web/WEB-INF/classes" />
<library path="./msip-web/WEB-INF/lib" />
(Note: this generic approach has always worked...)
Now I am trying to upgrade to oc4j 10.1.3.x, and I seem to be trapped in configuration hell. OC4J now appears to load the child application first, which inevitably screws up the classloader for the parent app. Surely this doesn't make any sense, as the parent app is the dependency and should be started first?!
I haven't discovered any way to control the load order for apps in the config files; the only workaround is to set the load-on-startup for the child app to "false". This is fine, until I redeploy through Oracle EM, which switches load-on-startup back to true. Again, there doesn't seem to be any way in deployment to control this parameter!
Why in the heck would oc4j have changed it's load priority for parent child apps? Is there any way to force load order through config? Am I just crazy and no one else has seen this?
Help.

Thanks for the reply. Gave that a look, but unfortunately, that link concerns a problem at a lower level than the one I've encountered. A classloading problem alerted me to what I believe is a bigger issue, namely that oc4j appear to be launching my child app before the parent app, and this consistently screws up the initialisation phases for both ear files. This appears to be an explicit decision in the Oracle app loader about which war file (parent or child) to launch first, but for the life of me, I can't find the offending code by decompiling oc4j.
If it turns out that this intentional, surely this must be a mistake? The parent app is the dependency and must be loaded first! or I missing something big...

• Load order in wls 7 sp4

Hi,
I have a strange problem with the load order in wls 7.0 sp4. I have 2 ear files

I have one war file in each of the ear files. I set the load order of ear1 to

Alright:
So I wrote up a simple small isolated reproducible test case.

if
you shutdown the server gracefully we flush the writes to the config.xml.
So after you manually added the values in config.xml you still are not
seeing the load order being honored?
So:
ear1 LoadOrder=1000
ear2 LoadOrder=100
You want ear2 to be loaded first and then ear1 to be loaded second?
Can you attach your config.xml and your portion of weblogic log that

• Load order overwrite impossible and ORA-01790

Hi,
I'm using Oracle 11g Rel. 1 EE and I have some problems with a mapping in OWB. I mapped my customer dimension (SCD type 2) with the corresponding tables. The first problem is that I can't overwrite the load order for this dimension.
I've set up the customer dimension with following levels: customer, city, state, country, region and I also configured the foreign keys. The load order is changing every time I do an inbound synchronization for this dimension. In the manual it is written that the order is based on the foreign key relations but it is not in the correct order. When I try to change the loading order within the mapping and save the mapping, the settings will be resetted after I closed the mapping window. Why is the loading order changing all the time, although the dimension has not changed? And why can't I overwrite the loading order in the mapping, is there any restriction for this setting?
My second problem is that I get the error: ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression. In the sql code it seems that the problem is my attribute "Birthyear". The source table delivers an integer value for age. The dimension stores the birthyear as char(4). Therefore I used an expression to convert the age into the correct year as char(4), but I still get the error message. I assume that the compiler gives me the correct line number where the problem occurs and it is always where Birthyear occurs. Did anybody experience a similar problem and knows a solution for this?
Greetings,
Joerg

The post Was truncated... here is the rest of the story:
And what is worst: I can not drop the table because I receive an ORA-00600 !
I can not even drop the USER, I still receive ORA-00600.
I would really appreciate any help. All I want is to drop the user and clean
up my database.
Best Regards,

• Control load order of third-party menulets / menu extras at startup

Does anyone know how to control or adjust the load order of third-party menulets / menu extras at startup? I am using the latest update to Tiger.

There are two types of third-party menulets: those that use Apple's sanctioned "NSStatusItem" (which is not as full featured as Apple's menulets) and those that use the reversed-engineered (and unpublished) "NSMenuExtra" which is exactly what Apple's menulets use. The method for arranging these in your menubar depend on the type:
1) Apple and "NSMenuExtra" menulets: hold down the command key (and keep it down) and you can click and drag these in the order your like.
2) "NSStatusItem" menulets: these are added to left side of the the other menulets in the order they are launched. If these applications are in your "Login Items" then OS X launches these simultaneously, which means those that launched "quicker" will end up towards the right, and others will end up towards the left. The only real solution to controlling this order is to control the launch order by writing an AppleScript for each one that puts in an artificial delay before launch. Then, use these AppleScripts as your Login Items instead.
