Customize the workspace buttons?

Is there a way to customize the workspace buttons? There are only a few buttons there currently, and a lot of wasted space. The workspace bar used to have a variations button but that has been removed in this version. There are other commands I would like to add to it as well. Is there a way to customize this? I tried control, left, and right clicking on a blank area of the workspace bar but nothing happened.

I tried to use the tools within the widget itself - it offers you the opportunity to use an image (see screenshot below).
I also opened it in Flash and tried to replace the images for one of the button styles there w/ my own, but in re-publishing the SWF from there I broke the widget. When I attempted to use the edited widget, there were no customization controls available after I inserted it (see screenshot two below).

I've just installed Captivate 8. I want to customize the workspace but I can't save my settings. The option that the Help file describes (Window>>Workspace>>New Workspace) isn't in my version of the software. All I see is Workspace>>Reset "Classic"

Rick points to Expert mode, but you have to be aware that there are no workspaces provided anymore in CP8. In expert mode you can create custom workspaces besides the Classic which is the only one left. Still, some possibilities are gone (hoping not for ever ): you cannot reduce a panel to an icon, you cannot move the BBB toolbar (that replaced the vertical toolbox), nor the Align toolbar, both are fixed and take up valuable space at the top of the screen. Other panels can be moved to different docking stations or made floatable.

How do I customize the Refresh Button in Firefox 29?

In Firefox 29, the refresh button is permanently embedded in the address bar's field on the far right. On large monitors, this is very inconvenient.
In most cases, the URL of the current website does not reach beyond the 1024 pixel mark, and even if it does, the far right-hand portion of any given URL is usually the least significant part of the web address.
Particularly in Right-To-Left language versions of Firefox, a user's attention is heavily focused on the leading portion of the URL, on the far left of the browser window.
Why is the user forced to break attention from the leading edge of the address bar, and find the far right-hand side of the address field (which can vary in length), AND THEN target the mouse on the very small refresh icon?
Why is the user forced to lift their hands from a resting position on the keyboard, to find the F5 key to refresh the page?
If the iser is already looking at the URL bar, and the refresh is located directly to the left of the address bar, this makes refreshing the page with the mouse a lot more convenient.
Please allow the position of the refresh buttong to be configurable in future versions. There's no legitimate reason to lock down the refresh button.

I cannot enable Classic Theme Restorer. After a month, it still breaks Colorful tabs, all of my tabs are either clear or the same color except for the currently selected tab and pinned tabs. Yes, colorful tabs is that important. It helps me organize and tell my tabs apart. My other problem is that every time I open the customize menu tab now, my toolbars get rearranged from address bar at the top, bookmarks toolbar, and yahoo toolbar with tabs below. When I select or open the customize menu tab, the tool bars get rearranged to yahoo tollbar on top and address bar on bottom. Simply closing Firefox or restarting it fixes the problem, but it makes customizing a problem. I recently installed Adblock Plus to fix a hanging and freezing problem. I keep my add ons-extensions and plug ins up to date and am running the latest version of Firefox non-beta. I am on Windows 8.1 and run with many tabs, but have selected in options the, "do not load tabs until selected" option. I really think you guys need to scap Firefox 29 and go back to 28 and rebuild from there. Stop trying to satisfy or appel to developers and programmers. They are the minority of users. The majority of users use the Internet, computers, and browsers, including Firefox as a tool to do their work. Ignoring that idea, or forging ahead the developer way in spite of this has been a major failing of the IT community and was the cause of the problems with Internet Explorer, Windows Vista, Windows 8, and now OS X, and now Firefox 29. Matching the Chrome rapid release cycle was a mistake. Simply releasing updates more often was the answer, not trying to imitate the competition. I don't use IE or Chrome often because they load all tabs on open, and Chrome is not faster unless you turn off Java, Flash, and everything that makes the Web vibrant and interesting. Congratulations on joining the two big crap browsers out there. Being most used does not mean being the most liked. Firefox was the most liked until it tried to be the most popular. I'm a teacher, and I can tell you, the popular kids are also the most shallow and superficial....

Customize the SUBMIT Button

I'm trying to customize the standard webForm submit button. Pretty sure it can be styled similarly to the way you can customize the Image Verification. Change the color, change the size, change the text, etc... I've been searching but can't seem to find it in the system or knowledgebase. Any help?

Nevermind guys... I just styled the button with CSS. I seemed to remember a way to customize the web form buttons within the BC system in the past and was just trying to remember how it was done.
But doing everything through CSS is much better. Thanks anyway!

How to customize the return button

I need to validate if ‘Return’ button functionality can restore previous page with the data that had been entered.
Example.
Header page is table format with header ID , header status and two input fields. Users can enter dates on many rows, then, when the user clicks on one header record, the details page for that record is displayed. When the user hits return from the details, we want to not only go back to the header page and display the original queried results, but we want to also retain the input dates that the user entered on all the rows.
Is this possible with or without the extensive use of temp tables?

While returning back to original page keep retain AM property value to true. This will take care of everything.

Photoshop cc 2014 my workspace button is missing

I'm running the updated Photoshop CC 2014 on a new 27" retina display iMac. I just noticed the button for the workspaces is missing. I can see the workspaces if I go to the menu bar and click on Window > Workspaces but the button is completely missing from the the control panel. I deleted the Workspaces preferences. I would be grateful for any help.

I forgot to mention that I'm using Yosemite. By the way, I solved the problem. I went to the Preferences panel and in the Interface tab, I un-clicked Enable Narrow Options Bar. For some reason after I did that, the Workspace button came back on. I've never had that problem before. Maybe it's a bug with Yosemite and Photoshop. I hope I can help someone else frustration.

Customize the selected answer looking and customize radio btns.

I am new to Adobe Captivate, I am using Captivate 6, I am trying to make a course. On quiz part, if I have two answers for one question, I want to have a selected state effect on the question that user select (like the orange one in the Img 1 below). I tried the Show and Hide function at action panel in Quiz Properties. It didn't seem work for me. And, it looks like that I can't customize the radio buttons that comes with the quiz slides either. So, I am wondering does anyone know how to do it?
Another thing is: how can I get rid off the Submit Button, Review Area and Auestion 1 of 2 these three elements that come in when you create a new question slide? (the circled elements on Img 2 is what I want to get rid off). When I right click the element, there isn't any options to delete it, I also tried to press the delete key on keyboard, it didn't let me delete it either.

Perhaps some article I wrote about customizing default Question slides could help you to solve some of your questions. They were written fro CP5/5.5 but a lot is still valid. CP6 has more possibilities (like Dynamic quiz scope, branching awareness and remediation, pretest, partial scores and penalties) but the basics of question slides (like the buttons..) are still the same:

Do not get rid of the Review area, you can shrink it but do not delete it: it also severs to display the feedback message on the score slide and the warning if a question has not been answered during review.
The Progress indicator (Question x of y) can easily be turned off in the Quiz Preferences. Submit button is necessary if you keep the two-step process (look at my blog posts).
If you want total control over question slides, you'll have to quit using the default ones (created to make life simpler) and create your own question slides using standard objects, variables and advanced actions. Since you are posting in the Advanced Captivate users forum, I suppose you are acquainted with that possibility as well.

'Customize the look of the UWL main page' option. In Tasks tab, 'Customize the View' button we get the following error: java.lang.ClassCastException. Exception ocurred during procesing of Web Dynpro application sap.com/tckmcbc.uwl.ui~wd_admin/UWLControlCenterConfiguration.

What is the version of the UWLJWF component that you are using, including patch level? Do you have to do this for all user id's or can you personlize the display only per person? If you can just personalize the UWL per person you can do this from the personalize option from the context menu. Once you invoke the personalize option, select the column that you want to hide via the dropdown menu, remove from current view and click save.
If you need to do this portal wide, you can do it through the wizard or update the xml file yourself.
To update the xml file:
Example for the default view

Above in this code you will see the following for the DefaultView:
columnOrder="subject, isEscalated, creatorId, createdDate, priority, attachmentCount, dueDate, status"
Here you can remove the columns that you do not want all users to see. Rename the xml file (but keep the uwl.standard on the system) and upload your new xml file with high priority. I just tested this on our internal test portal and it worked fine.

Subfolder in the Workspace ES?

Hello,
I would like to ask if it is possible to customize the Workspace so I can create a sub-folder in the Start Process tab e.g. Divisions\IT, Divisions\HR, Divisions\MNT, etc? Can any one please advise.

Set-up the workspace

how can I decide to work on sheet of w:98484 h:23657 px?? in the previous version were possible to customize the workspace in mm, px,inch and cm. With InDesign 6 or CC apparently is not possible....

The maximum width and height dimensions are 216" so your 98484 x 23657 pixel dimension is too large. ID measures a pixel as 1/72", which would make your width 1367.8".
By default the dimensions for a New Document when the Intent is web are pixels. If you want to enter pixels when the intent is Print just add px after the number (i.e., 1800px will get converted to 25")

Customize dvd launch button

does anyone know a way to customize the DVD button. Before i reinstalled the OS the person had the button customized to open a game. I cant find anything in the control panel to change it. i have tried using QuickPlay button Remapper program but it doesnt work. I cant find anything else that helps online.

You can re-map the key as follows.
Hold down the Windows key and press R.
Into the run box type regedit and hit enter.
Click Ok to the uac prompt.
Navigate to the following location.
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\HP Quick Launch Buttons
Look for the key QAction
You need to edit the path to the executable in the left hand pane to the one you want to launch when the button is pressed - eg to launch a program called 'Game' an example path would be C:\Program Files\Game Folder\Game.exe
Once done, you'll need to restart the notebook before the change will take effect.

After installing or upgrading to Firefox 31, starting Firefox does not show homepage, customize shows a blank page and the option button does not work

I am the Windows admin for a university department and install PCs with Firefox all the time. This problem does not happen with every PC I maintain, only a select few (different model laptops with Windows 8.1 and update 1.) Until today, it only happened with new user accounts (with admin rights) that I setup on the laptops for our staff. Today this happened with The Administrator account while setting up a new laptop. In all cases so far, I install Windows from a saved image that was created using sysprep.
I have tried the many suggestions of resetting Firefox, deleting the users Firefox profile, deleting the users Windows profile, uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox and the latest Java, but nothing helps. After uninstalling, I run an app to delete temp files and caches and will even manually remove registry keys HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mozilla and HKCU\SOFTWARE\Mozilla. Plus I reboot and make sure the install folder is deleted after uninstall.
Results are the same: after installing Firefox 31, the initial setup window for migrating IE and/or Chrome pops up and after clicking the Finish button, Firefox starts, but does not show the initial new user page, only a blank page. Clicking on the Options button (3 bars) does nothing. Right-clicking in the proper area, the popup menu appears so I can choose to Customize, but that only opens another tab with about:customize in the URL and the page is blank. From the right-click popup menu, I can enable the Menu Bar and get to Options from that.
My latest attempt has helped a little. I uninstalled Firefox 31, cleaned up, deleted user Firefox profile, rebooted and then installed Firefox 30. Inital startup runs, and tells me I'm not up to date, and the Options button works. But I still cannot customize.
I then upgraded to Firefox 31, but then it's back to no startup page, no options button and no customize. I can downgrade to 30 and get all but customize working again.
Only Addon is one for McAfee Scriptscan for Firefox 15.1.0, which just after installing is disabled.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Ok. I disabled hardware acceleration. The only extension is the McAfee Scriptscan for Firefox 15.1.0, which was already disabled. I then disabled all plugins (Acrobat, Google Update, Intel Identity Protection (2x), Java Deployment Toolkit, Java Platform, MS Office 2013, Quicktime, Shockwave, Silverlight), which were all up to date.
Normal or safe mode still has same result. No startup, no option button and no customize.
