Customize trf rules for an export data source

Hello
I am loading data from an ODS into another ods and cube through its 'export data source'. Now, I want to customize it by writing some routines in the mapping. I am able to write my routines in the upd rules but not in the trf rules. Why is this so? I know that the trf rules are system generated, is that why users cant edit it?

Hi Atul,
You are right , transfer rules cannot be written, though transfer structure can be appended with new fields.

I didnt get transfer rules for some of the FI master datasources.

When I right click on datasource->create transfer rules->Only other option is enabled.WHen I say continue I am getting this error
*Infosource(transaction data) is not known.
How to resolve this isssue.

Double click on the data source and go to edit mode, system automatically provides the corresponding BI content infosources if any and install the same.
Not all the fields will be mapped with BI info objects. Only necessary ones as defined in BI content will be available for you.
If you feel the mapping is incomplete you can modify the same according to the requirement.

How to find Info Source for Export Data source in Data Marts node

Hi
I need to load data from ODS to Info Cube. I created the Export Data source for the ODS. I can see the Export Data Source but in the Data Marts node of Info Source i cannot find the Info Source for the Export Data source i created. I replicated Data sources in the BW source system. I also tried to use Insert Lost Nodes from the Context Menu of the InfoSource node but nothing worked. Please let me know what i need to do to see the Info source in the Data Marts.

In the infosource tab in RSA1 - use settings --> display generated objects
you will be able to see the datamart infosources..

Unable to generate "Export data source" for Master data infoobject

Hi Gurus,
I'm in BW 3.5
I need to generate "Export data source" for a master data info object.
I followed below steps:
I ticked the checkbox "Characterist. is export data source" in the master data Info object maintenance screen.
In the Infosource area, for the desired Infoobject --> Right click --> Generate export datasource --> a dialog box displays saying "The generation of DataSource was successful"
Problem:
Even after refreshing, etc.. I couldn't find the generated datasource 8**** for the above master data. I also tried to replicate the datasource from the myself source system, but couldn't find it even there. I don't know where the generated export data source is hiding ???
Could anyone please help ????

Hi Venkat,
I guess that after creating an export datasource for infoobject this DS should appear in the RSA1-Source systems - MYSELF - datasource overview (with name starting with 8). Since it's a datamart, it should appear also as system generated infosource. And in this case you would be able to assign in URs of data target the appropriate infosource (make sure that in Infoproviders tab of RSA1 you have inserted your infoobject as a data target).
However, there are some bugs related to export data source. CHeck if you see you export data source in RSA6.
If you don't see it - consider applying OSS Note #816892 - "30BSP26: Export DS for master data is not generated".
Note #876845 - "30BSP29: InfoObject change: Export DataSource not adjusted" is also may be useful.

Data load issue with export data source - BW 3.5

Hi,
We are facing issues in loading data with the help of export data source.
We have created export data source of 0PCA_C01 cube. With the help of this export datasource, we are loading data to other custom cube. Scenario is working fine in development server.
But when we transported objects to quality server data is not getting loaded to custom target cube.
It is extracting zero records. All transports are ok and we have generated export datasource in quality before transports .Also regenerated export datasource after transport and activated infosource, update rule via RS* programs. Every object is active but data is not getting extracted.
RSA3 for 80PCA_C01 datasource isn't extracting any record in Quality. Records getting extracted in development. We are in BW 3.5 with patch level 19.
Please guide us to resolve the issue.

Hi
Make sure that you have relevant Role & Authorization at Quality/PRS.
You have to Transport the Source Cube first and then Create a Generate Export Data Source in QAS. Then, replicate data sources for BW QAS Soruce System. Make sure this replicated Data Source in QAS. Only then can transport new update rules for second cube.

Export Data Source Transport Problem

Hi All,
I have IO FI Super Number - did export data source for that and generated 8zfssupno for myself BW system in Dev system.
Used that export DS for another MD Account and created transfer rule.
Now when i try to transport the Request to QA env. the export DS request shows status succesfull but cannt find 8zfssupno DS into QA system and my transfer rule request has been failed to transport.
i collected DS twice but both requests are also not identical.
One has Object Directory Entry -->R3TRISFS8ZFSSUPNOT
and the other one dont.
i can see my export DS in t-code RSA6 also.
Do i need to transport the main IO FI Super Number before transporting export DS ?
can someone pl. give me the solution ?

Creation of the export data source failed

trying to activate ods but getting this message that the creation of the export data source failed.
and it also gives message that RFC Connection to source system is damaged===> no metadata upload
Please can someone help me with this.

Hi,
Check ur source system connection. by going to RSA1-> Source System-> right click and then select check.
U will get the info about the source system Connection. IF RFC has failed then better be in touch with ur basis.
Or try restoring ur source system connection by
Source system-> Restore.
Its sets all the default conenctions b/n ur systems.
Once again check the connection now. if it says ok.. then try do the export data source and then assign the data source to info source and then maintain the Update rules..

Problem with delta update on customised export data source.

Hi all BW gurus,
I have created several customised export data sources in the R/3 system. And I have made use of the utility program <Z_CHANGE_DELTA_PROCESS> to update the ROOSOURCE table.
While this can result in being able to do initial update (instead of full update), the subsuquent delta update is not working.
In RSA7, the datasource is with green light and in RSA3, the extractor can extractor data out of it.
Does anybody have some idea on this?
I heard that there is a way to change the Business Transaction Event (BTE), but I don't quite understand how this is performed. And wonder if this is the only way out. To me, the triggering point would be the same, meaning the InfoPackage would be executed, then call the extractors in R/3 to extract the delta update in order to load into the InfoCube.
And how do others do for executing delta update of the customised data source?

ERROR WHEN GENERATING EXPORT DATA SOURCE

Dear Members,
I am getting an error when generating export data source for Info Cube. I'm creating an Info Cube based on already existed info cube. Literally I am copying all the settings of an info cube to new Info Cube. The scenario is to load the data from one Info Cube to the other. The creation of Info Cube from an Info Cube is successful. But the problem is when I am generating export data source the following error is occurred.
Error: Data Source 81c_svrr does not exist in source system B3TCLNT800 of version A.
what could be the reason for the error?
Please let me know.

The problem is because of error in the Myself Connection , Check the Myself connection in the source systems and the activate and restore the connection and try, it should work..

Question for customs "Define rules for default document data"

Hello all,
we would like to set up the data for AES. We set the country of origin, as you can see on the below screenshot.
The problem is that the country of origin is not forwarded to AES. In the export declaration under the item detail there is an empty field at the country of origin.
What do we have to change in the set up "Define rules for default document data"?

Hi Sven,
Sorry to take the conversation in a different direction, but it's very unusual to propose the Country of Origin (CofO) by default, and not usually accepted by the Customs authority. Generally the CofO depends on where you obtain the goods. If that doesn't change much, it's usual to set the CofO on the Material Master record in the ERP system - in that case the value copies automatically into the GTS Export Declaration item. That is why there is no standard configuration having IT_CUCOO as a Target Field.
Also, in many countries, CofO is not mandatory in the Export Declaration (although always mandatory in the Import Declaration). You might want to check the situation in your area.

i have a requirement to create a export data source in production system for master data infoobject.then i have to replicate it into Development system. The doubt is once this export data source is created in the production system where i can find this? RSA5...or there is some other transaction? and before replicating these export datasource to Developmentsystem, do i need to activate it?( I know there is prefix of 8 in export data source).

Hi,
You can create it> master data InfoObject>rt click>additional function>export data source.Now you can find it in the datasources in the Source System. Go to Source systems and go to Datasource overview for your BW system. You should find the datasource 8****** under BW Datasources-> Business Info Warehouse -> Data Marts -> Data Marts Master Data.

And trying to transport the Export data source, i.e. 8Company_code to QA system.
Its showing the log that, imported sucessfully, but, i can't see the object in QA.
Iam currently working on BW 3.5 system.

Help with Enhancing Export Data Source

Folks,
I have a scenario where the infocube is used an export data source
In the data source I realize that the 0customer is not available
I changed the extract structure of the datasource to include 0customer but I have still not got the 0customer as part of the datasource
Would appreciate help on how the datasource can be enhanced to include 0customer; pls note that the infocube does have 0customer

Can you tell me which datasource you are using to extract the value for 0customer from R/3?
You check the data source for data ( For 0customer) by using the extract checker tcode rsa3.
You can also check for the datasources in r/3 by uising the tcode rsa6.

Modify export data source

Hello friends,
I am in need for some advice for modifying an export data source.
My scenario is as following: I have a cube for which i would like to generate a datasource in order to export some of its contents to a second cube.
That means i would like to "erase" or hide some of the infoobjects present in the first cube from the generated export datasource.
In rsa6 i cannot set the hide flag for those fields.
In rsa2 i see that the field attribute for the infoobjects i would like to hide is set to 'X' whereas i would like to have a '3' instead.
Can someone guide on the procedure of setting the field attribute for the export datasource?

Hi Gili,
I am not very sure if it is recommended in general to modify the "exported data source", because any change made manually, will be overwritten if the cube is changed and/reactivated again in the future.
However for your case, I believe even without changing the generated DS it should work - simply mapping the info objects available in cube2 and leave the rest unmapped.

80IC_C03 Export data source

Hi,
As far as I know, fact table of cube 0IC_C03 stores only inflow and outflow key figures and not the main key figures.
Hence, the cube does not have a record for every 'Calday'. In query, Stock is calculated for any 'Calday' at runtime.
When I generate export data source, it provides 'Inflow', 'Outflow' as well as main stock KF.
Shall I conclude that the export data source gives me record for every 'Calday'.
If not, please give me suggestion how to get stock for every calday so that I can update it into another data target,
