Customize Web-Client nterface (Documents tab)

Hi - has anybody manage to customize the Primavera web-client interface to add custom screens.
In particular, we would like to customize the 'Documents' tab and integrate Primavera with our content management system (EMC Documentum) to store and retrieve documents.
I am unable to find any decent guide on how to actually modify Primavera user interface, if such a thing is possible/supported. There is plenty of information about using the SDK/WebServices for accessing Primavera project data, but we need to go the other way - access third-party system from within Primavera.
I know we can use SharePoint or Oracle Content Management for this, but we need to use EMC Documentum.
Any tips/useful info/ideas highly appreciated,

You can't customize the interface, but you could use a custom portlet and point it to your existing document management system, or create your own site that does what you need.

Spaces disappear from folder name when opened thrugh Web Client

Hi,
I am opening a pdf or word document through method EXECUTE of class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.
Now if there are more than one space in the path (ex. D:tes t.pdf ) then file gets opened sucessfully if I log in through WIN client in SAP.
But if i log in through SAP WEB client ,then only one space is retained in the URL and rest of the spaces are removed by method and I get a message "Path D:\tes t.pdf" not found.
Any suggestions welcome?

Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.

(caution: do not delete the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox program installation folder)
Note:
Deleting the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] will reset the customizations of the toolbars to the defaults.
You can rename "localstore.rdf" to "localstore.rdf.sav" to test if that solves it.
Then you can restore the customization by copying "localstore.rdf.sav" to "localstore.rdf" if it didn't work.

Re: Reason Of Rejection field in the Sales Order screen in IC Web client

WE have implemented CRM 6.0 & ECC 6.0
Our call center guys login to IC Webclient to place Standard Orders in the CRM system which replicates to ECC.
Now as most of us know that the Order cannot be rejected once a Delivery Document is created for it. The field becomes Inactive.
Now as per our requirement, we want to enhance this functionality & allow the user to Reject the Order till the Delivery is not Shipped. To make this happen the Reason Of Rejection Field needs to be active even after Delivery is created.
We have made changes to the ECC system & the CRM backend system to allow this functionality.
I was assuming that keeping the field active in CRM backend would automatically keep it active on the IC web client.
However this is not the case.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction. I know that the IC webclient is based out of JAVA.
If someone could tell me if there is any customization that can make this happen or if some part of the code associated to the IC webclient needs to be enhanced to make this happen ?

I got thru the view & also went into the attributes.
In that I see different codes for this field.
Get_Rejection
Set_Rejection
Get_M_Rejection
Get_V_Rejection
Get_I_Rejection
Get_P_Rejection
So now my question is whether the deactivation part needs to be coded in one of these or will I have to create one of such codes to achieve my functionality ?

IC web client : No SLA and Questionnare sections in Complaint View

In IC webclient,IC_AGENT business role, I am unable to see SLA and Questionnare sections in complaint view.
But if i login through DEFAULT business role and go to complaint view i can see both the sections.
When i went throught the UI configure tool,i saw that the IC web client UI components are different than the normal default UI components for complaint.
So can anybody let me know how to enable these section in IC webclient ?
Do we need to do UI customization here ?

Hi Eyal,
I have followed these steps to get the result.
1. In MS word, I put the place holders like <BUS1006-LINE0> and in properties of the field - selected as merge field.
2. Then implemented BADI and put break point in BADI.
3. When in FAX view, I selected word doc template with check box, at this point, the process stops in BADI and here i am seeing value for this variable.
4. Then after clicking on the word document, one more window opens with template information , but it is showing <BUS1006-LINE0>.
Would you please suggest, why the values are not passed to MS word.
Or would you please explain briefly what you have done to send contact person information to MS word

Hyperion Links in HFM Web Client

I would like to add Hyperion Reports link in the HFM web client (4.0.1) under Hyperion Links when in the Browser view. I can't find any information on how to add this. Any help would be appreciated.

Office Web Apps Server 2013 - Word Web App - Problem with Tab space

Hello We have Office Web Apps Server 2013 running with SharePoint 2013. Users Editing a Word document with Office Web Apps, can't use "Tabs", any Word document with Tabs; the tabs are replaced with a single space.
Has anyone noticed this? Is this a bug?

Tab Keyboard shortcut for editing document content .

Siebel Web Client crashes when clicking a certain view (Income).

We are using Siebel Public Sector and I am encountering a recurring issue with our Siebel Web Client. For most part it works but something strange occurs when I execute a series of steps. Whenever I go to the Contacts Screen > Income View then click on another screen tab (i.e. Contacts, Cases, Calendar, Home, Households, etc.) the web client stops responding and throws out an error saying: Session Warning: The server you are trying to access is either busy or experiencing difficulties. Please close the Web browser, open a new browser window, and try logging in again.
I'm not really sure what is going on so I checked the logs. I'm not really sure what is going on. If someone could enlighten me on what this issue could be that would be awesome!

Dude - you definitely don't need any 3rd party software to figure this out. A bit of patience and research will help you solve it AND help you gain a better understanding of how Siebel works and how to debug problems such as this in the future.
Setting the Log Level to 5 for all events in the Public Sector Object Manager is your first step. Log out then log back in and replicate the problem.
Locate your log file and have a look at what's going on - chances are you'll see something in there that will immediately reveal the source of the problem.
If there's a proper 'crash' involved, Siebel will generate a Flight Data Recorder (FDR) file - there are instructions on My Oracle Support on how to decode these. Really useful and very interesting to see how Siebel works at a low level.
Debugging and fixing can definitely be arduous in Siebel - no two ways about it. However, researching, analysing and fixing issues yourself will prove both rewarding and educational! :)

Limiting the Text Size in CRM 5.0 IC Web Client

Hello Experts,
We have a scenario where in we can enter the text for a CRM Document (say Service document) in the text field of IC Web Client. We have noticed that we are even allowed to enter the text of size around 73 MB also (which comes into 1000s of Word Documents).
We have now have a requirement for limiting this text as it is causing some problems and somehow affecting system performance.
Could anyone help me in limitating the text size in CRM 5.0 IC Web Client. I mean whether there is any configuration setting for doing the same or we need to do it in any text determination Procedure. Thanks in anticipation for your response.

Disable documents tab in the sales order

   My client is having a requirement that if ship to party reference date in the purchase order data tab is entered, No user should be able to edit / delete documents attached in the documents tab of sales order.
   I've tried to implement field check BADI for this but documents tab is not coming under field check BADI.
   Is there any other way to do the same ...?

Hi,
I think that you will not get any particular BADI for implementing the logic that you have mentioned regarding the Document Tab. But there is a BADI which gets called whenever you will do a SAVE of any one order documents.
BADI : ORDER_SAVE. You can use the method CHECK_BEFORE_SAVE where you can implement your logic. You will get the GUID of the 1Order Object with which you need to get all the data. And then you can do a validation and if it does not satisfy the Save Criteria then you need to raise the exception - DO_NOT_SAVE.

Interactive Reporting Web Client on Apple Mac: Intelligence iServer?

Hi All,
I just installed EPM release 11.1.1.1 along with Interactive Reporting. We were led to believe that Macintosh was supported as long as FireFox was used as a browser. Everything seems to work fine except when I try to create a new Interactive Reporting Web Client document, I get the error message:
Viewing and analysis with Interactive Reporting Web Client is supported in Windows only.
For other platforms, use the Intelligence iServer option: ihtml servlet icon
Contact your system administrator if this option is not available.
I cannot seem to find much information on this "Intelligence iServer". Does this exist and will it let FireFox clients use Interactive Reporting Web Client? Is it an option that can be installed on the server?

I have some knowledge about this Intelligence iServer, which I would like to share with you.
In Version 8(HPSu 8.5), Hyperion has 5 servers, which we need to install-
Hyperion Foundation server
Hyperion SQR server
Hyperion SQR iserver
Hyperion Intelligence Server
Hyperion Intelligence iserver
Each server had its own specific work and foundation server was base of all other servers.
Hyperion Intelligence iserver supports the user to access the BQY in ihtml client. It helps user to perform some feature (like drill down-drill up) in html view.
Later Hyperion Came with System 9 and integrated the entire server into a single bundle (internally I don't know what happened).
This EPM 111.1.1 is Hyperion System 9.5 only.
I would like to advice you to log this case to Oracle support (metalink3) and ask more information about this.
It may be that, EPM 11 doesn't support Web Client in Macintosh environment

Yes, there are ways to add buttons to the user interface. The solution depends on your use case. If you are wanting to add a button in the same area that you see other action buttons, like the Save or Edit buttons, then you can do by following the instructions in the Navigation Extensibility Guide. You can find this document in the Extensibility Pack documentation online. All the online documentation can be found at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/agile-085940.html#plmprocess - select the Extensibility Pack and you'll find the Navigation Guide in there.

Business role customizing not working in crm 2007 web client

Can someone tell me what services need to be activated via sicf for business role customizing to work in the Web Client under the Administration component in CRM 2007. I have everything else working in this are eg surveys, document template, fact sheet configuration, view configuration but the business role customizing when selected just opens a blank screen

Hi Eddie,
The SAP CRM 2007 Master guide suggests enabling all the SICF services in the SAP namespace.
We had some script errors in CRM UI, but once all the SICF services were activated, they simply disappeared.
The IDES demo systems are also set up this way, so you can try doing it.

Browser problems with IC Web Client

I receive some errors when I try to launch Interaction Scripts in "My Scripts" section of Interaction Centre Web Client (IC WC) and nothing works after.
One of them is "_htmlbMessageBar" - undefined.
Then I try to check the situation in FireFox 1.5 (latest)
All Portal works good but not IC.
I even didn't reach the main screen!
I examined JS-logs and found error:
"document.frames has no properties"
and then SAP code
"doc=document.frames["A"].document;"
So property "document" is not specified for object "frame"!!!
Of course I immidiately look at W3C DOM Spec:

There is no such property! But in DOM 2 released this one - "contentDocument". (http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/PR-DOM-Level-2-HTML-20000927/changes.html)
How it could be that SAP uses some browser that is not W3C compatible?

But again... No answer from SAP.
Of course changing standart SAP content is not good - but what is the solution?! Try as many browsers as exist in the world since I find the best one?!

I tried many Mozilla-based browsers (Mozilla, Netscape, FireFox) - all the same error with ...no properties ...;
I even can't see any IC Web Client window to check what is the situation with _htmlbMessageBar.
IE 6.0 SP1 and SP2 shows main screen but fails when start scripts.

In this scenario, you can share the document with the clients to and provide co-author privileges.
Co-authors can edit the form design, options, responses, and summary report (everything that you can do).
Note:- They do not require a paid subscription to view the responses, free subscription users can become co-authors.

Using interactive forms with in IC web client

Hi,
I had requirement to implement the Adobe Interactive Forms (PDF) with in IC Web Client.
The requirement is to
1. Display an adobe interactive form (PDF) in the IC Web Client when a particular link is pressed.
2. Then the user has to enter the data and the data captured from the interactive PDF Form that should be processed by the ICWC.
An example of the process could be, having a PDF form to enter customer data and creating a Business Partner using the data from PDF.
I would like to know the possibility of such a scenario.
Form ICWC point of view; if we have URL that is points to a callable interactive form object then it can be trigged form ICWC.
This is an assumption and I am not sure that these kinds of objects are supported by ICWC frame work.
If we assume such a URL can be managed and if possibly shown in the ICWC UI, then the next question would be How to retrieve the entered data in the PDF Form as the ABAP data for the View in IC Web client to do the further processing?".
As I am short of options please provide me help if anybody know anything on this issue.

As of SAP NetWeaver 04 (in SAP Web Application Server), you can use a new solution to
create interactive forms and print forms for the optimization of your
form-based business processes. This solution uses Portable Document Format (PDF)
and software from Adobe Systems Inc. that has been integrated into the SAP environment.
You can create interactive forms in PDF format that allow users to
fill out the form on the screen and save their entries in XML format in the form.
When the SAP system receives the PDF form, it extracts the data saved in the form,
and can process it further.
