Customize window size  for HTML Help?

My .CHM file opens up in a ridiculously tiny window, and I
can't seem to change that from within Robohelp. I saw some
information on Rick Steve's site about customizing window sizes for
Webhelp and Flashhelp. I'm hoping there's a similar technique
available for HTML help.
Thanks!

In Project Manager, double click Windows and then the window
you use. There should be fields for setting the size. If not, check
that HTML is your primary output and then create a new window, then
you should see the fields.

  • Main window size for HTML Help

    Hello again
    I have looked at the archives and despite thinking I had seen
    this particular issue covered before, I could not find anything. I
    generate a HTML Help File with RoboHelp for Word x5.0.1 and would
    like to set the default window size as at the moment my Help File
    opens in a rather small window. Also if a user maximises the
    window, closes the Help File and re-opens it, it still opens in the
    small windows, i.e. the size settings were not save upon closing
    the file.
    Can anybody help? I reckon there must be some place (I
    noticed the existence of the Edit > Windows menu but it only
    seems to apply to WinHelp) I can set this up.
    Thank you.

  • Crash on search function for HTML Help file (.chm) when connected to a Visual C++ application

    Crash on search function for HTML Help file (.chm) when
    connected to a Visual C++ application
    I use the RH_ShowHelp API command to connect a HTML Help file
    (.chm file generated by RoboHelp Word X 5) to my Visual C++
    application. My application is able to call up this HTML help file
    in context-sensitive mode and everything is working great in the
    Contents and Index panels EXCEPT when I click on List Topics (after
    I enter a KEYWORD for search) in the Search panel.
    I got an error that said “Unhandled exception in
    xxxx.exe.(HHCTRL.OCX):0xC00000FD: Stack overflow”
    I am able to execute this .chm file by itself and the search
    function works well in this case. I am using HHActiveX.dll that is
    created on 2/23/04. Is this the correct version?? Any advice what
    to do here??

    Hi agschin and welcome to the RH forums. The hhactivex.dll
    file is not used by the search function so you can rule that our.
    Have you tried recompiling and seeing if the problem still happens?
    You can also start the Bug Hunter feature in RH - View > Output
    View and then select the Bug Hunter button - and see if that throws
    up any clues.

    In Tiger you could have a unique window size for the day view, week view, and month view. Is this option gone with Leopard? I liked viewing my day, week, and month in different size windows just by clicking on the buttons and having it go to that view.

  • Output File for HTML Help

    I have created an HTML-based Help in RoboHelp. The output file was a *.chm file. The development team is indicating that the *chm file is not what is needed, and that they need an *.htm point/base file to integrate the Help into a web-based application. Is this correct? I thought that was a requirement for Web Help, but not for HTML Help. When integrating an HTML-based Help into a web app, is the individual *chm file the only file that needs to be handed off to development?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi there
    The .CHM file format is for locally installed applications. WebHelp and FlashHelp are intended for being placed on a central server and accessed from there. WebHelp and FlashHelp exist as a collection of loose files.

  • Set custom default window size for opening Preview?

    I'm using a terminal-based text editor, and when I compile LaTeX files, I have a script to open the compiled pdf in Preview. The trouble is that Preview opens in the same default dimensions every time, which covers up other applications I have open.
    It's not a huge deal, but it would be nice to have Preview open flushed right and as half the width of the screen every time. Since I'm opening and closing it so often, moving it and resizing it every time gets really annoying.
    I realize this isn't a built-in option for Preview, but is there any way of doing it using Terminal or otherwise? I've googled around and haven't found any satisfactory answers yet.
    Thanks!

    Hi zazi,
    Each window opened takes the size of the previous window opened.
    Its possible to zoom in and out as well [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/font-size-and-zoom-increase-size-of-web-pages]
    Also see:

    You can look at this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface.

  • Forms Standard Canvas/Window Sizes for

    Hello:
    What are the standard sizes of Window and Canvas for Oracle Forms to run on 1024/768 Pixel or higher resolution? We like to size the screens such a way that the users can see the whole Form Window/Canvas in both Client Server as well as Browser Based (deployed using Application Server).
    Thanks

    Steve's values were the sizes for the web-application.
    I myself test this so:
    I have a parameter-table with width and height. The WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED trigger gets this parameters and resizes the window.
    Now I change the values of the 2 parameters in the db with Oracle Raptor (e.g.) and after that I return in my runform - the trigger fires and resizes the window to the new parameters.
    If you found the 2 parameters for your environment, you should place them for example in property classes in a reference template. All your new forms then reference this properties and so all your forms have the same layout.
    that's it

    Applications should be set to "run when openend". There is no purpose in a stopped application or a run button. Then simply hide the toolbar, menu bar, and even windows title bar as desired.
    The scrollbars will not show when running, but they'll always show in edit mode. Did you run it? If you still think there is something wrong, please attach a simplified example. What LabVIEW version are you using?

  • RH Server 7 Necessary for HTML Help on Server?

    Hello,
    I'm currently evaluating RH Server 7. The reports, etc.,
    could be useful, but my real need is to be able to
    publish/republish my HTML help files to the server in support of a
    .NET web app; that is, repost files ongoing with updates, as
    needed. Can I do this with just RH 7 (simple updates to the "live"
    content), or is RHS7 required, does anyone know or is anyone
    already doing this (perhaps with RH 5 or 6)?
    Thanks.
    Carl

    Hi, RollBarBound.
    >So I can publish WebHelp or WebHelp Pro for server-based
    applications without Server 7?
    Good question
    One part yes, one part no! Some clarification is needed.
    The word "server" is getting mangled here because you're
    talking about the RoboHelp Server 7 on the one hand and
    "server-based applications" on the other. Let's see if I can sort
    it out.
    It sounds like WebHelp would be the most appropriate in your
    situation (without the RoboHelp Server). You would use WebHelp Pro
    *only* if you were publishing directly to RoboHelp Server 7. That
    said, you can also have that same WebHelp Pro project provide help
    to any server-based application.
    Hope this helps.

  • Hide hover text for HTML help file images???

    When I build HTML help, hovering over the image shows the
    graphic's name. Can this be hidden?

    Hi Molly0602 and welcome to our community
    Hmmm, not sure about using RoboHelp for Word to do this. Out
    of curiosity, why are you using RoboHelp for Word to create HTML
    based output? Why not switch to RoboHelp HTML? I don't believe this
    is an issue in that environment.
    Just a thought... Rick

  • How can I customize window size and have it stay that way? It automatically maximizes the moment I click anywhere on the page.

    I have added a large widescreen monitor and now have a two-screen set up. This taxed my old video card, so we replaced that, too. Then I updated Firefox. Now my window automatically maximizes. "Restore" is the same size as "Maximize", and I can resize it if I carefully drag and drop all four corners. But if I click on the top bar to relocate the resized window, it re-maximizes. I can't find any options or settings that allow me to fix the window size, lock a customized window size, etc. IE8 is not doing this, so I don't think it's the monitor or desktop settings.

    Window sizes and positions are stored in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder].<br />
    <br />
    Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.<br />
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf<br />
    (caution: do not delete the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox program installation folder)<br />
    <br />
    Note:<br />
    Deleting the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] will reset the customizations of the toolbars to the defaults.<br />
    You can rename "localstore.rdf" to "localstore.rdf.sav" to test if that solves it.<br />
    Then you can restore the customization by copying "localstore.rdf.sav" to "localstore.rdf" if it didn't work.

  • Voice over and windows messenger for Mac help

    Hello,
    I am using VoiceOver and would like to use Windows Messenger for Mac but I can't seem to get VoiceOver to read the contact list for messenger when I use the control-option-shift-down arrow to interact with the contents of the window it skips the contants list and goes straight to image behind it.
    Is there a way to have VO read the contacts list in windows messenger or is it just not a compatiable program for VO?

    Here is the wikipedia article on aMSN. The article also includes a link to the aMSN website. It is a multi-platform messenger application that interoperates with Microsoft Messenger.

  • Can you change flash player window size for a published Captivate course?

    I am working on publishing a course with a FMR and, during testing, a lot of scrolling was required so I wanted to resize the window.  Is this possible and, if so, how do I do it? Similar to Flash where you can publish to dimension %???

    you can adjust the movie size in the html, with varying levels of success based on how much you scale.
    edit the swf associated .htm file with a text editor and look for this line:  var so = new SWFObject("project_name.swf", "Captivate", "641", "516", "10", "#CCCCCC");  In this case the 641 and 516 are the pixel dimensions.  you can also change it to a %
    I've never done it with FMR so I won't attest to how well it'll work.

  • Updating Window Size.  Please help

    Hi. I have a problem that I am encountering and was wondering if anyone might know of how to solve it... I have a class called CenteredFrame that extends JFrame, and other classes extends CenteredFrame. I want to be able change the size of the windows to accomodate font changes and only have scrollpane when needed (this is when the window is at its maximum size). Because each class extending CenteredFrame may have its own layouts and sizes, I returned a panel for JContentPane and placed that inside of the scrollpane. One problem I am having upon testing one class extending CenteredFrame is that when apply button is pressed for font changes, refreshFrame is called but the window does not resize properly until the apply button is clicked a second time. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? A second problem is that some of the classes extending CenteredFrame does not appear properly, buttons may be out of place even though it looked fine before scrollpane was implemented. All ideas would be helpful. Thanks.
    Here is the code
    public class CenteredFrame extends JFrame implements WindowListener {
    private JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel();
    private JScrollPane centeredFrameScrollPane;
    * Constructor
    public CenteredFrame() {
    super();
    getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout());
    centeredFrameScrollPane = new JScrollPane(mainPanel);
    super.getContentPane().add(centeredFrameScrollPane);
    //mainPanel.setLayout(new GridLayout());
    setDefaultCloseOperation(WindowConstants.DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE);
    addWindowListener(this);
    * Used as a local getContentPane method in order to allow for
    * scollpane
    public Container getContentPane() {
    return mainPanel;
    * This is used for resizing the windows if font or component sizes
    * changes
    public void refreshFrame() {
    centeredFrameScrollPane.getViewport().setExtentSize
    (centeredFrameScrollPane.getViewport().getViewSize());
    pack();

    I have not actualy tested it but how about invalidating and then packing the CenteredFrame's content pane before calling setExtentSize. If the content pane has not had its layout updated how does getViewSize know how big the content pane wants to be with the new fonts?
    As you code stands the pack is probably updating the layout of the content pane and then the second time you press "Apply" the getViewSize returns the updated information and everything works.
