Customize Workflow: remove or change schedule activity

Hi,
does anyone here have experience with customizing a workflow in OM? We use the standard workflows of Oracle (e.g. Order Flow - Generic).
Within these workflows is a scheduling activity which re-calculates and overwrites the Schedule Ship Date in our Order Lines. I want to get rid of that. I want to have this field only manually entered, but not changed by the workflow / scheduling activity.
Anyone experience with such a thing? Can somebody share his ideas and experiences and give recommendations? Is this a good idea or not? Maybe some links to some guidelines on how to do this? I have already the white paper "Using Workflow in Oracle Order Management", but some information from experience people would be highly appreciated.

thanks a lot for your response.
Yes my idea was to create a copy of the standard workflow and modify the copy. But I have not yet done such a thing with OM flows, so I was not sure if this is a recommended way at all. And also I need to find out if I can really prevent that the Schedule Ship Date gets updated automatically by some workflow.
But your response made me more confident that this is not a really bad practice ;)

Oracle Workflow home page is basically static HTML content rendered by Mod PLSQL code written in WFA_HTML.HOME procedure. There is no supported way of customizing this page.

Change workflow which is already in ACTIVE state

There is some transaction already in ACTIVE status ( i.e. ACTIVE workflows ) in database. I need to run this transaction according to new wft file what I have putted in database recently. Is is possible ? If YES then how we can achieve it. Please advice me. Also let me know if there is any other possibility to achieve it.

In a definition of a workflow process there are objects that can be changed and the change is immediately available for the WF engine to use; these objects are called non-versioning. Other objects are changed but they will be picked only when a new workflow process is launched; these objects do support versioning. If you added, removed or modified an activity then the current instance of your workflow will not use it. Please see 'Modifying Objects in Oracle Workflow Builder' in the WF dev guide to get a list of what objects support versioning.
the only thing I can think of is that if your your active workflow is already associated to a Function in the database then you can still modify the definition of such function in the database to achieve what you want. Then you just retry the activity. this would be a purely PLSQL approach.

i am triggering the workflow for all line item of PR when PR is created. now i want to create workflow when PR change also.
but before triggering the workflow i have to check the any in process workflow for the same and if then complete is and delete all its work item.
for Ex.
PR -4500000001 created with item 10 workflow triggerd ,
suppose i changed it and agan save next workflow trigged now before triggerin this workflow we have to complete the 1 instance of workflow , delete all workitem of that instant
Please suggest how can i achive this .

Hello,
We have already implemented this in our old project.Please find below the solution.
No config change is required.
1.Go to tcode SWETYPV
2. Double click on your linkage.
3. You will see there check function module.
4. MAke a custom custom function module of yours and it will have CDPOS and CDHDR as its component.
5. When so pr is changed or created this function module will be triggered there you can identify whether pr is changed or not using cdpos and cdhdr.
6. If it is change raise two events one for completeion of old worklfows which are in process second for creation of new workflow instance.
7. Create a wait step in your workflow which will wait for the completion event to be raised.

Deploy customize workflow takes a long time to show up in application

Hi,
This is the first time (newbie) i am customizing and deploying work flow in ebiz(R12), the problem that I am facing is that after I deploy the customize workflow it takes a long for the ebiz to pickup/show the changes.
What I did was to customize a standard workflow and save it back to database. I have tried retrieving the customize workflow to make sure that the workflow was save into database (not a access problem). After about a day then the customize workflow shows up (I used the 'status diagram' to see the workflow progress). Have already tried restarting the server, clearing out the cache but the customization still does not take effect (will only take effect the next day) . Am i missing a step ?

Unless you are specifying an effective date in the future when you deploy the definition, the new version should become available immediately. Any existing workflow processes will continue to run using the definition that was valid when the process started, but any new processes will use the new definition.
If this is not happening, then I would urgently raise a service request with Oracle support, as you are experiencing something very different from the expected functionality.

Change status(Active/Inactive) of file adapter by the external command

Hi, all.
Is it possible to change status(Active/Inactive) of file adapter by the external command?
Let's say, like
"$ switch_file_adapter_status.sh <File Adapter name> <active|inactive>"
or something like that.
Actually, we have the following requirement for the file adapter.
For example, we have many "file adapter to R/3" scenarios and we only want to allow data transfer between 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.(R/3 service time).
In order to achieve this requirement, one option would be to switch file adapter status between active and inactive by external command line.
And this command will be controlled by the job scheduler(like Tivoli).
Does XI(3.0 or above) have this kind of feature?

I don't think that this is possible.
But one Solution for your problem could be a job on xi who execute the Queue.
So that Adapter work the hole time and send the Message to XI Queue which process them not automatically.
And the XI Queue you can trigger with a Job like normal R/3 Jobs.

Thanks for the reply.
I referred the links mentioned by you, but couldn't find anything relevant to re-triggering of Account Generator workflow.
The customizations I did are working fine and is triggering the workflow. But my Question is, what are the circumstances that re-trigger the Account Generator for a given Purchase Order.
To elaborate, say for instance I have created a PO for PO category 'Electrical Equipments' furnishing all other details and charge account is generated for this category, and the PO is saved. Now I come back and change the PO category to 'Medical Equipments' for the same PO, retaining all the other info same.
So here, will the Account generator be re-triggered to generate different charge account?

In HCM form & process Workflow event linkage changed to inactive status.

Hi,
In HCM form & process event linkage is activated in HRASR_DT and workflow object .
Now once we complete the process from EP portal ,reference number is generated and enteries are created in table T5ASRPROCESSES .
In SWEL,event is triggered and linked with the same workflow.
Now the problem is,thesre is no workitem in SWIA with this workflow numbmer and the event linkage also changed to inactive status ( both in proces and workflow )after we complete the process from EP.

When you are delaing workflows with HCM Process and form the behaviour is slightly different from the normal.. In order to check why the event linkage is inactive the possibilities are
1. Either there are some chnages done in the workflow and it is not activated from the transaction HRASR_DT.
2. The other possibility is that you might have directly actovated the workflow from SWDD transaction and if you have done in this way then it is a wrong way of generating and activating the workflow
Follow the below steps to find the error
1. Execute HRASR_DT txn and try to activate the workflow from here. If you try to activate the workflow from this transaction the check function module which is linked to the workflow will be knowing that for which specific process which workflow has to be triggered..
so in HCM process and forms frame workf it is always suggestable that try to create the workflow from HRASR_DT transaction using forward navigation and activate the respective event linkages.
The other point you need to check is make sure that all the respective program exit classesare included in the basic data of the workflow other wise even if you miss the program exit classes in the basic data the workflow will not be able to start its process/execution.

Event Control for Organizational Management
Use
In this IMG activity, you can define whether the events of the event schema for the employee (DEPARTMENT_CHANGED and ADRESS_CHANGED) are to be used. These events are then triggered when the organizational unit or the address data of an employee is changed. Then, depending on the settings in the associated event schema, SRM Alert Management is used to trigger an alert, provided that you have entered the schema.
You maintain this in the IMG activity Define Event Schema.
You can change the event text under Define Events.
Activities
If you want to activate the event schema for the employee, enter the value for the business object Employee (BUS1006003) in the Event Schema field. The default value is MA.
To deactivate it, leave the field empty.

You cannot remove or change the old ID. This is Find My iPhone Activation Lock. You need to recover the credentials for the Apple ID originally used to activate the iPad.

BAPI to read and change schedule lines in APO

Hello experts,
We want to firm schedule lines inside the firm zone of the APO procurement scheduling agreements with a daily job. For this we are trying to use BAPI BAPI_POSRVAPS_GETLIST3 and BAPI_POSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3. The getlist one does not return schedule lines, it returns purchase orders and purchase requisitions. Are these the right bapis to read and change schedule lines in APO? or is there anyother one we can use?

BAPI/FM to change scheduling agreement's delivery status.

Hi All,
I have to check "Delivery completed" indicator of scheduling agreement.
I tried using BAPI_PO_CHANGE but it returns the message below:
"Not possible to process a scheduling agreement using this function"
Is there any other BAPI or FM to change the agreement.
I do not want to use batch-input. But if there is no other option I will.
Note: I am using system 4.6C

I want to know that is enalbe to change schedule line in Scheduling agreement by function( 'BAPI' or Standard function).

The Scheduling agreement is one which is created runing MRP not VA31.
I know that is two transaction data in SAP.
One is Sales Data other one is Purchasing Data.
This is second one.
