Customize X Axis range in Stacked Line Graph

I have built a stacked line graph. The values on x-axis range from 0 to 5,00,000. Howvever when the graph is displayed the maximum range that is shows is around 90,000-1,00,000. Is there a way to select specific values for X-Axis.
Thanks,
Mitiksha

Mike,
It works fine here. Does your current date display properly in the Table where the =NOW() formula is?
Have you tried stretching out your table to make more room for labels?

  • How to set the 4th Y axis color for a line graph

    Hello experts,
I have developed a multiple y axis line graph using oracle reports 10g.
It has got 1 x axis and 4 axes. I am able to set the color of the the first three y axes
but the reports designer automatically assigns yellow color to the 4th axis.
I mean there is no option in the graph wizard for changing the 4th color)
How to change the color of this 4th y axis to a desired color?
    Cheers
    Sri

Assuming you mean that your graph has 4 series, not 4 Y axes, you might try something like this:
    1. Save a backup copy of your current report in case the changes you are about to make don't work out and you want to revert to the backup copy.
    2. Using the Property Inspector, display the current value of the Graph Settings property for your graph. The value of the property should be something like:
    <rw:graph id...
</rw:graph>3. Look for a <SeriesItems> tag and a matching </SeriesItems> tag in the property value. If you don't find them, add the following two lines immediately before the </Graph> tag.
    <SeriesItems>
</SeriesItems>4. Between the <SeriesItems> tag and the matching </SeriesItems> tag, add (or update) a <Series> tag for each series that you want to specify the color for. For example, to specify the color of the fourth series as red, you would use a <Series> tag like this:
<Series id="3" color="#ff0000"/>Note that the id numbers start at 0 for the first series, 1 for the second, and so on. The color value is a hexadecimal number specifying the RGB value of the color.
You can also use the <Series> tag to specify other features like the marker shape.
For more information on what you can do using the Graph Settings property, see this FAQ and Technical Note.
    Hope this helps.

  • Relative Time Scale for X-Axis when creating a Line Graph in CS3?

Is there a way to get the APPROPRIATE RELATIVE scale for the X-Axis (Category) when you're using dates?
    Example:
If this is my data set:
                        Group A          Group B
    01/03/99                1                5
    01/04/99                11                3
    01/05/99                6                12
    11/27/07                63                54
If I plot this in Xcel, by default, each date (x-axis) will be spaced the same distance apart. However, there is a checkbox to "time-scale" the X-Axis which will place the dates relative to one another. In other words, if we're talking about a bar graph, the first three bars would be close together on the left side of the chart, and the 4th bar would be waaaaaay on the right side of the graph.
So, below, if 'x' is a bar, I keep getting this in CS3:
    I want to get this:
    Get it?

  • ADF11g: dvt, line graph x-axis (o1 axis) display issue

    Hi,
In our application we are generating line graphs for a set of data.
This graph is plotted in between 2 sets of numeric values. (one plotted on x-axis and other on y-axis).
For better accuracy of plotted graph we are using these numeric values upto 7 decimal places. (for example 8.1234567)
Now when graph is plotted, then on x-axis (that is o1- axis in case of Line Graph) the tick labels are showing upto 7 decimal places.
Is there any way so that I could control the display of these tick labels to 1 decimal place instead of 7 decimal places?
    More Info:
++The tick labels for x and y axis are generated at runtime by some calculation logic.++
++If we set the tick labels for x axis to 1 decimal place instead of 7 decimal places when they are generated , then this will lead to build in accurate graphs.++
++So we can't control the decimal format of tick labels when they are generated. We need to control it when they are displayed.++
    Please help...
    Thanks and Regards
    Manav Ratra

    Hi Frank,
this is not working :( . It holds good for the case where one has to display markers (tick labels) on the lines of line graph and not the tick labels on the axis.
Moreover here i find out tag as *<dvt:x1Format>*
where as line graphs does not support x1axis they have o1axis .
In my case I need to control display of tick labels on the o1axis.

  • Line Graph x axis tick label date format

    Hi to all,
how can i format the date of the x axis label of a line graph?
by now the date label is shown with a timestamp, e.g. 01.12.11 00:00.
How can i change this to a simple date like 01.12.11?
    Please help. Thank you.
    Best regards
    Gunnar

I would think that the datatype of the date attribute is a TimeStamp ? If yes changing it should help ..

  • ADF Line Graph

    Hello,
I have a graph which i bind to backing bean private List<Object[]> graphTabularData. I am able to get the points from the adf line graph on clickListener only for the data that exist in the private List<Object[]> graphTabularData.
Is it possible to get the x-axis and y-axis values on the line graph where a data point doesn't exist in the private List<Object[]> graphTabularData; so then I can use those points to insert it in the
private List<Object[]> graphTabularData; to create a new point ?
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Valon

    Hi Frank,
I agree with that statement. However, I am not trying to edit data.
I just need to know if it's possible to create a new point in the line graph by clicking on the line where no data points (mapping) exist ?
    Thanks.

I want to display the above data in line stacked bar graph format where the
#Enrolled will be in Stacked Bar by Study -Site ( Y axis)
Planned Subject should represent a single line at 50 ( Y axis)
Group by Year and Month ( X- Axis)
Study excluded ( Study will be selected from dashboard prompt)
I'm getting the stacked view of Study Site ID correctly but I want Single Line for Planned Subject .
Currently I'm getting multiple line .
Eg for 2001/03 I'm getting line at 50 in yellow colour
for 2001/04 I'm getting a line at 150 in different color since it has 3 Study-Site ID's But the desired output is Single Line at 50
As per 11g doc this is not possible because there is some upgradation in the nature of the graph
" Stacked line-bar graphs in which 2 or more measures are shown as lines on the same axis and are not stacked in 10g are stacked in 11g."
    Refer - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e16452/apndx_ui_chngs.htm
Is there any workaround for it ?

Did you found any workaround for it ? I am too looking for same scenerio.

  • The ability to customize line attributes in a line graph (3 series)

    Hello all,
I have a line graph page that plots three lines (series 1, series 2, series 3).
line 1 - upper boundary of a confidence interval
    line 2 - actual estimate
line 3 - lower boundary of a confidence interval
Visualize three lines running along the axis. If the estimate line dips above the upper line or below the lower line, then that would indicate a problem for us to investigate.
It looks pretty but the end user wants the upper and lower boundaries to be 'dotted' lines instead of solid to help differentiate it from the estimate. Currently, I don't have any control over the line attributes using the built in wizard. Anybody know how I could customize the display so that lines 1 and 3 would be dotted while leaving line 2 as a solid line?
    Thanks for any help.

    James -
You are going to need to use Custom XML for this task
This link outlines (among other things) how create a process to create XML to replace the #DATA# in the Custom XML: Re: Chart with 2 Y Axis
In addition to this, the following link is useful in seeing how the page process can work: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:30:4466603909194692:::::&tz=-8:00
Next, you will need to create a new line style in your Custom XML (not the #DATA# tag portion, but the Custom XML of the chart) Here are a couple of references that may help: http://www.anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/xmlReference/index.html and http://www.anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/users-guide/index.html
Once you have defined a style in your custom XML, then your page process will need to make decisions about what style to use and apply the correct style to the appropriate lines.
I know this process is quite confusing at the beginning, however, with a little practice, it becomes much easier.

  • Graph control causes general protection fault when changing axis range (64bit)

    Hello,
i wrote a 32bit application which i'm porting to 64bit now and stumbled across a problem with the graph control.
The Graph axsis are set to editable so that the user can change the axis range manually at runtime. The 32bit version has no problem here, but the 64bit  version is crashing  with a general protection fault at the source line with RunUserInterface().
Is there a compiler option/value or something i should be aware of when swithing to 64bit that should be set?
Or is this just a problem with the code of the control?
    I tried it with LabWindows v13.0.2 (278)  and v13.0.1, running under Windows 7 64bit.
    Thanks.

    Hello, danouj!
Thank you for reporting this issue to us!
However, information you provided is still unsufficient for us to determine the background of this bug.
Please also provide the following details, so that we can identify the issue and investigate whether a workaround for this problem exists:
From my understanding, when porting the application to 64-bit, you also performed some code changes to your CVI application. What are these code changes?
If you run the 64-bit version of your application without these code changes, does the application also crash?
What is the address of this crash?
It would also be very useful, if you can send us a copy of a minimal snapshot of your project application, in which the problem still occurs, for us to investigate the issue.
You can upload the sources at ftp://ftp.natinst.com/incoming

    AND epp.project_role_id = per.id )
    group by pro.project_name,pobj.name,tas.name
    order by pobj.name

Standard syntax on the Mac is Object, Action. The order is always Select an object (in this case, part of a spreadsheet), then perform an action on or with tat object (in this case, make a chart).
The same syntax applies to Copy or Cut (and to Paste, althyough it's not as obvious there—the object is whatever is currently on the Clipboard).
I don't think there is information on printing charts/graphs in the online help. A chart is a graphics object, and is printed as part of the document that contains it. Printing the spreadsheet should also print the chart, provided it is on a page that contains data (AppleWorks's default is to print only the rows and columns that contain data). If you want to print the chart without any of the data, drag the chart over the data to conceal it, and choose the Print options that do not show column or row headers and the cell grid. (These are probably in the AppleWorks options in your Print dialogue, but their position will depend on your print driver.)
Placing the object (the chart) in another document provides an easier method of printing only the chart, and the method you used (dragging the chart from the spreadsheet to the second document is a common and acceptable one. Dragging an object from one document to another places a copy of the object on the second document, and leaves the original on the original document. This is true in general, not just for charts.
In the case of a chart, the copy is a static object, while the original maintains its live connection to the underlying spreadsheet—changing a graphed value in the spreadsheet will change the graph to match the new value, but will not affect the copy in the second document.

  • Line Graph  X-axis Value

    Hi ,
I Created line graph in ADF X axis - date , Y axis Amount and Currency Mixed Frequency Line graph
    For ex : X - axis dates are 01-jan-2011 to 10-jan-2011
y - axis are amount and currency
when i click particular currency line (on 05-jan-2011) how i will get the x axis value 05-jan-2011
    Thanks
    Shk

Check the range against which line is plotted, you may have to reduce that range to see accurate values.

  • X-Axis in Line Graph

I have yet to figure out how to define a data range to use as my x-axis in a line plot. Sure, I could use an XY scatter (that can't have lines) but what if I have 4 Y variables? There is obviously something missing since, if you display the x category labels in the line graph, you get "untitles 1" etc.
    Bug or missing feature?

From what I have found through trial and error, for a line graph, the column you want to be the titles on the X-axis has to be formatted as "text" when you highlight the data to plot. If it is a numeric value, Numbers will treat that column/row as a second series of data rather than X axis labels. Same goes for bar charts. Unfortunately it assumes the data is uniformly distributed so if you want lines connecting points on data with irregularly spaced x-values this sort of chart doesn't seem to be appropriate.
I think they really need to add that functionality to the scatter plots as well.

  • Problem in setting axis(x and y) in line graph

    Hi All,
I have a database table student with two column score(number data type) and "no of student"(number data type). With this table I want a jsp line graph which will describe the student table.Score col would be in X axis and the other one in y axis.I am not able to set score in x axis. I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.
By using scatter graph I am able to set score in x axis and "no of student" in y axis. But my requirement is line graph. So, is there any way to achieve a line graph where score would be in x axis and "no of students" would be in y axis?
Can any body help me regarding this matter?

    Hi,
If you are still looking for the solution to this, you can change the graph to display the way you require.
If you have a graph def file like BIGraphDef1.xml you need to select it in the application navigator. Then in the Structure window select the top level (ex. BIGraph1). This will give you the options available in the property inspector.
If you change the dataRowShownAsASeries from True to False, you should be able to display your data in the line graph.

  • How to display no. of seconds in HH:MM:SS format on Y-Axis in Line Graph

    Hi All,
I have two columns as No. of Seconds and Date.
I want to create a Line Graph with Date on Horizontal Axis (X - Axis) and, on Vertical Axis (Y - Axis) I want to represent the No. of Seconds as HH:MM:SS format.
For example, If the DB returns No. of Seconds as 93, I want to get it on Vertical Axis as 00:01:33 (00 hours, 01 Minute, 33 seconds), If it is 145 seconds , I want to get it as 00:02:25....etc.
Can anyone please help me on this ?

Srini VEERAVALLI I already used this code and I'm getting HH:MM:SS format in Table View, but my requirement is I need to represent the HH:MM:SS format on Vertical Axis in Graph View. In Graph View by default it's considering No. of Seconds only.....

  • How do you switch the x and y axis in a line graph?

I am fairly new with this program and I need to make a line graph for a science lab report. For the lab, we needed to use a certain amount of water, which was 20 ml, 40 ml, 60 ml, then 80 ml, and we needed to measure the mass of different substances if they had the given values of the volume, and compare their mass and volume in a line graph.
Therefore, the graph that I need to create requires a constant 4 steps, which are always 20 ml, 40 ml, 60 ml, and 80 ml, for all of the four substances I used during the experiment. That needs to be on the y axis. I need to have the mass of the substances on the x axis, but no matter what I have tried I cannot seem to switch the x and y axis...how can I do that?

    Nevermind I figured it out
