Customized Acrobat 11 installer fails on Mac OS 10.8.2

We created a customized installer for Acrobat 11 using the Adobe Customization Wizard for Macintosh. The resulting .pkg installer installed successfully on three Macs (two on 10.8.2 and one on 10.7.5) but the installer fails on the fourth machine, which is running 10.8.2. It appears that Acrobat installs into the Applications folder, but when I try to run it, a prompt pops up to register with an Adobe ID. This shouldn't be happening, given the settings for the installer:
•Accept End User License Agreement
•Disable Registration
•Grant Offline Exception (we have a volume serial number)
The three machines that we ran the installer successfully on have had no problems...Acrobat launches without any request for registration.

Any suggestions what the problem could be or what the fix is? Running the standard installer is not an ideal solution, since we intend to push Acrobat 11 out to over 300 machines.

Installation Failed on Mac for version 11.7

I tried to upgrade to latest version... should have left well enough alone. Flash Player version 11.6 worked just fine. Now I've done a complete uninstall, tried all troubleshooting suggestions on Adobe site, did restarts after each attempt... all with the same results: "Installation failed" error after 7%-13% of installation. I've even tried to reinstall older version, but cannot unzip file to installable format. If I can locate 11.6 that is not archived, I'll just use that one. I've spent the last couple of hours with this and am totally frustrated. I am on a Mac OS X 10.6.8, 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 64 bit.... I need HELP!!!

Native application installer fails on Mac 10.5.8 every other time

Hello,
I have a native AIR 2.0 application with a native installer which I silently install as a part of a bigger package.
On Mac, I have a DMG which contains the native installer app and a shell script which copies the native installer app into a temporary folder, and then invokes it passing "-silent" option.
For some reasons the native installer fails every other time, i.e. if I install the app and then move it to trash and then try to re-install, the installer fails.
However if I try re-installing once again, installation succeeds. I can consistently reproduce this problem.
This seems to happen only on Mac OS 10.5.8. On 10.6.0 and above everything seems to work fine.
What can be the reason for such inconsistent behavior?
OS version is Mac OS 10.5.8, CPU: 2.8GHz Intel Core Duo

The only argument I pass into the installer command line is "-silent", i.e. the command line looks like
"/tmp/PixelNovel/Install Timeline.app/Contents/MacOS/Install Timeline" -silent
I've noticed that the installer fails only if it's called from a wrapper package. If I invoke the above command line directly from Terminal, the installer consistently succeeds.

acrobat installer just says..... checking download...

The download can take a long time (about 450 MB or so). An alternative is to download from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html.

Bundle runtime installer fail in mac os

I made dmg file, which contain air runtime for mac os, my air
application and .airinstall.cfg to include the relative
path.(./myapp.air)
When I double click the air runtime, it installs only air run
time. It doesn’t install my air application simultaneously
.So I have to manually install my application.
But it is working well for XP and some setting. But it
won’t work for Mac os.

We have received reports of this behaviour, but have been unable to reproduce. To by pass the online installer you can use the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page.

Installation fails on Mac Mini (Late '06)

I have a Mac Mini (Late 2006, Macmini1,1, MA608LL/S) OS X with 10.6.8.
On installing OSX Server 10.6, all system reqmt's are met (2GB RAM, freshly formatted 80Gb disk),
but I got error message: "Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer."
The HD is correctly formatted:
Partition Map Scheme: GUID Partition Table
Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Any ideas?

It seems as if your hardware does meet the requirements. However you've neglected to mention what error message (exactly) you see when trying to upgrade.

Installation failed on Mac OS X.6.4

Has anyone been able to get the Illustrator CS5 HTML5 Pack working? I made several attempts to set it up on Mac running OS X.6.4. I moved the folders over as described. I launched Illustrator, but it crashes going through the start-up screen running through plug-ins and extensions.

I might have found the answer. I manually updated Illustrator to 15.0.1. It still didn't work.
However, I had been moving files around using Pathfinder.

When I used Pathfinder to view contents and move the new AdobeSVGExport.framework folder and tried to start Illlustrator it would crash. If I moved the folder using Finder, it worked!
So, don't use Pathfinder to move hidden files around. I ended up just using Finder to move all files just to be on the safe side, but I did troubleshoot the situation and narrowed it down to only the hidden files moved via Pathfinder that caused the problem. My tipoff was when Pathfinder required me to enter my admin username and password to proceed.

Acrobat Installation fail

I've downloaded Acrobat Pro XI, and when I open the app, the license agreement pops up, but it is blank and there is no text and nothing happens when I click the "accept" button. It will go away if I hit "quit." So the program will not open. I've unistalled it an installed it twice now and the same thing has happened both times. I'm a new member and have successfully installed several other programs, but Acrobat XI won't work. Help!

Installation failed in Mac air

I have downloaded mountain lion and try to install in my Macbook air (bought last year, with lion). But after several minute, it ends up with the warning that I need to shut down and reboot, after reboot, the same message! After trying several times, I am tied and try to use the the original U disk to recover to previous OS but it still shows the same warning....
I installed the 10.8 in my iMac which was bought in 2008 and succeed! Can anyone help? Thank!

I would try resetting the PRAM by restarting your computer while simultaneously holding down the Command-Option-P-R keys until the computer restarts a second time. That may solve it.

Installation of the GPIB drivers gives a few errors, but the process completes.
NI-VISA (4.5.1 I think) installation fails on Mac OSX 10.6.1 right at the end. I am using the LabVIEW 2009 Evaluation dmg.
NI-VISA Configuration tool quits upon launch.

Officially we have not announced when Snow Leopard will be fully supported. I understand that it is a very nice operating system and you would like to use it, but because of the system architechture changes, we have not fully tested everything. I recommend going here and clicking on this space indicated in the picture to file a product suggestion. The more of these that come in, the quicker this will be addressed.

Acrobat 10 Professional/Standard Custom Action Installation Errors

Hi,
i am getting some strange installation errors on several of our machines, during the installation of Acrobat Pro/Standard. The OS is Windows 7 32Bit.
The error gets raised by a custom action (install port scan) of the msi. The error also occurs during uninstall, and shows up as a pop up which says "installation failed", no further description in the message box. After confirming the message box, the installation proceeds normal und succeeds.
The problem is, that the message box cant be suppressed by a silent install, /qb-! /qn switches are not helping either, so the SCCM deployment of the package will time out and leave the installation in a undefined state.
Does anyone know what this custom action is doing and what the reason for this error could be?

I have exactly the same problem. Just downloaded FrameMaker 10 from the Adobe website. Trying to install on 64-bit Windows 7.

While it's probably not the cause, if I'm being totally honest, trying to use a temp directory under Program Files is a pretty dumb thing to do.

thanks for the prompt response...i appreciate it. according to the link you listed, that's correct. the strange thing is that prior to the upgrad to mac os 10.8.4, photoshop CS5 was working just fine and i was able to open my canon raw files with my current camera raw plug-in version 6.7 which adobe has indicated is the last camera raw update they'll be offering for cs 5
so it's clearly an issue related to the "upgrade" of the os. seems like every solution creates 6 new problems...further evidence for the notion that if it ain't broke don't fix it! thanks again.
