I lost all of my purchased alert and ringtones from my iPhone and iTunes has them ghosted but they are on my other devices. I purchased another alert tone just now, it appeared for a moment on the phone then gone! Help please.

    What do you mean recover?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
I for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:
    File>Transfer Purchases
Unlike music/movies/videos you can redownload apps.

  • Creating ringtone for iphone

    Hello,
I created a ringtone for an iphone and cannot get it to the ringtones on the phone. IF this is a Garageband issue can someone please help?
I created the file and saved to my desktop. (The phone I want the ringtone on is not my phone so I could not "share" with my itunes) I was able to send this file to the person that needs it and was able to download to their itunes. I then was able to move it to the iphone ringtones on the phone when it is sync'd to itunes. But, when I go looking for it on the phone, I can only find it on the ipod part of phone.
Did i do something wrong in Garageband or do I need to take this to iphone forum?
    Thanks
    Jim

You don't need to move it to the iphone ringtones , you can directly Click "Share" on the menu bar and select "Send Ringtone to iTunes".

  • Can't create Ringtone for iPhone

everytime I click on the ringtone symbol next to the song I want, it says that I need to accept the iTunes Store Terms of Service and that by clicking 'OK' it will direct me to that. Thing is, I've already accepted that and when I click OK, it does nothing. It's becoming a real pain..any ideas?

I sent iTunes support a note about that and although they didn't answer my question directly, they got me around it. For what's worth, it did work; however, now I have a new problem. Long story short, don't create more than one ring tone for now. I'll post my crap about that momentarily...
    Here's what they wrote:
First I want you to try to create a ringtone with the following steps:
    1) If you haven't already, upgrade to the latest version of iTunes, which is available free of charge on the iTunes website:
    http://www.itunes.com/download
    2) Open iTunes, access the iTunes Store, and look at a few songs. A bell icon next to a song indicates that you can make a ringtone from the song. The bell icon does not mean that the song itself is a ringtone. If you do not see any bell icons, choose View > View Options, select the Ringtone checkbox, and click OK. A ringtone column will appear and any eligible songs will have bells next to them. Purchase any ringtone-eligible song you like.
    3) Now click Purchased in the list on the left. If you do not see any bell icons, choose View > View Options, select the Ringtone checkbox, and click OK.
    4) Click the bell next to a song to begin making a ringtone. The ringtone editor will appear at the bottom of the iTunes window.
    5) Adjust the highlighted area to choose the part of the song (up to 30 seconds) you want to use as your ringtone. You can also choose to fade in or out the audio by clicking the checkboxes in the highlighted area.
    6) Select a "Looping" length, which will set the gap between each ring. Click Preview to hear your ringtone before purchasing. Once you're satisfied with your ringtone, click Buy. Your iTunes Store account will be charged 99 cents plus any applicable taxes. Any song credits or video credits that may be on your account will not be used toward the purchase.
    7) Your ringtone will appear in your iTunes library Ringtones playlist on the left side of the iTunes window.
    8) To sync the ringtone to your iPhone, connect your iPhone to your computer. In iTunes, select your iPhone on the left and click Sync. iTunes will automatically sync any ringtones you create. To sync specific ringtones, with the iPhone selected on the left, click the Ringtones tab, choose Selected ringtones, and click Apply. Check the ringtones you want to sync and click Sync.
Please note that any ringtones you have previously synced to your iPhone will be replaced with the ringtones that you are currently syncing from your authorized iTunes library.
To set a ringtone as your default ringtone, go to the Home screen on your iPhone. Tap the Settings icon, then tap Sounds. Tap Ringtone, then choose a ringtone. This will become your default ringtone.
To assign a ringtone to a specific contact, go to the Home screen on your iPhone. Tap the the Phone icon, then go to your Contacts. Choose a contact, then tap Ringtone and choose the ringtone. When that contact calls, you will hear that ringtone.
Please note that iTunes creates ringtones for iPhone only, and the ringtones you create with your iTunes Store account may not be transferred to other accounts. Also note that even if you create a ringtone from iTunes Plus (DRM-free) content, the purchased ringtone will include DRM-protection.

  • Ringtones for Iphone 4

can't find the duplicate version of my shortened song for the ringtone. It used to work for Iphone 3, I don't know what happened. My import settings are set for AAC, I don't know what's wrong. How can I get those settings back? When I click "convert to AAC version" , I can hear the little chime that lets me know the conversion was happening, but it doesn't show the song under the regular song after it's done converting. Any information will be appreciated, thanks.

You know, you can create ringtones for iPhone in iTunes. I can't seem to find my duplicate version of the song (the song in so many seconds ). They tell you to do the AAC conversion and click okay and you should see a duplicate of the song underneath. If you look up "How to make ringtones for iphone" in google, you'll understand what I'm saying. It's fairly easy. I just can't find my converted version.

  • How do I do use the custom code and format for a percentage with 2 decimals in Report Builder 3.0?

In Report Builder 3.0, I have the following custom code entered:
Public Function SafeDivide(Numerator as String, Denominator as String) as String
    Try
    If Numerator = “” or Denominator = “” then
    Return “-“
    End if
    If Numerator = “-“ or Denominator = “-“ then
    Return “-“
    End If
    If CDbl(Numerator) =0 or CDbl(Denominator) = 0 then
    Return “-“
    End if
    If IsNothing(Numerator) or IsNothing(Denominator) then
    Return "-"
    End if
    Return Val( ( (CDbl(Numerator) / CDbl(Denominator) )*100 ) )
    Catch
    Return "-"
    End Try
    End Function
I call the custom code in the cell with the following equation:
      =Code.SafeDivide(sum(Fields!TY_UNITS.Value)-sum(Fields!LY_UNITS.Value),sum(Fields!LY_UNITS.Value))
I have the format for the cell set to 0.00%, but it’s not being followed.
I want the result to be formatted as a Percentage, but instead I get values like:
    -78.9473684210
    80
    300
    -100
I have the format for the cell set to 0.00%, but it’s not being followed.
How do I do use the custom code and format for a percentage with 2 decimals?

    Hi AngP,
After testing the issue in my local environment, I can reproduce it. Based on my research, I find this issue is caused by the type of Units_VAR_Percentage cell is string, while the type of CDbl(Parameters!Var_Threshold.Value) is double, so they cannot be
    compared.
To fix this issue, we can add a hidden column (Textbox91) next to the Units_VAR_Percentage column, and type =(sum(Fields!TY_UNITS.Value)-sum(Fields!LY_UNITS.Value)) /sum(Fields!LY_UNITS.Value) as the expression. Then use the expression below to control the
    BackgroundColor:
    =iif(iif(reportitems!Units_VAR_Percentage.Value=CStr(format(reportitems!Textbox91.Value,"0.00%")),reportitems!Textbox91.Value,0)>CDbl(Parameters!Var_Threshold.Value),"Yellow","PaleTurquoise")
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Can you make custom ringtone for iPhone 4 w/o using iTunes?

My computer crashed and I had to redownload iTunes and all my music the other day. I plugged my iPhone 4 in to put a custom ringtone I made in iTunes on it and it says it wants to "erase and sync" my phone since it was connected to my old iTunes. Is there a way to fix this or is there a way to make a new custom ringtone for my iphone without using iTunes?

    about backup http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
you're better off creating new ringtones.  Take a look at the first link I gave you, that will answer all your questions.

  • Creating a ringtone for iPhone using Garageband 3.0.4?

    Is this possible?
I have just created a 25 Second track, and shared with my iTunes. However, I cannot move it to my ringtones folder?
It's saved by default as (.aif) in iTunes, I have converted it to AAC (.m4a) but still will not go into my ringones folder.
Can anything be done? I'm in the UK and ringtones have not been launched for purchase on iTunes yet.

Turn the .m4v suffix to .m4r.
(And search the iPhone forum for "ringtones", you get very detailed instructions there, rather than in this forum.)

  • OSX Lion and exporting for iPhone

There was a thread about how when trying to set and/or publish for iPhone or edit its settings, Flash CS5 immediately crashes. The problem has been experienced by many Mac OSX Lion users and they talked about it in this unresolved thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/888198#3851750 but still no updates from Adobe. Adobe sent me a response to my Support ticket that "it's an Actionscript 3 coding issue" then closed it so I couldn't reply. Ummmm, NO it isn't a coding issue, I tried to export an FLA file with no code in it. That's a really bad way to do business, Adobe. But since they're not going to be helpful (and probably lose me as a customer) has anyone else found a workaround for this?

    ccroo wrote:
The aspect ratio of the iphone screen is 480 x 320, but that size is not an option when exporting for iPhone using Compressor. You have to use a custom setting.
    Why is this the case?
You have to understand that the Apple-provided presets are good launching points, not end-all, be-all settings.
And iPhones do support material encoded as 640 pixels wide so the preset for VGA (up to 640x480) works fine for most people. I personally rarely use anything smaller than the VGA setting for Apple Devices as I find that's the perfect middle ground for iPods, iPhones and AppleTV.
If you (understandably) need to limit your file and frame sizes, adjusting the device setting in Compressor to iPhone (Local/WiFi) does the trick - fitting your movie into a 480 pixel-wide frame size and capping the video data rate at 1000 Kbps.
Letterboxing - as in hard mattes - is not needed when encoding for Apple Devices. In fact, if you have letterboxing in your source media, use the Geometry pane to crop out the Letterbox Area of Source. That will provide you with a better quality encode and the preset will know to adjust your output frame size, so you need not worry about distorting your movie.

All depends on how many people are accessing Apple's servers.  You'll find slow downs in the next few days at least.  Everyone is updating.  Personally, I don't do the download and install in iTunes.  I just download the new iOS on to my computer.  Then once that's done, I'll do the update directly from my computer using the ispw file I just downloaded.  Much faster, no worries of server crashes while updating.

  • New stock ringtones for iPhone?

Does anyone know if there is a web app. or download for new stock ringtones for the iPhone? Not sound effects(like the ones that come on new iPhones) or musical tones. Just plain old standard cell phone ringtones. Such as the ringtone heard in the first TV commercial for the iPhone.

    Have a look at these.
    http://homepage.mac.com/mrdeighton/filechute/Apple%20Ringtone.m4r
    http://homepage.mac.com/mrdeighton/filechute/iPhone%20Ringtones.zip
Just click on the links and they'll download automatically. The first one is my approximation of the ringtone used on the iPhone add the others are various ringtones from other makes of mobile. I'll be taking these of my iDisk soon so get em quick.
