  • Mail folders gone?

Well, did the Lion. Lion might have done me. All my mail folders are gone. Any ideas?

Sorry, I rushed it...! They are all there, I just missed the button to let them show - that one is invisible and becomes usable only on hovering!
    So long...! :-)

  • All Mac Mail Folders GONE

When I started up my MacPro today, all my 100  MacMail folders are gone! Only got the messages in my In-box, the rest of all folders in the left bar just vanished. What happened, anyone??

Have you changed any account information in the Internet Accounts panel? I had odd behaviour and lost mail so I reinstalled and let migration handle the accounts. That seems to have fixed the problem. Now I'm not touching the internet accounts or Mail's accounts preferences (at least until 10.9.1).
BTW, my Console.app showed errors (null pointers) traversing mailboxes. Perhaps have a look in your Console, clear the display and then start Mail.app. See if there are any errors reading mail. You might need to start fresh.
The only problem I'm currently experiencing is imap synching for 10 minutes every time Mail starts up, despite my having set "check mail" to manual. I'm not sure if that's normal for IMAP accounts, but Snow Leopard didn't spend all its time re-synchronizing.

  • Creating Custom Mail Folders

Is there a way to add folders to personalize/categorize mail by a specific folder, i.e., work, Joe-Bob?
    Thank you.

This can be done with an IMAP account - creating a server stored mailbox for the account with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account. All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account will be available automatically when accessing the account with the iPhone's Mail client with all server stored mailboxes kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account.
This is not possible with a POP account.

  • Windows Mail Folders gone in Mac Mail after using migration assistant

I purchased a MacBook Air for my husband and used Migration assistant to transfer all of his files from his PC running Vista. It looked like everything was fine, but when I opened Mac mail, the only messages that were in there was what was in his inbox, junk and trash. Where are all of the folders from Windows Mail he had created? Please help!

Mac migration does not always work with Cloud programs

    Buffzap,
Make sure that you choose Mail>View>Show Mailbox List, then hover your cursor over one of the subordinate mailbox categories, and you should see "Show." Next click on "Show."

  • Rules for exchange folders in mac mail are gone at regular intervals

I have some problems with mac mail and my exchange account.
At regular intervals my mail doesn't show my mails in my mail folders. Than I have to restart mail and those mails are back again. But then I have to set destination folders for each rule and for each shortcut in mail again.

Why would I go to the Microsoft Community when I'm asking specifically for an answer to how much is left to download in my mail account in the Mac Mail App Officially from Apple?
To speed things up, where's the "Items downloading, items remaining, and total items in Mailbox" for iCloud Accounts in Apple's Offical Mail Mac App?

  • Apple Mail has gone completely screwy since Mavericks upgrade

    Hi everyone...
I truly feel like crying. I upgraded to Mavericks on both my main desktop and also my laptop and it seems that all of my mail on both the Desktop and the laptop has gone completely topsy turvy in Apple Mail. It seems like a lot of my messages are being routed in a completely different way! And most of them are simply disappearing to goodness knows where!
Why on earth when I send a message to my home email address at **@att.net does it land up in my Gmail Archived folder under one of Gmail's All Mail folders (for one of my Gmail accounts) even tho' I did NOT send to a Gmail account?
So many strange things are happening! And most of them are concering this "Archive" folder for Gmail.....SO MANY of my emails are being dumped into those Gmail ALL Mail folders when they were not even addressed to a Gmail account!! This is happening on both my laptop AND my main desktop...so I know that it is not just on one of the stations.
Also, I have been getting notifications on my phone of LOTS of messages that have been sent my way but they are not appearing in my mail app...and when I search for them I cannot find them...as if these messages have just vanished!
I cannot have this happen because I am now missing out on all of my work emails!
I have been sending a bunch of test messages to my **@chgraphicdesigns.com.account and I will see the message pop into the INBOX for just a second and then suddenly disappear. I am not able to find these test messages by doing a search for them either. What has happened to them?? I am now missing a TON of work emails I received earlier today...I had seen notification of them popping in throughout the day but was going to attend to them later due to a huge project I was working on...but now those emails are nowehere to be found!
I turned off Mail and tried out Thunderbird and that is working PERFECTLY, so it is just Apple Mail that is having all of these issues. This is just awful:(( It is so messed up I literally want to cry. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Thank you so much for your help in advance:)

I have managed to restore many of my emails from Time Machine, manually re-created many of my original mailboxes and re-populated them with the restored mail messages but after doing so I discovered another bug with the latest version of the Mavericks/Mail combo.  The bug that I am experiencing is that some of the emails in my folders are "invisible" when I open the folder and can only be located using a spotlight search within that mailbox for a term that occurs within the "invisible" email, at which time the previously "invisible" email is viewable but only in the results that the Spotlight search brought up.  When I close the Spotlight results, the email goes back to being "invisible" again in the mailbox from which it is identified as having come from.  I know that Spotlight ios not pulling it from some other mailbox that I might have accidentally placed it in, as Spotlight's search results indicate which mailbox the message was found in.  I never would have discovered this bug if it weren't for the fact that I was trying to locate a message that I knew to exist because I had previously printed a hard copy.  The date shown on my hard copy was non-existent on any messages in the mailbox unless I did a spotlight search for unique phrases in it, at which time it showed up.  Has anyone else noticed this problem happening to them?

  • Cannot open your default e-mail folders. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost)

Fresh installation of Exchange Server 2013 on Windows Server 2012.
Our first test account cannot access their email via Outlook but can access fine through OWA. The following message appears - "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize
your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost)" is displayed.
If I turn off cached Exchange mode, setting the email account to not
cache does not resolve the issue and i get a new error message - "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file (path\profile name).ost is not an Outlook data file (.ost). Very odd since it creates its own .ost file when you run it for the first
    time.
I cleared the appdata local Outlook folder and I tested on a new laptop that has never connected to Outlook, same error message on any system.
Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service is running.
No warning, error or critical messages in the eventlog, it's like the healthiest server alive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I haven't encountered this issue with previous versions of Exchange.

So it looks like a lot of people are having this issue and seeing how Exchange 2013 is still new (relatively to the world) there isn't much data around to answer this. I've spend ALOT of time trying to figure this out.
Here is the answer. :) - No I don't know all but I'm going to try to give you the most reasonable answer to this issue, in a most logical way.
First thing I did when I was troubleshooting this issue is that I ignored Martina Miskovic's suggestion for Step4 http://technet.microsoft.com/library/jj218640(EXCHG.150)because it didn't make sense to me because I was trying to connect
Outlook not outside the LAN but actually inside. However, Martina's suggestion does fix the issue if it's applied in the correct context.
This is where the plot thickens (it's stew). She failed to mention that things like SSL (which I configure practically useless - anyone who ever worked in a business environment where the owner pretty much trusts anyone in the company, otherwise they don't
work there - very good business practice in my eyes btw, can confirm that...) are some sort of fetish with Microsoft lately. Exchange 2013 was no exception.
In exchange 2003, exchange 2007 and exchange 2010 - you could install it and then go to outlook and set it up. And when outlook manual Microsoft Exchange profile would ask you for server name, you would give it and give the name of the person who you setting
up - as long as machine is on the domain, not much more is needed. IT JUST WORKS! :) What a concept, if the person already on premises of the business - GIVE HIM ACCESS. I guess that was too logical for Microsoft. Now if you're off premises you can use things
like OutlookAnywhere - which I might add had their place under that scenario.
In Exchange 2013, the world changed. Ofcourse Microsoft doesn't feel like telling it in a plain english to people - I'm sure there is an article somewhere but I didn't find it. Exchange 2013 does not support direct configuration of Outlook like all of it's
previous versions. Did you jaw drop? Mine did when I realized it. So now when you are asked for your server name in manual outlook set up and you give it Exchange2013.yourdomain.local - it says cannot connect to it. This happens because ALL - INTERNAL AND
EXTERNAL connection are now handled via OutlookAnywhere. You can't even disable that feature and have it function the reasonable way.
So now the question still remains - how do you configure outlook. Well under server properties there is this nice section called Outlook anywhere. You have a chance to configure it's External and Internal address. This is another thing that should be logical
but it didn't work that way for me. When I configured the external address different from the internal - it didn't work. So I strongly suggest you get it working with the same internal address first and then ponder how you want to make it work for the outside
    users.
Now that you have this set up you have to go to virtual directories and configure the external and internal address there - this is actually what the Step 4 that Martina was refering to has you do.
Both external and internal address are now the same and you think you can configure your outlook manually - think again. One of the most lovely features of Outlook Anywhere, and the reason why I had never used it in the past is that it requires a TRUSTED
    certificate.
See so it's not that exchange 2013 requires a trusted certificate - it's that exchange 2013 lacks the feature that was there since Windows 2000 and Exchange 5.5.
So it's time for you to install an Active Direction Certificate Authority. Refer to this wonderful article for exact steps - http://careexchange.in/how-to-install-certificate-authority-on-windows-server-2012/
Now even after you do that - it won't work because you have to add the base private key certificate, which you can download now from your internal certsrv site, to Default Domain Policy (AND yes some people claim NEVER mess with the Default Domain Policy,
always make an addition one... it's up to you - I don't see direct harm if you know what you want to accomplish) see this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc738131%28v=ws.10%29.aspx if you want to know exact steps.
This is the moment of ZEN! :) Do you feel the excitement? After all it is your first time. Before we get too excited lets first request and then install the certificate to actual Exchange via the gui and assign it to all the services you can (IIS, SMTP and
there is a 3rd - I forgot, but you get the idea).
Now go to your client machine where you have the outlook open, browse to your exchange server via https://exchang2013/ in IE and if you don't get any certificate errors - it's good. If you do run on hte client and the server: gpupdate /force This will refresh
the policy. Don't try to manually install the certificate from Exchange's website on the client. If you wanna do something manually to it to the base certificate from the private key but if you added it to the domain policy you shouldn't have to do it.
Basically the idea is to make sure you have CA and that CA allows you to browse to exchange and you get no cert error and you can look at the cert and see that's from a domain CA.
NOW, you can configure your outlook. EASY grasshoppa - not the manual way. WHY? Cause the automatic way will now work. :) Let it discover that exachange and populate it all - and tell you I'm happy! :)
Open Outlook - BOOM! It works... Was it as good for you as it was for me?
You may ask, why can't I just configure it by manual - you CAN. It's just a nightmare. Go ahead and open the settings of the account that got auto configed... How do you like that server name? It should read something like [email protected]
and if you go to advanced and then connection tab - you'll see Outlook Anywhere is checked as well. Look at the settings - there is the name of the server, FQDN I might add. It's there in 2 places and one has that Mtdd-something:Exchange2013.yourdomain.local.
So what is that GUID in the server name and where does it come from. It's the identity of the user's mailbox so for every user that setting will be different but you can figure it out via the console on the Exchange server itself - if you wish.
Also a note, if your SSL certs have any trouble - it will just act like outlook can't connect to the exchange server even though it just declines the connection cause the cert/cert authority is not trusted.
So in short Outlook Anywhere is EVERYWHERE! And it has barely any gui or config and you just supposed to magically know that kind of generic error messages mean what... Server names are now GUIDs of the [email protected] - THAT MAKES PERFECT
SENSE MICROSOFT! ...and you have to manage certs... and the only place where you gonna find the name of the server is inside the d*** Outlook Anywhere settings in the config tab, un it's own config button - CAN WE PUT THE CONFIG ANY FURTHER!
Frustrating beyond reason - that should be Exchange's new slogan...
Hope this will help people in the future and won't get delete because it's bad PR for Microsoft.
    PS
ALSO if you want to pick a fight with me about how SSL is more secure... I don't wanna hear it - go somewhere else...

  • Two copies of the same mail folders / Problem with TimeMachine backup

I have two copies of the same IMAP mail folders in my library
    1. ~/Library/Mail (actual version)
    2. ~/Library/Mail/V2 (old version)
I guess this is the reason why my TimeMachine does not backup the emails (it only backups the folder with only one version in folder "V2")
How can I resolve this problem ?
    Manny thanks,
    Ole

buddy.....I've tried urs suggestion, but now it is showing two quotations(easily adjustible in 2 pages) on 3 pages. I've tried Page Protect to set to No for all the repeating frames and fixed the horizontal & vertical length of all repeating frames.
plzzz let me to describe my report more deeply, it picks data from two tables, one master table containing quotation#,customer-id, date.2nd block contains details about repairing items. so all the data is in two
repeating frames which can be easily printed in half page. 2nd copy of this quotation will also print on the same page in the lower half portion of a page.
    is it enough for u????
still if u peeps have any problem in understanding my problem then I think u peeps should have a look on my quotation report so that u may have a better idea of this problem.

  • Issue with emails being deleted from my Yahoo mail folders

Hi, I am experiencing an issue where emails are being deleted from my Yahoo mail folders when the weekly Sunday night purge of the Yahoo Trash folder is carried out by Yahoo. These are mails that have been moved from my inbox via the iphone mail app.
I have a similar problem with Outlook 2010 on my laptop but not with Outlook 2003 on my desktop.
When I move the emails from my inbox I have noticed that using Outlook 2003, the moved email is left in my inbox in "strikethrough" mode whereas on Outlook 2010 it is deleted from my inbox. I subsequently purge the marked email from my inbox in 2003.
I am able to see and access the emails in the folder I have moved them to until after midnight on Sunday when they dissappear. The emails moved via 2003 are ok and not lost.
Funnily enough when using an earlier version of the iphone mail app I remember that I could see emails in "strikethrough" mode in Outlook 2003 when they had been moved via the iPhone mail app but you don't see that now.
It feels like some sort of pointer issue to me ...... any ideas on how to stop this happening?.

This is now fixed !!!! I am not sure how though :-((
I reported the problem to Yahoo and in the process of them investigating the issue my sub-folders suddenly became invisible via my IMAP connection and then also were invisible on-line following a log out and a log in. After my initial panic, I contacted Yahoo who were able to restore my complete account. Since then, the problem has gone away.
I have been testing this for two weeks and all is working perfectly from whatever device I use to connect to my mail (IMAP or via my browser).
    Phew!

  • How can I create additional "Sent Mail" folders so that I can organize my sent mail along the same lines as the inbox? I use Mail v 4.5

How can I create additional or sub "Sent Mail" folders so that I can organize my sent mail along the same lines as the inbox? I use Mail v 4.5.

Thank you for your reply Don, but I had already gone through that procedure and it will only create new mailboxes for received mail. I want to create new mailboxes for sent mail, i.e. the first column being "to" not "from". Under the Mailbox menus there is an option "Use This Mailbox For" but all the options under that (including Sent) are greyed out. Unfortunately the View/Columns option to change from "From" to "To" changes all mailboxes not just the active one.

  • ICloud + Apple mail; can I see content in mail folders on my mac?

Question for those who know iCloud.
If I am using iCloud + Apple mail; can I see content in mail folders on my mac?
Have 2 email accounts currently (yahoo and gmail), and use smart rules to move my email to them for organization automatically, issue is then I cannot see them on my iPhone mail, they are there, then "gone" when moved to the iMac folder.
    https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-MltXmqSQAXI/UkjrwPwtQmI/AAAAAAAAQk8/qwuOU7FFj dI/s720/iMac%2520mail.jpg

I don't see any evidence of an iCloud account there - do you actually have an @icloud.com address? iCloud syncs only its own email, it has no relationship to any other service.
However, if both your Mac and your iPhone are receiving, for example, Gmail, and you move a message on your Mac from the Gmail mailbos to a mailbox in the list under 'On My Mac' then this removes it from the GMail mailbox and as it's only on the Mac the iPhone cannot see it. In order to do what you want you have to create any new mailboxes on the GMail account itself and move the messages there.

  • Mail folders turning white and empty of messages

I was rearranging a couple mail folders in our mail program Version 2.1.3 (753.1), and at some point in time I noticed a folder was white instead of blue and all the messages I had saved inside it were gone, as well as the messages inside the blue folders within the white folder. Please help me find them, as they are very meaningful (all are congratulations from friends and family on our engagement and wedding while we were living very far away...) Thanks.

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
