Customized name for report instances under publication (BOXI 3.1)

Hi All,
Is a there any way to have custom name for the report instances under publication history (default enterprise location). I can see we can customize report instance names using placeholders if destination is email or local drive or enterprise inbox, but doesn't have similar option under publication history.
Basically we have a Agency Report which has to be distributed to individual agencies through email while another copies will be maintained under publication history. But unfortunately there is no way (as it seems to me) to find out which report instance is for which agency (unless one manually opens and checks the report).
So my query to you is that, is there any work around to customize report instances name under publication history.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Mukesh

Hi,
My client has exactly the same requirement; for instances/documents to be published to default location with custom instance and document names.
I'm really struggling to find any built in capability to do this however I hope I'm wrong on this!
At the moment I'm writing a publication extension to do this but again I hope this isn't necessary!
Does anyone know if this is possible?

  • How to display custom names for attributes in JSP pages

I would like to use custom names for my attributes in Struts JSP table headers.
For example, if the database table named "Country" has a column CNT_ID and BC4J wizard mapped it into an Entity Object's attribute "CntId" I would like to display it as "Country ID" in my JSP table header.
Now, I suppose the place to try this is probably in DataEditComponent.jsp, DataQueryComponent.jsp etc., and probably has smthg to do with jbo:AttributeIterate, but I still can't figure how to achieve this...
    I use JDev 9.0.3

    Kresimir,
It's not clear from your posting whether you've worked out how to do what you want with control hints, so just in case, here's how:
    - In the navigator, select your entity object or your view object
    - In the structure pane, double-click the attribute you want to edit (CntId)
    - In the attribute editor, select the control hints page
    - In the Label Text field, type the text you want to use for your label (Country). Click OK.
    Hope this helps

  • Custom name for Timer thread?

Thread has the usefull setName() method to set a custom name for a Thread. Timer doesn't have such a method but a Timer is itself a Thread. How can I set a custom name for a Timer thread?

Yes, very usefull for debugging, e.g. when running mutliple threads in an IDE, you can easily identify the thread to continue to inspect without inspecting the threads content/attributes.
But also for logging: for a multithreaded server application having a log file, each thread can log messages to the log file (standard Java logging API). To be able to assign the messages to each thread, the thread name can be used as the message prefix.

  • Possible to update report instances in publications?

    Product: Crystal Reports Server 2008
    Version: 12.1.0.882
I haven't been using the server for very long, so excuse me if the answer to this question is more obvious than it seems...
We have built a variety of report publications using individual Crystal slides. All souce slides are stored on the server. It seems that updates to the slides (new parameters, changed filters, etc.) do not propagate to the instances of the slides contained within publications. The only way I can get a publication to "recognize" the changes is to remove the changed slide from the publication, save the publication, then re-add the slide and set all of its parameters again.
Is there any way to force the server to update the slides within publications?
Also, does anyone know of a good source of information about publications on Crystal Server 2008? The documentation that comes with the server is pretty weak. The problem I'm having may be by design, but I can't tell given the documentation I have access to.

    Hi Jason,
I believe what you are seeing is the "designed" behavior.
When you add a report to a publication, it copies the metadata (The data in the CMS database that contains all the details on database connections, parameters, etc...) to the publication object.  I haven't seen a way to refresh this data after it has been added so re-adding the report to the publication is likely the only way to update those details at this time.
    Thanks

    Here are the steps :
Go to CMC > Select  Report >click on Schedule report > click Default Settings option > Under Paramter Option > Uncheck Prompt While vewing Option > Save

  • Domain name for an instance

How do you configure an MSSQL instance as a domain name. Would like to have a connection associated with mssql.domainname.com instead of server/sqlexpress.
    Dave Keister Minerva Data Center

    Hi Dave,
From your description, you want to use the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) to connect to SQL Server.
For default instance, the format is computer_name.domain_name, for named instance, the format is
    computer_name.domain_name\instancename.
    You can
find computer name by typing hostname from command prompt. Below is an example for you.
    1. Use FQDN to connect a default instance.
    2. Use FQDN to connect a named instance.
Additionally, please note that when connecting to a remote SQL Server instance, we should configure SQL Server to allow remote connections with the following basic steps. For more details, please review this
    blog.
•Enable remote connections on the instance of SQL Server that you want to connect to from a remote computer.
•Turn on the SQL Server Browser service.
•Configure the firewall to allow network traffic that is related to SQL Server and to the SQL Server Browser service.

  • Custom eventing  for reporting --- am i using the correct ResourceEvent?

    Hi All,
I am using a web content management tool which stores all the content created through the tool in /documents repository . This content is published in the portal under various roles  . I am working on a report to generate and report the hit counts for the pages in this repository . I have written a Km service that subscribes to GET_TEMPLATE event to generate these statistics.
The problem i am facing is this . When i navigate through the KM folder structure to a given page in a subfolder and do a preview of the page content , the hitcount is incremented and the report reflects this increase . However if i navigate to the role where the content is published and view the content from the role , the page hit count is not incremented and the report does not show the increment .
    My questions are
    1) Do i need to write a custom KM event that notifies the repository broker about
the page access through the roles?
    2) Is there any other standard event to which i can subscribe to get this page hit count.
Any helpful answers will be rewarded.
    regards
    Subra

    Hi Subra,
    > is there any way to know if the tool is raising any event
As I have been one of the developers, I can report that the tool definitely does not raise such an event explicitely. But as said above, it also shouldn't do this, as it shouldn't be needed. In addition, for the display the tool redirects to a KM navigation iView, which normally should lead to the expected event risen anyhow.
But if it really doesn't work, you still have the option to ask btexx to check if this is a shortcoming on SAP side - which in the interest of a smooth working product should be tracked, maybe worked around...
About the caching I can report that there is also no caching used at the moment for the display. This may change one day, for this in fact it would make sense to raise the event (even if the resource isn't called from the framework, but to enable such kind of statistics, if they won't be part of the product one day anyhow).
    Hope it helps

One additional remark for all people involved: I just remember to have read about the same "missing" event on SDN, but I never checked this in the end. It <i>might</i> be that the navigation iView only throws the getChildren event, as for other resources than XML forms elements, it only renders the name of the resource, not it's (or part of it's) content (so the content doesn't get accessed). This also would make sense as normally the access to the <i>Show</i> form could be differentiated from the access to the <i>RenderListItem</i> form.

  • Custom Column for Project Code Number & Search Box to search Content in Project Server 2013

    Hi all,
I want to add a custom column in Project Center view for showing some Numerical Projects codes like 4523, 5248,8956 like that... Each code will represent Project assigned with that code in Project Server 2013. Also let me now if i can add some search box
in Project Center page through which i can search Project Code or Project Name. Currently, provided search bar not working in Project Server 2013.
    Need it urgent..Kindly help

    Hi,
If you want to add this column in a project center view, be careful to choose a project view in the "manage views" views' list. Also it must be a project custom field and not a task field. As Paul said, we assume that the field with the code exists
and has been previousky created by you.

  • Custom variables for reporting

    Hello,
I have a customer who has UCCX 8.5 and was wondering if they can do the following. Call comes in, agent answers the call and when the call is complete, they would like the agent to add an "account code" to the call from within CAD. They then want to use this "account code "for reportings. Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes but the agent won't be prompted for it so it would require some training.
The CallVariables1-10 that are stored to the ccdr table record for the call can be given a friendly name such as Account Code under Desktop Administration. You would also need to add that variable to a Layout List so it is shown in CAD.
The Script would need to set that Layout List to be used with the Set Enterprise Info step.
The Workflow Group of the agent (created in CAD Workflow Administrator, assigned in Desktop Administrator) would need to allow users to Modify Enterprise Data.
The CSQ would need to be configured to place the agent in a Work state. The agent can only modify the Enterprise Data during the Talking or subsequent Work states. Once they go Not Ready or Ready again the record is written.
With all of that in place the agent could double-click on the Account Code field within the Enterprise Data section of CAD. It will open a small dialog and they can type in the value they want.

    Hi,
I am using bursting just to get dynamic report name. In the Report UI, I have all the data model, layout defined and I ran it before and got the data. Now since I want to get dynamic report name I went into the Bursting option in the UI. Here it asks me for 'Split by' and 'Deliver by'. I am not sure what do give here. Also the 'Sql Query' box..do I enter any sql here or would it automaticcally take the sql behind my 'Answers' report. I tried ot pick one column for 'Split by' and other column for 'Deliver by'..and I checked the 'enable bursting' check box. When I try to save it it gives me an error "Bursting setting is invali. Please make sure all of Split by, Deliver by, bursting query setting are set properly"
I just have no clue what to do...the documenations do not provide any deatail info. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • File name field not generating dynamic file name for report printing

    Hello Folks,
I have a report region on a page and have enabled report printing. I would like to have the file name generated dynamically. So, I add the substitution string, say "&P1_CUSTOMER_NAME." (no quotes). The output file I get is literally named "&P1_CUSTOMER_NAME..pdf" (no quotes).
I have seen several posts suggesting the file name field should accept this syntax but, I cannot get it to work.
We are running Application Express 3.2.0.00.27 and BI Publisher.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for your help.
    -Markus B.

I was finally able to make it work using a page process and the APEX_UTIL.DOWNLOAD_PRINT_DOCUMENT with a submit button.

  • Dynamic file name for report export to csv

If "Enable CSV output" = "YES" for a report region titled "Invoices", the default file name is "Invoices.csv". If I have a parameter, Pn_MONTH, for the month (e.g. Jan 2010, Feb 2010, etc.) and the report only shows data for that month, I would like to have the resulting file named "Invoices_Jan_2010.csv".
I've tried setting the Report Export Filename to "Invoices_&Pn_MONTH..csv" and setting the region title to be "Invoices_&Pn_MONTH." but the resulting file name is coming up as "Invoices_.csv"'. I even tried "Invoices_:Pn_MONTH.csv" just to be sure but that makes it "Invoices_:Pn_MONTH.csv"'.
How can I get this to work?

This same method works for generating dynamic column headings from other page items, but I've never tried it for the download file name. That's the problem. The parameter P_MONTH is itself a page item and this is not consistent with other dynamic substitution. Looking at the page source, the export link is
f?p=102:9:8985946323211742:FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT_R2805111921107129_en-uswhere presumably "FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT_R2805111921107129_en-us" is an application process and "2805111921107129" is the internal id of the region. The filename is not part of the link.
