Customized User Key in OIM
As per my reqmnt, I need to generate the customized user key of a user getting created in OIM.
As per my understanding, when we create the user this psoID or database key is auto-generated in an integer format (eg:1,2,3..).
However I want it to be auto-generated but should be a combination of alphanumeric characters (eg: ABC_1, ABC_2,etc.)
Is this possible?

Well you always have an option for fetching the User Key against any search parameter for the user and then use that key to perform your operations. This way you can let the OIM generate 'User Key' on its own and you just query against the User Login while searching for that user. Here is the flow:
- Call searchRequest_x_User.xml with search criterion.
- This returns an xml with matching user details and create this xml in the response folder with the same name searchRequest_x_User.xml
- Parse the above xml to get the User Key and then perform modify/delete as required (say call 'modifyRequest_x_User.xml')

Customized User Profiles not loading for Network Users
I manage Macs in public computer labs and classrooms at a university. My general set up is as follows:
Clients are running 10.8.5, OD Masters are running 10.7.5. Open Directory Master to manage client preferences for Login window and screen saver. Clients bind to Active Directory for authentication purposes only. Networked users home directories are stored locally then deleted at log out. Using Deploy Studio to image and restore clients.
My customized user profiles are stored in /User Templates/Non_Localized.lproj.(I also update English.lproj for any local users that may need to be created for various reasons).
Recently I have come across a situation where, randomly, my customized user profile does not load at Login, and I am given the out-of-the-box default Apple profile. This is happening in 11 of my 14 labs. I have three labs that seem to not be affected by this.
On some labs I manage the DHCP, some labs I do not, and rely on our Networking group to supply DHCP and DNS. Because of this setup I have six different DNS server that may be in the mix. Two are Unix boxes, the other four are the Active Directory Domain Control servers. I did create a spreadsheet of all the AD/OD settings for each lab to see if I could find some kind of pattern, but don't see a way to upload it.
The one thing I do notice is that when I do a mass login using a shell script via Apple Remote Desktop, when the profile fails to build correctly, the user login is quick, much quicker than when the correct profile loads. Almost as if a packet is sent the the OD server, it's rejected, and bam, Apple's default profile loads.
I have flushed the DNS cache of the local clients using killall --HUP mDNSResponder
I've got one week to figure this out before classes start, so if you have a clue as to what's going on, I sure would be grateful.

How to provision multiple AD Accounts to a single User Profile in OIM
Hi,
We are using OIM 11g R2. We have implemented AD Provisioning/Reconciliation using Active Directory 11g Connector.
The correlation rule for linking AD accounts with OIM during target recon is set as “Email ID”
We have some business requirement where we want to provision multiple AD Accounts to a single User Profile in OIM.
Issue we are facing:
Suppose we have USERID1 in OIM which has email id as USERID1@ XYZ.COM .
After that we have provisioned sAMAccountName=USERID1 (Email ID as USERID1@ XYZ.COM )& sAMAccountName=USERID2 (Email ID as [email protected]) to the user User Login = USERID1 in OIM.
Both the AD User accounts can be seen as provisioned.
After we run the AD Target Recon, the target recon is failing because of “Multiple Process Matches Found” issue.
Question here is:
Is it possible to maintain/manage multiple AD Accounts (Same AD is used for all the multiple AD Accounts) to a single OIM profile user ?

We have seen its working and linking multiple accounts when we have Key field as "User ID" in the Process Defn & RO and the recon matching rule has email ID as the matching rule.
Please suggest, if we are having the above kind of rule/config...will it not cause any issue?

Not able to create, deleted user again in OIM
Hi,
As part of our porcess we susped the user on the next day of his/her last working day. And after 20 days we are deleting that user from OIM.
Now the deleted user again re-hire into the organization. So we need to re-create the user in OIM.
But we are unable to create the user in OIM 11g. And it is showing error as "user already exist".
Then we found there is an entry for this user in OIM repository as usr_status as deleted. And also we are not able to see this user in the OIM admin console even there is an entry in repository.
Please help us how to solve this issue in creating the identity in OIM.

SivaIf you want to re-create a deleted user with the same user id then you need to set the re-use id property to true and also drop the unique key contraint from the USR table.

Customizing request datasets in OIM 11g
Hi Friends,
I have couple of questions/issues while customizing request datasets in OIM 11g. Can you please help me?
1) I gave read-only="true" in my request dataset for one of the attribute, but I was still able to edit that attribute value while raising requests.
2) I gave hidden="true" in my request dataset for one of the attribute, but I was still able to see that attribute while raising requests.
3) I have around 90 attributes in my request dataset. Is there any way to display category type and under that category display the attrbitues i.e. just like attributes in user profile.
4) As I have 90 attributes, I am expecting the format will be like first 45 will be shown in left panel(column) and remaining 45 in right panel (column). Instead of this , it is showing first 70 in left panel and the remaining 20 in right panel which is very ugly to see. Is there any way to show frist 45 on left side and remaining 45 on the right side? Please help me.Regarding the first two points:
1) The read only property applies to the approver only, i.e. approver can read and not modify the attribute. It does not apply to the requester. I don't believe you can configure a read-only attribute in the data set.
2) If you want to hide an attribute, you can restrict it in your request template. -
Hi all,
I like to migrate custom attributes from test environment to my production environment. I read OIM documentation and i tried to fallow these steps but I cannot export sandbox and import it because all sandboxes are published in the test environment.
I exported and imported users metadata by deployment manager only. Now, all migrated attributes are in the OIM DB but I do not see these attributes in Administration Console.
How can i solve this issue? Is it possible to export published sandbox and import it in the other environment?

MilanIn OIM 11g R2 you need to export sandbox before publishing sandbox for custom user fields from DEV or TEST environment.
Then import exported sandbox in the another environment.
If you didn't exported custom user fields sandbox from your TEST or DEV in that case you need to create those again in another environment manually. There is no other option for this in OIM 11g R2. -
Clean Install With Custom User Id

From experience I am aware of problems in our network when we have 2 users with accounts which have the same User Id. For this reason I have always tried to ensure each User on our network has a unique User Id.
I am upgrading several User's iMacs to Mountain Lion and I will format their drives and perform a clean install. Is it possible, using Terminal, to perform a clean install but specify a custom User Id?

ChrisIt would probably be easier to change your Apple ID password. This would allow you to continue downloading past iTunes/App Store purchases.

Do you have a backup? If not, backup before doing anything because an erase and reinstall will cause you to lose all your data.
If your MacBook came with Mountain Lion pre-installed, you would have to purchase a copy from the App Store, but you can probably avoid that.
Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart) or hold down the option key during a restart and select Recovery Volume. Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions. Then select the Erase tab. Format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Erase and then reinstall the OS.

When you reboot, use Setup Assistant to restore your data. -
Setting user key from a business event
Hi,
Is there an easy way that I can set the user key for a workflow instance via BES?
My event will create a new process instance, taking the event key as the item key. However, in order to make searching etc. a bit easier, I want to set the user key at the same time (i.e. when the process is instantiated).
Is there any way that I can do this without having to write custom PL/SQL?

Where can I find the user key precedence hierarchy for each record type?
Example: I want to update contact records through the CRMOD web service API.
So I'm looking at the "Oracle Web Services On Demand Guide, Version 6.0 (released August 2010)", page 316, and it lists 3 user keys for Contact.wsdl v2.0 in the following order:
1. FirstName and LastName
2. Id
3. ExternalSystemId
From what I can see, this order does not seem to reflect the precedence hierarchy of these 3 user keys.
I've send in a test update where I supplied a FN, LN, and EUID, ... and the contact that matched the EUID got updated.
(I'm glad it did, because EUID really needs to take precedence over FN+LN, otherwise you could never change a contact's last name without knowing the contact's Row Id.)
Does anyone know where I can find the precedence hierarchy for each record type's user keys (other than doing the obvious and time consuming "try+error")?Hi,
we experienced similar problems with the account object and asked the oracle support about this. This was their answer:
"[...] thank you for contacting CRM On Demand Customer Care. Regarding your question, please note the below: when perfoming a query, the user key fields are looked for in this order: - Row id - External System Id - AccountName and Location. Basically, the search will be performed by AccountName and Location only when the other fields are missing. This is an expected behavior because, the Row Id is the strongest filter as it is always unique. The external system Id comes second, as it is supposed to be unique in another system."
So, I guess the order is always
1) Row Id
2) External System Id
3) specific field combinations...

Adobe Captivate 8 - How to Assign Custom Shortcut Key
I want to switch between the Film Strip view and the Master Slide view quickly. To show/hide the Film Strip there is a default shortcut key CTRL+ALT+B. For the Master Slide there is none.
Is there a way to assign a custom shortcut key to toggle Master Slide view?I wonder why the lack of support for custom shortcuts keys does NOT surprise me. In overall, shortcut keys are typical and always required in expert applications.
Anyway, thanks for the tip. I noticed that keeping a number of panels ON slows down the performance so toggling between them ad-hoc might mitigate users frustration.
Again...fruit for thought. -

Windows Phone - Cannot bind custom user controll with listview item source property

I have some problem of binding custom user controll with list of data. I'll make it simple as I can.
My problem is that somehow if I use DataBind {Binding Something} inside my custom controll it will not work.
I need to transfer binded data (string) to custom controll.
It is strange that if I do not use DataBind, it will work normally. Eg MyCustomControllParameter = "some string" (in my example 'BindingTextValue' property)
Does anyone Know how to bind custom user controll with inside ListView with DataTemplate.

There are multiple ways to do similar things. One, built into the system, is to use text replacement. See:

There are other programs you can buy that can do the job in different ways, such as TextExpander. You could also just create a clipping file by dragging your e-mail address to somewhere like the desktop, and then you can simply drag that file to wherever you like to insert your e-mail address there.
