Customizing 7.0 Toolbars

Hello,
I am trying to customize the BEX and Design Toolbars in a 7.0 Workbook. Essentially, I am wondering if there is a way to grey out specific buttons on the toolbars. For instance, greying out the "Global Settings" button on the BEX toolbar so that end users do not have the option to select it but still have access to the rest of the toolbar.

I think there is no such possibilities to grey out few items in Design toolbox and enable the rest.

Take a picture of your toolbars so you can easily reconstruct them from the default after solving the the problem.
If it happens to you it will probably happen again in the future so you might want to keep some copies of your modified localstore.rdf file so you can delete the bad one and rename one of the replacements in waiting. Saving, copying and renaming must be done with Firefox down, of course.

Custom button or toolbar

Hello,
Anyone knows if it is possible to add a custom toolbar or a custom button to a tollbar in Livecycle Designer? Something like the possibility one has of creating a custom toolbar to Acrobat Reader (using javascript folder).

Workbench is based on Eclipse so yes it is extendable but getting access to our components is not documented.

Problem with custom icon on toolbar (iPhone Beta 6 SDK)

I created two custom icons, using transparency so they are white lines on a transparent background, to add to a toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

On the simulator, this shows properly a white icon on the grayish toolbar. On the device itself, it shows a white box the size of the icon. It still works.

Problem persists in Beta 7. However a workaround (which might have worked in Beta 6, I don't know) is this: use GIF files with transparency, rather than PNG files with transparency. These display properly on both simulator and device.

DPS Custom Library/Store Toolbar

Hello.
In the 'Navigation Toolbar' section of the DPS App Builder i see an option to hide the navigation toolbar, but then i cant have custom library/store fronts ...
Is there a way to hide the navigation (bottom) toolbar when launching a custom library/store ?
I know i can go back to the default app library via DPS JS API ( adobeDPS.configurationService.gotoState( 'library' ) ), so a way to hide the toolbar would be great ...

InfoView - add custom items to toolbar

Issues regarding customizing Menus and toolbars

First i would like to know how i can move the tabs back to below the navigation bar yet still above the bookmarks toolbar.
Secondly i cannot return the search bar back to the position it was originally before the latest update and if i try to move it anywhere else it become way too large, also the search bar does not have the small blue google symbol on the right side and it no longer says google search.
If there is no way to change these setting can you please give e directions on how to uninstall the latest update so i can return to my original format as i find it very annoying that every time i update firefox it changer everything and each time has removed customization ability which is supposed to be a prominent feature of firefox.

SEARCH BAR
In fact the searchbar is getting to be rather redundant, as there re other searchbars on Firefox: the default homepage,and on newtabs page for instance. Also search terms may be entered direct in to the location bar.

By default there is nothing between the location bar and the searchbar, other than a flexible space, this allows them to be dragged to change their lengths, without even needing to open the customisations ( customisZations ) option. The mouse pointer becomes a double-headed arrow once between the two. You may need to move some fixed icon obstructing the unseen flexible space.
The change to Yahoo will have caught some by surprise. I wish Firefox had directly advise users of this change, but it is easy to change back.

Doing a Windows reinstall and want to save my custom Firefox bookmarks/toolbars/addons etc. Not sure how.

I need to reinstall windows but I don't really want to lose all my firefox settings and customisations; I had a look in my firefox folder and couldn't discern which files I need to copy to save everything. Is it possible?

Custom toolbar buttons

Is there a set of extra buttons for customizing the Mail toolbars, i.e., in addition to those that come with it, the way there is for Thunderbird?

That's too bad. The tighter integration is part of what I was looking for, but I'm surprised at that there's not a larger set. Eudora's toolbars were even more customizable than Thunderbird. There was a button for every item in every menu.
Setting up rules strikes me as especially awkward in Mail. There are several actions that can be performed when clicking on an address in an open message, including adding the address to the address book.
Making a rule from the address is not one of them. It should be, and clearly easily could be.

Toolbar bugs

Bug #1: Customizing the file toolbar to add a "close standard" option does not retain the new icon I've added onto the toolbar after re-starting Multi-Sim. I'm not sure if other toolbar customizations are the same way or not. I think this is a bug because I haven't seen an option to NOT retain customizations after exiting (that seems to be not the point of customizing the GUI).
Bug #2: Toolbars don't 'go back' to the position they were in if the window gets resized, or if you're in the options and select large icons, and then de-select it. Selecting large icons spaces the toolbars at the minimum distance with the bigger icons and then when you de-select then all the icons are back to normal size but the toolbars are spaced out. Having to rearrange all of the toolbars when something happens to the window or whatnot shouldn't be necessary.

I was not able to replicate bug 1 in Multisim 10. Is this the same version you are using?
Can you try this procedure again and see if it works, there is a known issue (bug 2) were the toolbar changes occasionally and I was wondering if this is the same thing that is happening to you.

Where are the tab rewind and fast forward toolbar buttons in ff 6.02?

The navigation toolbar has historically allowed customization with a button which would rewind the tab history to the first tab opened in a session and another button which would fast forward to the most recently opened tab. Neither of the buttons are available when customizing the navigation toolbar. Are those options available in FF 6.02? If so, where are they located. If not, why not? I am aware that a left click on the back\forward buttons shows the tab history. My OS is XP and I am using FF 6.02.

Toolbar won't come up in new message

I have trouble getting the Macmail toolbar to automatically pop up when I open a message in my inbox. That means to respond to the message, I have to close the message, go back and highlight it in my inbox and hit "reply". This is cumbersome. I see other Mac users where mail is set to automatically include a toolbar line, including "reply" and "reply to all" icons, but I cannot figure out how to access those settings. Can anyone help?
Also, the Mac wants to display email messages in extremely small fontsize. Is there any way to adjust font size settings for received mail?

Sounds like you have the message toolbar closed.
Open a message in the message list for your Inbox mailbox and at the top right corner of the message window is a clear pill shaped button. Selecting this button closes/opens the toolbar for that window and the same for any window that includes this pill shaped button.
When receiving a message with extremely small font size indicates the sender used HTML for message composition and the Mail.app is simply rendering the HTML received. When you write a message in plain text, the receiving email client renders the text in whatever font the reader chooses. When you format a message with HTML, the sender controls the formatting.
This is one of the negatives involved with using HTML for message composition which Microsoft wrought upon the internet. If everyone used Plain Text for message composition, the majority if not all problems experienced with email would be eliminated.
Since it is unlikely you can get this sender or all who send you messages to compose their messages in Plain Text, with such a message open, at the menu bar go to View > Message and select Plain Text Alternative.
The received message text will be converted to your chosen font and font size at Mail > Preferences > Font & Colors > Message Font.
Or add the Smaller/Bigger selection to the message toolbar (by customizing the message toolbar) and select the Bigger button to increase the size of the received message text.

How to make toolbar customization stick

After customizing the main toolbar (ie, adding/removing icons like New Tab, Print, Separator, etc.) it's only good until I close Firefox. Upon reopening all my customizations are gone and the toolbar is back to its default.

Thanks much for your assistance. The "Preferences are Not Saved" article had a link to a "Resetting Preferences" article. From that I started in Safe Mode and told it to Reset all Preferences to Firefox Defaults. Figured that was extreme but would be worth it. Turns out not only did that do the trick but it also didn't alter/remove everything so it was a simple matter to go in and make a few minor changes to get things back to where I wanted them. So THANK YOU very much!!
