Customizing for employee Photo 46.C

Hi All,
I need to store employee photo in R/3 database i.e. <u>Oracle database</u>.
I don't know how to fill entries in OAC0 and TOAAR_C to do this in 4.6C. All options I have tried always lead up to file storage and not database storage
Please, can anybody help me?

Use of ArchiveLink for Employee Photos - Performance

All,
We are currently using a simple web repository to surface employee photos in SAP and non-sap content. We're thinking about switching to ArchiveLink. We've configured ArchiveLink based employee photos in our sandbox environment and have an idea how that works. On one hand we'd like to pursue a standard SAP based solution for photos but are concerned that performance could suffer as the biggest consumer of our employee photos is SharePoint and SharePoint Search, sometimes serving up 25-100 photos per page. Does anyone have any experience with performance issues with employee photos in ArchiveLink?

The volume will be a challenge, if 0BPARTNER is the ONLY restriction in the query, but is that the case?
An alternative is to grant access based on either a custom grouping of 0BPARTNER into few categories or a grouping into fxTerritory, like you mention. You can do this in a separate cube for users who will have access to large numbers of business partners anyways, and use just 0BPARTNER in another cube for users who will have few business partners. If your users can not be split like that, fx because you also have users with not really many, but more than a few, etc, maybe you can use cubes partitioned by Territory or something else, for users who DONT have many business parterns. Like that, you reduce the "threat" from the volume

Mass upload for employee photos (IT0002)

Hi I would like to do a mass upload of employee pics to R/3 . I have tried the FM, ARCHIV_CREATE_FILE and it was uploaded successfully but I'm unable to specify the infotype. which for my case I would need it to be in IT0002.
I've tried the BDC program

yes. I have tried to upload it manually and it is working. But when I run the program it doesn't work. Could it be the path that I need to specify? Because the client uses IXOS software(links with the 4.6c) to upload the pics and doc. I'm not sure is this the reason it is not working.

Report for employee photos / OAAD

How get PHOTOS which i have already uploaded with transaction OAAD into INFOTYPE 0002.
Our end-users need a SMARTFORM with employee data and photo of him/her.
I can not get this photos.

There is an ESS (Employee Self-Service) Web Dynpro component called HRESS_C_PER_PHOTO which probably has the logic to do this within. Personally, I developed my own CHiP to show this in a Side Panel.

Calling infotype 0002 in ALV report for showing employee photo

Hi all,
The requirment from business side is a report in which employees personal data shuold be shown with employee photo, I had tried for employee photo in ALV report but it didnt sucessed, then I went for other solution like calling transaction in ALV report.
In this case I am calling Infotype 0002 but the issue is that the transaction PA20 is coming with PERNR but I am not able to go directlly to infotype which shows employee Photo,please suggest any solution.

It is possible. Please refer the syntax for the CALL TRANSACTION
CALL TRANSACTION ta { [AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN]
                    | [USING bdc_tab [bdc_options]] }.
You can do a recording till the required page comes & call the transaction accordingly. Hope, you are aware about the same.
For example, I just had a solution to go to the roles tab in the user profile and I did as below:

When I select the Edit button to do so, I'm only given the 2 options of "Share" and "Add To". My Camera Roll does everything the way I wish my Photo Library would. Can anyone help?

Only photos in the Camera Roll can be deleted. The rest of the photos got there by synching to your computer. You get them off the same way.

Custom search criteria for employee search in CRM Web UI

Hi,
I currently have some functionality in an implementation of enhancement spot BADI_CRM_BUPA_IL_SEARCH_EXT so that I can influence what search results are returned in component BP_HEAD_SEARCH.
It seems that this BADI is not called when looking for employees in BP_EMPL_SEARCH component.
Does anyone know where i can implement similar functionality as i have for the corporate account / individual account search, is there another BADI for this?

If a BADI is not getting called but you need it to be called then you can also call it in your custome code on component method.

To do this, which function modules should I have to use?

I also want to know how to read the file path from UNIX Server.

Photo restoration service website, need a way for customer to upload photos to my site.

I have a digital photo restoration service in need of a website. Is there a webiste plugin that will allow customer to upload photo to my website for quote? Go Daddy, and Wordpress/MintThemes said it isn't something they support with their themes. Other photo restoration website have the upload option. Please advise.

Elements 13 will not custom scale a photo for print.

When I try to custom scale a photo, the sizes have no effect on the finished photo and leaves a vertical bar on either side in Elements 13. Elements 12 worked much better.

Employee Photo Display

Hi SDN Gurus,
I want to display employee photo in my custom webdynpro abap application. Im using Document Area as blank, Storage type as SAP System Database and Rep. Sub-Type as Normal and Content Table is SDOKCONT1 in tcode OAC0.
I have written a FM to output the photo from table SDOKCONT1 which is of data type LRAW.
though im not able to get the image in Webdynpro component.
Are there any alternate ways or work arounds for this? Please help as i just want to display employee photo in my webdynpro application anyhow.

U can follow the following steps.
Configuring Employee Photos
Create Number Range
A number range must be created for SAP Archive Link.
Transaction code: OANR
For this process, additional authorisation is required for S_NUMBER = 03 ARCHIVELNK.
In u2018Intervalsu2019, create number range 01 from 0000000001 to 9999999999 without the external number flag.
This is likely to already exist.
Assign Documents Class
Document type HRICOLFOTO must exist with document class JPG.
Transaction code: OAC2
Table TOAVE
Document type settings
Document type HRICOLFOTO must be linked to object type PREL and Infotype 0002.
Transaction code: SM31
Table V_T585O (View)
Set all three columns here to minuses and don't put a flag in the check box.
Content Repository
Create a content repository with storage type FILE archive.
Transaction code OAC0
IMG: Basis Components --> Basis Services --> SAP Archive Link --> Basic Settings --> Maintain content repositories
Swap from display to amend. Select a current entry and u2018copyu2019 or just hit u2018createu2019. Then select .
Then fill in the details as below:
Choose a two character name u2013 can use Zx (where x is a number) if you wish to use the customer namespace
Choose the relevant description
Set DocArea to be u2018Archive Linku2019
Storage type u2013 set to R/3 Database
Protocol u2013 leave blank
Choose Version no. 0046 (or the latest one that is available)
Contents table u2013 set this to SDOKCONT1
Basic Path u2013 c:\ (this should be set to where the photos are all held)
Archive Path u2013 c:\ (this is the area from where the photos are retrieved)
Output Device u2013 can leave blank
Enter the path name where the photos are to be loaded from. Note this is for loading only. When the photos are linked into the sap system (see later), actually, SAP takes a u2018copyu2019 and stores it elsewhere. The path may only need to be entered to u2018Arch.pathu2019, but entering to all three doesnu2019t seem to hurt.
Maintain the required Basis Service
Transaction code: SICF
Here you activate the Content Server Interface.
First you need to create a user profile u2013 with sufficient authorisations to carry out the processes which are done by the system in the background. Ideally this should be a background user for a notional/dummy user. You can use your own user ID after which SAP will warn you that this is a dialogue user account. If you do use your own user ID, change it as soon as you have tested the config. Once you have finished the project, the chances are that your user account will be deleted from the system which will subsequently stop this service from working.
Double-click on u201Ccontent serveru201D in the left hand tree structure. You can find it under default_host --> sap --> bc --> content server
Once you have done this click on the refresh icon and make sure that the service is activated. If it is activated, the writing should be in bold (as opposed to greyed out)
Check which content repository (Archive) is linked to document type HRICOLFOTO in object type PREL
Transaction code: OAC3
Table TOAOM_C
Set the u2018Content Repositoryu2019 field to the one you set up in the step above.
Note the Ret.per. field is the retention period for the photo in MONTHS. (so the default is 833 years and 3 months!)
Link photo to personnel number
Transaction code OAAD
Click on the Create u2013 Store and Assign button. Enter Business Object PREL and Document Type HRICOLFOTO. Click on create(F8).
Enter the Personnel Number of the employee you want to link the photo to.

Is it possible to upload employee photo into IT 0002 in ECC 6.0

I have a requirement to upload employee photo's to Infotype 0002, so gone through all the steps in the threads posted here and felt that all were for R/3 4.6 n 4.7 only.
I have a different set up in few tables like OAC0 in ECC 6.0.
Request you all to let me know if uploading of employee photo is possible in ECC 6.0 ?? if so, let me know the configuration steps.
with screen shots are more appreciated.

Regarding the archiving part you better ask your basis admin to set that up for document type HRICOLFOTO.
2) Photo in the PA IT0002 In version 4.0B it worked
1. Define physical archives using transaction OAC0 Arx. ZZ
2. Assign objects types & document types to archive & documents tables for Obj PREL , doc.type HRIEMPFOTO,
Arx. ZZ using transaction OAC3
3. Define number range using transaction OANR
4. Using transaction OAC2 define doc.typ & tech doc types for exmpl. HRIEMPFOTO - TIF
5. Create protocol for Archive link using transactions OAA3 for exmpl. Comm.prot.,version. Generate it will define
application type from list and so on.
6. In the table 585O define relevant infotype for object and document type for exmpl. for it0002
7. Using transaction OAAD create link for PERNR with relevant infotype & files on the server, which described on the
first step.

Hello experts,
I want to upload the employee photos in SAP B1 v8,8.
I was wondering if there is a preferred or suggested picture type (JPG, bitmap) and what size is suggested for the image?

Pam,
You could attach any size pictures with any format but I always suggest our b1 customer to use jpeg or png files that use small size.
The main important things to know is that the picture is store in the path you have defined in the general settings and not in the B1 table. So, the more biggest size will increase the harddisk space.
