Where to place the image (i.e.Path)
Can some one please help me on this..

Hi Murali,
Would request you to try the following steps.
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoviewApp\res\schema.blue folder.
2. Copy the custom logo image file in u2018schema.blueu2019 folder
3. Open Central Management Console (CMC)
4. Go to Application-> Infoview-> Properties-> Display custom logo: Logo URL: untitled1.gif
5. Click Save and Close

XI 3.1 - Customizing InfoView

We are wanting to customize the InfoView log on page a bit. We were able to do this rather painlessly in XI R2 by modifying the logon.jsp page.
I looked at the code for the logon.jsp page for XI 3.1 and it is significantly different. How would I go about changing the the text in XI 3.1.
Here is the code from the logon.jsp page in XI R2 (this file is located "\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\InfoView\logon\logon.jsp":

Customizint XI and 3.1 is completely different but I have done for both and still working on couple of issues with customizing 3.1

How to change the InfoView logo [Favicon] from the browsers address bar.

Hi All,
I am launching an Infoview in a new web browser from the netWeaver portal through a link.
The favicon for potal is changed on the portal server.
How I can change the InfoView logo[Favicon] from the browsers address bar?
If anybody knows where that image is located on the BOE server where I can replace the icon with my company icon?

Hi,
the icon has the name favicon.ico and can be found in the root folder of the Web AS /Portal.
Favicons are images of the size 16x16 or 32x32 pixel in the Icon format (image/x-icon) and files have an .ico extension.
You can either change the standard sap favicon directly on the WebAs server wich needs might be done after each support package.

Digital Signatures / Custom Signature Logo

Good morning -
I'm getting quickly acclimated to the concept of digital signatures as my employer is stiving towards a paperless office. I have several questions that have come up, but I'll start with (hopefully) an easy one:
When a digital signature appearance is beign created, one option is "Logo", which will place the Adobe "A" behind the signature image and timestamp information. Is it possible to put a custom logo behind there - such as my company's emblem?

Hi Warren,
The answer is yes, you can replace the PDF trefoil (it's not the Adobe A) with your own logo as the background. Open the image file in Acrobat and it will get converted to a PDF file. Don't worry about cropping the image. For this you do need Acrobat as the free Adobe Reader cannot convert images to PDF. The next thing is to save the file with a specific name and to a specific location.
The file name you are going to use is SignatureLogo.pdf and please note there is no space in the file name. You need to save the file in the following location:
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\<version>\Security
Vista or Win 7: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\<version>\Security
Macintosh: \Users\<user name>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Acrobat\<version>\Security
I'm sure you've figured out that <user> is going to correspond to the name of the logged in user and <version> is the current major version of Acrobat or Reader. Although Acrobat and Reader get installed into different locations, and even use separate registry entries, they do share the users application data directory.

     If user doesnu2019t have SQL D/B server installed on their server, this mean they will not be able to use the PM Demo. This also imply u2018Analytics Catalog chartsu2019 will not be available for them to use.
As mentioned in the past notes, I was only able to resolve the missing Analytics Catalog charts issue by installing PM Demo.
     Since customer does not have SQL DB server as they uses Oracle D/B, they basically left with no Analytic Catalog charts to view. Am I correct to assume that?
     Is there an alternative way to retrieve Analytic Catalog charts outside PM Demo?

Whitebook custom bios logo

Hey all,
I bought a MS-1733 whitebook. So far I love it, have it running with 2 SSD's, core i5, and running Win7-32bit. But I am bored with the blank logo screen on boot and would like to add my own. Is this possible? I have built a bunch of PC's before, but never messed around with bios other than to set clocking settings. I know there are risks to doing such a mod., but still would like to give it a go. Is there anyone who can point me in the correct direction. I believe the 1733 uses AMI EFI (bios if you will). Any help is definitely appreciated, but please don't bother posting a message like just leave it how it is! With all due respect, that's not really constructive help. Thanks in advance!

System info shows bios as AMI E1733ig6 ver 10a. As far as the logo... I have a version of it you can see from my website. It is currently a gif but I will redo it as a bmp or whatever it needs to be and make it the proper size and also I will make it a black background instead of gray... http://pntrservices.com/Images/logo.gif

Hi Arvnd,
The logos for BI Publisher are not in the same location then Answers and Dashboards.(s_oracle, sk_oracle)
In your case the logo is:
OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\xdo\images\oracle.gif
You can replace the image restart your application server and normaly you will see your new logo

Customizing Oracle Logo in MDM 2.0.1

In MDM 2.0.1, I'm trying to customize the Oracle logo, as per the instructions mentioned in the Installation Document :
I. Place your <Custom_Logo_File>.gif in $SPLEBASE/etc/conf/root/cm
II. Create an External Navigation Key :
1.Open the browser with url : http://<hostname>:<port>/cis.jsp?utilities=true&tools=true+
2.Then, go to AdminMenu-->N-->NavigationKey+
3.Create an External Navigation Key with url : http://<hostname>:<port>/ouaf/cm/<Custom_Logo_File>.gif+
It didn't work from these above steps., please help me in this regards..

I would prefer to discuss the problems in the forum. There are maybe other that have the same problem and they could then participate from the discussion.
No back to your problem:
As fare as I know there is no build in function to read directly from file system.
MPL is no longer supported in this product and this was the only module for reading the file system.
You have to develop an application to fetch the files form the file system or you must use an Enterprise Service Bus
like OSB or ServiceMix.
To enable the system for the IMD import you have to publish a Business Object or Script via XAI Inbound service.
The recommended way is to use the D1-IMDSeeder BO.
There is a chapter in the MDM Configuration Guide, explaining how to setup the XAI Inbound service.
There is also a service script available. The advantage of the service script is, that you can import IMDs for more than on device (D1-IMDEvtUpl and DM-IMDEvtUpl). The DM-IMDEvtUpl is eventually only in the demo database available.
The disadvantage of the IMDSeeder is, that you have to setup a lot of configurations in the system. There is another thread in the forum explaining the setup.
My preferred way is to use the D1-InitialLoadIMDScalar or D1-InitialLoadIMDInterval BO but you have to do a lot of things by your own.

Customizing infoview

Hi Everyone,
We have webi reports which will be used by our clients in over 150 countries and it will be supported in over 25 languages.
The date, number and currency format varies from one country to another. For ex. in US, date is used in MM/DD/YYYY whereas in UK it is used in DD/MM/YYYY.
Same is true for number and currency format.
So webi report should display date, number and currency according to country standards.
This setting is done in Infoview/preferences/General/Preferred Viewing Locale=(here we have to set our language)
and at Infoview/preferences/Web Intelligence/When Viewing document setting.
When I make these changes, report automatically changes date, number and currency format according to default fomat for that language.
I want to have control over this default setting. I tried changing default settings in control panel/regional and language settings but to no avail.
Can anyone please help in this.

yes you can customize the infoView, but not much as you think, there is a list of files for everything in the business objects which for sure you can edit and customize, i use JSP so there is some JSP files and XML files which u can edit to customize it, but i think and im not sure of that, that if you edited those files your support will be expired

New Office365 Custom Theme Logo

My O365 Small Business account recently gained the ability to customize the top navigation bar theme. I added a company logo that is 200 x 50 pixels and is less than 10K in size. The logo looks great in all the SharePoint pages such as Admin, Newsfeed, Sites,
and OneDrive. However, the logo doesn't align with the rest of the page in the Exchange functions such as Outlook, Tasks, Calendar and People. Instead, it looks like it is to the right of the left edge and down from the top edge by 2 pixels or so.

Hello everybody,
Is it possible to open to an InfoView folder in XIR3 from a link?
I use this link:

But after login to BOE the initialFolderId is u201Cnullu201D. So the system forgot the FolderID.

In preferences (upper right) you can set infoview to open in a specific folder on a per user basis, would that work?

Webi Applet, InfoView Customizing are possible?

In the migration project from R2 to 3.1 , I'm facing customizing below.
Are these modification possible?
1. I want to modify some text in "Webi save window".
For example, text "keyword" -> "security level"
2. I want to add some column and put specific image in InfoView Listing page.
(adding column succeeded as modifing InfoViewListingBean.java in InfoViewAppActions, but items are limited.)
I analized above java sources,
but I can't find java file. All sources are compiled and packaged.
I know it is very difficult stuff. Just let me know about POSSIBLITY OF CUSTOMIZING.
If it is impossible, I have to report our customer ASAP.

Hi,
Modifying or customizing infoview is not supported so if you make any modifications you will need to revert all changes to the original state to receive support for any issues you run into.
Alot of that code is compiled and there is no documentation available since it is not supported.
Is it possible to do? Probabably.
Would I advise against it? Strongly.

I don't think there are any product guides that go through this type of customization, however there is an SAP Note 1414285 that will give you some pointers, here are the details of the Note:
Customizing the InfoView logon screen:
- Go to folder: C:\Program Files\BusinessObjects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewApp\res\schema.blue\
- Rename the file: login_banner_center.gif to login_banner_center_OLD.gif
- Save the new logo file as login_banner_center.gif
- Restart the Tomcat server and open the InfoView.
- After opening the InfoView you will find the new logo
- Customizing the InfoView top banner logo:
After login to InfoView you want to change the logo that appears above the Menu
- Go to folder: C:\Program Files\BusinessObjects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewApp\res\schema.blue\
- Rename the file: IV_left_topbanner.gif to IV_left_topbanner_OLD.gif
- Save the new left logo file as IV_left_topbanner.gif
- Rename the file: IV_right_topbanner.gif to IV_ right_topbanner_OLD.gif
- Save the new right logo file as IV_ right_topbanner.gif
- Take the backup of the file default.css as default_OLD.css
- Open the file default.css and adjust the following parameters in the u201C/* InfoView banners */u201D session as appropriated

For those who wish to upload and use a picture in your ALV abap reports.
Steps for uploading Logo :-:
1. Goto the transaction OAER
2. Enter the class name as 'PICTURES'
3. Enter the class type as 'OT'
4. Enter the object key as the name of the logo you wish to give
5. Execute
6. Then in the new screen select Standard doc. types in bottom window
Click on the Screen icon
Now, it will ask for the file path where you have to upload the logo
7. Now you can use this logo in REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE

Import Logo and Background Picture for Reporting
In this step, you can import a customer-specific logo and a background picture into the R/3 System. These will be displayed in the header area of reports in HR Funds and Position Management.
From the SPRO:
HR Funds and Position Management --> Dialog Control --> Customize Reporting Interface --> Import Logo and Background Picture for Reporting.
Activities
1. Enter the Name of your logo/background picture as an object key in the initial screen.
2. Make sure that the class name is PICTURES, and the class type is OT.
3. Choose Execute.
4. Double-click the document type Picture on the Create tab page. A dialog box will appear in which you can enter the path in which the logo/background picture can be found.
5. Enter the path and choose Open. The logo will be uploaded into the current R/3 System. If the logo/background picture is to be transported into other systems as well, choose Transport.
6. Return to the initial screen and repeat the procedure after having entered the Name of your background picture as an object key.
Please note that the logo/background picture can only be displayed in ALV-based reports with an HTML header. Manually programmed reports such as business distribution plans are not based on the ALV.
If you have selected several initial objects, ALV-based reports in HR Funds and Position Management will automatically use a hiearchical-sequential display. A logo is not displayed here either. Note also that the logo cannot be printed (see print preview in program).
Make sure that the logo does not exceed a height of 100 pixels because it would mean that the header of the report will be scrollable.

Arch's custom linux_logo package.

I always used linux_logo, a program which shows some system info with a customized distro-logo. I saw every distro has their custom package (with their own logo) except for ArchLinux. So I made a new custom version of linux_logo, including an ASCII-colored ArchLinux logo. I hope this likes and becomes the official package for our favourite distro.
You can found it in AUR; once you've installed, launch it with -L1 option.

I've only made the colored ArchLinux logo and included into linux_logo package.
The original linux_logo is an old program created about ten years ago by Vincent Michael Weaver.
