Customizing Outlook with SMTP Address

Hello
When a client opens Outlook, their email address appears at the top of the , in the form of: Inbox -
User@address.
Recently, we gave users a second SMTP address which we would like to be shown at this page rather than the old one (which is currenty showing)
Is there anyway this can be done? My instinct tells me GPO maybe...but am not sure if this parameter is modifiable.
Please Help!
Thanks

Hi Pinky,
Thank you for your question.
I agree with Nothing123.
Email address which appears at the top of outlook is a primary address. If you want to display the second email address, we just set second email address as primary address.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
Best Regard,
Jim

    Hi Kannan,
There are no multiple addresses but you can use multiple unloading ponts for the same address for the ship to Party.
So when you create a Sales order the system will give a pop up with the unloading points allowing you to select the desired one.
I hope I understand your query correctly.

  • API Gateway modifying SMTP addresses

I am running the GroupWise 4.1 API Gateway v2 to connect my GroupWise 6.5.4 environment with my Exchange 2003 environment. The two sides are talking to each other, the directories are synchronized, and the calendar connector is allowing me to do busy searches across both platforms.
The problem is when a GroupWise user sends an email to an Exchange user, and that email contains an outside SMTP address, the outside SMTP address appears as:
    domain.com.username instead of [email protected]
    ie
    yahoo.com.myname instead of [email protected]
The message is delivered correctly to outside SMTP address (and all addresses appear correct in it), but if the Exchange user selects Reply All in Outlook, the SMTP address will bounce the message, as the address is formatted incorrectly.
    Thoughts?

Remote Server returned '550 5.1.0 RESOLVER.ADR.InvalidInSmtp; encapsulated INVALID address inside an SMTP address (IMCEAINVALID-)'
My enviroment: Exchange 2013, Outlook 2010 - no cached mode. Issue happend with two email addresses but not always.
Any suggestion, how to resolve issue?
    Thx.

    Hi Tomas,
Does this issue occur in OWA? How is the impact, only one user or all users?
Please try to run Outlook under safe mode to avoid add-ins and AVs.
If there is any 3rd party add-ins, please try to disable them for testing.
    Thanks

  • Cannot establish TLS with SMTP...wrong address, connection error 5

An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: Cannot establish TLS with SMTP server 65.55.176.126:587, SSL_connect error 5:connection closed.

Is this for an Outlook/Hotmail type account? What do you have for the server settings under Tools/Account Settings/Outgoing Server (SMTP)? (For outlook/hotmail it should be STARTTLS security on port 587, normal password authentication, email address for the User name.)
If you have an anti-virus/security program scanning outgoing mail, disable that option and see if it helps.

  • Can't send email from Outlook with parentheses in address

I can't send email from Outlook 2007 through my WRT400N when Outlook displays the address with parentheses as in this example: Firstname Lastname ([email protected])
I can send if the address is in this form: Firstname Lastname <[email protected]>
I have tested with the ISP and nothing gets through the router when the problem occurs. When I bypass the router, both forms of address will send correctly. This problem is perfectly reproducible. My router is brand new, but the problem did not show up for about a week after installation. OS is Win7. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Problem handling SMTP address with OIM 11gR2 Exchange connector

    Hello,
I have a problem in regarding the primary SMTP address with the Exchange connector. The connector doesn't seem to be able to update it. Changing a user's primary SMTP address from its account details in OIM creates a new secondary address in Exchange. It does not change the current primary SMTP address. This does not look like a normal behavior... Any ideas on how to fix this?
    I'm using OIM 11gR2 with BP10 with AD 11.1.1.5.0A and Exchange 11.1.1.5.0.
    Thanks,

Yes, you can try out few things suggested in below thread

  • Entering contacts with Philippine address in outlook

When i update my outlook address book with Philippine addresses and after syncing my iphone,I cannot see these addresses in my iphone address book.Instead it will search for the location.
But other addresses say US,canada,Hong Kong have no problem and
can see them in the iphone address book.Could it be that Philippines is not yet in the iphone software( its the first iphone edition that I have)

You can try using the Outlook.com API which is part of Live Connect.  The documentation can be found at

I'm trying to import contacts from Outlook to Mac address book. I've exported as a CSV but when I try to open with the Address book import tool, the file is greyed out and can't be imported. Any ideas?

If you can't get the exported .csv file to work you might consider using Migration Assistant: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2518, particular if you need to move more than just your contacts.  There is some granularity in the options on what to transfer but I'm not sure if you can choose to just your migrate contacts.

  • How do we deduce (if we can) SMTP address for an exchange account with only x500 address available? In what cases SMTP address is not available for exchange accounts (please see details below)?

I am using PR_SENDER_EMAIL_ADDRESS to retrieve sender's email address for exchange mails, but for some mails I only get the exchange X500 addresses. In such case, I can use PR_SENDER_ADDRTYPE
to check the type but when I detect an X500 address instead of an SMTP one, is there a way I can enhance SMTP lookup? What might be the reasons that SMTP address is available for some External senders and not for others, as in my case? I am using MAPI CDO
    1.2.1 with Exchange Server 2010.
    MSDN Question

If you getting an X500 Address that generally means there is Directory object (in Active Directory) for that sender, if its an external sender then it most probably there is an AD Contact from that Sender. The best thing to do is just use resolve method
in CDO to resolve the X500 Address to the Directory object and you should then be able to get the associated SMTP Address from the recipient object. (you also just use LDAP to lookup Active Directory directly).
    Cheers
    Glen

  • Adding Custom SMTP address in Bulk Exchange 2010

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a script that gets all user mailboxes in Exchange 2010, then adds an additional custom SMTP address (SIP) without removing any existing email address.  If I run the script for one user, it works fine (below)
This works for an individual user:
    $SIPUsers = Get-Mailbox -Identity user
    ForEach ($user in $SIPUsers)
        $SIPUsers.EmailAddresses += "SIP:" + $user.SamAccountName + "@domain.org"
        Set-Mailbox -Identity $user -EmailAddresses $SIPUsers.EmailAddresses
When I run this script (below), it removes all SMTP address, x500, custom secondary alias etc and applies the default email policy.  I do get an error as well, which is:
    $SIPUsers = Get-Mailbox -RecipientTypeDetails UserMailbox -ResultSize unlimited
    ForEach ($user in $SIPUsers)
        $SIPUsers.EmailAddresses += 'SIP:' + $user.SamAccountName +
    '@ynhh.sso.ynhh.org'
        Set-Mailbox -Identity $user -EmailAddresses $SIPUsers.EmailAddresses
    Error:
Property 'EmailAddresses' cannot be found on this object; make sure it exists and is settable.
    At C:\Scripts\SIPAdd.ps1:5 char:15
    +     $SIPUsers. <<<< EmailAddresses += "SIP:" + $user.SamAccountName + "@ynhh.sso.ynhh.org"
        + CategoryInfo          : InvalidOperation: (:) [], RuntimeException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : PropertyAssignmentException

Actually.. just noticed in your script:
Once you go for the bulk change, you are still trying to call EmailAddresses from $SIPUsers (An array at this point) instead of $User.EmailAddresses.
    $SIPUsers = Get-Mailbox -RecipientTypeDetails UserMailbox -ResultSize unlimited
    ForEach ($user in $SIPUsers)
    $user.EmailAddresses += 'SIP:' + $user.SamAccountName + '@ynhh.sso.ynhh.org'
    Set-Mailbox -Identity $user -EmailAddresses $user.EmailAddresses

  • Migrating to "The Cloud" - "The SMTP address has no mailbox associated with it."

We have a front office app that can receive data from Exchange via EWS Push Notifications.  Last week, they moved my mailbox to "The Cloud". Now my mail resources all have "office365.com" in their paths. I'm a very early
adopter, trying to understand how to extend the app to work with this architecture before they move everyone else over.
In the past our app was an EWS 1.1 system talking to Exchange 2007 SP1 servers.  That's the ExchangeVersion I've always had set in EWS. Nobody has ever talked to me about upgrading any of our Exchange boxes.  Impersonation was
not supported in 2007, so we've been using a dedicated service account with full access to specified mailboxes. At the moment, I'd be happy if I could just connect to my own mailbox with my own credentials.
Our old system has 4 CAS servers. You can reach a mailbox through any of them.  For the new mailboxes, we've added two new CAS servers. I'm told these particular servers are Exchange 2010 SP3.  I'm also told the cloud mailboxes are in an Exchange
    2013 environment.
I've upgraded my EWS library to 2.2. I've tried ExchangeVersion values for 2007 and 2010 SP2 (there is no value for SP3). I'm not using autodiscover; I just put the name of one of the new CAS servers into the code for now.
My SMTP address is [email protected]. Our internal domain is usa.bigcompany.net, and I commonly login to resources (including my workstation) as USA\smith_j. I was using that ID
for Exchange, but since my mailbox got moved I now login to my mailbox as
[email protected].  We were previously building credentials for EWS with username (smith_j), domain (USA) and password.  Because of the changes, it seems that the right username to pass should
now be [email protected], along with just the password.
The problem is that no matter what I send, the server returns "The SMTP address has no mailbox associated with it."  I've tried a lot of permutations, and for hours that's all I've gotten.  Trying to reduce this to the most basic level,
what should I be doing in order to reach my own mailbox in office365.com, using my own account?  Is there any trick to this?
BTW, if Microsoft is using Exchange 2013 and my CAS server is 2010 SP3 which ExchangeVersion should I be using to do this?

This is very good. Using the office365.com URL, I have been able to create a subscription.  Of course, the office365.com server will not be able to make callbacks through our firewall, but it does clearly show that our CAS server is not getting
the job done.  This is progress!
I asked, and was told we're using Exchange 2010 SP 3 on the CAS because we already had licenses for that.
So I'm back to the question of whether this can be done by an on-premises CAS (or a cluster of them), or if we must go through Microsoft's servers to reach the mailboxes.
    And again, thank you!
