Customizing Picture Package Layouts

Is there a way to customize Picture Package Layouts in PSE 10?  I have one image that I want to print 1in x 1in and completely fill a letter size sheet with that same image.  Or, is there a way to tell PSE 10 to print out the one image 56 (or however many) times on the page and it would size it automatically?  Either would work.  Thanks!

Readme.txt for the layouts:
Good luck!
; This is the documentation for the Picture Packager layout files.
; Each layout file details the page size and image drop locations for one resulting document.
; The layout files can contain comments.
; A comment is any line that starts with a semi-colon ';'.
; The semi-colon must be the first character on the line.
; Blank lines are also allowed, and are ignored.
; There are 3 types of information that must be present in each layout file:
; 1) the units and page size
; 2) the description text that is displayed in the dialog
; 3) the layout specs
; As an example to work from, look at the file 'FiveBySevens.txt'. The contents are here also:
;    I 8 10
;    (2)5x7
;    0.5 0 7 5
;    0.5 5 7 5
; 1) the units and page size 'I 8 10'
; The 3 three fields on line 1 are: units, width and height
; You can enter inches, pixels or centimeters. All the numbers in a single file must be the same units.
; For inches, use i or I.
; For pixels, use p or P.
; For centimeters, use c or C.
; 2) the description text that is displayed in the dialog '(2) 5 x 7'
; The 1 field on line 2 is the text description shown in the Layout: menu choice on the dialog.
; This can be any text you want, up to 75 characters long.
; 3) the layout specs '0.5 0 7 5' and '0.5 5 7 5'
; Each line is one drop location for the image. You can have up to 50 drop locations per page.
; The 4 fields are x position, y position, width, and height.
; Remember, the units must match what you used for the page size in line 1.
; So, in summary, the example tells the plugin that all the numbers are entered in inches,
; the resulting document is to be 8 inches wide, 10 inches high, and will have 2 images on it.
; The first image will be located at 1/2 inch from the left edge, and at the very top of the document,
; and will be 7 inches wide, 5 inches high. The second image will be located 1/2 inch from the left edge
; 5 inces from the top edge, and will be 7 inches wide, 5 inches high.

  • How can i remove white space between pics in picture package

i am using ps elements 3 and want to use picture package to set up and print multiple passport photos on a single page.  passport photos must be 2"x2".  When I import or select a photo taken with my photobooth app on my mac and select custom size, i get 20 images on a page.  however, there is a white space of 1/2 inch around each image and the images are 1.5 " square rather than 2" square.  How do i get rid of the white margins around the images so that they will come out to be 2x2?

The easiest answer would be to just get a Friskars cutter or something similar. I have one like this that I use to cut my photos apart. I found mine at a Walmart in either the scrapbook aisle or the hobby aisle.
However, if you are determined to make a custom picture package you can try making a custom layout with a text editor. I know you can control the white space amount but not sure if you can totally eliminate it.
A simple text editor will work...notepad works for this on Windows...not sure what is comparable on the mac.
In PSE3, the layouts are found following this path Adobe<Photoshop Elements 3.0<Shared Assets<Layouts...note there is also a folder titled Layouts readmes which shows the formula to edit the layouts.
Here is a link that details how to create a picture package layout using a text editor:

Caution: Make sure you save your custom layout with a new name so you don't overwrite the ones that ship with elements.

  • Save custom print package

I recently purchased Lightroom 3 because I assemble my pictures in albums consisting of photo collages. I recently switched my photo processing from PSE 8 to Photoshop CS5, primarily because Elements is not a 64 bit program. I purchased Lightroom 3 beause I read of it’s versatile picture package capability. Amazon also made it affordable. My problem is I am on a steep learning curve with two complex systems at the same time and currently can’t make Lightroom do what I think it should do. Namely save a created custom picture package. I have 2 issues.
After creating a custom picture package, I want to save the collage in my album folder, either as a Tiff, jpeg or PSD file. I can’t seem to find any way to do that and a search in the help file reluctantly leads me to the conclusion it can’t be done.
Secondly, I discovered, other than a name plate, there apparently is no way to add text to a picture package. I sometimes like to add talk bubbles and descriptive text to either the pictures or the background. If I could save the picture package or export it to CS5 I would do this in CS5.
I have to believe I am missing something because I can’t imagine Adobe would provide the ability to create a custom picture package and not the ability to save it as an image. My recollection is that Elements does, why not Lightroom?
I know I can save templates, but I want to save the composite image. Please, someone help

If you scroll down to the bottom of the right-hand panel in the Print module (Print Job), you can choose "JPEG File" from the "Print to:" pull-down menu. TIFF and PSD aren't possible, AFAIK.
That is correct, jpegs only to export from the print module. Although you could print to a PDF which may then be editable in PS.

  • Need some Picture Package Help

How do I print a picture package, such as 8 wallets, in CS6?

    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4575734#4575734
If your running on Windows you can install the 64bit and 32 bit CS5 ContactsheetII plug-in into CS6. CS6 ContactsheetII is installed into Adobe's Required folder and will co-exist with CS5 plug-in installed into the Plug-in folder setup for third party plug-ins. In the Photoshop menu File>Automate> you will see two ContactsheeII itemes and one Picture Package items.  Picture Package use to be in ContactSheeII. ContactSheetII was changes in CS6 for thers were errors in its dialog with the preview thumbnail and the size images would be and for some reason Adobe removed Picture Package from ContactSheetII in CS6. If you install the CS5 Plug-ins in CS6 do not forget to copy the Layout Folder into Presets Picture Packages needs that folder contents.
Mac user are out of luck here because CS5 ContactSheetII plug-in is only available in a 32Bit version and there is no Mac CS6 32bit Photoshop.
Mac and PC users can use my Photoshop Photo Collage Toolkit in CS6 as a poorer replacement for Picture Package.  There are two scripts in that package useful for Pictire Packages.
1.) PasteImageRoll for creating single image size picture packages in a single document for pring on roll paper
2.) BatchPicturePackage will create Picture Package Collages. You need to create templates for the Picture Package layouts Images will be rotated for proper orintation.

  • Custom package layout problem when there are more than 6 pages

When I add a seventh page to a custom package layout for printing whatever changes that are made to that page take affect on page 1 not on page 7, i.e. if a I rotate a cell on page 7 the affect is not seen on page 7 but it is on page 1 which messes up the layout on page 1, and if I add an eighth page any changes made to it are seen on page 2 and so forth.  How do I prevent this so changes made to pages after page 6 are independent of the earlier pages?

There are a number of Bugs in Firefox that can cause that to happen. A few of those Bugs have been fixed for Firefox 4.0, but the developers decided not to "backport" those fixes to 3.6.x or 3.5.x for some reason.

  • Standard Picture Packages using PSE 10 with a Mac.

I am unable to print out a standard picture package using PSE 10 with a Mac.   I like to print 3 4" X 6" Pic Package with different images.  It is impossible. I had a PC and Elements 8 before with no problem.  I followed all the help instructions to no avail.  What can I do?

With Mac, I am unable to find a 3 4" X 6" (example) picture package in PSE 10 Edito
File>Picture Package>choose 8x10 for the working area and you should see:
Then go up to the top and choose an image. It will appear in all the zones. Just click a zone in the preview to change to another image. It's actually a more robust package than in organizer--you can save it as a file, for one thing, instead of having to recreate it each time. All printing in the mac version happens from editor, so that's where they put the picture package and contact sheet. You can also create and save custom layouts via the Edit Layout button. This is the same picture package and contact sheet that came for many years in PS, so if you look for PS tutorials (pre-CS6) you should be able to find very detailed instructions.

  • How to print Photo Info in the Custom Print Package

I am  using LR CC, latest version on a Windows7 PC.
I am trying to print Photo Info in the Custom Print package. I have no trouble selecting Photo Info in the Single Image/Contact Sheet Layout Style, but when I switch to the Custom Print Package, the Photo Info check box in the Page panel, disappears. I can't find any reference to this in the manual as to why this would occur, or not be available.
Appreciate any help with this matter.

    Hi,
Have a look at: Lightroom Help | Print module layouts and templates
Only on the Single Image and Contact Sheet layouts can you " ... print information about photos, such as the filename, title, caption, and keywords ..."

  • Aperture missing "Picture Package"equivalent to photoshop???

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that aperture is limited to printing very crude contact sheets that really do not compare to photoshops "picture package".
Basically I tried to print two 8x12s(different images) on a 13x19 photo paper. Ultimately I ended up going into photoshop where I resized the two images to 8x12s and positioned them onto a new 13x19 canvas. This then was a newly created file that I reimported back into aperture. I know this is not really a good work flow, but it seems that aperture has not even thought out a very crude picture package equivalent to photoshop
Also there is no measurement showing inches just pixels. It would be nice if they could show a ruler layout on the image it self similar to photoshop. Resizing in photoshop is much more practicle and straight forward.
I here that lightroom is far better for printing packages also.
Does any one agree about these shortcommings???

This is a glaring omission that has been noted since day 1 of Aperture 1.0, made more frustrating by the very robust printing features available in Lightroom. Surely Apple is aware of the problem, and hopefully they will find a fix in 1.6 or 2.0 or whatever comes next, but it's aggravating to know that a fairly sophisticated app like Aperture requires shareware oddities like ImageBuddy or Portraits-n-Prints in order to get packages working.
Time to fix this one, Apple. (Get the book tool working usefully while you're at it too!)

  • Lightroom 2.7 custom photo package printing

When I try to  print a custom photo package (multiple 4x6 images) on 16x20 photo paper, the individual prints come out slilghtly different in size relative to the 4x6 format.  I am using bordereless printing on a 16" roll (epson 7800) and I snap each pic to pic on the layout. The interior pics print  1/16"oversized of the 4x6 size, the edge pics print undersize by 1/8".  When I reduce the number of pics on the layout and leave a gap between each pic on the layout the pics print all oversize by about an 1/8".  The lightroom print controls;  Photo Border is not checked, Inner Stroke is not checked, Zoom to fill is checked.
My question is- Can lightroom 2.7 print actual 4x6 prints using the custom photo package w/borderless printing?  If I layout four 4x6 pics side by side so that the entire width of the 16" paper is used, can I get lightroom and my printer (epson7800) to actually print each borderless photo exactly 4" instead of oversizing the two inner pics and thus shortening the two edge pics due to the oversizing of the two inner pics?  Am I missing an adjustment I need to make on the printer properties or the lightroom page setup?  Thanks for any help.

You may need to download the package again.

  • Elements 6 picture package not working!

Running Vista 64 and trying to print two photos into a picture package.  The screen comes up I have two pics in left hand box and 1st pict shows when it has indv. prints but when i use the drop down to switch to pict pack is shows a blank page in the middle.  I have tried draging pics to center get a warning about some cropping will occur I hit ok but nothing show in the center box.  Help!!
    Thanks
    kent

Tried trashing the pref files you suggested, and still the same thing. I can open the Picture Package module, select a layout, and click in one of the boxes on the template. Then the photo opens in the background, the Layers palette shows the background layer and everything comes to a halt. The Contact Sheet module doesn't work, either; it does the same thing: The first photo in the folder I choose to make a contact sheet opens in the background and shows in the Layers palette and then the whole thing bogs down.
Interestingly, when I force quit, the entry for Photoshop Elements does not have the usual 'not responding' message next to it. Also, the OK button sort of slowly pulses like Elements is thinking, but not acting.

  • Saving Picture Package

    Hello there,
Can someone help me with an issue in saving picture package?
I tried creating a picture package and when I  tried saving it on the adobe presets, a message appears,
    C:\program file(x86) adobe\adobe photoshopcs3\presets\layouts\2-8x10.
You don't have permission to save in this location.
    Contact administrator to obtain permission.
    I am using windows vista64.
    Thanks,
    Romeo

instead of double clicking on the Photoshop shortcut, right click it and chose "Run as administrator", you should be able to save in that location but you have to do this whenever you want to save a preset in the default location. This is Vista telling you that it doesn't like where Photoshop maintains it's layouts(it's a security risk or somesuch) for Picture Package and is also one of the reasons(not one of the big reasons but still) why they dropped this feature from CS4(though you can still get it back by installing the optional plug-ins)
The other option would be to disable UAC from Control Panel->User Accounts and select Turn User Account Control on or off

  • PSE 11 print quality and picture package options

I've been using PSE 5 since 2006, and figured it's time to check out what's new under the sun.  I downloaded the PSE 11 trial version, whose editing function offers slightly better enhanced photos than PSE 5, but seems to fall short in two areas of importance to me:  1)  When using the highest quality print settings, PSE 11 prints photos more quickly, but of lower quality than PSE 5.  2)  PSE 5's "print multiple photos" feature lets me print an 8 X 10 photo with my choice of borders, whereas PSE 11's "picture package" feature seems to allow prints with choice of borders only up to 5 X 7.  Unless I'm doing something wrong, I'll just keep my trusty PSE 5.  Thanks for any assistance you're able to provide.  Aloha, Peter

    Yes I did restart PSE7.
    but that did not help
I also tried to remove all  the present llayout-text files except my own, then there was NOTHING to chose from!
So her is one of the layout text file that I use with PSE2 and it is working, when I select paper size A4
    C  21  21
    A4 (3)  10.5  10.5 cm
    0  0 10.5  10.5
    10.5  5.2  10.5  10.5
    0  10.5  10.5  10.5
That txt file did not show in the dropdown select layout,(setting paper size A4  or Letter)
I tried the following txt file, setting papersize Letter
    with the same result
    I  8.5  11.0
    Letter (3)  10.5x10.5 cm
    0  0  4.1  4.1
    4.1  2.0 4.1  4.1
    0  4.1 4.1  4.1
Since there are no (error) messages I do not understand the criteria to meet for showing this layout in the select dropdown list.

  • Picture package plug-in might be in wrong folder in cs4

My problem is this.  I successfully installed the Picture Package plugin for PS CS4 but then ran into a problem with the computer and had to go to an earlier restore point.  After restoring the computer I needed to reinstall Picture Package. When I installed the plug-in I must have accidentally installed it in the wrong folder. I've repeatedly tried to reinstall it from the exe file but I get the message "not enough memory, or don't have write privileges."  I suspect one can't install Picture package twice.  But now my problem is that I don't know into which folder Picture Package installed so that I can move it to the right folder.  Or do I need to unistall the plug-in and try again.  But how do I do that?

  • Customized R12 Standard Purchase Order report with custom data and layout

    Hi all,
We need to customize the seeded Purchase Order report in R12 to add an additional section to include cost data coming from our custom table. The key is that our customized report should be launched instead of the seeded report via various PO forms (e.g. View Document menu option, PO Communications form to email, fax and print PO, etc).
I manually set up a custom Document Type Layout for the Document "Standard Purchase Order" to use my customized template so my custom layout is shown instead of the R12 layout, but according to Oracle support the report can only draw data from a set of seeded Oracle views like po_headers_xml,po_lines_xml etc.
Any suggestions how we can add our custom data to PO report in R12?
    Thanks! Mike.

    Hi Mike
thats a tough one, the PO generation is a bit restrictive to say the least when it comes to customizing. It sounds like you have worked out how to get your own template in there to render the PO.
On the data front, all I can think of is to customize and replace the seeded PO view with one that incorporates your extra data.
Or, get into the page customization world and write your own extract and format concurrent program/procedure and then hook it onto the buttons where you want to launch it.
You might have more luch, response wise from the EBS PO forum.
