Customizing steps to make visible any SDMJ normal corrections in tocde DSWP

Hi!
I have the following problem by working with ChaRM and normal corrections.
There are two types of normal corrections:
1) Normal Correction (type:SDMI)
2) Normal Correction (type: SDMJ)
Problem
Since a few days it is not possible to see all the SDMJ normal corrections within tcode
DSWP --> Change Management --> Drop Down "Not Completed".
Only the SDMI normal corrections are visible there.
Questions:
how can this issue be customized in order to see the normal corrections of type: SDMJ in tcode DSWP?
Thank you very much!

    Hi Gurus,
Custom info types created before ECC6.0 are not available and visible in HRAS. But custom info types created after ECC6.0 are visible in HRAS. Now, I came to know we should decouple the custom infotypes to make them available in HRAS.
I require straight forward step by step procedure to decouple the custom infotype. .

To debug it on production, can you check on the hot-deployment area of Spaces apps to validate the shared library reference is updated in weblogic.xml is picked up:
    WebCenter_Domain_Home/servers/WC_Spaces/tmp/_WL_user/webcenter_11.1.1.4.0/<depl_prefix>/war/WEB-INF/weblogic.xml

  • How can I create a custom step that does nothing but make calls to a dll

What I'd like to end up with is a Custom step that
    1. Takes several string parameters
    2. Makes several calls to functions in a DLL
    3. Returns and stores error codes returned from the function
I've been through the KB article "How Do I Make a Custom Step Type".
This got me about halfway there; while helpful, it didn't provide a
reference for some of the questions I had, specifically:
    1. What sort of sequence action type should I start with (to use as a template)?
    2. If I start with a "Call Executable", do I need to specify the module when I incorporate the step into the sequence?
    3. How does one pass parameters in and out of a custom step type?
    4. How does the step type report progress/errors to the report?
    Thanks in advance.
    Mike

    Hi,
To interface to a DLL you will need to use either the DLL Adapter or the CVI Adapter, not the Call Executable adapter.
Have you been through the Using LabWindowsCVI with TestStand manual. This should answer all your questions, all the chapters are relevant.

  • What are the steps to make it seamless for a customer to use the install program and then use the installed program?

I wrote an install program (.exe) that is downloaded from a website.  When run, it 1) leads a customer to browse to a directory, and 2) copies files (.exe, .dll, etc.) from a website to that directory.  When I run, the installed program works.
What are the steps to make it seamless for a customer to use the install program and then use the installed program?

This site https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/2kt85ked%28v=vs.110%29.aspx provides a basic description of the Visual Studio Windows Installer.
Near the bottom of the page is "You can unlock all the features of InstallShield by paying to upgrade to the full version of InstallShield."  Where do I find info that describes the differences between the "free" and the "full"

    Hello,
The default feature does support the task for your requirement, so there is no need to pay for the other features unless you want to use some feature which is not free.
    In addition, as this thread

  • Confirm Successful Test in Normal Correction (SDMJ)

    Hello,
In normal correction (SDMJ) workflow, the action Confirm Successful Test is selected in the Development with Release phase of a project/maintenance cycle. The status of the Change document changes to Consolidated after that, and you then be able to move the cycle to Test phase.
How can we customise the standard workflow so that Confirm Successful Test is selected in the Test phase? This seems to make better sense.
I'd appreciate any help from any one of you who have done some customising to the SDMJ standard workflow. Many thanks in advance for your help.
    BR Li

    Hi Li,
I had the same dscussion with my customers more than once, it is hard to understand to perform the action "Confirm Successful Test" before Test phase.
You could add another status to SDMJ (or a copy of SDMJ, for instance ZDMJ) before Consolidated.
But we selected another option, by using test messages during test phase and therefore following SAP standard process. So, a developer confirms successful integration/unit testing after he finished his development/customizing activities in dev by changing the status to consolidated.
If some issues are detected in Test phase, we are using test messages to correct it. But you are right, at the end of test phase there is no additional status which says: all is fine, go ahead and move it to production. Only be checking that all Test messages are finished, the Production transport approver can be sure, all issues have been resolved.
But by adding another status, please consider this: You have to create a copy of SDMJ (ZDMJ). After this, all enhancements and changes to SDMJ delivered by SAP, you have to do manually for your new transaction type ZDMJ, otherwise you will not get the functionality. That's why I'd recommend to use SDMJ as delivered by SAP and also use Test messages during test phase.

  • How to create the custom method and make it available to clients:

Hello, Can any one help me with this problem ASAP??
I am trying to work on an example of "Customizing the Query and Creating an Associated Custom Method"
from http://helponline.oracle.com/jdeveloper/help/topics/jdeveloper/developing_mvc_applications/adf_pviewcustommethod.html?tp=true#method. To do that, the first task is to create the custom method and make it available to clients.
Following instructions in the helponline documentation, I completed the three steps: (1) "Specify a custom query for the View Object definition for EmployeesView", (2) "Add the custom method to the application module Java class", and (3) "Make the method available to clients".
The following is the error message I got to test the application module. Can anyone tell me what the message really means and what I should do. I am wondering if there is any mistakes in the document.
    (oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException) JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement: SELECT Employees.EMPLOYEE_ID, Employees.FIRST_NAME, Employees.LAST_NAME, Employees.EMAIL, Employees.PHONE_NUMBER, Employees.HIRE_DATE, Employees.JOB_ID, Employees.SALARY, Employees.COMMISSION_PCT, Employees.MANAGER_ID, Employees.DEPARTMENT_ID FROM EMPLOYEES Employees WHERE Employees.SALARY > :1 and Employees.DEPARTMENT_ID = :2
    ----- LEVEL 1: DETAIL 0 -----
(java.sql.SQLException) ORA-01008: not all variables bound

You need to set values for the parameters in your query before you try to execute the query in the view object.
So you need to call the setBindVars method before the query.

  • How can I include multiple limits in the sequence file documentation for custom step type?

    Hi,
I have a custom Step Type that contains Measurements property under Results. Its type is Array of NI_LimitMeasurement.
I would like to see the values in the sequence file documentation like NI_MultipleNumericLimitTest type.
Is there any trick to do that?
    Thanks,
    Andras

    Hi Andras,
I have made  a slight change to the sequencefile 'docgen_txt.seq'.
In the Sequence 'Step Doc' is a section which handles MultipleNumericLimit step type. There is a precondition check on the step 'Add Multiple Numeric Limits' if the step is of type 'NI_MultipleNumericLimit'. As your step type is based on the MultipleNumeric Limit type, I have just removed this precondition and just relied on the existence of Parameters.Step.Result.Measurement. Equally you could add a new section in this sequence to handle your Custom Step Type which is only called when the precodition match your type name.
Now when you run the DocGen tool it handles your custom step type.
Find attached my modified sequencefile 'docgen_txt.seq'.
Just copy the contents of '..\National Instruments\TestStand 3.5\Components\NI\Tools\DocGen' to the User folder. Then place the attached file in the User\Tools\DocGen overwritting the version that is in that folder.
Then launch TestStand and try it out on your sequence file.
If you are using the html version, then you will have to make the same change into Step Doc sequence of the docgen_html sequence file.
    Hope this helps

  • "Disable tracing" as part of custom step type behavior

    Hi !
Currently writing custom step types based on sequences (my step type's default adapter is a sequence), I would like to set the "disable tracing" right in my step type definition.
The problem is that this option isn't visible in the 'Default Run Options" tab... The only way I found to do this is using Pre and Post Expression to set 'ThisContext.Tracing = True /False'.
But I don't like the fact to use Pre/Post Expressions in my step type (I would prefer to let it blank for end users).
Is there any way to achieve this without using Expressions ?
    Solved!

  • Put the report into shape for custom step type

    Hi All,
I created a custom step type and also managed to get the results logged into the report file.
In the report file(See ‘[15 33 14][22 10 2007].xml.vi’ please remove the 'vi' extension) the 'StepResult' (created by my custom step type) appears just below the status. Is it possible to get it displayed somehow the cell(measurement column) next to it, like in a Numeric Limit Step? I’m using the ‘horizontal.xsl’ stylesheet and Teststand 3.5.
Furthermore, is it possible to change the name of the column headers? Or the structure of the header?
    Cheers

    Hi again Attila,
Further to my above post, I've collaborated with colleagues here and have been able to modify the horizontal.xls stylesheet such that it is suitable for what you require. This modification will ensure that all properties named StepResult will be displayed as you described, in line in the table.
To ensure compatibility with your results in TestStand, a small modification to your sequence file is required. In your sequence file, right click the value for your custom step, go to Advanced > Edit Flags and uncheck all boxes. The text in the bottom of the window should now read "0x0". This should mean that your data is displayed correctly.
I am attaching the modified horizontal.xls for you to use [remove the .vi extension]; please make sure a backup is created before you replace it. The file should be placed in your TestStand directory under Components\NI\Models\TestStandModels\StyleSheets. Modifications to column headers as described in the above post can be made to this file.
I hope this soultion is satisfactory and that you are able to implement it. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reply.

  • Custom step type

    Hi,
    I am using TS4.0.1. and LV 7.1.
I tried to create a custom step type (MultipleNumericTest_VBATPXI), which similiar to NI_MultipleNumeriLimitTest.  The difference is, I have two additional measured data. (I don't want to check those against Limit, but want to log to the database. )
So I created the custome Datatype (Limit_test_VBATPXI) similar to "NI_LimitMeasurement" and add required two fields.  This datatype is passed to the "MultipleNumericTest_VBATPXI" steptype for Result.Measurement  type.
In property browser it shows Results.Measurement as Limit_test_VBATPXI type. But when I add one value in Limit window, Result.Measurements.Measurement[0] becomes type of NI_LimitMeasurement !
    How to solve this?

    Hello Vishal,
When you click the "Add Measurement" button on the Limits tab of this step, it is actually calling the EditSubstep of the NI Multiple Numeric Limit Step type.  This Edit substep function, EditMultiNumericMeasurementStepUsingExpr(), is located in the  "<TestStand>\Components\NI\StepTypes\CommonSubsteps\CommonSubsteps.dll" file.  If you wanted to change the behavior of your custom step type, you would need to make your own dll (all of the source code for the CommonSubsteps.dll is provided) that would add your custom type instead of the NI_LimitMeasurement type.  I hope this helps alleviate any confusion.

  • Custom step and step execution

    Hello,
I am in need of the solution for accessing the execution of a Step
The execution order of a step begin as below.  How can I insert a custom call at  execution position before step 3 and after step 18?
Can I create a custom step allow me to insert a function call like that
    1-->Allocate result
    2-->Enter batch synchronization
    3-->Check Run mode for Skip
    4-->evaluate precondition
    17-->Evaluate Post expression
    18-->Evaluate Status Expression
    Solved!

    Tphan wrote:
Precondition can be use for dynamicly setting the step to skip or fail, but limit to boolean only
The above statement is not correct, you can have any expressions as long as they evaluate to a true or false. So for example, you can have a precondition:
    RunState.PreviousStep.Result.Status=="Passed"
So the above expression makes sure that the step will only execute if the previous test passed.
I think your problem can be solved using pre-conditions and post actions.

  • Custom step type revision

I have created several custom step types, but the names are not displayed correctly when I insert a step in a sequence. This worked fine in TS 2.0, but not in 3.0. Is there something that needs to be done with the version of the step type to be correctly recognized in TS 3.0.
    Thanks,
    Scott Trosper

    Scott -
I am not aware of any issues like this. The version of the step type should not make a difference. Basically the Default Step Name Expression on the General tab of the Step Type Properties dialog box defines the name of the step at insert time.
Could you append a sequence with the step type in it?
Could you specify what you got in TS 2.x and now what you get in 3.0 for the step name when you insert a new step?

  • Can I create a global custom step type, available for all sequence files through a single copy?

I would like to create a custom step type and make it available to any (new or existing) sequence file, without having to copy/paste it every time, to avoid maintenance problems...

    Hi Andre,
You need to create the custom step type in the station view rather in the sequence file view.
There's a step type button near the Users Button.
Click on this button then proceed in creating the custom step type as you would have done in the sequence file.
If you are using TS 1.0.x then the new step type will be added to the types palette.ini.
If you are using TS 2.0 then will be able generate a new group ini file to hold your custom step types.
