Customizing text for MS word

Hello Forum,
At first, Happy New Year.
I am doing a report in an action to execute MS word in an order sale. For that order sale i wnat to print some texts. I define them in transaction, so10 like sap script text. I do that because the cliente will be able to modify in the future, but i dont know how to call in the report.
Any idea, suggestion or an example¿?

I use this OLE Objects, but i dont know hot to integrate these texts, i create in s010, with this OLE objects..
Where is the online documentacion about this theme?

We see 'Actual' and 'Target' label values in funnel chart when we hover the mouse on the chart.
But i need to change the text to custom text for SINGLE graph. I dont want to chnage any xml or config files, I need this change in single report only.

this requires java development.
First you should look at the concept of creating a property renderer here:

Now I would suggest creating the project for your custom property renderer as described in second link, finding the PropertyRendererDisplayName.class, decompiling it and modifying the part I suggested in previous post.

Custom Metadata for Microsoft Word

Since Microsoft Word has a limited property/metadata fields and there is no budget to purchase a document management system, I am thinking of storing custom metadata fields in a XML file or a database.
Can Ultra Search be configured to search the Word documents by full-text and metadata fields? If so, how?

You should start by downloading the Acrobat SDK and building the sample plugins. This is C/C++, there is no support for .NET.
Next you will need to read the relevant section of ISO 32000-1:2008 (the PDF standard) or a book such as “Developing with PDF” (from O’Reilly). This is required to understand how the PDF file format and objects work.
Finally, you can then start looking at the SDK documentation around the Cos and PD layers to apply to what you need to do.

Custom text for JMenu and JMenuItem

hey guys
right now i can do a :
JMenu menu = new JMenu("File");but how can i customize the text on the Menu a.k.a "file" so may be it looks bigger or a different color ?
ive looked at the API i can see that JMenu takes "Action" object too which describes the look. I know Action is an interface and i havent been able to find a suitable class that implements this interface
so how should i go about changing the text look/feel ?

i can see that JMenu takes "Action" object too which describes the look.The Action has nothing to do with the look (other then providing the text to display). It has to do with the Action that happens when you select the menu item.

Pasting text from a word program while retaining the same italics formatting?

I'm looking for a way to be able to copy text from another program (Microsoft Word) and then, using the Text tool in Photoshop (CS6), paste that text, but where it retains the correct italics formatting I had in the other program--and not as an image of text (Ctrl+P), in which the formatting is present, as a flat image, but rather as an actual unrasterized and editable Text layer. For example, the sentence “I told you..” where 'told' is italics, simply pastes into Photoshop as "I told you.." without the original formatting. Is there a way to get Photoshop to recognize formatting from pastes without my having to manually re-apply the formatting myself? This would be a hassle over a long period of time. If necesary I would be willing to use a plug-in that allows for this sort of recognition.

InDesign does correctly accept Word's formatting with 2 important considerations.
In the InDesign preferences, Clipboard Handling needs to be set up to paste "All Information (Index Markers, Swatches, Styles, etc)
In Word you can't use formatting like faux Bold or faux Italic in place of using a font that has an actual Bold or Italic font style.
InDesign only allows for using fonts that have a Bold or Italic font style and no longer allows for faux styles like MS Word or older type layout applications like PageMaker or Quark (clicking a B or I button)
You can copy the Text Block in InDesign (the arrow tool - not the text tool) and paste this into Photoshop as a Vector Smart Object.
You can then use a layer style on this Vector Smart Object layer.
But all this really just a sideshow. If you are copying a small amount of text, it shouldn't take long to reformat in PS.
If you are doing a large amount of text or small amounts many, many times you should do as Willi Adelberger says and place the images in InDesign. You can place or paste text for MS Word in InDesign (and adjust or edit it if you want)
In InDesign you can color the text, apply special effects like drop shadows, embossing, etc.
Can you tell us the amount of text you deal with, how often you need to do this, and what (if anything) do you want to do to the text after you get it into PS?
I think everyone would agree with Willi's statement: "Personally I would avoid to make text objects in Photoshop if not specific raster-image effects or combinations are needed."

Customer texts mass maintenance

I need to massively update the customer texts for some of our customers. In transaction XD99 I saw that text fields are not supported, so, I am thinking in developing a program for this task.
As I like to avoid developments at most, I would like to know if there is another way to do this text massive maintenance in a standard way. Can anybody tell me how to do this?

Texts are not supported by XD99 as you pointed out. But here creating utility is a better option. Do remember to make this utility to consider language specific changes, if your client has business across geographies and languages.
Secondly while building utiliy, do also consider having a table to maintain the change log as customer master change document doesnt support text change logs.
From my client experience, we have finance approvals before customer master change. In this case, you may need to add couple of step process in transaction to create, approve/reject and then process.

Customizing Text

Anyone ever experience problems when customizing text. I am renaming a column header in the Daily Report and it accepts it in the 'customize text' module, but does not reflect the change on the form.
This column has been revised once....is the database doing something (or not) on this one?

I know that CM 13 has a weird behavior when customizing text. The customized text is stored in the database.
During customization if you revise your entry after applying it, it is recorded as another custom text. You revised two times then you will see two different custom text for the same label in the database. Once you have a couple of different records CM picks one. This could be the right or wrong one.
Unfortunately you need to "restore default values" and lose all your changes to clear this mess or go to the database table and do a manual clean up.

To search a character field for a particular pattern, use the SEARCH statement as follows:
SEARCH <c> FOR <str> <options>.
The statement searches the field <c> for <str> starting at position <n1>. If successful, the return code value of SY-SUBRC is set to 0 and SY-FDPOS is set to the offset of the string in the field <c>. Otherwise, SY-SUBRC is set to 4.
The search string <str> can have one of the following forms.
<str>
Function
<pattern>
Searches for <pattern> (any sequence of characters). Trailing blanks are ignored.
.<pattern>.
Searches for <pattern>. Trailing blanks are not ignored.
*<pattern>
A word ending with <pattern> is sought.
<pattern>*
Searches for a word starting with <pattern>.
Words are separated by blanks, commas, periods, semicolons, colons, question marks, exclamation marks, parentheses, slashes, plus signs, and equal signs.
<option> in the SEARCH FOR statement can be any of the following:
ABBREVIATED
Searches the field <c> for a word containing the string in <str>. The characters can be separated by other characters. The first letter of the word and the string <str> must be the same.
STARTING AT <n1>
Searches the field <c> for <str> starting at position <n1>. The result SY-FDPOS refers to the offset relative to <n1> and not to the start of the field.
ENDING AT <n2>
Searches the field <c> for <str> up to position <n2>.
AND MARK
If the search string is found, all the characters in the search string (and all the characters in between when using ABBREVIATED) are converted to upper case.

Looking for a word processor without word wrap, text edit doesn't cut it

I'm looking for a word processor without word wrap, text edit doesn't work. In text edit, it automatically scoots my text over to the next line but I just want it to keep going with a horizontal scrollbar. Is there a text editor I can download from the app store or can I get textedit to work somehow where it uses a horizontal scroll bar instead of entering text to the next line?

Error in compiling a custom dictionary for text analysis

I got a error when I tried to compile the custom dictionary for the Text Data Processing transformor. I am looking for help to solve the problem or work around the error.
The error is as follows:
[ERR] Can not create file [C:/ws_sclg.1]
Here is the command I was using:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\bin> tf-ncc -d ..\TextAnalysis\languages -o C:\Sample Source\Dictionary C:\Users\jack\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\XMLFile1.xml
It appears to me that the command was trying to create a log file or some temporary file in my C drive root directory, and the OS denied the action. The Data Services is running on a Windows 2008 Server R2. I wonder if there is a way to specify where to create this log file or tempory file?
Any insight or help is appreciated. Jack

Instead of calling the command from the windows shell command interface, I was able to call the compilier from Data Services; this problem is now resolved.

Allow Custom Text Entry for Drop down not working For Dynamic form

Dear All,
In drop down field Allow custom text entry is working fine if the form is save as a static pdf form file.But if the form is save as a Dynamic pdf form file it is not working.I can enter custom text in drop down field but after filling it up when I click on next field the text from the drop down is disappearing.
If any body can please help me to solve this problem.

Thanks a lot for your quick response.But it's not working for me.I have even tried with a form having only single field and save it as a dynamic pdf file.In that form also it's not working.The text which I have entered is disappearing when I click outside of this field.

How to insert custom texts in the copied BDS form from COBRA set up. I could not edit the text. I can edit the contact numbers in the standard text and displaying after saving the document.

Mouse over event for every word inside a text?

I want to do a separate mouse over event for every word inside a text.
or at least get the string below the mouse cursor.

There are no events for it but you can use TextField.getCharIndexAtPoint() to determine the character where the mouse is over, and from there you can work out the word where the mouse is over.
