Customizing the Autoconfig

I have been going through the Metalink Document: Customizing an AutoConfig Environment Doc ID: 270519.1
In which cases, we need to customize the template file?
(a) Changing the value of an existing context variable
Doubt: We can edit this variable value in Context File. Whey we need to edit the template file????
(b) Adding a new context variable to the context file
Doubt: Can't we add directly to conext file using OAM????? If it is possible, why we beed custom template file???
(c) Customizing an AutoConfig template file delivered by Oracle
Doubt: Can you elaborate this with simple example??
(d) Creating a customer owned AutoConfig template file
Doubt: When can we do this? can you give me small example? cause, we never edited any template file and we did not get chance to do this

Here is some info from my perspective
(a) Changing the value of an existing context variable
Doubt: We can edit this variable value in Context File. Whey we need to edit the template file????The supported way to change values of existing (Oracle-supplied) context file variables is thru OAM. You will need to edit some variables based on your installation and setup. This is not customization as per Oracle's definition.
(b) Adding a new context variable to the context file
Doubt: Can't we add directly to conext file using OAM????? If it is possible, why we beed custom template file???This certainly is a customization, and the supported way to add custom variables is as defined in the doc you mention. If you add these custom variables directly to the context file, then the next autoconfig patch will overwrite this file and you will lose your custom variables and setup.
(c) Customizing an AutoConfig template file delivered by Oracle

Almost all regular Apps customers will not have to create a completely custom autoconfig template file.

I was using Adobe version XI and the signature feature disappeared from the menu. Now I downloaded Acrobat Reader DC. Using the menu and instructions I created a signature ID and customized the signature; however, when I go to sign a document it only shows the name layout or graphic image? How do I go back to using the certificate that I created?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Issue in Customizing the Logon Page and Replacing the Logon Panel Image

I have facing problem in Customizing the Logon Page and Replacing the Logon Panel Image in Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.1. I have tried multiple time.
First Replacing the Logon Panel Image. I have following the steps given in admin guide of EPM workspace on page 25 and they are as follow
To replace the image that is displayed on the logon panel:
1 Create an image file named logon_panel.gif with dimensions that match previous image.
2 Rename the installed version of logon_panel.gif to logon_panel.gif.original in
%EPM_ORACLE_HOME% /common/epmstatic/bpmui/themes/<do for each
theme>/images_global. Move the logon_panel.gif file that you created in step 1 to this
directory.
3 Clear your browser cache.
Note: You do not need to restart the Hyperion Foundation Services - Manager Server.
But still I am getting the same default image on log in page.
The other problem I am facing is Customizing the Logon Page.

To customize the logon page:
1 Follow instructions in the topic Extract a file in the Workspace Web Application.

4 Create <temp directory>/war.
5 Extract the contents of <temp directory>/workspace.war into <temp directory>/
war.
6 Update the file you are patching under <temp directory>/war. as direct in it.
But I am not able to find file bpmui.jar in step 3 of above one (*). I have marked for your connivance.
I am able to see these file in that directory
dynamichelp.jar
workspace.jar.
Can anyone provide help on this. Platform I am using is LINUX

Email Func:BCS Classes-Customizing the sender and receiver

In my functionality previously, I used FM 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1' wherein I can freely customized the sender and recipient. But I need to change it to BCS class due to 50 character limitation in Subject.

The code above would always trigger the email of the owner of SY-UNAME. In my case, I need a custom one email, let's say, a hard coded non SY-UNAME email.
What I did:
Change the data definition of sender as follow, but this would give me not compatible type parameter.

"sender = cl_sapuser_bcs=>create( '<sender_email_literal_goes_here>' ).
Question: Is this possible? or the class is fixed to SY-UNAME's email?

Problem occured while customizing the WorkList app(customapp) in 10.1.3

Customizing the Cell Content of a Pivot Table

I have been away from ADF for a few years (since 10g v 1.3.1) and am quite impressed with all the Faces functionality added to the 11g release. The application I wrote relied heavily on pivot tables which back then, I had to use stored procedures in the database and dynamically views to display information. I am very interested in moving this application to 11g and taking advantage of the PivotTable component. One thing the application does is change the style of cells based upon the object being presented. I have been reading:

I easily created a pivot table and would like to change the formatting of various cells. I created a backing bean for a test page and added the Example 26–4 Sample Code to Change Style and Text Style in a Pivot Table to the bean.

Almost verbatim except changed the literals to select data in my use case domain. My question is: How do I invoke this message from my pivot table? I need to pass it a instance of the DataCellContext. The example is great and illustrates what I am looking to do but does not go into the implementation details required. Is there a sample app available for download that demonstrates these capabilities?

Is it: How do I call the getDataFormat() method from my pivot table?
If so , you need to set the dataFormat attribute of your pivot table.

Customizing the work protect mode

I have a problem in customizing the sap providing work protect mode. When I activate the work protect mode, a pop up is coming up and the default radio button selected is to open the unsaved data in a new window. Can you please let me know can we change the default selection by any option like
1. modifing the com.sap.portal.epcf.loader. par file
2. By any configuration. etc..

I don't think there is a configuration available to change the default selected radio button.
You will need to make the changes in the par file com.sap.portal.epcf.admin.par
u2022 Download the com.sap.portal.epcf.admin.par
u2022 Unzip the com.sap.portal.epcf.admin_core.jar and edit the WorkprotectPopup class

Problems customizing the user template

Hi,
I'm trying to customize the user template on 2 laptops. I've done this before with no problems, but this time it doesn't appear to be working correctly. I'm using the following command
cp -R /Users/TEMPLATE/* /System/Library/User\ Template/English.lproj
where TEMPLATE is the name of the user account I want to use as my custom template.
When I enter this command I receive the following:
usage: cp [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-fi | -n] [-pvX] source_file target_file
cp [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-fi | -n] [-pvX] source_file ... target_directory
Can anyone help me?
I'm using Leopard and am logged in as root.

I thought a typo may have been possible too. So I even copied and pasted the command string from the website which gave the directions for customizing the user template and it still wouldn't work. I ended up finding a post somewhere where someone else had problems with this and they simply suggested logging in as root and manually copying the files to the User Template folder which worked for me. Still like to know why it didn't work through the Terminal. Strange. Anyway, I have a workaround if I run into it again. Thanks for your help and the advice about the keychain!

Custom the CWgraph3D Control

Hello,
Curretly I met
another challenge about the CWgraph3D control. I want to show a
background image on a fixed ranges/axes area of the CWgraph3D control
in the XY view (or any of the other two projection, does not matter).
What I mean is, I have my CWgraph3D control set for the XY (2D) view,
and for example, the range of x and y are both 0 - 10 (fixed). I want
to show a back ground image of the control so that when I plot things
on the control, I will see what I plotted + the background image. I
cannot find a way to do it, can anyone give me a hand? Thanks.

Here is an example of what I am doing: Say, I have a sphere object sitting in the origin of the 3D Control and I am looking at it from the XY view (see the attached pic01). The X and Y axis is fixed (say, for example, both range from -10 to 10 crossing the sphere). The black line is there as a refernce. The task is to use a blade to cut the sphere along the reference black line. Assume I have a way to detect the movement of the blade so that I can show it in the 3D Control, my problem is how to show the sphere and the black line (which is the pic01 image) so that I know if I am at the right angle to cut my object. If it is complicated to custom the 3D control to show the image, is there a way that I can overlay an image on top of the 3D control and set its transparency to a level that I can see both the image and the plots in the 3D control?
BTW, the object to be cut is more complicated so that I want to just put the image in the 3D control.

I badly expressed myself, sorry.
With JMenu and JMenuItem there are in fact no problems.
What I wish it is to be able to for a given Jmenu (which has his own border - ok), all the associated JMenuitem are surrounded with one global border.
