Customizing the "My Appointments" iView in Collaboration Demo

Hi,
I would like to customize the "My Appointments" iView, but I don't know, whether it is at all possible and if it is, how can I customizing it?
Hope you can help me.
regards,
Miki

Hi,
Do you want to modify the preview (displayed under the list of items) or the application which is launched when you click on the work item? If it is the preview, you'll have to customize the task in the backend or modify the UWL xml configuration file. If it is the application you'll have to modify a standard WD Java iView.

  • Customizing the "Recent Notifications" iView

    Hey folks
Our client wants to change the SAP standard "Recent Notifications" iView.  He thinks (justifiably) that the headers "subscriptions" and "subscribed items" are a bit vague, so we want to change them to more specific titles, like "subscription management" and "subscription alerts".
    Two questions:
    1. Is there an easy way of doing this?
    2. If not, how do I customize the iView?  According to the iView properties, it's based on com.sap.km.cm.actioninbox, but I can't find this in a PAR file anywhere...
    We're still on EP6SP14.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Christopher,
With such modifications you always have to choose between "bad" and "worse" - it's just the question which is which...
Of course you could create a new component with a new name based on the original one and also change the role content to refer to the modified application. On the other side, new SPs have new features and removed bugs, and normally you will like to use these advantages. But if you create a modification in a new namespace, the new PARs aren't referenced.
So, as said, you have to decide what would be more important for you - to have the possibility to upgrade with no extra admin tasks to get your old solution running or to use the new version and to redo the modifications. As in this case "redo" primarily means copy the property files to some place, I would definitely advise to go the way described.
When modifying Java code, this question is harder to answer (and there is no general answer at all). It also can make sense to try to only create some small part of a PAR and from within that, to reference the standard implementation - not always possible and at least initially more work. But to decide what makes most sense is really project and customer dependent.
    Hope it helps

  • Customizing the document  loading  iview

    Dear all
we have a fully functional km system. In general whenever we want to load a new document we get a view where we enter name ,disc,..and for show further options we get extra options ..but what we want is to customize it in such a way that it has to show some more options ....(the entire documents in the km has to divided in to categories n subcategories irrespective of its foldar location...so these categories and sub categories have to reflect as options).we want this to refine our search option . it would be convinient if we have the category field and subcategories as the drop down .
can anyone explain me how this can be acheived .

    Hi,
Well, i think making use of taxonomies will help you classifying the documents in various catagories, have a look on these links:

  • Customizing the "Collaboration Demo" iView

    Hi,
I would like to customize the "My Appointments" iView in "Collaboration Demo", but I don't know, whether it is at all possible and if it is, how can I customizing it?
    Hope you can help me.
    regards,
      Miki

    Hi Misel,
Yes you can customize 'My Appointment' iView. Please follow the following steps. I think this will help you
    1.  Logon to portal as Administrator which has 'Content Administrator' role
    2.  Navigate to Content Administrator -> Portal Content
    3. Open the tree 'Portal Content'
    4. Open the tree 'Content Provided by SAP'
    5. Open the tree 'Collaboration'
    6. Open the tree 'Demo Role'
    7. Open the tree 'iView'
    8. Open iView 'My Appointments'
Now you can customize the iView.
Even you can customize all the iView under 'Collaboration Demo' from here.
If you have any questions or want more clerification please feel free to ask.

  • How to configure Collaboration (demo) role.

    Hello,
I want to remove "Room Quick Launch" iView that is diplayed under Detail navigation iView in Collaboration(demo) role, but I don't know how to do this? Could you please help me and tell where and how can I configure this?
    Regards,
    Michal Maciejewski

    Hi Michal,
You can go to the PCD and open the Collaboration Demo Role.
It should be in "content provided by SAP" folder. There you can open the
required page and remove the quick launch from the dynamic navigation.
But it is always advisable not to change SAP provided content.
Instead try to copy the role to your own namespace and try to modify it.
    Pls reward points if useful

  • ToolArea iView in Collaboration Rooms

Hi, I try to use a ToolArea iView as the room-search-iView in Collaboration Rooms.
The reason is, that this iView opens it's search results in a new window.
Is it possible to configure a special index for this iView to be searched? I didn't find the option.
Do you think it is possible to use the ToolArea iView in this case?
    Thanks for any reply
    Sandra

    Hi Sandra,
    in principle yes.
First of all you need a copy of the ToolArea iView.
Dan appropriate Search Option Set that restricts the search to your index or folder.
    System Administration -> System Configuration
-> (Navigation Panel) Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> User Interface (Show Advanced) -> Search -> Search Option Set
This can be configured within the specific search URLs (Search and Advanced Search) of your ToolArea iView copy.
    Add
    &SearchPluginName=MySearchOptionSet
    Regards Matthias Röbig-Landau
PS: Please provide points in case.

  • Customizing the Search iview to our Requirements..

    Hi All
Please let me know whether we can customize the Search iview to our needs/requirements, as i have to develop this for searching the docs into new categories in the KM.
Can we make an iview in WebDynpro and use directly it as a Search iview inplace of the standard Search iview with the options slightly customized.
    Regards,
    Priya

    Hi,
You can create your WebDynpro iview and change DefaultPortalPage (you should replace the com.sap.portal.toolAreaiView by yours).
Or if you don't want to change the standard portal content then make a copy of this portal page, change the copy with your iview, and create your portal desktop with this page.

    Andrei

  • Custome Event for the Result Set iView

    Hi,
does anybody know how to set up the Custom Event on the Result Set iView in order to trigger an event when a record is selected?
I know how to do it using an event Type = EPCF + Event Name + Namespace, but this creates an extra colum on the Result Set iView with the Custom Event name on it, that has to be click in order to trigger the event. I do not want click on this column, i just want to create the event when the record is selected.
    Regards
    Diego.

    Hi Diego,
We are also implementing similar scenario.
We also want to open a window on the clik of any column of the result and if the result is zero we want to trigger some another iView.
So if u have found any solution can u just let me know.
OR else can u  just elaborate on ur current scenario using EPCF and custom event.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards Shruti.

  • Where can I find a collaboration demo?

I'm trying to sell the benefits of portal to our business and I can't for the life of me seem to find a demo of collaboration.  I know it's a very cool feature yet it's hard to sell the business without some sort of demo of what it is all about.  It's very hard for people to visualize.  I've found a nice 3 minute demo on this site yet the sound does not work so I can't use it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    -Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
I sent the demos to your mail.
Oops, it bounced back, let me know where I can send it across to you.
    Hope that helps.

    1)  How to hide these reports Iview by changing the launchpad ?
    2)  is it possible to do this globally so all users do not see these?

Why this behaviour. Why the "Classpath" entry should
not be the last line in the manifest file.
That is a question for the people at Sun. The behaviour is not specific to Class-Path. The last line of the Manifest is not read unless it ends with a newline.

  • Missing/Empty iViews in Collaboration Room

    Hi all,
I am currently working on Netweaver 2004s SP10.
I created a collaboration room out of a customised room template.
When I entered the room, the related links iView is empty.
However, I have added the SAP standard room member list as a related link to the page.
I have also added the standard SAP Quicklinks iView as a dynamic navigation but the iView did not appear as well.
This customised room template was transported over from another system 2004s SP8 and it works well on that system.
    Any advice?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I remember seeing this on a fresh SP10 portal. But after applying the newest patches it was gone. And it wasn't KM patches, but on other software components.
    Very strange.

    Sascha
