Customizing User/Group Assigned Storage Limitations with OS 10.6 Server

On Snow Leopard Server, when I assign individuals or groups specific access permissions to unique folders on my shared external drives, can I also allocate storage restrictions to any of those people to prevent them from hogging all of the space on my server?

Hi Amir,
I don't think there is direct way to do this. You might be able to pull this off by going through the back-door (database update). Talk to SAP support about this and they should be able to provide you with the tablenames which gets affected by users and user groups upload.

Report User (groups) assigned to Bundles

Hi,
i need a report of users or user groups assigned to Bundles. I can create a report of Workstations assigned to Bundles. But the users are LDAP users, so they're not available in the user database of ZCM? Is there an option to report Bundles and there assigned LDAP Users or User Groups?

What type of license should the user be assigned when passing transactions through the DI Server?
We used to assign indirect access licenses to users that were just using the DI Server. We have one add-on developer that says that the user has to be a Profession license. Current environment is SAP B1 9.0 PL10. My understanding was that you could have up to 10 users assigned to a single DI Server license.

Indirect Access – has access to any SSP solutions (developed with the SAP Business One DI-API) only. The Indirect Access license is bundled with the DI server. Users who have an Indirect Access license can access a limited number of application forms, but cannot perform any functions with the SAP Business One application. Users who have an Indirect Access license can access an unlimited number of SSP solutions

WLS 8.1.5 console doesn't show ActiveDirectory (or custom) Users/Groups

We currently have numerous apps running on a weblogic 8.1.4 portal domain. I am attempting to replicate this domain on 8.1.5. There are four authenticators on our old domain: a DefaultAuthenticator, an ActiveDirectoryAuthenticator, and two Custom Authenticators (based on the sample database authenticator), with JAAS flags set to OPTIONAL for all. Everything was working properly under sp4, including user/group/membership listings in console and authentication. Under sp5, while simple authentication seems to work with all providers, the user/group/membership listings in weblogic console have bad HTML (empty rows under any default authenticator users/groups). The active directory settings were migrated wholesale and I verified that authentication works against this provider. Just no usernames or groupnames. I tested with just ActiveDirectory and DefaultAuthenticator, DefaultIdentityAsserter.

I was able to debug a bit more using our custom authenticators. I have verified that the user and group lists are being requested and returned properly when you click on Manage Users or Manage Groups in weblogic 8.1.5 console. It just seems like somewhere in the console there is a problem and the HTML output is garbled. Here is a sample of my debug text, the method names and classes should be immediately familiar from the sample authenticator:

i have reinstalled solaris and the problem continues.
Under Solaris Management Console groups and users doesn't run ok. Editing an user i can't see groups and editing groups i can't see its users...very very extrange.
A bug?

List all users/groups in Contacts App with Mac OSX 10.9 Server

I have installed Mac OSX 10.9 Server locally, and I am trying to set it up so that when a user opens Contacts, and goes to Directory Service it will list all of the users and groups (that have a mailing list) on the server. However, it will only show the users if they are searched for. Otherwise, it is blank.

As the error says - you need to fix the permissions on your preferences folder, and it sounds like you may be missing part of the Application Support folders or have a permissions problem there as well.
It sounds like something weird happened to your system that messed up permissions -- we see that happen often when people try to use Apple's migrate utilities between systems or disks (it doesn't copy everything, and messes up permissions). Fixing permissions with Disk Utility can help, but you may need to reinstall Photoshop to replace missing files/folders, and you'll still have to fix the permissions on your preferences folder.

Custom user/group properties

Is there a possibility to extend the standard user/group properties (CQ5 Security)? I would like to add some more properties then the standard name, mail, about,....
I've tried to extend the dialog by cutomizing the UserProperties.js Dialog. The Problem is that cq5 doesent save the newly added propertes. There is a save function using the folowing service.

It posts the parameter but it doesent get saved.
Is there a way to make it work?

I have used a kind of a workaround. Just created a new tab for the user/group properties and registered it in the UserAdmin.js . The Tab is implemented similar to the CQ.security.UserProperties and has a similar save handler.
I'm getting the stored Properties the following way:

The problem is that I have hundreds of users to maintain user groups.
found out that it is possible to assign user group to role and role to user groups. implementing hr authorization with in-direct assignment of auth. So if I could use sq10, user groups could also be link to position in the org chart.
sq10 does allow you to assign a user group to a role but when you assign the role to a user and the user runs a query, it reports that no user group has been assigned.
Suspect that there must be a parameter or switch that is not turned on

How to change user group of a query (sq01)

I'm working with SAP Queries (SQ01) and I don't know how can I change the user group assignation of a query. We did only one user group for all users and queries and know in order to arrange it a bit we've created three user groups.
We know how to assign users to new user groups but for each query of the old group we neet to move it to one of the new user groups, how could we do this?

Deploying custom user managers

We had developed a custom UserManager to authenticate against a JDBC data source. We were using this means successfully against the OC4J developer's preview release 2. Now we've installed the full release version of the Release 2 application server, and I have deployed the application using the Enterprise Manager (instead of manipulating the server.xml) but now cannot sign into the application. If I click on the "security" link for my application and I get the following error message:
Error encountered initializing users and groups using the specified user manager. User manager class com.mycompany.myapp.security.oracle.MyUserManager not found.
The one thing I noticed that was different was that when it deployed, that in the "applications" folder, an underscore was prefixed to foldername that was created. (e.g. _myapp instead of myapp) I don't know how relevant that is.
So the question I have is why can't my custom user manager be seen now with Release 2 of the app server? I'm just using the J2EE/Web Cache at this time with no Infrastructure installation. At a future time we will be moving to an LDAD/OID login but I would like this JDBC version working in the short term.

That is because you used a jar that is outside of your a2g.ear. That Oracle9iAS R2 doesn't seem to pick up your jars in the lib folder!!

Restricting Queries in HR: Compensation Management User Group

I am trying to restrict the Infoset /SAPQUERY/HR_XX_CM_03, which contains salary/compensation queries, assigned to User Group /SAPQUERY/H0, from being accessed by anyone. In SQ03, user group /SAPQUERY/H0, there are no users assigned but users with access to SQ01 can select the user group /SAPQUERY/H0 and access the queries tied to infoset /SAPQUERY/HR_XX_CM_03. Why are users able to access the infosets of the user group when no users are assigned to the user group?

Turns out that security authorization for access to SQ01 had an S_QUERY value of 02 which allows for full change. With this value the user group/user assignments done via sq03 did not work. Setting S_QUERY to 23 allows for user group assignment to restrict access in sq01

Here you specify the users who should be authorized to run the query. A user group is always associated with a Functional Area.
         Go to the menu path Environment => User Group. Give a user group name in the screen that comes next.
         Specify the sap logins of the users whom you want to authorize for using the functional area and click on the Create button.
         Use the menu path Assign Functional Area to assign the functional area to the user group.
         Save the user group and back out of the screen by clicking the Back button.
Note: One user group can be assigned to any number of functional areas with logical database or without logical database.
The final step is to create the actual query.

Customer Account Group with Output Procedure assignment

Is there any assignment is possible between Customer Account Group & Output Procedure? What is the function of Output procedure DB0001, I mean how its works. How in Customer Master Output box will get open. Please give details as much as possible.

Yes it is possible to assign the output determination procedure to the account group.
IMG path to assign output determination procedure
SPRO>Financial accounting>Account recievables and Account payables>Customer accounts>Master data>Preparations for Creating Customer Master Data>Define Account Groups with screen layout (Customers) select account group then go in to details here you can find the field Output determ.proc. under general data tab.
If you assign the output determination procedure to the account group, the output box will open in the customer master record in the Sales area data as Documents tab here you can enter the output types which are related to you.
