Cut bookmarks folder, unable to paste, folder now missing from favorites, how to recover?

Sometime ago, I created a bookmarks folder in Firefox Bookmarks and added a lot of bookmarks into it. Today, I wanted to cut the folder, which I apparently did, and paste it into a Windows 7 folder. When I tried to paste the folder, the paste command was not highlighted for use. I went back to Firefox and my bookmarks folder is gone from Bookmarks. So where is it. How do I recover my folder of bookmarks? Using Firefox 3.6.13.
If you have not closed Firefox, open the bookmarks library (in the Bookmarks menu select Organize Bookmarks), then in the library select Organize > Undo.
If you have already closed Firefox, or the Undo option is not available, you can restore one of the automatic bookmark backups (Firefox creates backups of the bookmarks for the last 5 days that it was used). I just copied a folder from my desktop to my pen drive. It transferred fine. I then ejected the pen drive then pulled it out. On doing so it said it had not been ejected properly!!!!! The folder is now missing from my computer and the pen drive. Pulling my hair out please help!
When youi say Eject, the RAM copy of the Directory is written back to the drive. On a pen drive, this can take several seconds.
If you get too excited and don't wait those few seconds, the directory write will be incomplete, and the drive will lose its integrity or lose files or both. -
My Final Cut Projects folder were missing some files, I went to my time machine backup to restore and it said I don't have permission to access the time machine folder "Final Cut Projects". Why?
Yes, I've done all "the ususal suspects.." repaired permissions, zapped pram, "reintroduced Time Machine to the backup drive by turning it off and on... etc

Have you tried to go to the View Menu (at top) and then choose "customize toolbar".? You can drag the arrows back into the toolbar from there (and anything else you'd like to have there).

I uninstalled firefox then reinstalled firefox. because I did not like a couple of add-ons that I wanted to remove. I thought I would still have all of my bookmarks. However, all my bookmarks were cleaned out with the new installed version. Then I tried to Repair Windows in System Restore to back track a few days in hope to recover the old version of firefox. It did not get back the old version and no bookmarks. I still get the new version with no bookmarks. Please advise me how to recover my bookmarks.
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Restarting Firefox and rebooting the computer did not help.
1. Open the Library (Ctrl+Shift+B).
<br>2. On the left, expand the All Bookmarks section.
<br>3. Left-click the Bookmarks Menu folder to select it.
<br>4. On the top toolbar, click the Organize button and choose New Bookmark.
<br>5. Name the bookmark "Recently Bookmarked", and enter the following in the Location field. Change the value of ''maxResults'' if you want more or fewer than 10 items (which is the default).

6. Either restart Firefox or just open a new window (Ctrl+N) and close the old one. -
I was copying files over from a network drive to my desktop. During the copy, I dragged a folder already into my desktop into the new copied folder. However, the folder seems to have disappeared. It was 3.6gb in size, and it doesn't show up on the desktop or in the other folder. However, the space is still being used, as my hard drive info is showing it's 3.6 gb larger than it was before. My latest Time Machine backup was a 3.6gb backup as well.
Is there any way I can find and delete this data? It's a bunch of pictures that I don't want on my laptop (on external drive). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm unclear as to which folder disappeared - the new one (new folder) or the old one (old folder)
Have you used spotlight to search for it? or for one of the pictures in it?
If you don't know its name or the names of any of the photos, I'd go to column view and start drilling down in all of the folders starting with the new folder and all of the folders in it

This clearly indicated that it is there - you just have to look harder (and maybe smarter )

I have been trying to learn how to use my MacBook Pro better so I can get my photos on it. I do not like iPhoto at all because it was not letting me organize my photos the way I always did in Windows Explorer. I am now trying to use Lightroom and I have run into some issues with how my photos are showing up.
1. Whenever I removed my photos from iPhoto so I could start over, my Picture file in Finder disappeared. I do not believe I deleted it but somehow I must have. I was trying to just delete my pictures from Imgages under All My Files. I thought that All My Files was duplicating data and I don't want duplicate pictures on my computer. However, now I am just wondering if All My Files is just a link to my actual files. What is the purpose of that?
2. I imported one photo card to try to work with it and made a new Pictures folder on my desktop and arranged it using some folders and sub-folders I created.
3. I then uploaded these through lightroom.
4. Somehow, all of my photos were showing up in images, which is not where I wanted them and I deleted the duplicates.
5. Now many of my folders in the Picture file I created on the desktop are empty with no photos
6. I tried to restore my pictures from the trash to Images under All My Files and it keeps putting them into documents
7. I have been trying to learn how to use this computer but it seems so different from what I was always used to with Explorer. This should not be that complex but I search and search on the web and can't seem to find exactly what I need to help meiMessage and FaceTime went down yesterday for some people. Mine is still down. My iMessage is saying the same thing about being activated. Sounds like you are still down too. Ignore the status page that says everything is fine - it lies.

Mail folder is missing from Library in mountain lion os
I'm searching for the Mail folder on my HD and cannot find it. Does not appear in the Library or anywhere else. When I search for it using Finder nothing shows up. I'm using the option button to display hidden folders, but that doesn't help either.

Note that the Mail folder is stored on ~/Library, not /Library folder. Open Finder, select Go menu > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Mail to access to the Mail folder -
WTF? you ask for details then tell me I have exceeded the 255 character limit. Clicking on links in an email I wound up with 5 open tabs. Tried to close the last tab opened. I got pop-up warning I was about to close 5 tabs.
ya I'm aware of the shortcut keys. Been using a mac since they came out. She is used to interaction with the mouse, hence the specific question as to where the X has gone.

I recently purchased Snow Leopard v10.6.3 in order to upgrade the OSX platform on my 5 year old Macbook Pro. That loaded without trouble. Then I needed to do an online upgrade from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8 (via 10.6.4) and there the trouble commenced !! Somewhere along the way, the "Mail" application simply disappeared! On advice from Apple telephone support, I did a "selective" reinstall of "Mail" from the Snow Leopard disk, but the version of Mail it loaded (v4.5) was wrong for use with OSX v10.6.8 and so it kept asking for the 'latest" version (v4.6) and just would not work. I tried a "Fix" download provided on the Apple site, that didn't work.
I spent 2 hours at the Genius Bar of my local Apple Store and they finally found a fix, after some difficulty. Apparently there had been a programming error somewhere in one of the Apple update downloads.
So now I have "Mail" back - but the Mailbox folders now not as they were before - particularly they do not contain my archive Folders that I had been using to store certain historic emails.
I think the folder structure on "Mail" is now identical to that on my "BT Yahoo" screen - whereas before they had been different. My local Apple Store told me that it was practice now to synchronise the "Mail" screen and (for example) the BT Yahoo screen to be identical. This is well and good going forward - but does not help me with access to my historic "email filing system" !!
Anyone help me find those missing folders ?? They must be stored somewhere, but where ??!!

Higgins5000Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -
I transfered my iTunes library from my old computer to my new computer using iCloud and an missing content. My iPhone still has my full library on it. I've synced my phone but the missing cntent wont transfer over. How do I get my complete library on my new computer? My old computer had windows 7; the new one windows 8. Dont know if this makes any difference.
Delete the garbage that has been created on the new computer.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer. Launch iTunes, everything will now be as it was on the old computer. -
My Arrangement tab is "NOW" missing from my display pref.
I have OS x Lion and have had no problems connecting my macbook to my TV, but now when I connect, both screens turn blue and instead of coming on they both go blank/black? When I go to my preferences and to display...i no longer have an arrangement tab.....how do I get this tab back and Im not even sure where it went??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My compose bar is so scrunched up that I am unable to click on it to send an e-mail. This has just happened within the last month or so. How to fix this, please.
Have you tried Firefox's zoom feature? Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages
You can "zoom" all sites using this add-on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint]. After setting your global zoom level, you can still fine-tune the zoom on individual sites.
After installing NoSquint, click the % on the Add-on Bar to call up site preferences, then click the Global Settings button, then the Zooming tab.
If you don't have the Add-on Bar displayed, you can right-click the new tab button ("+") or a blank area of the tab bar to the right of it and choose Add-on Bar from the shortcut menu.
You can experiment with sizes larger than 125%, but I wouldn't go much higher than 150% unless you have a large high-resolution monitor.
If there are particular sites that still present a problem, feel free to post their URLs.

Go to Settings > iTunes and App Stores and log in with your Apple ID. Then open the iTunes app, tap More then Purchased. Select the category you want and download.
