Cut in the header???

Thought I would post this here as well.
This is probably a silly Q but when I export a sequence from FCP into a QT movie, all self contained, I get this little header at the top of the movie that says CUT just after the first scene change and stays there for the rest of the movie.
I have QT Pro 7 and FCP 4.5 on my G5. Can't see what I'm doing wrong here and it has me stumped.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

When I drag a video clip into the upper region, it zooms in, cutting off part of the head of the subject

I have a movie clip imported from my DVD video camera. After importing, I drag it to the Project library. However, it then zooms in and cuts off the head of the main subject, besides making things blurry from zooming in. I would say it almost doubles the zoom. I have gone to all the options... took of the cropping effect, etc. Nothing works. Any ideas? I saw something else about it on here, but no answers.

This can happen if you have image stabilization turned on as it zooms into the clip to compensate for the camera shake. It can turn it off or control the zoom factor in the Clip Adjustments function. If you reduce the zoom factor too much you'll see black around the image.

Make your selection and then use Refine Edge.

I need to make a copy of an entire email, including the header w/the sender's info and time, etc. to insert into a letter, etc. How can I do this w/out cutting and paste and doing the header separately from the text.

Here are some things to check.
If possible, set the aspect ratio of your project to the same aspect ratio as your camera. This will be either 16:9 or 4:3.
If your clips or photos are not the same as your project's aspect ratio, you can select a project clip and
click on the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool. FIT will make the movie fill out the screen by Letterboxing. Crop will cut off the edges to fill the screen.
Finally, you may have analyzed for stabilization, and then had stabilization automatically applied in your project. Stabilization works by zooming in. You can select a project clip and open the Clip Inspector. You can turn off stabilization, or you can move the slider so there is less zoom.

Ok, your slideshow, photo album template in iphoto is THE BOMB.. so cool!
But, someone thought, hey lets put one that cuts all the photos up and almost surely cuts the important part of whatever the original photo was.. grr?
It wouldn't be so bad, if we could go back through the presentation and mix and match to make that slide work, but inevitably, it cuts out someone's head?
Please tell me there is a work around, or way to tell it not to use that slide option? I'd rather have more photo on photos or multi photo frames than anything auto cutting pictures.

Many of the themes are not designed for portrait oriented photos. That's what you're running into with the scrapbook theme. Not much you can do about it.
There's a 3rd party slideshow application, PhotoPresenter, that has over 25 animated themes. There are several that are sort of like the scrapbook that do handle the portrait as they should be handled. Some of the available themes are shown in this demo page: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes. Look at Portfolio, Frame and Album. It integrates seamlessly with iPhoto. and iTunes You can download and run it in demo mode.
The early fading of music in a slideshow is a well documented problem. Just send your complaint/bug report to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html. The more reports the better.

There's a maximum size for the header-I need more room

This is a weird one for me. I am making a worksheet for my students and I'm making them in sets of four so they can work together. About 2/3rds of each page is the same, with a list of different words at the bottom. So I want to put the top 2/3rds of each page into the header, since I need to make 10 sets of these.
But I can't. Pages won't let me make a header that goes more than about a third of the way down the page. Anything entered lower than that is cut off.
What's the point of this restriction? Forget that—is there any way around it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Peter,
Don't use a header. Place the fixed text into a floating text box in a Pages word processing document.
Resize the box to fit within the document margins, and place it where you want it on the page.
Apply Wrap to prevent 'regular' text from sliding over or under the text box.
With the box selected, go Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master.
The text box (and its text) will appear on each page until you enter a Section Break. The rest of the page will contain whatever text you enter in that area.

After udate to IOS 8 when I call up a pdf file for my lyrics it now had a header and footer that are blocking my words. Can I get rid of the header and footer

I have all my lyrics for my songs in iBooks on my Ipad. Before updating to IOS8 when I called up a song only the lyrics came up. Now after updating to IOS 8 there is a header and bottom(showing the page). The header is cutting off my words and they are making my songs now appear on 2 pages instead of 1. Is there anyway to get rid of the header and footer so only my lyrics show on the page?

Tap the screen once and the header/footer disappears. Tap again and it reappears.

How do I keep the Spry menu fixed to the bottom of the header div?

I have created a horizontal Spry menu bar using Dreamweaver CS4 but the problem is, I can't figure out how to make it be in the right position at the bottom of the header div. In Design View it is too far below the header background graphic, in Live View it cuts off the bottom of the header graphic, and it also looks higher or lower in Safari and Firefox.
I'm sure it's very simple, but how can I control them menu on the y-axis and keep the menu fixed to the bottom of the header div? Is there a way to float it to the bottom?
I really appreciate any help or advice anyone can give me on how to get a stationary menu bar.

You need 4 basic things:
jQuery latest core library,
jQuery easing.js,
jQuery anchor.js, inside the <head> of your document
jQuery function code, near the bottom of your document.

Word - Pages and image in the header

Morning.
I've opened a Word file in Pages. The Word file contains in the header of the first page an image (corporate logo). In Pages 3.0.2 the image isn't adjusted on the right place but one line beneath.
The problem is: I can not select the image to cut and replace ist.
Do you know a way to grab the pic?

Welcome to Pages discussions.
Using Word for Mac 2004, I embedded a logo into the header. Then upon opening the Word document in Pages 3.0.2 I was able to move the logo out of the header onto the page and from the header completely delete the logo. The logo is a PNG file.
Could it be that logo is embedded or coded into the document from the sender? We had that in some of our documents were the corp. logo stayed in the document.
Let's hope others will have a better idea.

When using Final Cut Express, the video in the Viewer window looks fine, but when I insert the video into the Canvas Timeline it appears to lose resolution, and look fuzzy and blurry. Are there preferences or settings for the Timeline that cause this?

Thanks David. I had to convert the mts file to Quick Time (using AunSoft Conversion software) before I could import it into Final Cut Express. And I made sure I kept the size of movie (720 X 480 with letterbox) to compliment what I set my Panaconic AVCCAM video recorder at (720/60). Even after I fully render it, it still looks fuzzy in the Canvas window at the right that plays what I have editing down in the Timeline. A friend that edits some using Final Cut Pro helped me to narrow things down to this problem. This is also wierd. If my Viewer window at the left is set to 200% to get the person's head the same size in the Canvas window at the right we needed to put it to 400%. Does this make any sense. We think we need to control the Time line resolution somehow but cannot find any options from my manual, or the help, or in the various drop down menus. Do you have any clue? What is going on?

There is too much space in the header

When I try to print a document or form the page comes out with too much space at the header and cuts off the bottom of the form or document. I've tried an auto alignment and that hasn't fixed the problem. Is there anything else I can adjust or try?

Generally, to adjust the amount of header in your prints, you will need to adjust the settings with the printing application. When printing on plain paper, a very narrow header is often required. Unless you are attempting to print to the leading edge of the paper, the header size should be within the printer's range.
What type of paper are you printing on? What is the size of the header that you need? Also, what application are you printing from?

Help! When I publish from flash my swf gets cut at the bottom

I'm pretty new at Flash and I have been trying to solve this for the last coupleof days to no success. When I publish to html in flash my movie gets cut at the bottom which it really can't.
Is there anyway to resolve this?

The reason that I wanted to see the two screenshots was so that I could see the difference. I wanted to see what part was being cut off. In any case when I look at http://www.actualinteriors.com/full_uk.html and http://www.actualinteriors.com/full_uk.swf, I see the same thing. I don't see any part of the Flash movie being cut off in the published html page.
What browser are you using that you see the movie cut off?
